Hemlock Cove is celebrating a magical birthday, and familiar faces from different places are descending on the town to participate in the party.

Everyone is looking forward to the festivities except Bay Winchester, who would rather be hiding from her high school nemesis than chatting her up in the town square.

Lila Stevens hasn’t changed since graduation, and Bay remains her favorite target. Bay would like to ignore her, but Lila isn’t making it easy – especially when she sets her sights on FBI Agent Landon Michaels.

Unfortunately for Bay, she can’t focus on that predicament when the Hemlock Cove Savings & Loan is held up and a local teller is shot. When suspicion falls upon Sam Cornell, the Winchesters have to gather together to prove his innocence (or guilt).

Clove is despondent, Thistle is on a revenge mission and Aunt Tillie is … well … Aunt Tillie. As usual, the Winchester witches are in an uproar.

As the clues start to fit together, Bay realizes she has to wade through a pack of lies to find the truth. With Landon by her side, and Lila nipping at her heels, Bay is going to have to find a way to survive and keep her family together.

When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail.
Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.

4 Stars... Things go from bad to worse when Bay has to face off against her high school nemesis and solve a murder case in which Clove's love interest, Sam, appears to be the main suspect... Keeping her cousin from going over the deep end, confronting her teenage past, and solving the case all collide in this hilarious read with our favorite family of witches... Another crazy adventure that you won't want to miss a single second of; I absolutely love to sit down with these insane characters and just immerse myself into their stories... A fun light read that makes me laugh and swoon with delight.:)

So here's the thing, I know I will read the next one, because as I write this review, I've already read it. But...this one. This book. This book sealed the deal for me that I don't like Landon.

Do I need to explain? Well, I'm going to...

Landon is a pig. He is obvious very full of himself and written at someone who is a borderline abuser. I teach about domestic violence and I teach against this behavior. About the constant need to know where you are...the yelling...the guilt trips...the possessiveness. All of this is just dangerous. I'd like to see Bay not feel like she "needs an attractive man" on her arm to feel good about her.

The books of the girl who thinks she is ugly, is actually "hot" in everyone else's eyes...and the sexy guy who is with her. "Why are you with her? She is a freak!!?" How many more times can you say that.

Worst storyline and I believe that if I lived in this small town, I would leave. Crime is running rampant and it is usually murder! And the bully from high school? PLEASE! And Nick? SO BADLY WRITTEN! Just painful.

In this one, Bay is not looking forward to the people she went to high school with coming back to town, especially the people who bullied her back then. But when she does run into them she starts to realize a few truths about them and herself.

But when a robbery happens and an innocent woman dies because of, someone close to Bay and her family gets framed and things take a turn for the worse. Bay and the gang must do what they can to figure out who the real culprit is before it tears their family apart.

This book was another good one in the series. I enjoyed the interactions between Bay and Landon a lot in this one. I really felt like their relationship is growing, and it was beautiful to read about.

The only really bad thing about this one was the issues with Clove, she's really starting to get on my nerves. I have to say she is probably my least favorite of the characters, but other than that I thought it was good, and I'm looking forward to more.

You know that feeling you get when you start a book and you know you're going to be disappointed, so you should just close the book and forget about it?

I really have to start paying attention to that feeling. I guess I was distracted by believing it was going to get better. It didn't.

Words cannot fully express how crappy this book was. Between the immature bitching, the lame plot, and the incessant stupidity, not even Aunt Tillie could conjure up a spell to save it. Like when they were trying to sneak up on a prowler in a greenhouse and stood outside having a noisy argument over who's going to go in first. At that point, I was hoping the bad guy would shoot all of them.

Truly, this was abysmal and a real disappointment compared to the other books in this series.

Well we step into the past in this one. Bay's nemesis is in town. The insults are flying from every direction and Aunt Tillie goes on the defensive for her family. Nick was always on my radar and I must admit that ruined it for me as I guessed who is was early on. I didn't see Bay getting shot though.

I really had to get used to the humor the author brings to the table, and have to admit, I initially choked on it a little. But then...I pressed on and read the other five in the series. These are kind of silly books, absolutely hilarious in some places, less than average mysteries (because most of the time they're sooo obvious). You have to remember what the genre is and not put it up against "The Tale of Two Cities", folks. Overall, loved this series and had a lot of fun reading them. I hope I grow up to be Aunt Tillie!!

Another fun read!

Another fun read of the antics of the Winchester witches and their love interests! Yes, all three of the cousins have steady beaus which make for interesting dynamics. Aunt Tillie is her usual crotchety self that always seems to come through in a pinch even with the love/hate relationship with the rest of the human population.

You have to give these women a try, you won't be sorry and the laughter will improve your health!

Adorable. Heather recommended this series to me and I finally got around to reading it. It was fantastic. Its like a cross between Charmed and the witty dialogue of Gilmore Girls. Love it. What a fun series. The cherry on top is that there is no cheesy sex...despite it hedging slightly towards paranormal romance.

Reunions suck

The only people who love high school reunions are the ones who peeked there. Not only do the Winchester's have to deal with past bully but there is a thief and murder on the loose trying to tie it to Sam. What can possibly go wrong....

I liked this book but, tbh, Landon is driving me a little nuts with his “you need to tell the truth” , “don’t lie to me Bay”…. Over protective, bossiness. He needs to let up… or maybe I need a break from these books. Sadly they are like crack to me atm. Can’t get enough of the witches.

This is another in the really delightful series about the Winchester Witches.

There's going to be some people from Bay's school who are coming to the town, one of them being Lila, a girl who bullied Bay without mercy during her years in high school. Obviously, this is not something Bay is looking forward to.

Neither is basically running into a bank robbery, dealing with a new ghost, dealing with the normal family problems, dealing with a shooting and, at the same time, dealing with her relationship with Landon.

Lila also learns a powerful lesson. While Thistle, Clove and Bay may argue with each other (rather strongly at times) and Aunt Tillie may cause them some trouble from her spells, there's on thing that is of utmost importance.

Family. If someone from outside the family starts causing major problems for someone in the family then that person is going to wind up in a world of hurt. Aunt Tillie to the rescue!

I love this series and my favorite character is without doubt Aunt Tillie, even with her combat fatigues and combat helmet.

With a rebranding anniversary..

.. and reunion event Bay is not looking forward to the coming week.. when her arch nemesis Lila Stevens reappears and doesn't seem to have changed at all.

Shortly after their initial meeting the bank is robbed and a teller shot, the robber knocks Bay flying and Landon is upset that she has run towards trouble again!

An anonymous caller claims that the gunman is Sam.. this leads to a split between the cousins as Clove believes that Bay and Thistle are trying to break them up.. with emotions running high and with more trouble to come Bay and Thistle need to decide if they can forgive Sam and move on..

Lila's transfixed by Landon and prepared to go to pretty much any lengths to take him from Bay so it's time to bring out the big guns.. Aunt Tillie and Thistle.. to put her in her place once and for all. Lila's staying at the Dragonfly and her old flame Nick is staying at the Overlook.. is nowhere free of bad memories??

I never had an arch enemy in high school but Bay Winchester sure did. Like most fictional high school nemeses, Lilah Stevens is beautiful, popular, and mean. Really and truly mean. And Bay was her favorite victim. And still is. Because Lilah is back in town and she's set her sights on Bay and on Bay's man, Landon. She's not even subtle about it, immediately sidling up to Landon soon after someone robs the local bank. Landon's not having it and, in fact, is too busy reaming out Bay because she ran to the shots rather than away from them.
It was really nice to see how much Bay really did trust Landon. Although, she did wobble quite a bit on the trust issues, especially when it comes down to reporting the evidence that points to her cousin Clove's beau, Sam, as the bank robber. Even when it means that Clove is no longer talking to Bay.
There was a little too much drama in this one for me but I do love that the women are finding their HEAs without losing too much of themselves.

As always life in Hemlock Cove is not easy or simple. Bay's high reunion is on the horizon and she is not interested especially since her nemesis, Lila, is coming. There is a bank robbery and a teller is killed. Bay is the only one to be able to see her ghost and is set to helping her. Unfortunately suspicion falls on Sam, Clove's love interest. Then to make matters worse, Lila sets her sights on Landon and Bay is in a tad of a tizzy. Now she has to help a ghost get closure, proves Sam's innocence or guilt, and hope she has the wherewithal to keep Landon close before he scurries off with Lila. Or and while this is going on, Aunt Tillie is being her usual firecracker self.
Strap yourself to your broomstick, keep you magic wand close and watch out for bumpy air currents as we zoom along with the Winchester family for another rollicking mystery.

Bewitchingly snarky

The Wicked Witches are very enjoyable, but you need to be in the right mood. I have been in the right mood 6 times and have already downloaded book 7. These are semi cosy mysteries. Domestic setting, easy on the blood, no gore, lots of whimsy, likeable characters make it cosy. However, the main characters, a family of 7 witches, are relentlessly sarcastic and sniping. Yes, they all love each other. Yes, it can be too much. Hence the right mood needed.
I read this one on an 11 hour flight from Amsterdam to San Francisco. Light enough to be read in bits, funny enough to dispel boredom. There is a bit of redundancy, yes, Landon is handsome, yes the aunt grows pot, but well paced overall. Well done!

Absolutely love Aunt Tillie in this one

Awesome. I have read this book several times now. Aunt Tillie is awesome! A reunion weekend is blighted by the arrival of Bay's arch enemy from high school and especially when she starts to make a play for Landon. To make matters worse there's a bank robbery and a hold up with evidence linking both to Sam. Can the girls clear everything up, get there mem and keep Aunt Tillie under control. A fabulous plot that will have you laughing as Aunt Tillie's Amazon addiction addicted her take on mean girls. This has to be one of my favourite books ever.

Love it.

This just might be my favorite book in the series. Well, until I read the next one. I lost count of the number of times I was brought to tears because I was laughing so hard. So much happens in this story that you almost forget there's a mystery to solve. Fantastic characters and an even better story. I cannot remember the last time I was this excited about a series. I'm only sorry it took me this long to find it--that and reaching the end of the book. If you're not reading this series, you should be, because you don't know what you're missing. This book is definitely worth reading.

My favorite part of this series is the absurd family dynamic and dysfunction. I like the mostly strong female characters and the equally strong male characters; for the most part. It’s been over 30 years since I was in a new relationship so the Neanderthal qualities that Logan occasionally shows grates on my nerves. I find it borderline disrespectful at times. Aside from that I really really enjoy Aunt Tillie (maybe because I am closer to her age than Bay’s. I find Thistle and Marcus hilarious and Clove completely whiny and annoying. Even with all of that, I couldn’t stop reading at this point if I wanted too.

Pretty much perfect summer reading, this is exactly what I needed when looking for funny, light hearted fun with lovable characters and a bit of mystery and action. These witches worm a way into your heart and make small town life seem suddenly very appealing. The humour is snarky and outrageous, family turns from enemy to closest ally in the blink of an eye and suddenly I very much want an Aunt Tillie of my own.

This is a review for the whole series as I have inhaled these books at speed and to be honest I will keep on reading until I have run out of books. A new fan.

Charming--- no pun intended

Yes I've read all 6 of these books, have enjoyed them all, and plan on reading the rest of the series . This book has lots of stories rolled into one. This book has a lot to offer: a bank robbery, a murder, romances, strong women, an evil nemesis, and that's just the highlights! Take a beach day and give it a read. You will not be disappointed. And for those who follow this series, this is one of the best. And for more of the Winchesters read " The Bigfoot Blunder."

I love you.

Omg!!!! I absolutely loved this book, but how could I not when I've loved the last 5. Bay and Landon ate so stinking cute! I do wish he'd chill a bit with the bossy over protective stuff though. I'd kill him! Lol Marcus and Thistle are such an awesome pair too. Her craziness to his chillness is perfect! And...... FINALLY!!!! Though Clove had a lot of heartache in this book, SHE FINALLY HAS A MAN TOO!!!!! She also shows us that she can be a mean girl.
Having a look at Bay's high school days with her bully was a bit sad, but oh how sweet revenge is 😋

I enjoyed another series by the same author, and her books are free on Kindle Unlimited, so I gave this series a chance, reading all the books back to back, so they all run into each other in my head. It was fun. If you like cozies (light mysteries without much suspense - think "Murder She Wrote") and you like paranormal novels, this series is perfect for you. The characters are loveable and a lot of fun. The mysteries are not that hard to solve, but enjoyable all the same. Aunt Tillie is a really funny character.

Robbery, murder and mayhem in Hemlock Cove.

Bay is not looking forward to the anniversary festival that Hemlock Cove is holding to celebrate their change into a themed town that focuses on the paranormal, especially witches. Because it's asking those people that have moved away to come back to town, and one of those people is her nemesis from high school, Lila. But when they meet again the local bank is held up and a cashier is murdered. Landon comes in to town to help the sheriff and Cove's new boyfriend is framed. Another great book.

O. M. G. This family! Witches, ghosts, a bunch of women living together (because that’s always a good idea), granny running around in helmet and inappropriate leggings hexing people. I just can’t put these books down. I’ve read the whole series and am getting ready to start over. I like Amanda M. Lee in general for the snark level and fun characters. You can be guaranteed that if you like funny hijinks, hunky guys, quirky families and paranormal settings, Ms. Lee will be a solid choice every time. P.S. She also writes as Lily Harper Hart and her Harper Harlow Series is hysterical.

Old Nemesis, New Crime, Tilly’s Creative Reprisals, Clove’s Guy

Bay’s high school reunion is coming up, and she is so not thrilled. Mean girl, Lila Stevens, and her mean girl friends show up, of course, and Bay is having a hard time with residual school days’ insecurity. Landon is just fine with being Bay’s arm candy, and there is a truly adorable scene at the fair.

In the midst of this, of course, there is a robbery, a gun, and a ghost, And worst, just as the Winchesters are beginning to get comfortable with Clove’s new boyfriend .. it looks like he may be a suspect.

Definitely, one of my favorite series.
