Does love at first sniff exist? Archer and Paige seem to think so. Well, more like Archer says yes and Paige says no. But don’t worry, they’ll work it out in the bedroom.

Wereferret Paige Baxter has an itty-bitty shifting problem. Mainly she spontaneously shifts, and that’s a problem. Her answer is to remain calm, practice yoga, and stay away from anything that could scare her… or surprise her… or arouse her. Of course, the super-hottie ?hunk of werecougar ?she runs into at the M&M Mating Agency ticks off all three “must never happen at once” boxes.

Paige does what any embarrassed, self-respecting woman would do in that situation—she runs. Unfortunately—or fortunately—cats love a good hunt.

The M&M Mating Agency: We deal in matings, not chocolate.

I liked it. Shifter romances are my crack, so I had fun with this. This is a short, simple read of a wereferret and a werecougar. It’s not re-inventing the wheel and that’s fine by me. It was cheap (99 pennies) and helped kill some time on the ride home. If you love your BBW heroines and protective alpha heroes with a good dose of insta-love, check it out.

Well this was a very short read but just so funny. I'm not usually a fan of light frothy romances but have to confess the sheer enjoyment I got from the situation in this book totally surprised me. Paige is having a bad day, by that I mean it's just going downhill so fast you can imagine she is jet propelled! First off a job interview goes badly wrong, then she finally meets her fated Mate but is in no condition to cope with all that entails , keeps shifting unexpectedly into her inner ferret and to add insult to injury nearly gets run over!
Werecouger Archer has decided to do something positive about finding himself a Mate because hey if his younger brother Holt can find his then it should be a breeze for Archer. First stop the M and M Mating agency and what do you know there she is! Just one scent of the rather cute little ferret and Archer is on the hunt but she doesn't seem that keen! No no no Archer is not giving up and will use every trick in his arsenal to find her and when he does he just isnt letting go no matter what or who gets in the way!
Poor Paige has never quite mastered the art of keeping control of her ferret and keeps shifting spontaneously. Sometimes it's just a few whiskers but then there's the other times when her fight or flight mode kicks in and yep small and furry rules the day! Her family are embarrassed by her and she is so tired of blundering awkwardly from one embarrassing situation to another. Now she's being hunted by a very persistent cat and you know what there's just something so sexy about this fiercely protective and patient male. If only Archer didn't keep setting off her ferret and then there's the tiny problem ( oh who am I kidding? Huge problem!) of the most interfering family on the planet! Mates are fated but families come first, don't they? Or do you get to make your own family and if so could werecougers ever accept a ferret or will they eat her?
This book was short, funny and had a happy ending . Yes it's sexy but it's not a book that just focuses on the erotic aspect and it was the storyline and the trials of the couple that kept me happily turning the pages . No cliff hangers , hurrah but we do get introduced to interesting supporting characters and there's a certain guy with purple eyes that has this reader intruigued
Four and a half from me

“Cute n’ cuddly, boys. Cute n’ cuddly!” – Skipper, The Penguins of Madagascar

Celia and Mina’s Quick and Furry series, of which Hunting a Mate is number 6, is a series of short-story length tales based around the M&M Mating Agency, run by Mari Roe and her brother, troublemaker Maddox. Mari and Maddox’s business sets up shifters who are looking for their mates. All these stories are quick reads, and can’t help but make you smile. This is HEA on steroids!

Paige Baxter is a ferret shifter, and a PR specialist who arrives at M&M in response to a job ad. Of course, Mari and Maddox’s rather “unusual” approach to marketing, and their requirement that employees actually sign-up for the services of the agency, send Paige over the edge. “They are a lawsuit waiting to happen!” Then Maddox comes in, starts flirting with Paige, and Bam, there is her ferret. You see, Paige has a little ‘issue’ with her ferret – and with a really nasty mom and sisters . . . Running out of the office, Paige runs full-out into a cougar shifter, and life gets even stranger, and a lot more fun.

Be prepared to laugh, because all the Quick and Furry are fun and this one is definitely on the ‘cute and cuddly’ side of things!

I received this book from the author in exchange for a realistic review. All thoughts are my own. Thanks, Mina and Celia!

OMG, I absolutely love it, I laughed so much I had to run to the bathroom before I had an accident!

M&M Dating Agency didn't even get a chance this time, she ran out and he ran after her, his mate!

Paige is a were ferret and she is highly nervous, so much so that her family calls her poof cause whenever she feels threatened, or gets nervous poof the whiskers come out no matter where she is.

Now guess who her mate is, yep you got it it's Archer, Holts' brother the were cougar! What a combination a ferret and a cougar! Can you imagine and as finicky as Paige is. Archer turns out to be much more than anyone could haven imagined though.

So much patience, understanding and love. And get ready to roll on the floor laughing cause you will guaranteed!

You rock Ms. Kyle & Ms. Carter!

I love this book. I laughed 'till I cried and my stomach hasn't had such a good workout in weeks. 5 very well earned stars.

'Hunting A Mate' is the sixth book in the brilliant Quick & Furry series of short and funny paranormal romances by Celia Kyle and Mina Carter. I love these authors, both individually and together, and have read all the Quick & Furry books to date, so I was over the moon when this came out. I howled with laughter all the way through the first two chapters until my ribs ached and my eyes were streaming so much I couldn't see the page. I didn't want to put it down, but had to take a quick break to wipe the tears of laughter off my face before I could carry on. I think my partner thought I'd completely lost it, and probably still will when I dissolve into belly shaking laughter at the mere thought of a revolving door.

I loved nearly all the characters in this steamy story of true mates were-ferret Paige Baxter and were-cougar Archer Moore who pass each other in the lobby of the M&M Mating Agency, which makes it's second appearance of the series. I felt somewhat sorry for Paige's sister, Mel, but the other one? I really didn't like her at all. I don't usually hate characters, dislike sometimes, yes, but never hate...until Paige's mother appeared. Now she's an evil character I really hated and think she got a lot less than she deserved.

This is a fantastic addition to the series and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a good paranormal romance. You have got to read this book.

This book was really comical and sweet. It cracked me up. It started off during a Paige's job interview at the M&M Mating Agency, which wasn't going so good based on agencies premise. The other owner of the company Maddox entering the room and ogling and hitting on Paige further suggests that this is not the job for her. So as politely as she can manage she gets up to leave, but do to Maddox's attentions, she is on the edge of shifting into her were ferret form. Yup, were ferret. Me personally, I'd be pissed if I shifted into anything that small- I feel short as it is. As she is storming out of the building, the elevator sounds and out comes her very own mate, Archer, who is a were cougar. Archer had returned to the M&M Mating Agency on his own behalf, because his last visit had been for his brother Holt, and now Archer wants his own mate and cubs. So, this is a happy moment, in theory... because Paige is still on edge and admires Archer as she passes by him, until they both realize...MATE. Then she full on shifts inside the elevator, and the chase is on. Archer runs down the stairwell trying to keep up with and find his mate, he runs into trouble exiting the building, darn revolving doors. But, Paige gives him the slip in the end. Happy ending is that Paige is his Holt's mate's(Chloe) best friend, so he found her again soon after the chase. There is more shifting ahead, a bit of family drama( sound fun), family bonding, and more...keep reading.

The hero, Archer, of this book is one of my favorite heroes. He was sweet, smart, fierce, and protective. His reaction to finding out his (he is a cougar) mate is a ferret with issues controlling her shifting was perfect! Instead of thinking the gods were crazy… after all… FERRET?? Or being embarrassed by her lack of control… He picks her up, cuddles her and makes her feel safe. He even protects her from her domineering mother. (Possible spoiler) **When Paige’s mother tries to scare Paige into shifting using an air horn, he returns the favor by bellowing at her and threatening to scare her into shifting by roaring at her. The mother starts popping whiskers (the first sign of shifting) and leaves in a huff.** The mother was truly despicable. When you read the book you will realize exactly why. Celia Kyle’s and Mina Carter’s books always lighten my day. They are funny, sexy, feel good romances. As always this book ends with a wonderful HEA. Received an ARC. This did not effect my review in any way. (Trust me… If I didn‘t like the book I would either not leave a review… out of respect for the author giving me a ARC or if it was truly bad leave one detailing exactly what was wrong with the book.) On a side note… I love that these authors have an underlying message in some of their books… It doesn’t matter what you are (cougar, ferret, human, shifter) love is love.

This was way different than Holt's story. Different circumstances but with Archer, Holt's brother. We have sweet funny Paige. She's got sort of a shifting issue. I felt really sorry for her. She was so cute though and Archer just loved her little quirk. I can NOT believe her family! OMG...her mother? What kind of mother does that? What kind of mother tries to control their daughter and takes advantage of her issue to get her to do what she wants her to do? Her other sister Melanie isn't so bad we find out. She didnt realize how bad things were for Paige...which was her fault for not being in tuned with her own sister. I just cant believe her mother called Mel's boyfriend to have SEX with Paige during her heat all because her mother didn't want her mating with a cougar shifter? OH NO SHE DIDNT! Archer is beyond pissed! Hurting her other daughter to prevent that? Geez...what a mother! She should get mother of the year! NOT! Archer was so sweet and sexy wanting to wait and get to know Paige and ease her into things and get better control of her shifting problem. Oh so sweet! Dude...Maddox is cruising for a bruising! Or a mauling! lol Anyways, can't wait for the next one! HEHE.

Another yummy read in this quick and furry series!! Plenty of story happening her to keep you hopping.

What a delicious read this was, love everything about this series!! This book filed in the gaps for me with the adding agency that popped up in th least book. Looks like that is the direction the rest of the series might be headed. Laugh out loud antics from the two owners, an oops problem and an overbearing mother, really sleeps things moving.

Paige is a terrific character and well balanced with ever patient Archer. It was nice seeing him find HEA. She is of course a curvy gal, but that is not the focus or hit on too much. Great positive BBW read with a fabulous sassy gal.

Th smexy is the icing on the cake. Mostly because the authors make you wait for it this time around. Plenty of lusting and dancing around the chemistry, but the steam isn't until the end of this story. And it is hawt as check when you get there!!!

I already jumped into th next book and need to get back to find out about Mel an the bear!! Awesomesauce

“Pop”larious !!!

Ever need a highly entertaining, funny, sexy, short but sweet paranormal romance? Then I encourage you to read Hunting for a Mate by Celia Kyle and Mina Carter. Regardless of your shape, size or species, the M&M Mating Agency is THE dating agency to use when in search of a mate. Even non-clients of the agency can stumble upon their mate. That’s exactly what happens when Paige, a cute wereferret with a slight shifting problem and Archer, a strong and fierce werecougar have a chance encounter at the agency. A wereferret and a werecougar are the two most unlikely species you’d expect to mate. However, they are fated mates after all and like any couple, they have a few obstacles to overcome. No spoilers here but undoubtedly, they come together in a magical and poplarious fashion. Another great “Quick and Furry” installment.

Disclosure: I was given an advanced reader copy from the publisher/author for a review.

This was such a fun book. I loved Paige's itty-bitty shifting problem, where she would spontaneously pop a whisker or just shift completely.
If you have never read any Celia Kyle's work, you have to, they might be short, but they are fun and sweet and just hit the spot when you are looking for something quick to read.

Received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I've documented my issues with CK's shorter stories repeatedly in previous reviews, so I'm just gonna skip it this time. This is a fun, sexy short read. I upped it from my standard three star rating for this kind of story just for Paige being a ferret who can't control her shifts. I found the whisker popping endlessly amusing. Archer is you typical yummy alpha shifter but shows great restraint in how he handles his fearful ferret. My only complaint is that we never got to see the cougar and the ferret play in their animal forms.

No cliffhanger - shifter quick read.

Kindle Unlimited standalone in series of short stories. Loved how the characters knew each other and story played off other characters stories. She cannot handle her shift. Here family has always put her down. Her mate? He thinks it's cute and wants to help her overcome her problems and mate him. Cute story and it had some really funny and hot parts. Solid 4 star read.

Hunting a Mate is Archer (Holt’s brother from Wanting a Mate) and Paige’s story. It’s longer than Wanting a Mate was, and cute but I didn’t quite click as well with these two as I did with Holt and Chloe (I was happy to see them again). Paige has this cute/embarrassing quirk of shifting (partially or fully) when surprised, scared or aroused - but Archer’s effect on this and on Paige herself is positive (especially when she finally stands up to her awful mother). I wish I could’ve seen more growth from both of them, but it’s a short, quick read. I liked it, I just didn’t love it.

The perfect guy!
Archer is the perfect guy. He has the utmost patience with his mate, even with her spontaneous shifts, anxiety and panic attacks, and the mother-in-law from down below. It's a wonder Paige is sane at all, with a mother who has sabotaged her all of her life. Archer stands up for her and even takes in the younger sister who has just gone with the flow instead of stepping up to the plate for her sister. This book was a quick read, but perfect in it's shortness, character build up and flow of the story.

Short and Fun

This was the first book I read from the M&M Mating Agency, and I'm happy to say it did not disappoint. I guess any collaboration between Celia Kyle and Mina Carter will always be a must read for me from now on.

If you are into shifter romance, I highly recommend this book, and everything else Kyle and Carter!

What I liked about this book:
-The characters were connected to those in Wanting A Mate
-It was about a cougar and a ferret, animals that would be predator and prey.
- Paige didn't have control of her shifting and that the smallest of things could make her sprout whiskers to fully shift. It was a cute little quality that made me like her.

Fast, Enjoyable Read

I read this book in about three hours so it was a good distraction during these times. I liked Archer and Paige and the fact that he accepted her for who she was and as she was, no questions asked. Her little problem didn't bother him and he was so patient with her and willing to wait for her to be ready. I also liked the humorous parts.

This just didn't work as a short story. There's so much going on that it needs to be longer to get the full weight of the story. There's a lack of closure for the storyline of the heroine's family storyline. It's a good story but needed to be longer.

Great

This book was really good. It had a beginning, middle and end and pulled together quite nicely. Throw in an in-law that needs a lifetime of attitude adjustments and pure gold comes out the other side.
