I have been back to Sweet Cove, Massachusetts to visit the Roseland Sisters, Angie, Jenna, Ellie, and Courtney.

Angie is almost ready to open her Sweet Shop again and she really cannot wait. Tom has let her see what is finished and she is anxious to get started.

The girls are all set to help plan a wedding for a Senator's Daughter, when Bethany, the bride comes to tell then that her intended has been killed and the wedding is off!

Of course the girls are willing to put their powers to work to find the murderer and to have their friend, Mr. Finch help them. He also has powers that have helped the girls in the past.

After going through all the wedding guests, the girls are still at a loss as to who did it. But they keep at it and use everything they can.

This Sweet mystery is like the others in the series that has me reading and reading. Each has a mystery that is well hidden and well written and keeps you guessing until the end.

This is a great series and I am on my way to number 6.

Overall, not bad but more than a little cheesy.  Very light and fluffy sort of story, not a bad book, but a little lacking in substance.  The victim was barely introduced and with so little detail about him, it was difficult for me to connect with the story.  Too much cheesy romance, and frankly,no cop would summon people to his crime scene who aren't in the law enforcement field and really have nothing to add except "cold feelings" and "thrumming."   WTF?  As a result, I'm left with so much apathy that this is about all I can come up with for this review.

Read about half of this book then skipped to the end. Not worth my time reading. It's pretty bad, using the cats and the psychic sisters to solve the mystery. Cannot stand the cats and the inept Chief of Police. Not much mystery going on in these books. So the "Light" in the title is exactly that ... light in content, light in my interest. This is the last book I will read in this series.

The Roseland Sisters have been contacted by Josh Williams at the Sweet Cove Resort on Robin's Point to each aid a Bride that is having a wedding practically next week! Angie will bake the cake, Jenna will design and make the wedding jewelry and gifts, Courtney and Mr. Fitch will make the candies and favors, and Ellie will be the wedding coordinator. It's a dream and is over all too quickly once the girls meet the Bride who is running away from the Father, and her Groom??? What is going on? The questions increase when the Groom is found murdered.

The Chief of Police asks the Sisters for their special help and why is the Man of Honor receiving death threats? The cats are on the prowl and we learn at the end that love can triumph over adversity.

This novel has excitement, mysteries, and romance. It is a great bridge book in this wonderful series.

Romance and Mystery!

Such a fun and enticing book in this series. I've read the previous four and look forward to the next. These books are for someone who enjoys a murder mystery, not particularly violent, and light-hearted romantic stories.

Angie is asked to supply the wedding cake and desserts, for the wedding of two uber rich families daughter and son, while Courtney is asked to supply a choice of treats for the gift bags, Jenna is to make some jewelry for the wedding party, and Ellie is to act as a wedding consultant to help organize the quickly approaching event.
Senator Winston is worth over two billion dollars, while the Nelson's: the grooms' family, is worth even more. Bethany Winston is engaged to Nelson Rider because that is what is expected of her, even though she is in love with someone else. Nelson is nefarious as a player. Could one of his affairs, or side dealings be the cause of the murder?
J.A. Whiting wrote a great tale with lots of suspense, a bit of humor, and even some romance built in. It was a fun read and a list of suspects that made it difficult to figure out the murderer until the big reveal.

I forgot how much I missed visiting Sweet Cove since I haven't read anything in the series for quite a while. I love the characters and feel like I'm coming home to old friends...and two fine felines, of course!

I wasn't totally sure most of the book on the whodunit, but I started getting a suspicion that turned out correct. I love how Angie and Jenna got the whole take down set up and didn't even have to be there. The ending was sweet as could be expected for a town named Sweet Cove, and a happy couple got their happily ever after, and another couple just got started on that journey! I need to visit again soon!

This is a real “who did it”!

Suspects are unknown; motive is unknown. The sleuths are hard at work testing for clues and the cats are confused with the uncertainties of the situation. In the end, the perp is someone who is least mentioned and least visible. Saying all of this, the story has strong plots and characterizations. The victim, however, not so much.

The kitchen remodel is complete and Angie will soon be able to reopen her Coffee & Bake Shop in her house alongside Ellie’s B&B and Jenna’s jewelry boutique.

Adorable!

The end was A Plus. Yay.

The four sisters aren’t really using their supernatural powers. I want them to really grasp those and practice and do cool things.

This story was about a senator’s son who was shot and it was up to the sisters and their two cats to solve the mystery (since apparently the Chief of Police wasn’t having any luck. Lol.

Nothing much to say about this one. It was similar to the last 4. Maine book 6, “Home Sweet Home” will be better and psychic visions will occur.

Sweet, Awesome Series

I love the main characters in this series. The relationship the sisters and the significant people (and felines) in their lives share is delightful. I love the close, small town flavor of the stories and the way the characters seem to encourage and support each other. It's nice to have a fresh, complicated mystery without having it filled with excessive sex or violence. Well done, J A Whiting!

So many things of happened in the series.

It seems that all of these things have interfered in the powers that have come to the girls. They finally found a way to get out of it and solve the mystery one more time. Most of the book is a page turner. unfortunately the resolve Proved to be a little bit of a downer. All in all I’ve enjoyed the series

Love this entire series! This whole series has been such fun! It has everything….2 of the smartest cutest cats, 4 sisters who like each other, budding romances, mysteries to solve, cops who are not portrayed as stupid, recipes, and NO cliffhanger endings. So….curl up in a comfy chair with a cup of tea and solve the mysteries, and enjoy.

Magical cozy mystery alert! 🚨
Sweetness and Light, the 5th book in the Sweet Cove Mystery series by J. A. Whiting, is a charming, magical, light-hearted cozy mystery that will leave you smiling. It’s not a book you can take too seriously, but it’s definitely fun and filled with lovely characters, intriguing cats with special abilities, friendship, sisterhood, and a mystery at its core. If you’re looking for a quick, delightful, cozy read as a bookish palate cleanser or a mood-booster, then this series is for you!

The Wedding

Another good book by one of my favorite authors. Although the sisters and Mr Finch along with their trusty sidekicks, Euclid and Circe kept me turning the pages until the murderer was apprehended. Recommend this one to all my friends as usual

A funeral and a wedding

I am truly enjoying this series! With four sisters and various businesses and friends there are more than enough possibilities for many different mysteries. The stories and the characters are very well developed. Can’t wait for the next book!

Another sweet treat

This is a nice, light confection, not exactly challenging or deep, but a pleasant diversion, nonetheless. The vague paranormal elements are appropriate, the mystery is logical, and the main characters are nice.

It is a mystery and a good one. Not as suspenseful as previous books but there is enough. A great read.
