A new dark romance series from the New York Times bestselling author of Twist Me

She fears him from the first moment she sees him.

Yulia Tzakova is no stranger to dangerous men. She grew up with them. She survived them. But when she meets Lucas Kent, she knows the hard ex-soldier may be the most dangerous of them all.

One night—that’s all it should be. A chance to make up for a failed assignment and get information on Kent’s arms dealer boss. When his plane goes down, it should be the end.

Instead, it's just the beginning.

He wants her from the first moment he sees her.

Lucas Kent has always liked leggy blondes, and Yulia Tzakova is as beautiful as they come. The Russian interpreter might’ve tried to seduce his boss, but she ends up in Lucas’s bed—and he has every intention of seeing her there again.

Then his plane goes down, and he learns the truth.

She betrayed him.

Now she will pay.

A Dark, Edgy Love Story

Lucas first lays eyes on Yulia when she serves as a translator during a meeting between his boss, a notorious arms dealer, and some Russian contacts. In a room full of dangerous criminals, Yulia's beauty beckoned him.

He found himself unable to forget the blonde beauty, even after watching her throw herself at his boss. Determined to work her out of his system, he goes to her apartment that night, surprised to find her receptive to his advances. The two spend a night of passion together, ending when Lucas has to leave Moscow in the morning.

While Yulia needs to extract information to report back to her boss, she has to change her plans when the arms dealer declines her advances. Instead, she finds herself with his second-in-command, a man who turns her own as much as he frightens her. She almost regrets telling her boss about when the pair will be departing from Moscow, knowing that it will likely be the end of their lives, but she reminds herself of the job she was sent to do and the lives that depend upon her ability to complete it.

After having their plane shot down shortly after departing Moscow, it doesn't take long for Lucas to figure out how information about their flight plan was leaked. In hardly any time at all, Yulia has been tracked down by their Russian contacts for interrogation.

Alive, but injured, Lucas makes arrangements to take Yulia into his custody. He wants to personally oversee her interrogation and make her pay for betraying him. He hates her as much as he desires her.

From the start, the sexual tension was off the charts between Yulia and Lucas. They had incredible chemistry and the sex scenes were smoldering. The betrayal and lust combined to make a perfect level of emotional turmoil throughout this book.

Overall, this was a great read! It was relatively fast-paced and straightforward. It wasn't as dark as I'd expected it to be, but it was still a fantastic story. As foretold at the end of this book, Yulia's captivity has only just begun, so that may change. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series immediately.

Wow, I absolutely love it. Since this is a spin off from the Twist Me Series I highly recommend reading that series first! Capture Me starts off even darker than the Twist Me books and I have a pretty good feeling about how the story will continue. I'm a big fan of this author, so I know I'm in for a book treat. It's just one of those things where you can be relaxed knowing everything you read will be very good and also satisfying in the end.

description

Since we do get to see a small glimpse of Lucas and Yulia in the previous series, I was super excited about the news that Anna also wrote a complete series for them. I love how their story starts, although it's totally unromantic, since she tries to kill him but oh well, no love is perfect, right? To be honest, if all were roses and hearts it would be just plain boring. So a bit (a lot) of passion and sexual tension is the way to go in my book.

description

As already said, this book is a bit darker for me than the first book of Twist Me Series. We get thrown into lots of action and hot scenes right away. It's all about manipulation, secrecy, deceit, betrayal and of course about what happens when your feelings get in the way of doing your job and you in the end get caught by the same person you tried to kill. Well...let's just say I enjoyed this story a lot! There is a reason why I'm such a fan of Anna's and when you read her stories you'll totally get it. Only thing left to do is start reading the next book!

5 STARS!

Dark reading at its finest!

Book 1: 5 STARS
Book 2: 5 STARS
Book 3: 4 STARS
It's not tender and pretty.
Overall an amazing series. Book 3 became a bit repetitive and I wish the author had softened Lucas' character sooner, but if you're into 'captivity' reads, this series shouldn't be missed.

Be sure to buy book 1 and 2 together as they're more like novella length. Book 3 is a full-length book and is worth the money.

Happy reading my dark and depraved friends!

When I saw the sign up sheet making it's rounds on facebook I had to jump on it because it promises to be a new dark romance series and now and then I have to read something a wee bit more sinister than my norm, hopefully this delivers on the dark..

Ok so for me I wouldn't go so far as to call this dark, BUT it does have me sitting on the edge of my seat biting my nails trying to read faster to see what's going to happen, the suspence is a killer..As soon as I started this my eyes have been glued to my ipad..

One mission, One seduction, One night of passion, One betrayal, One man after revenge.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

YULIA

I want him - this hard, confusing man who is my captor. I want him more than I fear him.

She fears him from the first moment she sees him.

Lucas Kent, Esguerra's right hand man unnerves her more than the man she's out to get, for some reason though even though he unnerves her she's instantly drawn to him.

For men like Lucas Kent, violence go hand in hand.

Thank god he's not the one I need to seduce, it will be much, much easier to fake it with his boss.

ONE NIGHT OF PASSION

I'm used to dangerous men. I was raised among them. This man is not that different.

LUCAS

She's my prisoner. I can do anything I want to her. I've never forced a woamn, but I've never wanted and hated one at the same time.

She's been mine since I laied eyes on her in Moscow.

In Esguerra's service, I've killed and tortured both men and women, and I've felt no qualms.

I've only read one other by this author and that was "Twist Me" which I cray cray loved, this is no differnt with the aspect of easily being drawn into the story, the unknown factor of what's around the corner, and the underlying darkness is what's keeping me racing through the pages to see what's going to come at me next..

These two are equals in more ways than one, both know how to survive, both are un breakable components, both have had extensive training of some degree..

Yulia is a Ukranian spy on a mission to seduce an arms dealer in order to gain information, but as her assignment fails she somehow ends up letting herself be seduced by the arms dealer’s dangerous right hand man. Lucas has always had a weakness for leggy blondes and Yulia is just is type. After a night of wild and hot sex, the plane carrying him, his boss and 50 if their men goes down. It doesn’t take him long to figure out that Yulia has betrayed him and Lucas is set on revenge.

I thought the book was brilliantly written. Although it wasn’t the darkest I’ve ever read, this wasn’t a fluffy read by any means, there were moments that definitely had me uncomfortable. Both these characters are very interesting with their emotions torn between fear, revenge, anger and lust.

The pace was great in this longish novella with lots of twists and there are just enough secrets being revealed to keep you turning pages and questions arising to wet your appetite and keep you craving answers. Yulia is still very much a mystery and I’m curious to learn more about her. With Lucas’ battle between anger and lust and his allegiance and loyalties lying with his boss and their men, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the next instalment.

All in all an excellent read with lots of action and nail-biting suspense.

****5 'BEAUTIFUL' STARS****

What an amazing start to this series!!

 photo fassy_zps8idfkogn.gif

The author pulled me in and didn't let go until the last page. Overall, Capture Me is a book filled with suspense, crime, danger and lust! It is very well written with a good flowing storyline and does leave you guessing to what is going to happen next with twists and turns.

The story: Lucas is a relentless mercenary working for Julian Esguerra, a crime boss. Yulia is a young beautiful woman working as an interpreter involved in espionage work. Her new target is Esguerra and her assignment is to seduce the arms dealer in order to obtain valuable information. What she’s not expecting is Esguerra to resist her charms. Lucas, his second-in-command, however, takes particular notice of her beauty and her charms. Lucas and Yulia feel the intense sexual attraction towards each other and get lost to desire for one night.

 photo 8858905_zpsalofxf44.gif

The following day, the private airplane of Esguerra is struck by a missile and is crashed. Only five people survive the crash; Lucas and Esguerra are among of them. Yulia draws their suspicions and Lucas is determined to find out who is behind the attack and why Yulia betrayed him. While being held by Lucas, Yulia can’t deny the connection there is to him. She fears him but also wants him. Lucas has a soft spot for Yulia and it seems that desire and fear can sleep in the same bed!

My thoughts: The dynamic between Lucas and Yulia was fantastic. There was some serious chemistry there. So much sexual tension! I liked the suspense angle and how the author blended the characters together to flow through her book. The sexual tension went through the roof in this book! That tension that Yulia and Lucas held in the beginning really sparked up the story and drove the rest of it into gear.

Fuckin damn...
OKay...
I was really looking forward to reading about Lucas Kent and that little translator Yulia that got in between with the betrayal, causing the ordeal to go terribly wrong...
Now she's a captive and she needs to pay...

well, inspite of the promising and intriguing blurb here, I found it quite disappointing and flattening in the whole emotional section...

I actually, had a hard time dealing with the "feels" that Lucas was turmoiling with within, cause well, in my opinion, there weren't any basis for that...considering they had merely fucked once, then the betrayal happened, then the capturing/punishment happens...

but honestly, i didn't find the mutually consentual sexual intercourse as punishment, even if her hands were tied down, there were no force actions...well, duh?! Bring it on!

And then her "story" gets to him and he starts "feeling" and all the "torment" goes to shit...

how about that for a plan, huh?!

so well, the tension from there went flat as a blown away balloon...

too bad, really :/

You know when have days, weeks and months of crap in RL and with books it is sometimes no different? Yep well me, too. I had a couple of flops and you can’t help but not want to

 photo smack my head_zpsxkhtk7xi.png

And then finally, after a bad streak where you are also shit out of luck. You get a book, a book that you can only shout out

 photo Amazeballs_zpsrmv3hd4f.png

A brief outline of the book.
I want a Lukas Kent all for me own. In comparison with Julian and Nora's books I prefer this series from what I've read so far.

Yulia became an Ukrainian spy at the age of eleven. We don't know all of what happened to her but we get bits and pieces. She is kick arse, strong and I would want her in my corner if I had to walk down a dark alley at night. She does it all to protect her brother Misha. You protect family no matter what and use any mean to the end.

Even if that means that the man, even if it was after one night of pure lust but they touched one another on a different level. She has feelings for him.

Kent, Julian's right hand man, feels as if he has been betrayed. It shouldn't cut deep but it does. He is out for revenge but when it comes to taking his revenge he can’t. He hesitates and he doesn't know why.

-Everything inside me screams that she’s mine-, mine to fuck, mine to punish in any way I choose. -

The chemistry and the steamy scenes. Good Lord where is me fan.

I had a fool proof plan, well at least I thought so anyway. I bought this for 0,99 € and thought nooo , I won't start it just yet. I’ll wait until book 2 is out. I’m loving book 1 and have nearly finished where I find out that there is a book 3 with no release date!

So I have to ask you Ms. Zaires

This time it’s the turn of Lucas Kent and Yulia Tzakova. Yulia is the translator who betrayed them. She’s the reason the plane Lucas was flying went down and so many men were killed.
She’s now his prisoner and he should hate her. But he wants her, the one night they spent together wasn’t anywhere near enough.

I have to admit I’m not feeling this as much as I did the Twist Me series. But it’s Bind Me next so.....fingers crossed.

3.5 "I STILL DON'T LIKE THE BLONDE BITCH" STARS.

First off, this was too short... and ending with a cliffy, hell no! Even though this book was not about Rosa, who was the one who deserved to be the main character, I still had been waiting for it, but sadly it was not what I was expecting. I wanted more. It was not enough. It was starting to get intense and then boom "THE END". Not cool.

I love Anna writing, so yes, cannot wait to read the next book and see how this story is going to end. I know is going to get better!!!

And please I want ROSA OR PETER book!
That is all. Mwah.

Y'all be prepared for me to rant about shit.

First things first; if I had known that this was a sort of companion novel / spinoff of Twist Me, I wouldn't have read it. That is my single biggest problem with this book. Nowhere in the synopsis is this mentioned.

And I don't hate the idea of books that decide to do spinoffs novels or series. But in this case, Nora and Julian (aka the couple kidnapper and his victim in Twist Me) are given entirely too much focus. Lucas in particular, but also several side characters, spend a frankly ridiculous amount of time talking about Juilan and his kidnapped wife. I get it, Julian and Lucas work together. But the way they talk about it irks: "oh I kidnapped an 18 year old girl and now she's totally my wife haha #relationshipgoals!"

Continuing the character train of thought, I moderately liked Yulia at first! I like spies, double agents, undercover in enemy territory - all that stuff is perfect fodder for a ridiculous, fun, and action packed plot. So Yulia is a translator / totally off the books spy / honey pot. I mean, how fun right?

I barely got any fun spy stuff! Talk about a disappointment. I just want a little bit of spy ass kicking, okay?

Then there's Lucas Kent. If you're going to write a violent, rage-filled asshole as one of your main characters, let them be bad. Because the second you start pretending that badness just needs the love of the perfect woman, that oh he's secretly good on the inside, you've lost me.

Would you like to see some examples of Lucas Kent, the story's "good guy"? Of course you do, and since this is my review, I will do it anyway.

She invited me in, said she wanted me—her body fucking told me she wanted me—and now she was acting like it was all some big mistake.

My hunger turns dark, lust intermingling with rage and frustration. How fucking dare she do this to me? She’s mine—her body’s mine to do with what I will. I don’t have to give her a choice. She’s my prisoner, my spoils of war, and I’ve been more than patient with her.

Despite my body’s burning need, I couldn’t bring myself to rape her.

You are not some selfless hero because you didn't rape someone. That's the basic bottom line of decency. You don't get brownie points for wanting to rape someone, then not doing it. Fuck you.

So. Yeah. That's pretty much Capture Me in a nutshell. If you adored Twist Me, you might like this one. But it was too hard for me to get past the forced character references, asshole leading man, and wasted potential.

...he bears me down to the mattress, his hands sliding into my hair. I arch against him, and he deepens the kiss, his tongue invading my mouth and exploring it hungrily.

Capture Me is the first book in Anna Zaries' Capture Me series, which is a spin-off of her Twist Me trilogy.

♠ ♣ ♥ ♦

While Twist Me told the story of Nora and Juilan, Capture Me tells the tale of Lucas—Juilan's dangerous, deadly, right-hand man—and Yuila—a seductive Russian interpreter, who also happens to be a snitch...
She fears him from the first moment she sees him.

...and when she interprets a hush-hushed deal with the Russians and the well-known arms dealer, Julian Esguerra, she is forced to focus on luring Julian between the sheets—although it's difficult for her, when its the man sitting next to him, Lucas Kent, that unnerves Yuila in the most panty-melting way.

Instantly drawn to each other, Yuila and Lucas end up falling into bed...for one night of hopelessly-ending passion. But those hours of rough sex and high-heat sparks an explosion that has the force to end Lucas' life.
He wants her from the first moment he sees her.

But when Lucas survives, he knows it was Yuila who betrayed him—and now, he's after the sweetest sort of revenge that both terrifies and excites Yuila.

♠ ♣ ♥ ♦

Capture Me is a long novella/short novel that was extremely well-written—with a suspenseful balance between dark, intense erotic seconds that made my breath hitch, and poignant, romantic moments that made me bite my lip on a sigh.
She's mine—her body's mine to do with what I will. I don't have to give her a choice. She's my prisioner, my spoils of war, and I've been more than patient with her.

Overall: this book thrilled me, the mystery of the characters intrigued me, and I was lost when it ended...and even now, I'm craving, lusting, hoping, captured for of Yuila and Lucas.
This act, this soul-tearing thing that happened between us, impresses upon me more than ever...

4 "Traitor or Victim?" Stars for the story and narration.

If you enjoyed the Twist Me Trilogy by Anna Zaires and Dima Zales then you will want to continue the dangerous, adventure filled world in Capture Me. Although Capture Me is a spin-off of the Twist Me Trilogy, the Capture Me trilogy could still be read or listened to as a standalone as it primarily features a different couple. For those of you who did experience the first trilogy, however, you will be happy to know that you still continue to see glimpses of how Julian and Nora are adapting to their new life together.

Carrying on from the plot commenced in the Twist Me Series, Capture Me features one of Julian's primary guards, Lucas, and the Russian interpreter, Yulia, who appears to have betrayed Julian's team. Giving us a flashback to the night when they first meet, and then quickly segueing into the aftermath of the plane crash which happens as a direct result of what Lucas and Julian believe is intelligence that Yulia shared about their whereabouts, Yulia's days appear limited until Julian through Lucas are healthy enough to come and seek their retribution from her.

However, when the day comes that he has her in his possession again, Lucas is conflicted by the passion that he still feels for Yulia after their unforgettable one night together. Being a professional, he knows what he must do, but as he tears more information from Yulia through his interrogation of her, the lines between right and wrong begin to blur.

Will Lucas stay loyal to Julian? Is Yulia's apparent passion for Lucas real or merely a keen survival mechanism of a well trained operative?

Shirl Rae and Roberto Scarlato return as narrators and do a great job with most aspects of this narration. Each can be counted on to deliver easy to listen narration passages, making it seamless for the listener to know who is speaking. Additionally the listener can feel the emotion and the mood of the scene by the narrators' tone. Perhaps my only observation on the narration is that as Yulia is Russian, I would have expected her to have a Russian accent, but the narration does not reflect this. Nonetheless, every other aspect of the narration was flawless, making this a story that can easily be enjoyed in audio format.

I enjoyed Capture Me as it still had that great hot, physical tension that I enjoyed so much in Twist Me. The passion between the two main characters is raw and primal. However, I do feel that it is important to note that this romance is definitely more mainstream and less dark or edgy than Twist Me. I would term this a "gray" romance, rather than a dark one, as there still are some edgier aspects associated with being captured but nowhere near the more dubious consent scenes that appear in the Twist Me Series.

Having started this journey, now I can't wait to continue the wild ride in Bind Me!

I didn't realize it was somewhat of a companion novel to the Twist Me series, so I was a bit shocked when I found out it was so dang short, more like a novella. It's lacking the intensity and emotional depth that I loved in the previous series.

Super steamy chemistry between Yulia and Lucas, but not sure why they both feel the way they do. I also needed the backstory of both which I'm hoping will be in the next books.

Had a blast buddy reading this with Lolina! Off to read book two!

Lucas is dangerous. Lucas is second in command man of Julian, a notorious arms dealer.
He first notices Yulia when she serves as a translator during a meeting between his boss and some Russian contacts. Later she sleeps with him, she betrays both Lucas and Julian and as a result there is a plane crash and the death of at least 40 men.
Lucas becomes obsessed with her. In the beginning he decides to keep her just to interrogate her, but later she becomes more important than the air he breaths. Everything inside him scream SHE IS MINE, MINE MINE!
He becomes possessive and protective but he hates her at the same time and he does not trust her. Because of her a lot of his brothers in arms have died.
Yulia besides being a spy, she also has personal secrets. Secrets which involve a teenager brother. A brother who she is trying to keep safe and alive.
The book ends with a cliffhanger. Keep the second and the third book close to you because I am sure you will dive in as soon as you finish the first one.
This is a spin off from Twist me series. Thus some events will be overlapping with the other trilogy, especially the second book “Keep Me” and the third book “Hold Me” – although the events in these books will be expanded to show the development of the relationship between Lucas and Yulia.
Thus, I recommend you read Twist Me beforehand which by the way it is also a great trilogy by the same author.

This is a spin-off of Twist series a story with Julian's right hand man you must read Twisted first to be able to follow through with this story line.

Lucas Kent Julian Guerra's right hand man and all around bad ass and scary as they come, what can't Lucas do, he's ex-military, he flies all of Julian planes everywhere he goes and he's head of security to the arms dealer organization. So when a beautiful leggy blond flirts with the arms dealer expecting to bed him and Julian shows no interest Lucas put in his bid for the woman.

One night is all it takes when Lucas Kent shows up at Yulia Tzakova door wanting one thing an only one thing, that is until he is completely hooked on this Russia beauty. Yulia sees this opportunity as a way to correct her failed assignment and get information from Lucas about Julian his boss next move.

Their plane was shot down, saying it was in "error". Well, being left alone with that guard that shot a missile at Guerra's plane in "Error", didn't end well for him, but now Lucas knows the truth. Feeling played and betrayed Lucas Kent is out for revenge the only person that knew the time their plane was taking off is the same woman that Lucas can't stop thinking about.

Now he has Yulia Tzakova as his prisoner she must pay...what will Lucas do?

Summary
The Capture Me series is a spin off of the Anna Zaires series, Twist Me. Our female lead, Yulia, finds herself attracted to the man she must betray. She can't let her attraction get in the way of her job. Our male lead, Lucas, is equally attracted. After a night of passion, Yulia becomes responsible for Lucas's plane crash. He wants revenge and he is determined to make her pay.

What did I think?
First, this is not a stand alone series. It contains MAJOR spoilers from the Twist Me series. If it is your intention to ever read that series (and I think you should), then you need to read it first.

Sigh. I know I'll be in the minority here, but overall, I was disappointed in this book. The entire book read like a summary of the events in the Twist Me series from a different POV. I guess I had envisioned getting a chapter or two of the Twist Me summary and then picking up where she's held by Lucas. Both Yulia and Lucas's POV were extremely predictable. There wasn't any new action or suspense. And aside from sexy as sin Lucas and his steamy love scenes (and OMG Lucas's sex scenes were panty melting!), I was bored. Finally, I felt the writing was off. Perhaps a bit choppy? I can't pinpoint it. Some of the text just didn't flow for me.

Will I read the next book? Of course! I know Ms Zaires has a good story here. It just didn't get going for me in this book. I am a fan of her Twist Me and Krinar Chronicles series and enjoy her story telling very much. I expect the next book will knock my socks off! Until then, I shall sleep well with images of Lucas Kent and his ability to make the temperature rise to extremely hot levels..

This book reminded me why I love emotional romantic stories. Every element necessary for my reading investment was there–the dangerous alpha male, the strong heroine, the compelling plot, the emotional turmoil and the hope of love. Yulia's motivations are clear and easy to sympathize with. Lucas is an antihero who doesn't make excuses for who he is. The obstacle that keeps them apart is enormous – Yulia is indirectly responsible for the death of Lucas' comrades, and it is only by miracle that he survived. The sexual tension between them is palpable. The stress is unbearable. Lucas' dilemma is clear – he simultaneously hates and desires Yulia, his prisoner. A HEA for these two flawed and likable characters seems unobtainable, and it is the hope that they will find redemption and each other that kept me turning the pages. It was impossible to put down. What I loved most is Anna Zaires' voice and her unerring ability to draw me into the psyche of each protagonist. The writing is polished and the characters well developed, not only giving me a glimpse into what makes them tick (or not), but also making me empathize with both. The description of Yulia's suffering transported me to the cold winter in Moscow, and to the gray walls of her prison cell. The conflict in Lucas is as explosive as his character. Together, the art of telling the story and Anna's technique deliver an impactful dark tale that left me impatient for the end in Bind Me.

Ugh so short and a cliffhanger?!?! I want more :( It was starting to get intense!

Anna Zaires books are my favourites and I loved that Lucas got a story and it was nice to see bits of Julian (who is my fave book boyfriend ever) as well.

After the betrayal that caused devastation to Lucas, Julian and his crew he wants revenge on the girl who did it. However Lucas struggles between the hate and lust he feels for Yulia.

“Yulia may not be “my girl,” but she’s mine.”

He's pretty possessive and protective over her and doesn't understand why because he hates her... supposedly. It's a great read and I'd recommend it if you've read her Twist Me series!

Capture Me Is Absolutely Mind-Blowing!

Capture Me is the long anticipated spinoff to the Twist Me series, and is finally here.

I’ve absolutely loved every single book written by Anna Zaires. Her stories only get better and better, and Capture Me is not the exception. Not only was I immediately sucked into the story, but in addition I found myself unwilling to put my tablet down until the very end. This is the story about two broken souls trying to fight their own demons, as their undeniable passion for each other exploded.

Yulia and Luca's story is absolutely fantastic, and did not disappoint. YES, we get it from the very beginning. Remember when Julian and Lucas traveled to Russia and the interpreter tried to seduce his boss right before their plane went down? That's right, isn't that freaking amazing? I'm also starting to understand why Julian is allowing Lucas to keep Yulia alive for now, since she was in part responsible for the attack where many of his man were killed.

Will he order her execution? Would there be a face-off between Lucas and Julian if the order is given? Is it just obsession or a forbidden dark and dangerous love?

I really feel for Yulia after meeting her up close, and want to get to know more about her. (Well, this is me talking after reading Anna's brilliant writing style. She manages to make me feel transported to their world, were I can practically touch them).

Capture Me is fast-paced, so beautifully well-written and well-developed. Intense, dark, erotic, magnetic, captivating, suspenseful, thrilling, and deeply intriguing. The characters are memorable-likable and believable, and with so much chemistry and savage passion that you can see sparks; the plot engaging, and with well-chosen settings so amazingly described. Anna's ability to find the right words to create an amazing and equally strong story line is utterly unique. I found myself playing vivid images in my mind and feeling every emotion while reading the story. Not everyone that claims to be a writer possess that ability. And that's exactly what separates a remarkable writer from everyone else.

Even though this book ends with a cliffhanger, Anna manages to leave you satisfy and just looking forward for the next installment. OMG! I Can't wait to find out was going to happened next.

If you like Dark Romance Genre, I highly recommend this book.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and I'm so grateful for that (WHOO-HOO). However, make no mistake because I already have pre-order my copy to add to my collection as I always do.

Oh Lucas and Yulia

Where do I start? I actually read the Tormentor Mine series first. I just need to read book 4 from that series but many people were recommending that I read the Twist Me trilogy as well as the Capture Me trilogy before I read book 4. So here I am...

The book starts off with Lucas and Yulia’s meeting where she is serving as a translator for Julian Esguerra. Lucas feels instantly attracted to her and she notices him noticing her. She tries to seduce Julian, but he is completely faithful to his wife, Nora (main characters of the Twist Me trilogy), and he declines, but Lucas wants her. Lucas goes to Yulia’s apartment that night and their relationship begins. But, she betrays him by revealing Lucas and Julian’s travel plans for the next morning and he eventually finds out she gave them up- thus, his revenge plan begins.

The chemistry between these two characters is intense, blazing hot and visceral. I just finished this book and have already one-clicked book 2. I need to know what happens!!!

⚠️safety squad⚠️
-noncon/dubcon scenes
-kidnapping/typing up of h by the H
-no cheating
-I don’t remember any owd (guess I need to reread)
-no omd really (the h is asked to seduce men, which she was supposed to do to Julian) since the H basically kidnaps her and ties her up all day 😅

3.5 ⭐️
I think my rating is partially due to the fact I have not read the other series that spawned this one. And, because I didn’t, I think there is some important backstory I might be missing that is critical to this story. Therefore, it was a little hard for me to be invested in these characters right away because I didn’t know their motives or history.

As far as the story goes, it starts with a bang right away. Intrigue and spy games and a hot and heavy bedroom scene.

There’s quite a bit of action and the story moves along super quick. I definitely wasn’t bored.

As far as chemistry, it was slightly lacking for me as I didn’t feel a connection between these two. It may come later, so I’m not giving up on them.

Also, I’m not really sure what to think of Lucas. He’s definitely ruthless and has no qualms about taking someone’s life or using torture to get some answers. Yikes...😬😬. Once again, I think his backstory from the other books would be really helpful so that I could understand his character better. Hopefully that aspect will also get better for me in the next book.

It ends with a cliffy, so you will want the book 2 on hand and ready to go.

This was so good. I'm sitting here asking myself how I'm gonna wait until 2nd February for the next part of this story. Yep you heard it right. This ends in a cliffhanger. Thankfully not a 'throw kindle' kinda cliffhanger. Just one of them endings where I wish I had the next book to jump into lol

Yulia spends the night with Lucas Kent in the hope of getting information for her boss. She gets more than she bargained for and so does Lucas. When he leaves the next morning he doesn't realise how that night will affect both their lives.

I loved this story. I sat and read it in one sitting. I'm so looking forward to reading more about Lucas and Yulia.

Audiobook: I enjoyed the narration by both these narrators. They really brought this story to life for me. There are several different characters and their performance of them were very nice with the exception of one male character performed by Ms.Rae. I was completely immersed into this fascinating world created by Ms. Zaiares and voice by Ms. Rae and Mr. Scarlato.

This was a fast ride into some dark territory. The heroine grew up with darkness, lives her life in darkness and has now become responsible for an event that is going to pull her even further into it. I enjoyed both the hero and heroine. More so than I did than those in the first series, Twist Me. The hero was completely consumed with having her and keeping her. He was jealous and possessive, There were a few moments were things were a bit dubious but I felt it was less so here than in TM.
