When Lilly goes away to college, she finds herself caught between two loves — and plunged into a titanic battle between good and evil.
Since she was eight years old, Lilly Rayne Nightingale felt like fate was trying to wipe away her existence through a series of odd, near fatal incidences. Luckily, her best friend Will was always one step ahead of fate, preventing her from being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Will was her knight in shining armor...until he broke her heart after their one and only kiss.
On Lilly’s first day of college, she meets Brand Cole. Intrigued by Brand, Lilly must decide whether or not she can give up her adolescent fantasy of being reunited with Will or allow Brand the opportunity to conquer her heart. Not only do Will and Brand both love Lilly, they share a dark secret neither wants Lilly to discover. Lilly thinks fate is after her, once again, when a new series of attempts on her life start to take place. But she soon learns someone of flesh and blood is trying to kill her this time.

“Cursed blessed me with many magical hours of reading.
Once upon a time, a little girl was born on a cold winter morning in the heart of Seoul, Korea. She was brought to America by her parents and raised in the Deep South where the words ma'am and y'all became an integrated part of her lexicon. She wrote her first novel at the age of eight and continued writing on and off during her teenage years. In college she studied biology and chemistry and finally combined the two by earning a master's degree in biochemistry. After that she moved to Yankee land where she lived for four years working in a laboratory at Cornell University. Homesickness and snow aversion forced her back South where she lives in the land which spawned Elvis Presley, Oprah Winfrey, John Grisham and B.B. King. After finding her Prince Charming, she gave birth to a wondrous gift named Caylin and they all lived happily ever after.
The second book to the Harvester of Light trilogy will be available for purchase no later than December 2012.
I'm so glad this book was recommended to me! Amazingly good! I'm adding this series to my favorites. The books just kept getting better and better. The last book had mebinbtears a couple times. And the entire series had me laughing. I'm so glad that the characters I didn't care for in the beginning turned out to be good characters after all.
First let me say, I was able to read this series for FREE because I got it through Kindle Unlimited.
This is a series that I am so thankful I am done reading. I almost didn’t even read the last book in the series. I didn’t plan to read the last book due to soooo much frustration & still a lot of eye rolling from book #2 but the book was right there in front of me from kindle unlimited. So I figured I’d read a couple of chapters of the last book to finally get some answers. And thankfully, I was amazed that finally, while reading the 3rd & last installment in this series, the story finally picked up the pace. Hallelujah!!!! It was definitely a moment of shock. 😮😮😮😮
The first 2 books went painfully slow. So much repetition, writing about mundane things & the 2 main female characters, especially Tara, I didn’t even like!! My favorite character was Malcolm & he started off as the really bad guy!! Lol
This story, in my opinion, should have been done in only 2 books. The storyline itself was good. For that reason, and also because the books were free, I kept reading them. I just wanted some answers and the first 2 books, especially book #2, dragged on so freakin slow! It would have been a much more pleasurable read if you took out all the unnecessary garbage & just had the story in 2 books. Because honestly, I probably skimmed at least 35% of the first book & over half of the second book. It wasn’t until book 3 where finally, there seemed to be some decent writing & I actually enjoyed reading it! Once again - HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!
Ratings for each individual book: Book #1 - 2.5 stars Book #2 - 2 stars Book #3 - 3 stars
The only reason I gave this series 3 stars was because of the last book in the series. I’m still leaning towards more of 2.5 stars. What ever...... Good luck to anyone who reads it. You might enjoy it if you’re in middle school or high school. My advice though is, don’t buy it. Give it a try only if it’s free. 🤷♀️
I got this book for free on Kindle. It was recommended based on other books I have read recently. The relationship between Lily and Brand is boring and predictable. Brand is an overprotective boyfriend who has nothing better to do than to monitor every move Lily makes (as does every other character in the book). I felt like there was also a lot of storyline that either wasn't explained or changed a few chapters later. I often had to go back and reread parts to make sure I didn't read it wrong or skipped anything. I didn't. The author just changed things or didn't explain/give detail. I usually have a lot of tolerance for bad books and have to finish them, but this was an exception. I just couldn't get through the bad story line and characters who don't develop. I felt like I was reading something written by a high schooler.
Having now finished most of the Watcher box sets I thought it was time to go back to the beginning. Refresh my memories where it first began, the story of Lilly and Brand and the first battle with Lucifer. I wont spoil the plot by explaining why Lilly is so special or why fallen angels Brand, Malcolm & Will are drawn to. And especially not what Lucifer has planned for her.
Above everything else this is a story about love and friendship. Yes, Lucifer is the big bad but the main plot revolves around how Lilly and Brand found each other. As well as the backstory of the angels fall from grace and first meetings with main characters who will prove pivotal in future books . Overall S.J. has written a brilliant introduction to the Watcher World. A world she should be very proud of.
The Watchers Trilogy series should be read before The Watcher Chronicles. Each series can stand alone without reading other series. But by reading the series in series order gives you a better background to the next series. I enjoyed both series.
Well constructed story and characters.
No corse language. There is violence, but doesn’t go into gory details. There is Romance.
Brittany Pressley Narration brings the characters alive with their own individual unique voice. And I really enjoy her telling the story. Speed is set at 1.4 x

While this book is listed in the young adult genre, I found it to be appropriate for all ages. I thought I was going to read a book about a fallen angel protecting a young woman, but it was so much more. The author's take on the origins of the vampire, werewolf and fairy, and how they fit into heaven and the angels was original and unexpected. The message of love, sacrifice, repentance and redemption was beautiful and inspiring. Normally, I favor the first book in a series over the others, but in this case, the third, FORGIVEN, stole my heart.
The story it self was very riveting. Unfortunately it had a bunch of contradictions. There where also some editing g issues. I got to find out about a death a,co u old chapters early. I think they kinda switched out chapters. Then the last part of the book was in a completely different font. Kinda drove me crazy. I really hope the other books I n this wAtcher world are better. Because I really do want to see how this ends.
This was an interesting storyline. It wasn’t bad it just didn’t end how I wanted it to. I felt like I really had to force myself to finish and by the third book when I was about 80% done I started skimming. There’s only so much of the same info that is regurgitated in different ways that I can handle. In my opinion I just couldn’t stand the main characters, I felt Will got the shitty end of the stick and Malcolm too. There wasn’t enough wow factor.
This book had a good story line, with angels and more things that I can’t put without it being a spoiler. It does get religious talk, I.e, Lucifer, god, heaven. But it’s just a story so didn’t bother me much. There was sacrifices and death that made it more compelling. The battle we didn’t really see except a mention of it. It was more focused on relationships and humor because of Malcom.
Can't say "love it" enough, this trilogy is phenomenal, love everything about it: the plot, the world building, the main and second characters, the twist and turns, the romance and sexy scenes, the magic and mystery sorrounding everything and everybody, lots of action and all the feelings!!! 😳🤯😭☺️😍🤗 Can't wait to read the next book / series, can't get enough of this world!!! 💖
Three stories of falling angels, Archangels, God, humans and half angel. Three falling angels, Will, Brand, and Malcolm help Lilly, the daughter of Michael and granddaughter of Lilly The first woman). Book 1 - Cursed 3 stars, Book 2 - Blessed - 5 stars, Book 3 - Forgiven - 5 stars.
Well I started off reading the next watcher series then went back to the beginning. I loved all three books Lily's story was heartfelt and touching and just overall amazing. SJ West is an awesome writer I love her writing style and just how fast and easy her books are to read. I'm determined to read then all.
I like getting all three together because they need to be read in order, or things get confusing. All three books are really Lily's story. I like a female heroine. Lily is not only tough, but feminine too. Great YA reading.
This series has excellent characters that cause laughter, sadness or happiness over their emotions. Very well written tale of Angel's and we mere humans. I highly recommend this series
I rate it 3.5 stars. It was definitely an interesting intake on the way angels are viewed and how vampires and werewolves were created through the fall. I would recommend it.
I have read so many books, and so many have touched my heart in different ways, nothing like true, real, unconditional love time is written by this author. S.J. West... Thank you, just thank you.
This book was a little different form what I normally read. I love how the characters all interweave together. God helps Lilly navigate her destiny and find love while Lucifer id trying to destroy humans. It was so invested that I read all three books in a week
