(review for the whole webcomic and not just the first volume)
This was cute and at times really funny too. I'm happy with how it ended but honestly the first half of the comic felt very mmmmmmmmmm.........how do I say this. The authors themselves write in their bio that they're two straight ladies and it.........honestly felt that way.
It got much better in the second half and I'm glad it went a little deeper, but I got a bit lost/distracted at the part with the theater and overall I found that there are better slice of life comics out there. It was still pretty enjoyable though and it's a quick and fun read.
2021: I remember reading this last year and thoroughly enjoying it so when I found out about it again I was overcome with joy. It was such a cute read!
Second, Third and Fourth Read: These two are so dorky and too stinkin cute.
So I spent at least an hour or so of my day at work sneak reading this. I couldn't stop. From the first time we see Carter trolling Craigslist to his miss at Chapters and his first attempt to "woo" Adrian all the way to the pirate ship. I was in love, so in love with Carter and Adrian that I want more of them. Carter is such a stalker with a heart of gold and poor Adrian is strung out on his ex. Carter wants Adrian, Adrian thinks Carter is annoying but they can't avoid each other. Partly because of that whole stalking deal that turns into an attempt of wooing but OH BOY Carter, you are something else.
Yeah, this is a Webcomic and it was my first. This is unique, witty, well written and beautifully illustrated. I really hope the story continues because I need more of these two.
YA in theme, this story follows newly out of the closet Carter, as he sets his sights on his shy classmate, Adrian, as his first gay conquest. Adrian is having none of this, which results in the epic fail of all of Carter's initial attempts to seduce Adrian. The good news is, most of these seduction techniques were highly entertaining to watch and the banter between them was high quality and often laugh-out-loud funny.
Eventually personal intentions change, with Adrian and Carter slowly, but surely, developing deeper feelings for one another than their original game of cat and mouse could predict. It became a very sweet and surprisingly emotional story towards the end, and I liked the progression and the outcome very much.
I easily devoured Volumes One and Two of this webcomic in a matter of hours and I can't begin to imagine how passionately involved (and impatient!!) long following fans of this series became as they dealt with the gradual release of this story over a 5 year period! I would have gone crazy with the wait each week, but I definitely understand the praise and the fan loyalty the writer and illustrator received in the process. I'll be keeping my eye out for future works, for sure!
2022 re-read: After discussing webcomics with a bunch of ppl on discord i was reminded of this webcomic that i forgot back in 2015. Now that its finished I revisited it. Found it as funny as before and then there's stuff i didn't remember, and feel like there's Hazel's art progression missing between the art of the first chapter and the jump into a more honed artstyle which makes me think there was a revamp in the story or maybe it's my faulty memory that made stuff up.

2015 read: Ongoing? webcomic about two gay teenagers in highschool that later become a couple. It's funny and has great dialogue, tho i didn't like the out of the blue and unnecesary angst almost at the end of this volume.
What i liked most about this webcomic is see the development of the artist, she improved a lot by the time and it's something i really like to see in any webcomic made by a beginner artist because i think the creation of comics/webcomics is a good excersice to practice character design, perspective and composition.
That was actually REALLY adorable (even though it got pretty angsty towards the end) and I seriously enjoyed this. The art style was pretty cute too, if somewhat derpy at times :)
for those looking for a light webcomic read which is adorably cute, has a fantastic plot, and real characters (with a tiny seasoning of angst on the side), then this is the thing for you! sounds too good to be true, right? right.
the art is really lovely and it's fantastic that you can see the huge development of Bell and Hazel's work throughout the story. like it just slaps you in the face and leaves you gaping like a fooooool, they've improved so much.
I forgot how much I love carter and adrien, seriously- their happiness is my own happiness. it kinda broke my heart after it ended. *sudden flash back* I remember having my laptop propped up on my chest while reading the last update and I was blubbering like a baby, BUT THEN I REMEMBERED THAT THEIR HAPPINESS IS MY HAPPINESS AND MY HEART WAS SUDDENLY REDEEMED.
I could of had an early and full night's sleep tonight. COULD is the key word here. ...instead I have ruined the chance of that ever happening (obviously), and reread the entirety of always raining here (again) with no regrets. *siren blares* ugh, I can't stop gushing on about how much I love this story.
a really cute read about two guys who first meet at a bookstore and who both are from the same school and the misadventures of Carter trying his best for Adrian to fall for him.
Meh? This was a very quick read, and although I'm always in for any cute webcomic, a few things didn't sit all too well with me. It's a work from the 2010s (I think volume was completed in 2016?), and in some aspects, it shows. I wasn't really on board with the way Carter's stalking was not only not challenged, but even encouraged by characters like Maria. No means no. Then, a character said "I'm being such a girl" to mean that he's being a coward, which wasn't very nice to read, either. I'm going to keep reading, because this is entertaining enough. Let's see if things get better.
6 August 2020: 4 stars Loved it! As someone who reacts poorly to stress and high-pressure situations (and consequently avoids them like the plague), Adrian's circumstances hit close to home. Can't wait to get to Electric Bones (it's been gathering updates for enough time now).
11 November 2019: DNF @ pg 30 Cute but not really my thing. I don't if it's how it's written or something else, but I just don't connect to it at all.
Adrian is heartsick, Carter is horny. This is a story about their misadventures as they fumble through unrequited romances.
The art is incredible, the story is fantastic, the characters (both looks and personality) are amazing... I just started Volume Two of this spectacular webcomic, and I simply can't wait to read more!
