When Lucas arrives home to find a woman who takes his breath away, holding a little boy who smells just like him, he instantly knows that these two are his future. But the beautiful Marshal remains unconvinced. Can Lucas find a way to not only manage a crash course in parenting, but also entice his mate to stay in Landing where their little family desperately needs her?
This book is about 55 pages long. It is book 3 in a series but can be enjoyed as a standalone. It has a Happily Ever After ending with no cliffhanger. This cover also contains several FREE bonus books.

The death of the Long brothers’ father and his unusual stipulation in his will have left the brothers upset, at odds and in a heap of emotional pain. Each is dealing in their own fashion. Lucas has taken off on a search for a child he may or may not have fathered. If he can provide that child then he’ll inherit the ranch since he knows the child would be the firstborn grandchild… if the child even exists. What he didn’t expect was to have his son delivered to his doorstep or for his mate to reunite father and son.
Sammie is beyond the usual definition of shock. Her partner, the two witnesses they were protecting have all been murdered in cold blood – and the child, Mason, has turned into a bear cub of all things. She has one clue to try to bring Mason to someone who might be able to help him because if he’s a baby bear then there has to be a papa bear somewhere, right? She didn’t expect to love Mason so much or to find it so hard to part from him. And she certainly did not expect to feel this intense draw to his father.
Rancher Bear’s Surprise Package is another short but intense story in the Rancher Bears series. Lucas’ reasons for searching for his possible child pale in the reality of holding his son. This is no longer about the ranch but about keeping Mason safe and Sammie with them for a lifetime. But he totally messes up explaining the situation and he comes close to losing the one woman who is meant for him. Danger will creep up on them, and another brother will take a step closer to madness before this is resolved.
I’m enjoying this series. Although the stories are short, they are heartfelt and interesting. Of course, definitely sexy. I liked Lucas and Sammie together, of all the brothers so far they felt the most natural to me from the start. And finally there is some resolution to that stipulation that’s caused so much trouble. I’m looking forward to picking up the next story in this sexy, intriguing series.

This was one book I did like but a big plot hole that I didn't understand.
Lucas is a good man who after the death of his father goes a little crazy and hits the road. While on the road, he wasn't using his best intentions but once he returns home we get to see the kind of man he really is and it is a huge improvement.
Sammie is a woman who is just doing her job but in the interim had begun to love he little boy she is trying to protect. Meeting Lucas wasn't in the plan but yet when fate steps in, you just have to go with it.
The part that I didn't understand is Lucas insistence in the begging that his ex was his mate. In every book I have read included others from this author, they know immediately that someone is their mate. I don't know if it was the grief that made Lucas try and convince him she was his mate or not.

Loved this book
Sammy a us marshal has a boy turned cub who has witnessed a murder of mother, her boyfriend and another us marshal. Luke is looking for his son when he gets a phone call to return home where Sammy and his child are waiting. The three of them have obstacles to go through between Luke finding his mate and his son Mason who has turned into a cub and Sammy leaving and unwanted people tracking them down. There story is a brilliant put together one can’t say enough I absolutely loved it

Lucas thought the only thing he wanted in life was to inherit their family ranch. That was until he met the very thing that changed his views and the world around him. Sammie thought the hardest thing she's ever had to deal with was walking in on a massacre. What she didn't realize was the hardest thing she'd face was walking away from a future she never thought she wanted. Loved this book. Can't wait to read more!!

I just love box sets. This one is about a US Marshal Sammie taking a toddler bear shifter to his dad after his mother was killed by a drug dealer. Lucas the dad is summoned home from his trip to find out if his old girlfriend really had had a baby. Once Lucas arrives home to find a bear cub and the woman Sammie is his mate. Things aren't as easy as they seem. Can Lucas and Sammie find their happily ever after? I once again state this is a great story.

Great quick read. Just wish the story was longer as I really liked these characters and there was enough going on that it could have had a few more elements added without feeling like filler.

I loved this book. I wish it were longer but for a great read it had alot packed into such a short read.I strongly recomend if you love shifter books that you read this one.

Intriguing series

Lucas Long and Sammie Delaney were such great characters. This is book 3 in this series. I have to say, this series really surprised me. When I bought the first book in this series, I truly was not expecting very much. I am so glad that it just pulled me in and made me want more.
This story was great. The plot just kept drawing me in. Lucas is a sexy and hot bear shifter who has left the ranch in search of something he hopes is real, but time has past and he is batting zero. All of a sudden his brother Alex calls him and tells him he has to come back to the ranch now! He knows he would not be called back if it was not important. So he high tales it home and what he finds floors him.
Sammie Delaney is a U.S. Marshall who has just been hit with tragedy and she is on the run for a very good cause. The package she must get to the Long Ranch is important and this is a dangerous situation. She is tired and feels an enormous responsibility. She arrives with her package and Lucas Long is not there, but they have sent for him. Little did she know...things were about to get intense.
This truly is an intense short story. I only wish they were much longer. I hope this author considers writing a full length novel. I would buy it.

Candace Ayers really knows her stuff! Rancher Bear's Surprise Package is a terrific shifter story. Definitely a 5-star read.Without giving anything away, let me just say that this story hooks you from the very first page--and I didn't put it down until the final sentence. This book deserves to be on everyone's reading list! (I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)
