Ryohgo Narita (成田 良悟, Narita Ryōgo) is a Japanese light novelist. He won the Gold Prize in the 9th Dengeki Novel Prize for Baccano!, which was made into a TV anime in 2007.[1] His series Durarara!! was also made into a TV anime, which began airing January 2010

There are two traits found in most of Narita's works:
* Narita writes extremely fast, one volume a month if he wishes - with tons of spelling errors and missing words as a tradeoff. The editors like to leave them sometimes just for fun, though.
* His work titles often have an exclamation mark at the end (i.e. Baccano!, Vamp!, Durarara!!, etc.).

Kanji names: 成田 良悟 & 成田良悟.

Yeah, so that pretty much concludes it, the second series of Durarara!! the anime, with three major turning points. First of all, Shizuo's softhearted self has started to sprout within his heart, which is unbelievable to some readers not excluding me. Secondly, Mikado's vicious self has sprang up and was accentuated by a bloody scene, which is even more shocking to us readers (but it sounds good isn't it, the greatest character development hitherto). And last-but-not-least is the most insane thing that could ever happen of all: Izaya was literally backstabbed and got his ass flew to a hospital (who on this damn planet could imagine Izaya being injured by a mere mortal?). So many crazy things happen in this volume, and the thrill is still vibrating inside my obsessed mind. Can't get enough of this delirium.
Anyway, from now on the city Ikebukuro will steer itself into a much much darker path as the yakuza and underworld syndicates alike are going to be involved. Much likely, Mikado found the need to realize his own shadowy hidden self because he does not want to be left behind by THE CITY. As the city changes its course, someone has to convert themselves accordingly in order to cope up with new deals and new trouble.
I have been speaking too much now, need to stop and take a rest before flipping up the pages of the next volume. But compliments are not to be left out, so: big thanks to Narita-sensei for such a great story, and another thanks no smaller in degree to Stephen Paul for his amazing translation.

The groundwork laid out in volume 5 is paid off in part two of "Izaya's Grand Day Out" Arc (i.e. recompense for the hot pot slight). Proving once and for all that Izaya doesn't even need to be in the same district as everyone else to ruin their day.

In this volume, we discover:
- A younger classman sowing the seeds of treachery
- A ladies' man bonding Shonen Jump style with a charismatic, if unofficial, Lieutenant of the Dollars
- A Russian assassin who is getting a little too excited about her work and finds the pinnacle of human strength by coincidence
- A little girl who was blessed with a perfect life and is broken hearted by it
- A timid boy who finds out the city that is leaving him behind was never within his grasp to begin with
- A parasite who succeeds in protecting who is important to her, but may have driven him further away as a result
- A headless courier that finds the girl, loses her, and finds her again, all while doing her damndest to follow along
- A fighting puppet who manages to save the day all while on the run from the yakuza

Also in this volume: the mangling of the Japanese language (part deux), PARKOUR, reconnaissance from atop a skyscraper, unanswered phone calls, kidnapping girls (on purpose), one kid getting his ass thoroughly handed to him, knockout brawls in broad daylight, flashbangs, kabutowaris purchased in kamakura, tumblecars, mutual respect via mutual ass-kicking, knives that barely break the skin, crying in the streets, arguably the most satisfying stabbing in the series, and possibly Izaya's worst birthday.

This volume 6 finishes the story started on 5. "Finishes" might be a strong word, it actually starts something bigger.

And only Durarara!! would have secondary characters like Kadota, Shinra, Vorona take the center stage and not feel like a letdown.

If anything, Mikado, Anri and Kida are the let down.

I'll say it again. Can't recommend Durarara!! enough! Intricate storytelling with awesome characters and a Pulp Fiction like back and forth between places and time.

Durarara!! #6: 4.5 Stars
[7.66 - Amazing!!]

I love this series. 🤗
what else is new 😇😂
Considering how much Shizuo, Kadota, Chikage, Masaomi and Mikado Content we got (as well as everyone else I adore) - This was such a great Volume. Incredible. + THAT ENDING - i have watched the anime so I knew what was coming but just imagine not knowing 😱 What an ending!

My fave in this one is actually Mikado. Kadota and Shizuo come directly after.
(Masaomi is still my FAVE fave though)

An interesting conclusion to the story arc started in book #5. There was so much going on that I plan to reread this book and the previous one. I really do like how the characters are changing as the series progresses, and especially the dark emotional place Mikado is going. I'm interested to see how the author will handle that in future books.

Damn, the ending left me in complete shoooook! Yodogiri now better moves to another planet if he wants to escape from that sociopath's revenge...
I also felt quite bad for Kida, he is like Izayas little s*exdoll, that he uses whenever he feels like completely destroying something... Izayas behavior towards Kida is crossing the line to chaotic evil!

I went into this volume with so much hope that it would be better than the last - but it was worse. Perhaps that's because volume 5 and volume 6 follow a singular storyline and I'm just not interested in it at all.

Durarara!! has always been a series with a large cast of characters, and that's part of what makes it fantastic. Unfortunately the most boring characters snag a lot of the spotlight for this volume, just like the previous one. Vorona and Sloan don't really interest me. Mikado doesn't really interest me. Anri doesn't really interest me. So maybe I'm a little biased but it really felt like they could have used the more volatile characters a little more.

The chatroom was criminally underused in this volume. I think we only get one or two scenes in it and barely any group interactions. The chatroom is part of the charm of the series, and it sucks to see it just go unused. I know that this is mainly because the plot takes place in such a short amount of time but it still left a bad taste in my mouth.

At least the current plotline was tied up, and Rocchi is an interesting character. It was good to get some focus on Kadota as well. I know he has a lot of fangirls and he finally got to have some spotlight that wasn't overshadowed by his companions.

I also liked the ending. We finally got more of Izaya, and it ended on a twist that is sure to be relevant in the next volume. It leaves me hopeful that I can enjoy this series still. I was in love with the first four volumes but this one just really missed the mark for me.

Wah~ This book may actually be sadder than Narita's バッカーノ!1710 Crack Flag even though no one died in this book. It's a completely different kind of sad though, but every time the novel switched to Kida-kun's perspective, I felt so sad (sadder than him) about how he couldn't return to the days with Mikado and Anri. And that last scene with Mikado and Chikage... and Kida's reaction to it.... Yeah, it was sad. But yet, it was still a very good and enjoyable book, where everything slowly connected to show one single story line. And the ending with Mikado's decision made me so excited as to what will happen next. Wah~ Let's just same I'm super excited :D Narita-san has once again gone past my expectations and included the most screwed up twists humanly possible. xD

I can't believe this, according to Goodreads I haven't read bk5, according to amazon I bought it, but I checked and can't find it anywhere. Having skipped a bk makes the confusion of the prologue make sense. Will come back to this when I either figure out where the previous bk is or rebuy it with my amazon points.

Szósty tom Durarary naprawdę pokazuje umiejętności pisarskie Ryphgo Narity i to, w jaki sposób ten człowiek potrafi użyć prostych tricków, tak aby zamącić w głowie czytelnikowi.
