Mara made the book for me. It is rare that I identify with a heroine so much and with Mara was freaking flawless. She was out of this world logical and I absolutely LOVED that! From her ability to keep everything in check and be so strong and maintaining herself in situations where any other heroine cries or becomes emotional to her love for Leo, this was a win. Leo was at times showing antihero qualities that I loved. This was a first read by this author and it won't be the last. Definitely loved!

Interesting
Have to say the plot was interesting. I still felt like it was left up in the air at the end about the MC.
Leo was different, but heck so was Mara. I don't get into spanking. They are interesting!

LOVED it!💗
First time I have read a book from this author, you better believe I will look for more books of hers. The story of Mara, grand daughter of a mod boss and Leo his hit man was awesome, it kept me interested with the action and the hot sensual sex scenes. Would recommend this book to all romance readers.💗

Yeah no. Smh. No.
I guess I picked this book a second time and when I went to read it I got why I’d read the fist 5 pages then deleted it. I just did the same thing AGAIN, and this time I get it.
This author hates, I mean HATES women. There’s a degradation and then there’s degradation. This is degradation, the first 5 pages put me off this book twice. TWICE I SAY.
I just couldn’t stomach the language to start with, I mean literally stomach it. I felt nauseous just in the first few pages just because of the rude and unacceptable language text.
I’m really not hating, I’ve read some books that call club whores exactly that. Club whores, but this was just too much. As a woman please tell me who gave this book 5 stars 🤨

>Leo starts out kind of cold and unpleasant. He enjoys torture in his work or in his social life. He married Mara to protect her. His price for his protection is her willingness to submit to him. Leo and Mara really have a deep attraction. The thawing of Leo is especially sweet. The bad guys in this book are really disgusting. Led by Mara’s mother and biker step dad, the MC is so destructive and violent.

I wanted to see how the new mob boss would handle the news that Leo and Mara are married. I’d like to see Leo be with Mara at her college and try to fit in, along with some jealous moments as college guys try to hit on Mara.

My kind of bad man
I'm glad I took a chance on this book. I liked Mara 's character because she was sassy and tough. Leo had the perfect amount of dominance over their relationship. I liked how he always had her back even when the odds were against them. I'm looking forward to more of this author's work.

Mara was born into the Mafia life but that was never the life she wanted forever, she never had the support of her mother and her grandfather was the one she was the closest too, but he was the Mafia boss and that meant she didnt spend as much time with him as she would have liked. One day she gets a call that she needs to go home, where her life would be forever changed with her grandfathers last wishes for her, and the crazy mother who would do anything to get what she thinks belongs to her. Leo a man who doesnt do love or relationships is also about to have a change of his life he never thought he would want.
What I enjoyed most about Deal with the Devil is watching a woman who is a normal girl doing the Collage thing to her most feared thing is thinking she could fail if she didnt study enough to being a woman who needs to do what she can to stay alive even if its selling herself to the Devil. Mara being so strong and standing up for what she believes in even if she falls for the guy who she thought she would never fall for because she kinda cant stand him most times. Leo a man who has sworn off love and relationships from being dealt the hand he was given before and his lack of trust in woman in general.
This book is great, but I totally love to read Mafia stories. This book has a woman who has just lost the most important person in her life and pretty much feels alone in the World, with a mother who is stingy and only thinks of herself even putting her own daughter at risk, enter Leo he is willing to protect Mara but its going to cost her and its not money its her body he is after, many dangerous situations they will go through to try to keep her alive, he doesnt know how to truly love but she does and he will learn thru her, a Love Story. If you like stories like this, then Deal with the Devil is a must!!

Mara is currently at Corell University days away from her final exams when she finds out her grandfather has dies of a heart attack. Leo Baglio is a hitman for the Matrazzo crime family, taken care by Vito when he fled foster care and tried to rob Vito as a 15 year old desperate boy. Leo made a death bed promise to protect Mara. Vito leaves most of his estate to Mara which starts the drama, revenge, betrayal and protection of Mara. They get married as a convenience to stop Cecile, but it is too late? Do they find love? Leo has been there and done that but realises he never loved his 1st wife. Can Mara take down the wall he surrounds himself with?

4.8 stars hence the bump up to 5 stars.
My first thought of Leo was, "that's an incredibly grumpy and angry hero...how is he going to redeem himself in the reader's mind?". Followed by, "Mara seems so icy cold and unapproachable. I don't think I'm going to like her much". Third thought was, "How in the world is a reader going to fall in love with/root for such aloof MCs?".
But as everything unfolded, I got totally sucked into the story. And yes, despite the strange aloof natures of the MCs, I started liking them a lot.
Another great subtle read from author that I had to buy my own copy and I can't wait for more books (hopefully Carmine's book soon?).
So if you are into slightly darker angsty reads with mild steam, I recommend this.

I do enjoy dark mafia romances so this one was well worth a read. You have a young woman who has strong ties to the mafia world but wants a different kind of life. He grandfather wants to protect her from her mother and others so he arranges for her to be with Leo. Mara and Leo are not very alike as he enjoys the darker aspect of his work but he also has a strong sense of family and protects those he cares about. The chemistry grows into something more as the story continues.
It is a well-written story with great characters. Mara is a strong woman and doesn't just give in to Leo. He grows to admire her courage and strength. Leo has some darkness but also knows how to treat people that matter to him.

This is the first read for me by this author and I really enjoyed it. It was fast pace and a fun read. Stone kept me on my toes and wanting more. Leo and Mara are complete opposites but also have so many similar traits. Secretly Mara wants a man to control, command her and Leo is just the bad Mafia hitman to do it. The only hard part is Leo keeping Mara safe ? Can Leo keep Mara from the ruthless men that want her and her money? Will Leo admit his true feelings for the Mafia princess ? Well you gotta read Deal with the Devil it's oh so delicious!!"I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely love a suspenseful romance and Stacia Stone definitely does not disappoint. Mara knew about the "life" and did her best to stay far away from it yet it still found her. Leo was the last thing she was looking for but ended up being the best thing for her future.

This was a slightly different taste than what I usually read. A little darker but not out right sadistic which is excellent. Way to let a little demon out without going crazy.
