My Thoughts - Story
When Ms. McDonald asked me to host this release tour along with reading and reviewing this series, I jumped on the chance. I had the pleasure of reading some of her other works and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this! Buttttt……I’m not that big of an erotica fan. If you could take out all the sex scenes and just give me the sexual tension of dealing with the work up…I would be happy. Yes, I am one of those terrible readers who skim over the sex scenes…
Not this time though…Ms. McDonald did a fantastic job with both Indulgence and Satisfaction. In fact, right before I read Satisfaction, I re-read Indulgence again (and you NEVER see me rereading a book).
Why? Cause I can’t get enough of her characters. Her writing is so spot on that it seems her characters are multi-dimensional and come right off of the pages!
I was instantly sucked into Brix and his shyness. He was definitely not your typical alpha character and I found myself hooked – like I mean…REALLY HOOKED on this guy!
Another thing I absolutely loved about this book is having Addison and Sebastian back in this story --- which I have to stress that it is important for you to read Indulgence first.

There was no need to speak. Magic hung in the air and we were forever bound by its spell.
Spellbinding. There's a good word—a word that describes Satisfaction to a T.
It's pretty simple, really. I read this book. I loved this book. I wanted more of this book. I want more of this series. I want more classy kink, more anonymous trysts, more chance to indulge in something that feels a little forbidden—and does it while being sexy, fun and touching. (Not the dirty touching, y'all. Minds out of the gutter!)
Satisfaction was satisfying in a very real way. It was a quick read—TBH, I wish it were a bit longer, because I feel like there's more story for Brix and his bombshell—and an incredibly enjoyable one. I loved seeing Brix, getting to know him and his… quirks, his shyness, his openness. I loved the little twist. I loved the friendships, and would happily read more about Amber and Autumn and Mercy and Gable. I loved seeing Bass and Red again, seeing things from another angle.
I loved… everything, pretty much.
Do I still have questions? Yes. I do. And I desperately want answers, which means I'm going to have to not-so-subtly implore Jeanne McDonald to write more in the Taking Chances series. Because it's pretty simple really—I want more of this series, and I want it now.

I really wish I had read the first book of this series because I was totally lost in here, but that is ok because I really enjoyed this book. The characters were very well written and likeable, well except maybe Junior for most of the book. The storyline was well written and a bit different in that the hot male lead is a few years younger that the smart hottie he is after. That was a nice twist. I loved these two characters so much. I loved seeing them fall for each other, and not just in a sexual manner. I really need to go back and grab the first one so that I can be ready for the next one!!!

I fell in love with Brix in Indulgence, and thought that he needed to find the woman of his dreams. I'm so happy that he did in this book. Aspen is the world wind that he needed for him to realize and act on what he can bring to a relationship. Some girls love the boy-next-door type, who can be sexy and hot at the same time. I know I do, and Brix is all that and more. I love being in the world of Indulgence again, catching up with old friends, and meeting new ones. I hope that are plans to expand. Maybe a story for Mercy and Gable? Hint, hint, Jeanne McDonald!

The prologue starts off with a scene from book 1 and told by Brix's POV. Love seeing it from the other side. My heart was crushed when I learned it wasn't the continuing story of Addison and Sebastian, but that's ok cause Brix's story was just as good. The Plus is we got to see Addison and Sebastian throughout the book though since Brix not only attends the Indulgence party again this year, but him and Addison are friends.
Brix met the women of his dreams and he doesn't even know her name. Wow, this was intense and kept you wanting to know if he would ever find her again. The humor of the 80's throwback was awesome and epic. If you can't find the girl, what better way to relieve a little stress. No, not yoga, but attending the epic party-Indulgence again.
You not only get hot scenes, you get to see a twist that none of us seen coming when we see who is attending the party and what this means for Brix. Holy smokes, have Mercy on your blood pressure when the name is revealed. You might just want to go to Aspen, CO to cool off with this explosion.
Not only do you love the main characters, you love the secondary characters and hope that we get to see a story on Autumn or Amber. I will say that each book can be read as a standalone or if you read this book first you can go back to read book 1. It will just give you a more insight to how close Brix and Addison really are and how Addison and Sebastian became.
I am still holding out hope that we get a book again on Addison and Sebastian. Yes, we know they are together, but there is more to tell especially with the publicity that occurs with them. I can honestly say that there is still a story for Brix and the mystery women as well. I believe Flex and Hunter would agree with us, don't you think? Another hot, quick read that doesn't disappoint. Satisfaction by Jeanne McDonald is book 2 in Taking Chances series. The prologue retells a pivotal scene from book 1 from another's point of view, Brix the friendly yoga instructor. At first I was disappointed that Addison and Bass were not the lead players in book 2, however I was soon loving Brix and his bombshell. If you have read book 1, which you MUST read before Satisfaction, you will be happy to know that we do get to see how Addison and Bass fair through the eyes of Brix.
Brix surprised me as a lead. He is not the typical Alpha male I generally go for, but he won me over with his honesty and sincerity. His leading lady loves to be in control, but they later find a good balance. The NYE party at Indulgence is on, a year after we met Addison in book 1. More "no holds barred" sex is taking place and more drama is brewing!
What I really enjoy with this series is although there are plenty of sex scenes, they are written in a way that isn't always crass and dirty. There is beautiful, almost poetic scenes that elevate the story to being more than a sexy read. "Slow and steady I ghosted my lips down her neck, along her collarbone, and over those pert peaks that demanded my attention....To my pleasure, her already hard nipples grew harder with each pass, and the most delicious shiver rippled along her body as I blew across her damp, heated skin."
There are a number of stories set up in this addition to the series, and I look forward to reading more about this group of characters.

Satisfaction by Jeanne Mcdonald is another amazing romp into the world of erotic sex parties and the world of sexual exploration. Brix Johnson, mild manured yoga guru & studio owner, has never felt comfortable and confidant with women but when a intriguing stranger offers a little fun while at a friends wedding he can't resist. Brix never gets this beautiful strangers name and for months searches for her with no luck. It's another New Years Eve and Brix finds himself at "Indulgence" again searching for something or someone?
Eek I was so happy to see Brix get his own story after reading Indulgence. I devoured this story in a day. I couldn't put it down and needed to know what happens next. I enjoyed seeing the characters we fell in love with in the first book in the series return though at time I wanted to smack them for their interfering with Brix. He sees black hair with purple streaks and hopes it’s the woman who got away, but he’s not found her after searching for months.
Planning to avoid the party this year, Brix is coerced into attending by his friend, Addison. But is the reality of Indulgence better or worse than the fantasy Brix has created in his mind—especially when his past collides with his fantasy.
I really wanted to love this book. I loved the brief snippet of Brix and his story in Indulgence. I was so looking forward to Brix’s turn to indulge in the fantasy created by the New Year’s Eve party. Oh, don’t get me wrong… he sure as hell does indulge and it’s HOT and SEXY. But there was something missing…something that wasn’t quite finished about Brix’s story. I’m hoping there’s more about Brix in upcoming books because there’s more to Brix and his happily ever after. ~ Missy, 4 stars

Jeanne's story of Brix has all of my stars today.
Damn, woman.
This guy makes my heart bleed. For real. He has to be the sweetest, dorkiest, most enjoyable to watch, Sex Club attendee I've ever met. How freaking adorable (SORRY BRIX!) is this guy?
I simply loved the mysterious woman plot! He completely drives himself a little batty trying to find the intriguing tattooe'd love of his life kind of girl at his friend's wedding. And I was so smiely when he finally found her... NOT GONNA TELL YOU WHERE!
The roller coaster ride Ms. McDonald took me on after these two get properly introduced was filled with angst and frustration (and a little bit of heart break too) but it was also very fun to watch.
I loved these characters. A LOT. And cannot wait to see where the TAKING CHANCES adventure leads us to next!

You MUST read Indulgence first. Otherwise you won't understand the characters, the storyline or the back story between all the characters.
I was so happy to hear Brix's story! He seemed like such a sweetheart and I felt horrible after what happened to him in Indulgence. I won't say what in case we have some people who don't want to read but find out what happens. I'm no enabler!
I was quite surprised with how Brix's story turned out as I was expecting him to wind up with someone else.
I can't wait to see what's next. I hope it's Mercy's story!!

Fast paced, hot and sexy followup to Indulgence.
Brix and his Bombshell fire up the pages in this story about intense, soul shaking connections and learning to let go of inhibitions. The series is called "Taking Chances" for a reason. Brix takes a chance with a nameless woman, turning over his pleasure and his heart to her. In the end, the payoff is great.
An unconventional story, told from a mans POV, with a HEA that suits the characters and wraps up the story in a beautiful, red satin bow.

Wow! I loved this book! I've been looking forward to this book once I heard that Jeanne McDonald was going to write another book after Indulgence. Hot and steamy is what this book definitely is; well-written and quick moving this story moves along at a fast pace.
Brix Johnson is just everything (sigh) ... He is handsome and caring. The chemistry he has with Aspen is everything I could hope for in real life. I look forward to what Author Jeanne McDonald publishes next.

OMG! This book was so hot and steamy. I so need to read Indulgence (Book1)
after reading this. Loved these characters and really enjoyed Brix's story.
Brix meets a mystery lady at a party, only to have her vanish without a trace.
He can't get her out of his mind and can't find out who she was...

And I do not know about you boys and girls but I SQUEALED when I found out BRIX would have his own book!!! Our shy, awkward, sex god got his own book! {sighs dreamily}
I mean who did not want more of BRIX Johnson after book one! I loved this man so much! He is not your typical male lead. Yes, Brix is hot as sin and has women falling all over themselves to get his attention. But this man has a vulnerable side and is a little insecure with himself and it makes you want to hug him and never let him go.
Brix met his dream girl and lost her a few months back, only to bump into his little dominate bombshell again. This girl is funny, hot, and can command a room like she owns it. I love how she taught Brix how to really explore his sexuality with her. She opened him up to a whole new world he would have only fantasize about.
One of my favorite scenes is when Brix is at Indulgence and his alter persona takes over. When this sweet, sweet man turns into a sexy beast... Well, I could not get enough of him!! He was HOT HOT HOT!! I am talking smoking HOT with a side of OH. MY. GOD. can I have him! Kind of hot!

I mean who did not want more of BRIX Johnson after book one! I loved this man so much! He is not your typical male lead. Yes, Brix is hot as sin and has women falling all over themselves to get his attention. But this man has a vulnerable side and is a little insecure with himself and it makes you want to hug him and never let him go.
Brix met his dream girl and lost her a few months back, only to bump into his little dominate bombshell again. This girl is funny, hot, and can command a room like she owns it. I love how she taught Brix how to really explore his sexuality with her. She opened him up to a whole new world he would have only fantasize about.
One of my favorite scenes is when Brix is at Indulgence and his alter persona takes over. When this sweet, sweet man turns into a sexy beast... Well, I could not get enough of him!! He was HOT HOT HOT!! I am talking smoking HOT with a side of OH. MY. GOD. can I have him! Kind of hot!

After reading Indulgence I knew I had to read Satisfaction. I highly recommend reading Indulgence first but it is not necessary.
Brix Johnson is a yoga instructor and loves his job. He also has a crush on Addison George a client of his yoga class. After visiting Indulgence last New Years Eve and seeing Addison there he was excited to say the least. He let her go then and now he is back to see what happens this year. What he didn't expect to find was the woman of his desires and then one he can't seem to get out of his mind. Everyone at Indulgence must follow the rules including wearing a mask but Brix knows this is his woman. When he walks away this time he didn't feel bad. Then she walks up to the bar and he realizes this is his chance to show her the man he really is. Brix was not prepare for the truth he is about to find out and the pain that comes with it. Indulgence is not for the faint of heart nor is it a night to find true love.
I loved Brix in the first book, he is a good guy who has given up a lot just to get where he is. I am glad things worked out for him in this book. I look forward to reading more from Jeanne McDonald.

OK I thought the first book was hot but this one takes hotness to a whole new level. Where Indulgence was the beginning of Addison's story it is merely the highlight for Brix. After dealing with the aftermath of directing Addison to follow her heart with Sebastian, Brix finds himself in a quandary. This is Brix's story of how his life was impacted and the waves of craziness, betrayal, lies, love and friendship that followed from that one night. Lots happens in the year following and when he gets the chance for him and Autumn to return for a second trip to Indulgence his world is flipped, his heart, as well as his trust and belief in his friends. Maybe just maybe he indulged a little too much or is it possible that his dip into the fun, release and freedom afforded from participating will help him find his way.
This book is hot and this author plays us like a fiddle keeping us turning the pages not only for the hotness factor but also for the story. The characters, the night, the stories behind the scene all build up to a great ending that soothes the heart. A night of Indulgence which helped open eyes to a world of possibilities yet to be explored.

I volunteered to read an ARC to post a review for United Indie Book Blog - This was an excellent read with great flow and character development. This is the second book the A Taking Chances Series. It is a stand-a-lone book but obviously has overlapping of characters and circumstances from Book 1 Indulgence. This book is about Brix Johnson, handsome and nice guy yoga instructor and Aspen Church, sex blogger, reporter. They had a sexual connection in Book 1 that had a lasting impression for Brix. He never knew Aspen's name and had searched for her to no avail. In this book we are once again exposed to the carnal pleasure that those looking for physical satisfaction can pursue at the New Year's Eve once a year party at Indulgence. Brix returns for the second time to forget about his mysterious lady and to seek satisfaction without connection.
This book definitely explores adult steamy content of BDSM and alternate lifestyles. The sex scenes are panty-melting scorching hot! I enjoyed both Indulgence and this book.

Welcome back to Indulgence!! This time we get to experience it through Brix's eyes. Brix is reserved, quiet and struggles with getting women to notice him despite his hotness. Although, he was let down by Addison the year before, he has been convinced to come back after a hot experience at Addison's wedding with an unknown woman.
Indulgence gives Brix the confidence to be himself and do what he wants and step outside his comfort zone. One woman attracts his attention at the party...his mystery woman and this time he is determined not to let go.
Indulgence only played a small part in Brix's story but it was an important part in enabling him to be free and to express who he truly is. It enabled both of them to understand the other and what is important to them sexually. This was an indulgence read that will leave you satisfied.

Hot. Steamy. But with a difference. A shyer, not-quit-as-sure-of-himself lead, that endears himself to the reader. Lots of Indulgence references, so it does help to read the first book before tackling this one. Love revisiting some of the other characters, but so glad Brix got his own book, and his own HEA. Jeanne has some major hot scenes in this book, and she handles them with a deft hand. Fast paced, and enjoyable.

I absolutely love Brix!!! First, my favorite type of POV is the male POV which this story is completely told from Brix's side. He is shy and insecure about who he is which I kind of found refreshing. He wants to be someone else and where else can he do that but at Indulgence and boy does he. His experience is filled with dominance and some surprises. He meets a dominate bombshell at a wedding that literally rocks his world and is searching for her and when he finds her again wow to say it was hot would be an understatement.
I love Jeanne McDonald's stories and she doesn't disappoint with Satisfaction - she takes us on a great journey and really ties into the voice of this character. Her writing is full of great dialog and images that transport you the reader to this great setting and makes me want to spend more time with these characters. We do get to see some of the familiar characters from book 1 - loved revisiting Addison and Sebastian again! I loved the ending, it was perfect within the context of the story - love!
It was great to get a chance to catch up with Brix again he definitely deserved his own story and this doesn't disappoint.

This was a new author to me and although not a particularly long read I enjoyed it. I was intrigued when I read the premise of the story.
Brix has always had trouble communicating and talking to women as he is reserved, almost nerdy and somewhat shy. In fact he has secretly been crushing on one of his yoga students, Addison George.
He is shocked when an opportunity arises to attend Indulgence, a yearly, invitation only, New Year’s Eve erotic masquerade party. When he sees Addison there he decides it is now or never, only to find out that she is already involved with someone. Brix is the guy that always does the right thing, a nice guy, so instead of pursing her he encourages her to go after the man she really wants.
When he attends a close friend’s wedding, he is absolutely shocked when he is propositioned by a hot tattooed bombshell that intrigues him straight away. What follows is a night of intense pleasure; hooking up for casual sex he is absolutely amazed at the connection between him and the mystery woman who refuses to give him her name. We are back at Indulgence!! This book is hot, steamy and totally addictive!
This book is a standalone, but I would HIGHLY recommend you read book 1 first, as there is a fair bit of overlap, and to fully appreciate Brix's story and understand all of the characters involvement, it would be beneficial to read 'Indulgence' beforehand.
Having read the first book and I was super pleased that Brix was getting his own book. He really deserved it and Jeanne did not let us down with this story for him. Brix is a very different character, and not necessarily the alpha male you might expect. He is extremely hot and sexy, but at the same time is lacking a lot of self confidence himself and is pretty shy. He's the total opposite of a cocky, confident guy, and is actually far more reserved but also very honest and sincere.
Brix meets the woman of his dreams, and following an evening of passion they part ways but he doesn't even know her name. He's desperate to find her again and continue where they left off, but she either can't be found or doesn't want to be found.
Being friends with Addison, means that Brix ends up heading to Indulgence again for another New Year party! And that's when the fun really starts....!
This book is very passionate and sensual, and written beautifully. It's a quick, fun easy read, packed full of fun, frolics, humor and a serious side. Erotic romances can be a bit OTT, but again, Jeanne McDonald has written the story so well, it's perfect.
We get plenty from Addision and Sebastian in this story which is great as I loved those two, and lots from all of the other secondary characters which I would love to see more from! I really look forward to reading more in this series as there are a lot of characters whose stories I would love to explore, and a few questions I would still like answered!
Overall a really great 5 star read which I devoured from start to finish and left me feeling truly satisfied!!

Brix Johnson is that perfect guy to bring home to your parents. He's a good guy who's a wealthy yoga instructor, but for whatever reason, he's over looked by the woman he believes he wants. So he becomes her friend, and while at another friend's wedding, he meets a mysterious woman, with who he has the best night of sex with, and after it's over, she won't tell him her name, then disappears. He can't seem to get that woman out of his mind, and yet, he can't find her either. He gets another invitation to Indulgence, a New Year's Eve, erotic masquerade party, and is talked into going again, since when he's there, he can be whoever he wants to be. But what happens when his past mixes with fantasy?
Let me start out by stating for the record, THIS STORY IS SUPER HOT HOT HOT! I'm sure I'll repeat that more than once, but it's taken every in me to not just type HOT over and over again. Brix is a shyer man who always feels like the nerd, although he looks nothing like one now, so he was very enduring to me. But he had some serious sex appeal when all is said and done. I really didn't get a feel for the mysterious woman, so I wasn't real sure about her. Jeanne McDonald has a talented writing style that not only makes it easy to become fully immersed in, but her writing shot sparks out of my kindle with all of the FIERY, SCORCHIN HOT FLAMES of sexy scene goodness that leaves no panties left standing. She added in a twist or two that came out of left field that made for f-bomb dropping moments, and some well placed humor kept me laughing. The ending felt too rushed for me, and so I"m begging for Brix to get a bit more story pretty please! With that being said, I cannot wait to see what else this author writes about that will disintegrate my drawers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Brix Johnson needs a boost in the self-confidence department. The sad part is that he feels he has to create a persona in order for that to happen. He constantly suffers because he puts himself in the same space as a woman he lusts after. It’s nice to see he has a friend in Autumn and that she wants to see him happy. He wants her to be happy as well. You expect all males to be self-assured alphas but Brix reminds the reader that that’s not always the case.
The author could have left Brix trying to reinvent himself into something he’s not but then she adds in “Cedar”. There seems to be some type of connection that you will have to explore. Scenes are steamy and not for the shy. What I found interesting is that we have a book that is told from a man’s point of view written by a woman. She could have taken the easy way and had the story written from the female’s perspective. I would think that it would be a little harder from Brix’s angle since we all know how hard it is to understand a man but I think the author has pulled it off. Toward the end, Brix has an interesting conversation with Aspen - it certainly had me taking notice.
Endings can be happy and they can be sad then we have this one. It left me hanging, which is a good thing because I want to know what’s going to happen to this characters. It’s like reading a soap opera. The twists and turns of the scenes leave you wanting more – and the sex ain’t bad either. You don’t have to have the first book read in order to enjoy this one. But at some point you should try and get it read so that you can understand who these people are and how they got to their place in this book.

Satisfaction is the second book in the Taking Chances series by Jeanne McDonald and from the way it read out, I will definitely be going back for the first book.
When I read the blurb I was pretty much instantly hooked, a shy, somewhat introverted man who has some really hot sexy times with a woman at a wedding who wont even tell him her name then leaves him... - normally my tastes run a little to the opposite end of the spectrum. I like my men to be a little more forceful, stronger.. a little more dominant than the woman. But I wanted to try something new and JM has a great reputation as an author so in I went.

Brix (love this name) from book 1, apparently, gets invited back to Indulgence for an erotic masquerade party on New Years (loving this concept) and runs back into the woman from the wedding. The story is told entirely from the male POV (which I also loved) and was very well written. The characters, especially the main ones, were well developed and I feel that had I read the first book, would have been even more complex in their depth within the story. This is my fault entirely.
The only issue I had at all with the story might possibly come with the ending. I generally like everything tied up nice and neat and the author left this a little open but since this is a series I can understand why. I am very much looking forward to any more books she might have coming in this series and will now go back and pick up the first story.

When I read the blurb I was pretty much instantly hooked, a shy, somewhat introverted man who has some really hot sexy times with a woman at a wedding who wont even tell him her name then leaves him... - normally my tastes run a little to the opposite end of the spectrum. I like my men to be a little more forceful, stronger.. a little more dominant than the woman. But I wanted to try something new and JM has a great reputation as an author so in I went.
