I rescued Sabrina from a mafia bloodbath when she was 13. As the new head of the Philly syndicate, I sent her to the best schools to keep her as far away from the life--and me--as possible. It worked perfectly. Until she turned 18. Until she came home. Until I realized that the timid girl was gone and in her place lived a smart mouth and a body that demanded my attention. I promised myself I'd resist her, for her own good.

I lied.

Nate is a full-length standalone.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2! Nate (stand-alone). Mob boss & his young ward fall into a steamy forbidden affair while enemies close in!

“The moment I had seen him in that blood-soaked house when I was barely thirteen I knew he would be my world.”

Nate (stand-alone) opens up five years after Nate Franco took over a mob empire, the Syndicate. The little orphan, Sabrina who became his ward has retuned home from boarding school for the summer.

Sabrina is no longer a little girl, but a stunning temptress set on seducing Nate, the man who saved her life and made her feel safe. Their attraction is intense and them falling into an affair inevitable.

While Nate knows he should not corrupt her, his possessiveness cannot bear to send her away. But with the danger of his lifestyle, threat of rivals and the recent discovery there is a mole Nate cannot afford to get side-tracked…

“David kicked over a patio table, which was about as useful as a lemon meringue dildo.”

Five words to describe Nate Franco: Conflicted, possessive, nurturing, flawed and ruthless.

Five words to describe Sabrina: Determined, smart, goal-oriented, reflective and loyal.

Nate, told from dual POVs, is a fast-paced suspenseful forbidden dark erotic romance. There is steam, humor, violence, betrayal and even though I guessed some deception the last 20% is glued-to-your-Kindle suspense.

“You deserve so much better than anything I can ever offer you. But I’m still a selfish bastard. And I’ve never been able to do a cost-benefit analysis. When it comes to you, all I ever see is benefit.”

From the moment I finished Dark Protector, I was praying that Nate would one day get his own book. At the time, I wasn’t sure if that would ever really happen, but what I did know was, he was an intriguing character that stole every scene he was in along with my heart. Hilarious, charming, and all round badass, Nate was a character that I wasn’t ready to let go of, and thankfully, I didn’t have to.

To say that I highly anticipated this book is putting it mildly, and when I finally got my hands on it, I wanted to devour it immediately. Sadly for me, I still had a few other arcs to read first, so by the time, I actually got to read it, I thought I was going to burst with excitement! Now you all know that this kind of extreme anticipation could have ruined the book for me, but it didn’t. Nate was everything I wanted it to be and more!

 photo 20170825_034559_zpsucm3kzgm.jpg

Nate takes place 5 years after Dark Protector with Nate having taken over as boss of the Philly Syndicate. Being boss wasn’t something he exactly wanted to do, but he had proven to be pretty damn good at it nonetheless. Since he took over the operation, his men were happier, the majority of their income came from legitimate businesses, and they were on the verge of an extremely beneficial alliance with the Irish mafia.

That being said, everything wasn’t all sunshine and roses. He had a rat in his house to sniff out before the deal with the Irish would go through, and they were days away from an all-out war with the Russians. If you think Nate had a lot on his plate, you would be right, so when his ward, Sabrina, comes back from boarding school, he promptly tries to get her to go stay somewhere else for her own safety and well-being. That’s not his only motive though. When he first sees her by his pool, he doesn’t even recognize her. What he does recognize is that by the erection in his pants, he likes what he sees. He is about to go downstairs and take it when she turns around, and he is shocked to see that little Sabrina is all grown up.

5 years ago, Nate came to the rescue of a 13 year old Sabrina after her adoptive parents were brutally murdered. Since then, he became her guardian and sent her away to boarding school where she would get the best education he could provide. Sabrina turned out to be a bright student with a good head on her shoulders that stayed out of trouble and made good grades. Nate tried his best to keep her away from him, so she would have a chance at the life she deserved.

Nate’s ideas about Sabrina’s future couldn’t be more different from her own. She had fallen in love with him from the moment he took her in his arms and made her feel safer than she ever had in her life. Now that she was 18, she was ready to show him that they belonged together. Sabrina was his and had been for years, but a powerful member of the Russian bratva sees things a little differently. He wants Sabrina for himself to exact revenge on her father, and he lets it be known that he will stop at nothing to get exactly what he wants.

 photo 20170825_034003_zpsvz6selxc.png
Nate is a well-written, action packed, steamy mafia romance. It’s the kind of book that entertains you so thoroughly that you never want it to end. I hung on every word and relished every moment until I reached the last page. Then, I closed my and silently mourned the fact that it was over.

Nate is a hero you won’t easily forget. Between his attitude, sense of humor, good heart, natural charm, and alpha like behavior, you will be as helplessly drawn to him as Sabrina is in no time! I found myself rereading his lines, because I was enjoying him so much that I couldn’t help myself. I wanted to take my time with him, because I knew that this was it. Once the book was done, it’s done, and this is a book that I wanted to savor.  Nate is a character that I just can’t get enough of!

Sabrina was the perfect match for Nate in my eyes. She gave as good as she got, and that is exactly what drives Nate crazy in a good way. Like him, I also like my women strong and sassy, so I was happy with her from day 1. With her being so young, it would be reasonable to see her being intimidated by a guy like Nate and to let him push her around. Instead, she did exactly the opposite. Never letting him get away with anything, she always has a sassy comeback to anything he throws at her and never hesitates to call him out on his bullshit. Nate is a force to be reckoned with, but so is she which is why since I can’t have him, I guess she’ll do.

If you loved Dark Protector, there is no doubt in my mind that you’ll love Nate. If you are a fan of Celia Aaron’s writing or mafia romance, go one-click this one right now! You will be happy you did! In fact, I liked this book so much I will go as far as to say that if this book even remotely interests you, go buy it and read it. If you haven’t read Dark Protector yet, grab that, too. You’re in for a real treat! Enjoy!

"I want you."

description

Nate is a stand alone contemporary romance with action, suspense, and plenty of steam. Aaron delivers another smoldering hero who lives raw and wild!

description
"Oh, so after you eat my pussy on the back lawn, it's time to cool it?"
Sabrina was a child when the unthinkable rips her from her parents and puts her in the care of foster parents. When her Russian Mob ties catch up with her, Sabrina is orphaned once again. Throughout her trauma, she remembers one man who protected her. Her rescuer, Nate, is a ruthless mobster with a soft spot in his wicked heart for the beautiful innocent blonde girl. He decides to become her guardian and sends her off to boarding school. When Sabrina returns home to return to her guardians care, she is looking for more than a father figure. In fact, she is a woman on a mission. She is finally of age and ready to claim Nate as her own (and not in a fatherly way). Nate fears Sabrina is too young for him and only wants to shield her from the evil of his world. However, when passion ignites between the two, there is nothing that will tear them apart. As the demons from their past continue to chase them down, Nate and Sabrina must hold strong to each other in order to survive.

description
"This is my- My what? My ward, my sort of niece, my new obsession, my spankbank superstar?"
Told in dual POV, Nate offers a strong hero deeply entrenched in the dark and twisted mob world of Philadelphia. Nate and Sabrina transform from what should have been a father/daughter relationship into something so much more. Although their connection is swift, the love and affection they share for each other are grounded in pure adoration. Nate tries to deflect his feelings for Sabrina, and yet, she is focused on gaining his love and will stop at nothing until he sees her for something more than a "young thing" he is supposed to take care of. The physical connection between these two is off the charts and full of "spanking" fun! Through the growth and development of their relationship, Sabrina finds healing and solace with Nate. Nate, a man who had always thrived in a violent world, finds peace like he has never known before. Fans of Ms. Aaron's work will be happy to get a glimpse of a few well known (and loved) characters. The action is intense as Nate and Sabrina battle their adversaries and fall madly in love with one another!

description

Overall, Nate will appeal greatly to mob romance fans who enjoy elements of a forbidden romance and a hint of intrigue. Celia Aaron is one of my go to authors due to her smoking hot heroes, witty dialogue, and fiery hot passion. As expected, Nate certainly knows how to please!

This girl was going to be the death of me.

Let’s start this review with an obvious observation: This book should have been named “Sabrina” instead of “Nate”. Because this is a book about Sabrina and everything you wanted to know about her.

There is also Nate (of course!). You remember –I hope- Nate. He was the easygoing, funny, loyal friend of Conrad Mercer, the hitman, from the Dark Protector book. Nate was not as lethal as Conrad, but he was not actually bad himself.

So, that Nate saved little Sabrina 5 years ago when her daddy firstly and her new parents later were brutally killed by Mafia. He sent her to the best schools that money could buy. He basically became her guardian and looked after her from a distance. Because Nate just wanted Sabrina to be happy and safe and far away from the world of Mafia.
Until (5 years later) Nate becomes the head of the organization in Philadelphia and Sabrina decides to come back:

Sabrina waved and smiled, her as-suspected perfect tits bouncing with the movement. “Fuck.” I swore under my breath and tried to mentally will my dick to deflate. It didn’t work.

Nate will have a huge problem around Sabrina that does not seem to want to stay down.
Thus, he will try to avoid her. Unsuccessfully I assure you.
Because nobody has asked Sabrina about this. And Sabrina wants Nate since forever. She saved herself for him. She prepared mentally herself for him. She willingly belongs to him:

“I decide who’s good enough to get between these thighs. You made the cut.”

Poor Nathan. Or lucky Nathan. Depends how you look at it…

Anyway, soon enough Nathan’s world will be a mess with Sabrina in the middle and Russia and Irish mafia around.

You will see also Conrad in this book - if you have missed him (I had missed him!). If you haven’t read “Dark Protector”, don’t worry. This one is a standalone.

REVIEW TO COME

GAH no wonder I was confused in the beginning of this, Nate was first introduced in 'Dark Protector' so in some ways it's best to read that before (like me) jumping onto this book even though it states this is a standalone without background knowledge it can be a tad confusing in some parts where the author mentions past events. Bugger me and my blondness!!

This was a good read. It kept me entertained, it kept me intrigued and it kept thinking.

However I just couldn't grasp that Sabrina was really only 18. An innocent 18 year old virgin on top of it. I struggled with it a lot throughout this book. She was just an unbelievable virgin with way too much knowledge and way beyond her innocence. But I liked it, yep that is me =)))

The chemistry is undeniably hot. Their relationship so trusting and solid. I loved the banter between Nate & Sabrina and I adored the protectiveness he warded towards her.

This story progresses nicely and ends wonderfully. I'm excited to read future reads that invoice this crazy wild group!!!!

Well... the good news is I liked this book more than I liked Dark Protector, which is the book published before this book where we are first introduced to Nate. I would recommend reading Dark Protector first just to get a solid backstory for Nate before digging into this book. Though not absolutely necessary... it'll give you some info to fill in some of the holes you might step into reading this one.

First, we'll stop to admire that cover, because...

description

And, as I've stated in many reviews before... I'm a cover-whore.

description

I really liked Nate in Dark Protector, and stated in my review that I liked him better than I even liked the MCs of that book. So, I was super stoked to read more of Nate.

I wasn't disappointed in Nate as a character... he's a badass mafia boss, scratching his way from the bottom to the top of the Philly Syndicate. He's a hot-as-sin, cocky, possessive alpha who is steamy perfection in the bedroom. But, he's also got a sweet, loyal and caring aspect to his personality. Throw in his witty and sarcastic quips that gave me a few chuckles throughout the book, and I was hooked on this guy.

description

The bad news... still didn't love this book.

description

I had an issue with the older man/younger woman scenario in this book. Though not my favorite plot device, it's not usually a big deal for me. However, in this case, I was turned off by it. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that Nate has basically been Sabrina's benefactor (from afar) since he rescued her 5 years ago at the tender age of 13. Maybe I could have done without her calling him "Uncle Nate" the first time she's seen him in years. Maybe it was the way he kept having her sit on his lap. Repeatedly. I don't know for sure... it just rubbed me the wrong way.

description

And, I honestly didn't feel the connection between them. It seemed like a school girl crush (since we're to believe virginal Sabrina has been lusting after and saving herself for Nate all this time) meets a horny thirty-something guy who sees a nice piece of ass he wants to claim.

I was super annoyed with the overall predictable plot. I wasn't shocked or wowed by anything and found it a little unbelievable how ignorant Nate seemed to be regarding the rat in his crew. At one point gathering the whole group together to tell them he knew one of them was a rat, but then informing them all of the plans for the shipment of drugs they were about to receive. Surprisingly, that delivery of goods didn't go as planned.

description

To be perfectly honest, I knew who the rat was in Nate's circle in chapter 3... so, I only had to wait another 20 chapters for it to be revealed. Maybe I'm just that damn good...

description

But, I doubt that was the case.

description

Overall, it was just alright. Not fantastic, not terrible. I like my mafia books a bit more dark, gritty and fucked up. This was just a little light for my personal tastes in this type of book. But, if you're down with a lighter mafia read sporting a super hot H and a heaping helping of steamy sizzle in the bedroom... this just might be what you're looking for. And, if not, well you can always just look at the cover.

I've been not so patiently waiting for Nate's story since we were introduced to him in Dark Protector and now that I've read it, I can honestly say that it was well worth the wait. Since then, Nate has grown into his power and has becoming known for being ruthless. Unless Sabrina is around, then he can barely control his urges to have her.

Sabrina, he thinks, is the good girl and not one he should taint. But now that she's all grown up she isn't going to let him push her away. And she's determined to prove to him that she can be just as ruthless as he is, especially when it comes to getting the man she wants.

Nate completely blew me away with how much I liked him. He was Alpha and posessive in the sexiest ways possible and I couldn't get enough of it. He brought a lot of passion to the book and his need for Sabrina was hot, but also very intriguing. When he gave in to those urges of his I really thought I was going to combust with the need for more.

Sabrina wasn't the innocent little girl that Nate thought she was, but she still brought the sweetness to this story. I liked that there was this vulnerable side to her that came out around Nate at times. But it was even better to see Nate care for that vulnerable side of her.

There was also a good amount of action and mystery thrown in that ended up being a great addition to the story. It didn't take over the story at all, instead it increased the breath-stealing moments and made then ten times more interesting. Overall, a good read and a book I would recommend with no hesitation.

Truly impressive, from cover to cover I was in love! BTW, look at that cover. Oh my gah, what is it about that cigarette?! I just can’t…

Celia Aaron’s personality shines through in this thrilling mafia romance. Nate isn’t just a wise guy, he’s a wise-cracking mafia boss. Sounds good, right? You have to read this book to experience it for yourself. The juxtaposition of light hearted humor and gritty torture scenes is enough to engage and entertain any reader of this genre. It’s a great combination of light and dark.

Here's the breakdown: Nate saved Sabrina from death when she was a child. He took responsibility for her and as her ward ensured she went to the best school. What he doesn’t know is that she has dreamed of being with him for years and plans to make that dream a reality!

What I loved: The writing is top notch. All of the characters are great. The storyline is impeccable. But the showstopper is Nate. I’m impressed by the fact that he’s dangerous and scary, but also sensitive and somewhat self-conscious. Back away ladies; I've claimed him. Nate is M-I-N-E!

The story is thrilling, gritty, sexy, and so much fun! This is truly a fantastic read. It’s action packed and exciting. I read this book like a speed demon, I was so enthralled. On the flip side, the budding romance and banter between Nate and Sabrina is equally fascinating and some of the best I’ve seen. This is the perfect book if you’re in the mood for something gritty with a touch of humor.

So, if you can’t decide if you’re in the mood for a gritty mafia read or a fun and sassy romance. You should definitely grab a copy of this book. It’s a bit of both.

Recommended for fans of Mafia Romance, Older Man/Younger Woman, Sassy Heroines.

If you’re like me, then you’ve been not so patiently waiting for Nate’s book. We knew he had the makings to not only hold his own, but to be a BOSS and let me tell you: No one could’ve pulled off wearing a bloody suit while giving you sexual humor at the same time. “Nate” wasn’t just an ordinary mafia romance that seduced you into their world and made you crave the danger you secretly wished for. This, was so much more.

Becoming the new Mafia Boss of the Philly Syndicate isn’t an easy job but for the past five years, that title has belong to Nate. Bloody hands, sleepless nights, and body counts has now been a permanent fixture in his daily routine. Going from being on the streets and not knowing where he’s going to sleep, to running an entire empire and making it into one of the most successful in five years, Nate knows that extremely fortunate. But with that fortune comes highly dangerous threats and when it goes to someone that he’s vowed to protect, Nate will stop at nothing to ensure her safety. Who ever said a heartless man can never love, clearly hasn’t met this guy.

“Do you want to know what sort of man I am?” His dangerous tone slithered around me, seducing me. With his dark hair mussed, a five o clock shadow on his square jaw, and a delicious fire burning his eyes, he looked just as lethal. “Because I can show you. Right here. Right now.”

Sabrina has gone through her fair share of traumatic moments in her younger years. Being rescued from a mysterious stranger shouldn’t have made her feel safe but in that moment, she was. Nate became her protector that night and now five years later, he’s still that. But little does he know, is that Sabrina is all grown up and she doesn’t need that kind of protection from him anymore. That is until she crosses paths with Nate’s world and became a target. How far will Nate go to protect the only woman who’s ever meant anything to him?

This was one hot action packed story from start to finish and I was literally afraid to blink in case I missed something!! Sex, guns, torture, betrayal, love, you name it and it was there. I loved the sexual tension between Sabrina and Nate and even though I wanted to shake him a few times for being an a** hole in the beginning, he quickly redeemed himself. Now can we talk about how hot this book was? Someone definitely got pregnant with a few of those scenes because it was freakin hot! Aside from that, this was such an enjoyable read with great characters that are going to make you laugh, hold your breath, and make you swoon at the same time. Highly recommended!

✩✩✩ 5 "I wanna have Nate's babies" stars!! ✩✩✩

Release Date: August 25, 2017
Genre: Romantic Suspense ~ Mafia Romance
POV: Dual - 1st person
Heat: 4 out of 5
Type: Standalone with character crossover

I’ve been a huge fan of Nate’s ever since I got the chance to meet him in Dark Protector. To say that he left a lasting and phenomenally delicious impression on me would be an understatement. He was the humor amongst the grim circumstances. The laughter amidst the bloodshed. So yeah, I loved the guy. So you can imagine how freaking ecstatic I was to see that Celia Aaron was giving him his very own book!

So what did I think? I absolutely loved Nate’s story. I loved his heroics, especially when it came to saving and protecting Sabrina and those closest to him. I loved his bravery in the face of certain death. I loved his loyalty and camaraderie with his people, such as David and Peter and Con. Gosh, even his interactions with Angus gave me thrills. I loved his badassery, his charm, his focus, his dedication, his sexiness, his vitality, his EVERYTHING!!

"Seriously. When I’m done with you, you’ll look like that guy with the face. What’s his name? Sloth? You know the one. Got one eye toward heaven, one eye staring at a candy bar, teeth all out to here and an ear that can hear the ocean from Kansas."

I won’t say I’m an expert or anything as I haven’t read all that this author has to write, but I have loved those stories I’ve read so far. And I will tell you that if you’re going to give her a try, you CANNOT go wrong with Nate.

After reading the scene when the villain (NOT the hero!) abused and forced heroine's MOTHER to s*ck his c*ck, I don't even want to write about the trope with the heroine being only 13 as she met the "hero".

The scene of heroine's mother's abuse and rape was totally unnecessary, IMO, and disturbed me.

“Our souls had met five years ago and whispered about each other ever since.”

I took one look at the cover of Nate and I was completely done for… I mean seriously? What is it about book covers with a hot as hell guy in a leather jacket, smoking, that does me in? No idea. But I was drawn to it instantly and did I mention his smouldering blue steel gaze? I know you should never judge a book by its cover, but I just could not resist.

Ok… well I kind of had high expectations for this one as you can imagine; everything from the yummy cover, to the synopsis and to how impeccable Celia Aaron’s writing can be, I just had a distinct feeling I was going to really enjoy it. So it is no surprise that I absolutely did. It was intriguing, suspenseful, action packed and had lots of sexy, hot and steamy scenes to get your motor running.

Nate has been appointed as the new mob boss of the Philly syndicate and takes his business seriously. He is certainly not someone you would want to cross, because he is a shoot first, ask questions later sort of guy. Five years ago he saved the life of a thirteen year old girl and swore he would do everything in his power to protect her; to keep her as far away from the mafia business as possible. To demonstrate this, Nate sent her to the best boarding school money can buy to ensure her safety and where she’d get the best education.

“He kissed me again, and I let myself go. Gave myself over to him, not wasting the moment worrying about whether he felt it too. Even if he didn’t, I had enough love for the both of us, and I would be happy to share it for the rest of our lives.”

Sabrina is no longer the scared and timid thirteen year old. She has returned to Nate’s life, and much to Nate’s despair, is a sexy, sassy, flirtatious eighteen year old. Sabrina has returned with the intentions of showing her saviour how much of a woman she really is, if you know what I mean.

Nate knows the feelings he is developing for Sabrina are wrong, but he knows from the moment he sees her again he’s done for. He should be hell bent on keeping Sabrina as far away from him and his ‘business’ as possible and not wanting to keep her close. He attempts to push her away and avoid getting involved with her, but with no success. He feels this pull and attraction toward her that he just can’t escape; he soon becomes addicted and needs her like he needs his next breath (or cigarette.)

I loved both Sabrina and Nate. The passion and sexual chemistry between the two was electrifying. I loved reading Nate’s softer side when he was with Sabrina; he was protective, caring and sweet on one hand, but also a dominating, bad ass alpha on the other. Sabrina’s bratty, smart mouth was right on point and how she loved to push Nate’s buttons to get a rise out of him. This made for a humorous and fun read… but will Sabrina be prepared to step into Nate’s world which is full of brutality and violence or will she run for the hills?

“But I didn’t see anything but you. Being strong. Doing what you had to do. No matter what, I always see you.”

Underneath all the suspense and intrigue, lies an epic love story that I just devoured. All they ever saw was each other and nobody was going to stand in the way. Underneath all the violence and brutality, can true love really exist and will it triumph over all else?

If you’re looking for your next read to be both light and fun mixed with darkness and suspense, then definitely give this one a go. It has a little bit of everything for everyone. I highly recommend you jump on the Nate train, you are sure to enjoy the ride.

"4,5 Nate Stars"

Our souls had met five years ago and whispered about each other ever since.

I'm LOVING this cover so MUCH!!!

He's so damn yummy!!!

description

Brattiness was my weakness, and she had it in spades.

I got a taste of Nate and I couldn't get enough of him!

For once, words failed me-even the profane ones-and all I could do was stand and watch my destiny approach. I already knew what true love was. She stood right in front of me, hope in her eyes and faith in me in her heart.

description

This book was amazing!!! I loved it and Nate had me all hot and bothered with his sexy ass. And I wanted to lick him up and let him have his wicked way with me... Pity he wanted Sabrina! :((

description

Surprisingly, I enjoyed the book too much. I don't often read books with mob and killing and stuff like that. But this book was damn good. I loved the suspense and I was trying hard to guess the rat, because I kept changing my mind. I was hooked since the first page that's for sure.

"I just saw you covered in blood. But I didn't see anything but you. Being strong. Doing what you had to do. No matter what, I always see you."

Nate was my kind of hero. I loved him! He was strong, smart, protective, possessive, jealous, just the perfect man in my opinion. He had me wrapped around his finger like nobody's business! He was amazing whenever Sabrina was concerned. He couldn't keep his hands or d*ck in his pants for shit. I mean I don't blame him, after all he was only a man with no power against the only woman who had him lose control.

"...I think we were both broken and we were the only ones
who could make each other whole again."

Sabrina was a nice heroine. She was determined, persistent, smart, funny, and most importantly in love and ready to get her man. I liked that she didn't give up and tried one way or another to get him out of his comfort zone and stop resisting what they both wanted. Sometimes she bothered me but just a little so I got over it! I was glad that she was strong for her man and teased him! Their relationship was cute.

Wrapped in his arms, and joined in the most primal of ways, I was home.

Even though I enjoyed this book I gave it 4,5 stars just because I wanted a prologue about how they first met and how he saved her. I wanted to see that sweet Nate before the responsibilities got him all worn out.

P.S. I loved Peter and David. I hope they get their own books one day. They had a past to share with us. And David was a Bad, Bad boy...

The story picks up 5 years after Dark Protector. Nate has picked up the pieces of Vincent's underground kingdom and has become a ruthless but fair boss. He never sought out his position but Nate takes his responsibilities seriously and that includes protecting his people, going legit and making sure no one tries to muscle in on his territory.

Things start to get tense between his crew and the Russians and before Nate knows it, they're in an all-out war. In the middle of all this, 18 year old Sabrina, fresh out of high school, is moving in and causing her on brand of chaos for Nate. Gone is the scared little girl he promised to keep safe and in her place is a woman who calls to Nate on a level he's never experienced before.

When Sabrina's dark past comes back to wreck her, Nate finally admits no one else is equipped to keep Sabrina safe. Not when he would lay his life down for her. Things quickly escalate and soon Nate and Sabrina are fighting a psychopath who threatens to rob them of their chance at true love.

What I loved about it:
Nate is a hard core boss now, calling all the shots, doing the dirty work when he needs too and taking the good and the ugly as his due. But C.A. kept him deliciously wicked naughty. I loved seeing his playful sexy side with Sabrina.

I also really loved the role reverse here. Generally I like my guys to do the chasing but Sabrina’s determination to go after what, or rather who she wants was very empowering. Rather than have Nate pursue Sabrina, we have him trying to protect her and Sabrina as the main aggressor. For being so young, Sabrina was a strong h, she knew what she felt in her heart, she knew who she wanted in her life and she didn't let anyone (let alone poor well-meaning Nate) stand in her way.

This had great emotional growth, for both characters, but the inside look at the workings of Nate was note worthy. It was steamy as hell (the chemistry is off the charts here!) and had some really sweet moments too. Nate introduced some exciting secondary characters I hope we'll see again soon and a surprise cameo of Con!
If you liked Dark Protector, Nate will be right up your alley. It still delivers in the action and suspense department and the villain here is darker and twistier than expected. I highly recommend this series? (Please let it be a series!) So far both books have blown me away! The possibility of getting more in depth stories of the rest of Nate's inner circle has me super excited! I'm talking about the Raven brothers and Angus here!

Just an FYI:
This isn't so much a complaint, more like a warning. This has some scenarios that might be triggers for some readers. Spoilers below.

Favorite Lines:
...She’s all in here.” I pointed to a random spot on my chest. Just happened to be my heart. Coincidence.

We spoke to each other on a level no one else could understand. Our souls had met five years ago and whispered about each other ever since.

...they judged me to be a prude. But they were wrong. My issue was simple: I didn't want a boy. I wanted a man. One man in particular.

Memorable Moment:
When Nate lets down his guard and we get to see the Nate of old... (Sorry for the long excerpt but there was no way to shorten without leaving out crucial bits! Lol!)

Omg!!!! Nate and Sabrina 😏
I can't wait to read this one! Hope its as awesome as Dark Protector. Met and loved Nate in that one and I'm a bit embarrassed by how happy I was to find out Sabrina was actually going to be paired with Nate.

At thirteen years old, Sabrina Petrov lost her family due to a mob hit. Upon being saved by Nate, he’s acted as her guardian and protected her from impending danger. Since then she’s pined for him and now that she’s 18, her attraction has turned to more adult pursuits.

“I just feel like I’ve been a victim for most of my life. First with my father, then with his killer, then when you found me. I don’t want to feel that way anymore.”

Nate Franco has risen his way to mob boss of the Philadelphia syndicate. Known for his sense of humor, Nate has proved his ability as a ruthless leader but it appears there’s a rat in his organization. While sniffing out the problem and further solidifying his position, Sabrina proves to be a thorough distraction.

“I’m trying to do the right thing here, can’t you see that? For once in my life, I’m trying to put someone else first. Put you first.”

As tensions rise, and even though two trusted associates surround Nate, a different mob family threatens to take what Nate deems to be his. Based on a longstanding mission of revenge, Sabrina becomes a target and while she’s been living a sheltered life for the last five years, she isn’t deterred by the danger.

“If this was the life I was choosing, then I needed to see all of it, to understand my choice on every level. Nothing could scare me away from Nate.”

In the midst of a rival gang war, Nate tries to control the feelings he harbors for Sabrina. As her former guardian, he should only view her as a family member but Sabrina is constantly reminding him of her adult status and how she wants more from Nate. Using her assets and sassy mouth, she penetrates Nate’s restraint which puts him in the position of punishing her bratty behavior. Across his knee is exactly where Sabrina wants to be and their push and pull continues until Nate asserts himself right where he should be.

“You gonna kill me one day. You and that sassy mouth. But if I die with my dick inside you, I’ll die a happy man.”

Told in dual POV, Nate’s sense of humor shines through and adds to his charm. Knowing he is a boy from the neighborhood who earned his street credentials adds a dimension to his likeability. While he tries to deflect his trait of generosity, it’s apparent by his actions and it earns the respect of his friends. As Sabrina has viewed Nate as her savior for years, she views his soft spot to be endearing even though she’s aware of his darker propensities. Accepting him for what he is enhances Sabrina’s character.

Due to the ease and efficacy of Celia Aaron’s writing style, it’s easy to get drawn into the action of this plot and I was invested in Nate’s struggle against competing factions. While I discovered who the rat was early on, it didn’t lessen my interest in how it was going to be unveiled. Plus, I enjoyed all the scenes with Nate’s friends and their camaraderie.

While I enjoyed the story, I still wanted a little more character development to show their connection and how their feelings became more amorous, especially given the 15 year age difference and the added taboo element. That said, there were some hot moments where Nate dominated in deliciously naughty ways.

Overall, Nate is an entertaining read that showcases the author’s ability to spin a suspenseful fictional world and balance an intriguing romance plot. For those enjoy action with some kinky moments, I recommend!

2.5 to 3* Disappointing

This book has been on my to-read list since it came out but after reading 'Dark Protector' and absolutely loving Nate I couldn't wait to start this one.

Now it's a very different Nate we find here he's no longer the wisecracking joker he's the boss and as he's found it's not a fun position to be in and the pressure and responsibilities have taken their toll.

The book opens in a bad place for Nate it's obvious he has a rat in his organisation and the Russians seem to be one step ahead. As if that wasn't bad enough Sabrina is back for the first time in five years and she's stunning plus she has her sights firmly set on Nate.

Nate is thirty-three and Sabrina is just eighteen and left to his own devices there's no way he'd ever touch her.

“You’ve never been with anyone. You have this amazing future. You deserve the best. Not some… some mafia capo asshole with a smart mouth and a short life expectancy.”

But....he's not left to his own devices Sabrina has fantasised about Nate for years and she pursues him. She flirts and pushes and this was my main problem I don't like it when the female does the chasing, it's just not my thing and it spoilt the book for me, especially the first half.

I had other issues for example they have a rat and there's a situation early on when they know the rat is close, physically close which limits it down and they do...absolutely nothing.
I at least expected them to get all the culprits together take their phones and check because someone is tipping off the Russians somehow. But no, nothing.

Then at one point Nate collects his crew announces they have a rat and gives the details of that nights drug trade!

The rat was easy enough to work out (well for the reader anyway) and it's amazing that they managed to escape detection for so long especially when it turns out they've been skimming for years.

The first half or so of this book was firmly a 2* read for me but I enjoyed the last part a little more.
I loved the brothers Peter and David along with Angus but not much else to be honest well apart from... okay that's it no spoilers.

I loved Conrad Mercer and Charlie's story in Dark protector and that's where Nate Franco appears for the first time and he sparked my interest, so to have his story was more than exciting...

HOWEVER,

somehow, even though, there were segments in Nate's story I very much liked, the very plot seemed predictable and at points pretty clumsy in its deliverance of being credible/logical😒 which kinda set my 'primarly excitement' to simmer down and well, this ended up being just an okay story for me...despite my inner efforts to like it more!

But this, of course, doesn't mean you won't love it, so if you get off on a 'mafia bad guy' with a solely demanding alpha protective manner towards his young protege, with a slight kink in a sack, loaded with action and a lot of bang-bang going off while he saves the day and reaches his woman in time to have and to hold!

Well, grab it and enjoy!😉

Would probably have DNF if it was a longer book. I usually like Celia Aaron's dark and sexy reads but I struggled here. Nate really didn't seem to have any redeeming qualities for me and I just couldn't like him. The story was sordid and uninspiring. Actually I am not really sure why I finished it.👎

You're not a good girl. You're the worst girl.

Hot. Suspenseful. A bit of taboo and mystery. A bunch of naughty.

I enjoyed this read very much. I love anything involving mafia and smut, and Celia Aaron did not disappoint with Nate. I love that Sabrina knew what she wanted and she was hell bent on getting it. I loved that Nate just couldn't resist her. Plus they connection they shared was sweet on top of all the hot.

A really good read. If you enjoy mafia romance then I highly recommend this one!

Our souls had met five years ago and whispered about each other ever since

Nate Franco, 33, has been running the Philly syndicate since taking over five years ago. Nate is a mob boss of the Don’t hesitate. Shoot first, ask questions later sort and does not play around when doing business.
When he rescued the life of a thirteen year old girl “You’re safe now. I swear.”, he swore he would do everything in his power to protect her She was mine to protect from the first moment I saw her, and I wasn’t going to let her down., so her shipped her to the best boarding school money can buy and sent her on vacations rather than letting her come home during the summers or over holidays to make sure she was safe and would get best education.
And now, five years later Sabrina was home and has grown into a beautiful woman She moved closer around the side of the pool, her body glistening with water and tried to mentally will my dick to deflate. “Focus, perv. She’s your ward. Not your plaything”

Sabrina, 18, is ready to come home and more than ready for Nate Franco. The moment I’d seen him in that blood-soaked house when I was barely thirteen, I knew he would be my world. Now at eighteen, nothing had changed for me.
Sabrina is no longer the thirteen old girl Nate remembers That child was gone, and a stranger had appeared in her place. A hot one with a sassy mouth. “She’s the fucking sun. Hot, smart caring, has this amazing smart mouth on her. Jesus, the things she says.”
Sabrina is determined to have Nate and make him see that he wants her just as much.

Told in dual POVs alternating between Nate & Sabrina this was an amazing read. I loved these two together, their sexual chemistry flew from my E-reader making it electrifying. In the beginning I missed the fun humorous nature of Nate I’d been funny back then. Everything was a fucking laugh. Not anymore. Now, everything was exhausting. but was glad to see it surfacing here and there.

Nate is the badass mob boss, but like in the Dark Protector, we saw Nate’s softer side whenever he was with Sabrina, after he finally admitted to Conrad that he wanted her “I hear all that. I do. But is there more? Do you just want to hit it and move on, or what?”
“No, not with her. She’s different.”

Nate was protective of Sabrina, he cared deeply and treated her sweetly but also did not shy away from being dominant with a spanking now and then. He loved Sabrina’s smart mouth and her brattiness, while she loved to push his boundaries.
“Though you might not be able to handle it since you’re, what, forty?”
“Sassy brat.”
“I should probably start calling you Daddy.”

While Nate wants Sabrina to have nothing to do with his business she is determined to show him that she is well informed “You’re the head of the Genoa crime family. Or maybe you call it something different now since the Genoas aren’t around anymore. My father was a Russian drug importer. You saved me after the old boss kidnapped me and killed my adopted parents.” and ready to not only be with him but stand beside him.

Nate & Sabrina will have a lot to deal with, as well a ruthless and dangerous enemy from the past who is hell bent on having his revenge.

“I’ve never loved anything in my life. Not like I love you. When I first saw you, something inside me broke. Not just broke, it shattered into more pieces than I could ever collect again. I think we were both broken and we were the only ones who could make each other whole again.”>/i>

I don’t know what took me so long to read this one. I wanted Nate’s story so much after Dark Protector. It was everything I hoped it would be. I wish he didn’t push away so much in the beginning but I also understood it. These two are perfect for each other. And I love how strong Sabrina was.

**3.5 Stars**

**Disclaimer: I highly recommend reading Dark Protector prior to this book as you'll meet Nate there, plus, you'll see how he came to be the head of the former Genoa family, as well as guardian to Sabrina.**

Five years have passed since Nate became the head of the family and he's changed. The fun loving, always cracking a joke Nate is still there, but it's rare to see him as he's under constant stress with business, the Russians coming after him, and trying to legitimize their illegal dealings. Plus, there's a rat inside and he's unable to figure out who so far, but he knows it needs to be soon because the threats to him are getting closer, almost fatally so.

Sabrina has envisioned a life with Nate since he literally saved her when she was 13 as she was being used as a pawn in a war by the former boss against Conrad, the hitman that spared her life right after taking her father's, and Nate. Nate has ensured she's taken care of and receiving the best education since becoming her guardian, but she wants more, she wants it all with him. It may have started out as a crush on the sexy man that protected her, but over the years, and especially after seeing him again now, it's grown into something else.

As Nate tries to broker a deal with the Irish, while uncovering the rat, and waging war against the Russians, he's also struggling with his attraction, and growing non-guardian like feelings, for Sabrina. However, someone else wants Sabrina for themselves, knowing she's the key to their revenge against past wrongs, but also the perfect leverage to take Nate down once and for all.

Can Nate resist Sabrina? Can he admit he doesn't really want to? Can Sabrina prove to Nate that she loves him as he is? Will Nate realize Sabrina can handle his life, being his queen? Will he see himself the way she sees him? What happens when Sabrina's past and Nate's present collide? What could the man after both of them have that Sabrina, and in turn Nate, would do anything for? Has Nate met his perfect match in Sabrina? Will their relationship be forced to end before it ever truly begins? Is there a HEA for them?

One-click now and follow along as two people find their way to how they were always meant to be connected.

Also, on a safety note, Nate states it's been a long time since he's been with a woman prior to being with Sabrina, and, as he's been establishing his new role as leader and all that entails, I'd say it's safe to assume there has been no one since meeting Sabrina five years prior. I am very thankful for that, however, I do wish the references, and there were a few, to his previous manwhoring weren't mentioned, especially as he was talking a couple times to Sabrina when we read them. That wasn't necessary, but that's just purely my personal preference.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**

'Nate' by Celia Aaron is the story of Nate and Sabrina.
This is a Dark Romance with some strong violence, so just beware of that in case you don't prefer Dark Romances.
Nate saved Sabrina when she was around 13 years old and became her guardian. Nate sent her off to school and when Holidays came around he would just send her on Vacation. Now she is 18 years old and although they haven't seen each other in awhile Sabrina still has a crush on him. Nate is very surprised to see how much Sabrina has filled out and grown. Sabrina emailed him that she was going to Temple College but she decided to come to stay with him until she went to school. Her goal was to get him to notice her and she met that goal. Nate's first thought are after he learns it her that he seeing is that he needs to get her away from him quickly. Sabrina makes him feel things he has felt in a long time!
Their story is of the hard alpha make who is a bad boy to her soft, sweet, innocent and yes young at 18 years old. I so love stories like this and Ms. Aaron knows how to write stories that you can't put down!

“This isn’t about deserve, this is about need. I don’t know what I deserve, but I know I need you ."

I've been curious about Nate since I met him in Dark Protector, and when I found out in the book blurb that Sabrina was going to be the heroine, I was really excited.
The story takes places 5 years after Nate rescued Sabrina. Being at the head of the Genoa empire seems to have changed him, he lost his playfulness and faces the responsabilities that come with his new status. Focused on his business, he never expected his little protegee to shake his life, to awake such feelings in him. When a broody, violent, merciless Nate succumbs to a sassy, bratty, feisty Sabrina (15 years younger than him), things get scorching hot!!! The chemistry between them is incredible, no matter how hard Nate fights it, they have been bound to each other from the moment Nate saved Sabrina.
"Our souls had met five years ago and whispered about each other ever since."

With a mob war as a background, this book is a true page turner. Once started I couldn't put it down. It's fast paced, alternating between romance and action scenes.
I absolutely loved the tone and the atmosphere, with totally badass characters you are going to fall for.
Sexy moments, sweet declarations, hilarious bantering, gunfires, and kidnapping brought a fireworks of emotions and kept me enthralled all along.
