I enjoyed this retelling of Cinderella! No Prince Charming was full of sarcasm, humor, and romance. I enjoyed the characterisation in this book and thought it was well written. I was sick at the time and have been dealing with some hard trials so this book was a breath of fresh air!😄💖💙💚💛💜

No Prince Charming is loosely based off a modern day Cinderella story. Killian, our not so prince charming, hires a reputation management firm to clean up the scandal left by his older brother, Trey. This is where he meets his Cinderella in Claire. She works for her soon to be step-mom and step-sister who owns the reputation company.

Claire's soon to be step-sister has called dibs on Killian and has threatened Claire with exposing her secrets if she she tries to go after him. Unfortunately for Claire, she is attracted to Killian and the feeling is mutual despite the many attempts made by the evil step-sister.

This is the first in the Secrets of Stone series and ends on a happily-for-now, ending. Claire and Killian's story continues into book two. While it wasn't a 5 star read for me, it was a really good story. It fit perfectly with the Cinderella theme with the evil step mom and sister who wanted the rich, handsome Killian. I felt it was maturely written and the story itself was unique.

What I didn't like about the story was more of a personal preference in my reading. I really wanted Claire to stand up to her soon to be evil step mom and sister, especially towards the end of the book. She took everything they threw at her and never really made a stand that would have them back off. Since this does continue into book two, it's reasonable to believe this will eventually happen and I can't wait to see it!

I also felt the push/pull between Killian and Claire lasted too long. The issue with that, is it made me want to skim over some of it until I felt there was actual improvement in the situation. Again, since this story is to be continued and we finally see Killian and Claire officially get together at the end of book 1, I don't think this will be an issue in book 2. Overall, I enjoyed the book and want to continue with the series. ARC provided by Netgalley.

I don't think you really know how much I love the work of Angel Payne. She gave me a hero I really want to sink my teeth, my tongue, my whole being into. His name is Reece and he owns the Bolt Saga. So when I came across this book, I was ready to love it. And I couldn't be more disappointed that I didn't. I liked it well enough, but I found it hard to become invested. Claired annoyed me right til the end and the only thing that saved this story was everything to do with Killian. I can confidently say that this hero was superb! And that's about all I have to say. If you like strong and charismatic heroes, you can't go wrong with Killian Stone. He was enigmatic, dominant, successful, intelligent, and hella sexy and can you really ask for more than that?

Great book! Loved how it compared a bunch of the little stuff to things from Cinderella. I loved the sarcastic banter between Claire and Killian.

The Author did an excellent job with her descriptions of the characters and the plots.

"At twenty-six, I was due for at least one heart-stopping kiss from a man who looked like dark sin, was built like a Navy SEAL and kissed like a fantasy. Sweet God, what a fantasy."

I absolutely hated Margaux the evil future stepsister in this book. She was always trying to ruin Claire's life and kept trying to start problems between Claire and Killian.

I loved the ending to this one. Cause I love happy ever after endings.

"You fit the slipper, baby."

I laughed, I sighed, I had a good time reading No Prince Charming. Angel Payne and Victoria Blue kept me totally amused from beginning to end with this charming but angsty story. Of course, it helped that Killian Stone was uber alpha, romantic and on a mission.

Clair … insecure, smart, socially awkward. With nothing but betrayal in her past, she has no idea what gives Killian Stone the idea that she would be open to anything with him. Besides, Margaux made it clear, right from the beginning, that she will do whatever it takes to be on his arm. She's not one to rock the boat especially since Margaux will soon be her step-sister. She has a job to do, a job she does well, and that's all that is going to happen. Or, so she thinks.

Killian is determined. Determined to bring the good name of Stone out of the spotlight. His brother Trey has done it again but, this time, it could cost him some jail time. He can't do anything but bring in Asher and Associates to clean up this mess. As long as they didn't find the dirtiest secrets his family has, all will be well. Until she walked in and his world tilted on it's axis.

I loved No Prince Charming. It was fun, it was romantic. It had a bitch, a bitchier bitch and a man that knew how to love a woman but not how to be in love with a woman. It was fast paced and interesting. The chase was exceptional and the ending was just as it should have been. I loved watching Magaux be put in her place, I hated what she did to Claire and adored watching the mighty Killing fall. Written with an extraordinary sense of humor and fluidity, Angel Payne and Victoria Blue gave us interesting characters, an exceptional storyline and true romance.

I received this book by the Author for an honest review.

This is the first book that I have read by both of the authors Angel Payne and Victoria Blue. It was a good read.

Claire Montgomery is a part of the PR team with Asher and Associates who is hired by Killian Stone, of Stone Global, to clean up his older brother’s reputation. Claire and the entire team were told Killian was off limits because her coworker, Margaux Asher, staked her claim to him. However, Claire could not help the instant attraction she had to Killian when she first walked in the room. Killian and Claire both held secrets that they did not want to let go of.

The fireworks began to explode when Claire started to let her defenses down around Killian. They had to keep things a secret (yes, more secrets) and found interesting places and ways to meet without her teammates or the press finding out. Claire began to let Killian in on some of her secrets things were going better is when things started taking a turn. Their secret was uncovered by Margaux and her job with Stone Global was completed and Claire returned to California and Killian remained in Chicago. The question is will Killian get Claire back and if he can how does he make it work with her on the West Coast and him in the Midwest.

I was cracking up through the scene when she was trying to unplug her phone charger in the conference room. A few other favorite HOT scenes of mine were on the plane and on the Shanghai Terrace. When Killian and his older brother, Lance, have a heart to heart on their mom’s birthday was a great eye opener for Killian. This is not a cliff hanger but there is so much that was left unanswered and up in the air. I am intrigued to see what will come next.

Few of my Favorites:

He turned toward us.
I froze in place as the tower of my self-control toppled over—and burned to ashes.
Talk about presence. The man was stunning and glorious, forbidding and beautiful, intoxicating and commanding—and dear God, scary as hell—in the most sexy, toecurling ways I’d ever experienced. I think my toes actually did curl. My mouth went dry. And my body throbbed in places it hadn’t in a very, very long while.

“Sonofabitch!” She slammed my shoulder with a slap before, regrettably, her reserve clicked in again. “Sorry. God, I just beat on the client.”

He stopped my breath with the force of a storm wind, taking what he wanted, when he wanted. And heaven help me, he wanted me.

“I just don’t see how it all fits.”
“And I’m not standing here with a glass slipper, Claire.”

“joy and love…and the right person to share them with.”
“You already have the power to decimate me. You know that, right? But here’s my heart, and I’m giving it to you with everything I have. You’re my brass ring, my fairy queen, the one thing in my life I can’t imagine losing again.”

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Secrets..this book should have been called Secrets!! This book is FULLLLL of them. However, I did love the title and the sublte references to Cinderella throughout the entire novel.

Killian Stone (AKA Our prince) is the CEO of his familys empire. I say empire because that is exaclty what it is. His brother is a mess up and he has to hire the company that Claire (Cinderella) works for. Claire's dad is engaged to her boss (AKA Future Step mom) who has an AWFUL daughter, Margaux (AKA wicked Step Sister) who treat Claire pretty badly. The Step sister calls "dibs' on Killian buuuut he has no desire to be with her. He sees Claire and is done for.

Killian and Claire have alot of secrets that they can't tell for fear of everyone finding out. Claire is stuck with the Step Sister controlling her life because she knows Claire secret. She has to push Killian away or risk JAIL!!! SAY WHUT!!!

The chemistry between Killian and Claire is written very well but at times I did wanna punch Claire in the face. I mean come on...the man is doing everything ot be with you. When Claire finally submits to Killian (the plane scene....WOWZERS) I was cheering.....but typical Claire runs away. I hope Killian invested in some good jogging shoes because he is chasing that girl thgou the entire novel !! Snickers!!

So now that Claires job is done she has to leave Chicago and Killian to returnto California...sigh......Can Killian get her to return to him????

I finally got into this series and I am so glad I did. I simply love Claire and Killian! Theirs is the sweetest sexy romance imaginable. I am not crazy about the wicked step-sister and the jury is still out on the stepmother. I like the take charge attitude of the team in trying to quell the rumors and rein in Killian's wayward brother Trey. While doing this, Killian is on the prowl and his prey is the crazy smart and very skittish, and rightfully so, Claire. She has a secret that can seriously affect her life if he does not stop his quest. He has a secret too but will not share it with her. Margeaux is the thorn in the mix for both of them but he cannot figure out how.
This book is rich in scenery, settings, banter, giggles, and so many sexy scenes you will need an ice bath. I can't wait to dive into the next one to see where it is leading.

Talk about a novel that took me for a ride. I read No Prince Charming in less than 24 hours. It was just so hard to put down! It’s 3:30 AM right now as I’m writing this review and I just finished reading!

The suspense, heartbreak, misery, lust, gah we got it all. My chest physically hurt at times because my heart was breaking for Claire and Killian. Payne and Blue depict the characters emotions so well and make us feel what they’re feeling on this crazy carnival ride. Wink wink.

I can’t wait to continue the series! If you’re looking for your new favorite erotic romance, check out No Prince Charming!

For starters I'm going to say Margaux is a boob. I wanted to slap her while reading this book. But besides that I loved this book and the relationship that Claire and Killian had. They were a matched made in heaven. Killian is a straight gentleman and says all the things us women want to her. I absolutely loved him. I will say after finishing this book I wanted to throw it because of the way it ended lol. Now I must go onto the next book and see what happens. Angel and Victoria you guys rock and you also made my heart melt while reading this story.

Killian is such the Alpha male . I have always loved Angel but this was my first read with Victoria Blue and I am hooked on her as well now. It is almost like a Cinderella story in a way . It is a modern day fairy tale that we all want . Now time for the rest of the story lol. No more Masquerade I am coming for you soon.

Fairy Queen Slays the Crown Prince

Claire Montgomery works for Asher & Associates as a "fixer" of the rich and famous. Killian Stone has an older brother who needs "fixing." Claire is all business and wasn't expecting the force of nature known as Killian Stone to shake up her world. Killian was used to keeping his title as the "Enigma of Magnificent Mile." Laying his cards on the table and showing his hand was not part of his plan. However, the planets aligned and put these two sexy people in each other's path. There was magic in their first meeting. The sparks ignited, all the air was sucked out of the room, and no matter how hard they fought, their fates were sealed. Like any good romance novel, there are a certain number of obstacles in the way. Will there be too many to overcome? Will our couple decide that love won't keep them together?

First off, this book was written in the first person, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I felt like the characters were speaking directly to the reader, which pulled me further into the story. Claire was a strong, likable female. Even though her attraction was strong, she didn't become the simpering female that usually angers me to no end. She stood her ground, which only made Killian want her more.

Killian was the perfect mix of the sexy, boyish, and hotter-than-hell male who would do anything to win the heart of the woman who challenged him and didn't fall at his feet. I loved his pursuit of Claire and her constant road blocks. She didn't just roll over and give herself to Killian. She made him work for it, which made him respect her even more. The transformation of Killian from this mysterious male who was fodder for the tabloids to this man whose sole focus was winning Claire's heart was completely sigh-worthy. And once they were both on the same page, the heat they generated could cause fissures to erupt in the earth's core. Yes, these two were pure fire!

Ms. Payne and Ms. Blue did a wonderful job of writing from both male and female perspectives, giving each character their own chapters. This book was an enjoyable read that could very well make us believe that fairy tales do come true.

Prince of her Heart..

I was late to the party in reading this book, but now that I have, I am totally addicted. Killian Stone has a reputation for being a Casanova, Don Juan and lady's man all wrapped up in a gorgeous bow. He has many secrets he keeps in the cellar of his heart and does not have any time for a long lasting relationship. He runs an Empire and devotes himself to that and trying to keep his brother Trey out of trouble. It is a full time job. Killian hires a top PR firm to tamp the collateral damage that Trey has caused down. The company has taken a huge hit and this disaster needs to be dealt with ASAP.

Claire Montgomery is part of that PR team. Claire and Killian meet and the sparks fly between them instantly. Claire's insecurities kick in as she feels not worthy of Killian and feels she will never measure up. Claire also has some skeletons in her personal closet she is not willing to open the door to. They are off the charts compatible in the bedroom, but Claire needs more. I loved reading the push and pull of Claire and Killian. This Cinderella story also has an evil future Stepmother and Stepsister that are hell bent in causing heartache to Claire to keep her and Killian apart.

I am looking forward to the next book in this series to see what happens next.

Killian and Claire are Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boorific! Killian needs a PR firm to help him remake his brother Trey’s image. The scandal from his older brother has left him scrambling and he needs to find somebody to spin it. When he meets with Asher and Associates and gets an eyes on the delectable Claire he knows she’s just the girl to help him with oh so many things. Working for her Stepmother and Stepsister at the PR firm has never been easy and when Killian Stone comes looking for some reputation assistance they have their eyes set on them. Her stepsister has her eyes on Killian and warns Claire way and threatens her away should she get any ideas. There’s no stopping the insane chemistry she and Killian share, but a warning to this fairytale it shall be continued in book two, so a HFN is on the horizon.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book

Secrets kept

Wow, I've read several things by Angel Payne, but this is a first for Victoria Blue. I'm this book, Claire Montgomery and Killian Stone meet when her reputation firm is hired by SGC, (Killians company) to clean up his big brothers dirty laundry. There were sparks instantly, but because of a secret that Claire has she is afraid to act upon, even when Killian continues his relentless pursuit. But, Killian has a secret of his own. This is a story of a modern day Cinderella of sorts, but Claire doesn't have a glass slipper and Killian is no Prince Charming. But they do find that their happy for now.

Angel Payne and Victoria Blue are both amazing writers. They're what many writers strive for. Their prose is poetic and beautiful. I was truly captivated with the relationship and how it grew in the best, and yet flawed way. I love strong, dynamic, flawed characters and the authors created a world that is exciting, challenging and full of power. There is no distinction between who wrote what and that takes talent in itself.

Congrats! I'm ready for more!

Loosely based off the Cinderella story, where the princess gets her happily ever after, No Prince Charming promises an alluring love spectacle between Killian Stone, who could be as stoic and hard as his name implies, and Claire Montgomery, lonely and afraid that her secret might destroy the life she'd been building with her dad.

Secrets of Stone is a beautiful series that I have had the opportunity to begin with No Prince Charming. Although I have to admit that I didn't feel the Cinderella vibes at all in this book. (Except for Margaux, the evil stepsister). I loved how Claire and Killian's story began and flourished. Killian's hot and cold demeanor made him irrevocably hot and untouchable to my taste. I have to agree with Claire though, Killian Stone is nerve-numbing, bone-melting Alpha male and he lives up to that reputation. Claire, on the other hand, needed a little more push to the darker side. The PR Team that Claire was working with consisted of interesting characters, while the stepmom and stepdaughter definitely portrayed their roles magnificently.

And then there's Lance and Trey, the other Stone brothers who's got dirty tricks up their sleeves. Definitely worth knowing them in the next books!

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and I loved the Cinderella feel throughout the story. It was nice getting the point of view of both Killian and Claire.

Killian is no regular Prince Charming. He has many hidden secrets and suppressed feelings. Despite his confidence and cool exterior he harbors many secrets of his own. His Brother Trey seems to find plenty of negative activities that land them on the wrong side of the spot light. Killian hires a PR firm to help turn the negativie actions into a positive spin. This is where Claire comes in. The attraction is instant between the 2. She lacks confidence and he sees just how much she has to offer and how valuable she is. While they face many obstacles chemistry is not one of them. They are HOT and sexy. I loved the depth of these 2. I really like how Claire eventually finds her confidence despite the obstacles she encounters with her future Step Mom and Step Sister. Trust me there is plenty of drama between characters to keep you entertained and guessing.

I recommend this book. It is part of a Series.

Surprised this is rated so highly, having enjoyed more daring books much more. I don't know, maybe I just didn't spend the time with it that I should have, but it never really captured my interest. What looked to be a promising mash-up of the billionaire romance with a contemporary Cinderella twist instead felt mediocre and dragged on far too long. Not memorable.

So I have to admit... this book took me forever to finish. Not because it wasnt amazing. But just because I've had a lot on my plate. And hit the mother of all reading slumps a little over halfway through it.

But the holidays gave me the break I needed, and with a well purchased audio. I was able to pull out of it and get back to this wonderful book.

And dear lord. This one is so hot. Like H.O.T.T hot!!
Just everything about this one drew me in. It had the romance. It had the drama... boy did it have the drama haha.
It had the fun and sweet. And it had the memorable characters.

I was drawn in to this one from the start. Claire in general was such a complex character. She had so much dimension. And I couldn't help but lover her personality and drive. Plus she cares so much for her family and job. And I liked that she was this strong kick ass female.

Plus she had a great nemesis for this one. And I think that person played off of claire so well. And really helped make her shine, and showed her at her low points so she could attempt to overcome them. And I enjoyed that aspect so much. I cant help but not like a good bad guy. Or at least a good antagonist I should say haha.

And then there is Killian. Oh mama this man. How do I find me one of him in real life? haha
He was this total enigma as he would say hehe. He could be so kind and caring. And yet the tough and intimidating business man at the same time. He knows what he wants. And can be ruthless when he or someone in his life is threatened.
And the the hunky sensual side of him.... wowza! Haha
Gimmie some of that haha.

But it's not just these characters that drew me in. I love the buildup and work it took to develop. And how fast paced this story went. It kept me wanting to flip the pages. And when I found myself sucked back into this one after my slump.... I just couldn't put it down.

NO PRINCE CHARMING is by far a

I honestly don't know where to start with this book.

I was already inclined to dislike it the moment I read the first paragraph because it was written in the first person. I am not a fan of first person writing.

Because of the first person writing, I was having this odd thought running through my mind of Twilight and how this was somehow Twilight-inspired literature, but infinitely worse than Fifty Shades. I enjoyed Fifty Shades on the first read, don't get me wrong, but when I read it a second time I found it wasn't to my liking.

I found everything about this book contrived and ineffectual in moving me as a reader to enjoy the story. I couldn't get over the highly overwrought exaggeration of emotions, juvenile sex scenes which were cringe-worthy at best.

I couldn't relate to the characters - both were so uninteresting. The only one that made me even think there was a personality to the book was Margaux. I've known females like her and it was quite funny to see that women like that can be written about and laughed at. Honestly, she was the best part of the book.

The writing style isn't really my cup of tea because it was in the first person. I may have enjoyed the story a bit more if it had been written in the second or third person.

Sweet mother of god...there is a friggin' sequel? Dare I read it?

4 Star Review of No Prince Charming (Secrets Of Stone #1) by Angel Payne & Victoria Blue
The first book in the Secrets of Stone series and it is off to a good start. If this series is not on your TBR list then I suggest that you add it. This was a fast paced book, full of secrets; a fun and quirky take on Cinderella.
From the start I was entranced by Killian Stone and I was excited to see who the woman who would capture and hold his attention would be; Claire Montgomery did not disappoint.
Claire is a member of a PR team that has been called in to clean up the image of Stone Global Corporation. She has her own secrets, ones that she is determined will not be exposed.
Claire finds herself attracted to Killian and when you throw in the fact that Killian is enthralled with Claire, complications are sure to arise. Killian too has his secrets which he is bound and determined to keep, but all is not as it seems, despite the confident persona that Killian shows the world.
No Prince Charming is smoking hot and certainly delivers on the sizzle.Told in dual POV’s it will spark your interest and keep you entertained. Both Ms.Payne and Ms. Blue obviously work well together as it was impossible to determine who wrote what.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

Claire and Killian were an absolute pleasure to read about and I literally cannot wait to start book number 2.

Claire knows she is in for it when she learns she is going to be helping get the Stone family out of a PR nightmare. Killian’s brother Trey is a trouble maker and likes to have a good time. Unfortunately for the Stone family that means bad news. The company Claire works for needs to come in and get this story flipped around. Little does Claire know, Killian is going to give her a fun for her money.

Killian is automatically drawn to Claire just how she’s drawn to him. She trips on her words whenever he is around and he can’t stop trying to find ways to get closer to him. The closer he gets though the harder she tries to run so it becomes his mission in life to break down her walls.

We are left with a great ending to this book knowing a continuation of this couples journey awaits us and I can’t wait to read all about it. I can say though, that you could read this book and be satisfied with the ending as is.

Angel Payne and Victoria Blue are two of my favorite authors and the only thing I wish is that I would have picked up this series much sooner! This book was absolutely flawless and a must read!
