Stella lives and breathes cozy mysteries! With her head always buried inside these books, it’s no wonder that she would put pen to paper to bring her own cozy mysteries to life. The words flew onto the page, and she’s already teeming with ideas for the next series.

With her trusted canine by her side, it seemed only natural to be inspired by her beautiful beagle Doogle and the many hours they spent walking through scenic New England villages. When Stella’s not reading books, she’s off on road trips, exploring every nook and cranny in neighboring towns, seeking inspiration for her next book.

Interesting Mysteries

The books are highly character based, with the heroine Olivia at the center. The story is just as much about her relationships with her sister, her best friend, and her boyfriend as it is about the mystery. And her dogs and the dogs she walks have unique and fun personalities as well. The dogs even occasionally have an important role in resolving the mystery. I like that very much. Olivia does a lot of good investigating work in the books. But I have noticed so far she never really figures out who did it. Rather she kind of stumbles upon the solution. Or the solution stumbles into her. None-the-less without her sleuthing it is clear the mystery would not have been resolved. So there is that. I have enjoyed the books enough to binge read them.

Dog walker and doggie daycare owner Olivia just stop discovering dead bodies in this series of cozy mysteries with a canine connection. She's a bit of a clutz but surrounded by her sister, her best friend and her sometimes boyfriend, she stumbles her way through three different murder investigations with the kind of dogged (pun intended) determination, intuition and dumb luck that makes her a joy to read about. Toss in a little romance, a lot of family drama and a small town cast with all the quirks and foibles you'd expect and this Stella St. Claire series is a delight to read.
