Oh My Gracious, Grinning, Goodness!

Right off the bat, actually a hockey stick in this situation, I was sucked in immediately and knew this was going to be a firecracker of a read.

Loveable, huggable characters, witty, combative conversation, and a love/hate sexy storyline! Yes indeed, my kind of read ;)

So picture this ....

Girl is walking back to dorm room late at night
Girl stumbles upon a guy, buck naked and tied to a tree
Girl is welcomed by guy with hostility and arrogance
Girl tries to untie knots and only gets grief for being to slow
Girl walks away ticked off because the guy is a douchebag

Guy is found next morning in broad daylight still tied to a tree
Guy is sinfully hot and ripped in all the right places
Guy is new to college campus and a threat to the hockey team
Guy is understandably angry, and has a million reasons to be
Guy is loaded with personal baggage and could use a friend

Sparks fly between Girl and Guy, which I totally enjoyed!

Fabulous addition to Ms. Nathan’s sports/romance series, but all are stand alones.

4 “Hate-to-Love” Stars

"We both fought for control. Fought against what we initially thought about each other. And truth to be told, it made the kiss so much hotter. All the pent-up sexual tension he and I had been dancing around had finally come to a head. An explosive head."

I was intrigued from the moment I read the synopsis. Like honestly it was too damn hilarious. I went into this thinking, oh well this is just gonna be a crappy romance, the heroine will melt for the naked dude in the tree, chemistry sparks will fly. BUT I WAS WRONG. And I will not tell you why I was wrong, you can just go and figure it out for yourself. But honestly, What would you do if you found a guy naked tied to a tree asking for help at 3 am in the morning?

Chuckled because of the banter, grinned like an idiot because of the sweetness, fanned because of the hotness. Basically, everything I look for in lighter romances.

description

Sabrina and Crosby were very likable characters.
Both were stubborn, cocky and funny. After their first meet, him tied-up naked to a tree asking her for help, I was curious how would the story develop. I especially was a fan of Sabrina’s character, she was strong and literally didn’t take shit from anybody, great heroine. Both were closed off characters, because of different reasons, and I liked how the word love wasn’t even mentioned until the last page. I am all for the development of a relationship, especially a hate-to-love one.

The plot was always moving, and I flew through it, passing the pages to see how would their next interaction ended up in. We touched upon how parents decisions can end up affecting us in a bad way, the difficulty for an athlete to fit in with a new team, resentment and moving on. I was totally hooked, I finished this book in a few hours because it was addictive.

The sex scenes were in my alley. Hot, consensual and hot again. The sexual tension the author created from the first page was palpable and had me electrified when it was finally released, just great build-up work. The romance was subtly growing, and it was showed with action and scenes, rather than just words, my favorite. They were full of playful moments, but also very sweet ones, did I mention I was grinning like an idiot through the whole thing? Especially chapter 13, I loved the skating rink scene.

It is confirmed I loved hockey-sport-romances. I need more of those in my life, so if you have some favs, leave the recommends down below.

Great quick sports romance read. You have a free afternoon and feeling like picking up an entertaining- light romance, try this one.

It’s safe to say Sabrina will never forget the first time she laid eyes on Crosby Parks. I mean, the dude was naked and tied to a tree after all. Not something a girl’s likely to forget anytime soon. At first, she has every intention of helping the new transfer student/hockey phenom out of his bind, so to speak, but Crosby’s douchy first impression has Sabrina leaving him to fend for himself.

Crosby never panned on transferring colleges but events outside of his control means a new college and a new set of teammates that don’t just resent him, they hate him on sight. While the over the top hazing never seems to quit, he just has to make it through the season until he can enter the draft in the spring. His plan of all hockey all the time takes a nosedive when he meets Sabrina and can’t seem to get the contentious girl out of his head.

I enjoyed For Crosby, though I think I’m aging out enjoyment wise of these types of NA stories. I liked the writing in general and the banter between Crosby and Sabrina was all kinds of entertaining. As entertaining as the story is, in the end it left me a bit unsatisfied for some reason. Maybe it needed to be a little longer in order to better flesh out the main characters. Maybe I would’ve enjoyed it more had I read the previous two books in the series (though this can be read as a standalone). And maybe, just maybe, the bloodthirsty bitch in me wanted a little more retribution for those that did these characters wrong time and time again.

Though I had my issues, I’d still recommend For Crosby to any NA fan looking for a little bit of that love/hate action we all seem to enjoy.

Overall Opinion: This was alright. I think "alright" is the word of this review, because I used it so much! I didn't love this, but I didn't hate it either. I liked some parts, but then I felt underwhelmed in others. I think a middle of the road 3 Star rating is completely fitting for this book 🤷🏻‍♀️

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Sabrina and Crosby's story. They meet one night when Crosby is tied naked to a tree for being the new hockey player on the team and Sabrina is walking home from a party. They bump heads for a while, but eventually they see that their initial impressions of each other weren't all that accurate. Over the school's winter break they are inseparable. There are some funny moments, some sexy times, some drama...and they get a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Sabrina and Crosby's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well.

Instalove: No, they take a little bit to develop stronger feelings. In the grand scheme of things, it did move pretty fast time-wise -- but it didn't have the typical "instalove" feel to me. It did have the hate-to-love thing going on at the beginning.

H rating: 3.5 stars. Crosby. I felt bad for his circumstances, but I appreciated how he was upfront and let the h know how he was feeling after she got past his walls.

h rating: 3 stars. Sabrina. She was alright. Nothing all that spectacular, honestly.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This had alright closure with what I would call a HFN ending. I still wanted more of a glimpse into their future, but it felt meh instead .

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

For Crosby is the third book in the For You series, and with it Nathan has expanded her college romance world with the story of NHL hopeful Crosby Parks and the girl who left him tied to a tree… naked.

When Crosby’s picture perfect life falls apart, he’s sent to Alabama to get it back on track. All he had to do was play like the pro athlete he dreams of being, keep out of trouble and graduate. It seemed simple enough until he’s tied naked to a campus tree in the middle of the night and he manages to antagonize the only person who happened to walk by.

Sabrina really did try to help the gorgeous guy in a bind, but wasn’t about to suffer through his pain in the derriere attitude and left him there. Except, he did eventually get free and now she’s constantly crossing paths with him and their hostile interactions only seem to escalate. But with each exchange, they learn a bit more about each other until Sabrina cracks the anger barrier Crosby had shielded himself with.

Nathan absolutely nails the book’s blend of sharp banter and explosive chemistry paired with genuinely sweet romance; Sabrina and Crosby’s angry mating dance had me hooked from the start, I was either lost in their crackling exchanges or tearing through the pages to know what was behind Crosby’s anger and why he was being targeted.

Both Sabrina and Crosby are terrific characters, their strong personalities feed their aspirations and make them an appealing central couple. Sabrina is an honest, no nonsense kind of girl who’s easy to relate with. Crosby is my favorite kind of bad boy, tough and brooding on the outside but vulnerable and caring on the inside trying to be worthy of Sabrina. It was impossible not to fall in love with them.

The story brings back the lively of characters from the previous books supporting Sabrina and befriending Crosby creating a warm cast of friends I hope to read more of in subsequent books.

For Crosby is book #3 of the For You series by J. Nathan. It is a standalone contemporary romance, told from both points of view with a happily ever after that left me happy and satisfied.

Right from the opening scene, I was prepared to hate Sabrina. For the first dozen or so pages I did. You don't leave someone tied to a tree; you don't, that's horrible. To be honest, while I might have been able to get past it, I'm not sure I was able to forgive her. It's all right though, we all do stupid things in university. Read More.

‘I laughed, but my laughter was silenced by the softness of his lips and the slow glide of his tongue as he kissed me. He was saying what neither us wanted to say. What we were too stubborn to say. This thing between us could be real.’

We’ve adored the For You Series, and it has to be said that J Nathan writes exceptional NA stories, relying on emotion and engaging characters to drive her stories, and both For Finlay and For Forester were examples of her captivating prose; both stories filled with sweet, emotional, moving moments, delivered with an injection of humour, that have managed to sweep us off our feet.

In For Crosby, we’ve moved from the football field in previous books, to the Hockey arena, and you could say Crosby and Sabrina’s first meeting was a tad unconventional …..After all, it’s not every day you meet a woman whilst you’re naked and tied to a tree! And she walks away and leaves you there!

Sabrina is Finlay’s friend from For Finlay (Finlay and Caden’s story), the girl who always seemed to fall for the guys who had fallen for someone else, like Trace Forester in Finding Forester (Trace and Marin’s story). Does Sabrina love the challenge or is she desperately unlucky in love?

One thing she’s not, and that’s a pushover! Sabrina is sassy and fiercely loyal! She’s not afraid to speak her mind and she certainly gives Crosby Parks a run for his money, and the snarky banter between these two was spot on. Enemies, to friends, to lovers and it was all wonderfully done!

‘She added light to the otherwise bleak existence I’d been living.’

Crosby has transferred mid semester from college in Texas, where he was on the cusp of being scouted for the NHL, to college in Alabama where he is at the mercy of his hockey team mates who, led by the awful Jeremy, seem jealous of his talent and make it their goal to ostracise him.

“No one wanted to be hurt, and letting people in was a sure-fire way to do that.”

Sabrina believes Crosby to be a cocky, arrogant arse but soon uncovers the reason why Crosby is so shut off and so prickly. Crosby is carrying a lot of weight on his young shoulders and our hearts broke for him.

J Nathan does an excellent job of telling Crosby’s story which we learn firsthand via intermittent pov’s from Crosby himself, lending to the emotional intensity of the story, whilst making you swoon in the process.

“I want you,” he murmured against my lips.
“I’m right here.”

This series is one of our favourite NA series for a reason. J Nathan knows when to pull at our heartstrings, when to provide us with a giggle or a smile, when to heat up the pages and when to deliver the sweet romance we crave. She delivers it all and whilst For Crosby may not have been our favourite to date, there’s no denying we enjoyed every book in the For You series so far!

“I wish you could see your face right now.”
“Why?”
“Because you look so damn beautiful.”

Whilst this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone, however for us it was fabulous to catch up with the characters from previous books which provided a little added bonus.

A sports-related college romance that is adorable, sassy & sweet. Tied to a tree, the naked hockey transfer quickly draws attention. And the girl who left him there is one spitfire heroine. Both characters – Sabrina and Crosby – will steal your heart.

Their banter was some of the best I’ve read. Their meet and greet probably the best. And the romance – well, it was a power play.

A short, quick standalone – even though it’s part of a series. Told from both Crosby and Sabrina’s POVs. And oh wow! The ending, along with the Epilogue make this a very satisfying read.

2nd read: 2023
1st read : 2019

I was given a copy of this book by the New Adult Book Club and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

After reading and enjoying the first two books in this series, I was really looking forward to reading the third book ‘For Crosby’. And I’m happy to say that I love it very much! It’s even my favourite book of the ‘For you’ series.

This book is about Sabrina, Finlay’s best friend, so she’s a character that we already met in the previous books. She was a character that I really liked so I was happy to discovered that this book was about her. You don’t have to read the first two books to read this one. It can be read as a standalone but if you have read them you will recognize some characters.
The story is told from both POV’s.

This book is a bit different because Crosby is an ice hockey player and not a football player (like the guys in the previous books). But I love reading about both sports in my books so I was excited that Crosby played ice hockey. But I must confess that I did have my doubts at the beginning of the book about Crosby, I wasn’t sure that I would love him as much as I loved Caden and Forrester. Because he was being arrogant and not so nice towards Sabrina in the beginning of the story. But luckily Sabrina is a girl who knows how to put an arrogant guy in his place. It was a pleasure to read about their encounters and their interactions with each other! There was a lot of chemistry between them. And I must say that the more I got to know Crosby and learned about his past, the more I fell for him… and yes! He’s now my favourite guy of this series!

One of the things that I love about this series is the fact that in each book the writer J. Nathan writes about a specific different, emotional theme but it never gets too dark. I really love how the writer balance everything just right. I’m really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Crosby Parks is just trying to make it—"fake it ‘til you make it” is his motto. He’s forced to restart his college career in Alabama since the media storm in Texas became too distracting, and frankly too unsafe. His plan is to stay under the radar to graduate, play hockey and make the pros. But there’s something afoot the day he steps on campus—something that’s going to make this grand “under the radar” plan nearly impossible to pan out, and not just because on day one he finds himself naked and tied to a tree.

Sabrina cannot believe her eyes when she spots Crosby tied to that tree—naked as the day he was born and noticing all his parts, not just those amazing tattoos. Too bad she discovers his personality is lacking underneath all that promising hotness.

But what if all that bravado is hiding a heart of gold? What if Crosby just needs someone to see beneath the cocky protective layers to the man underneath. Can Sabrina look past what she thinks she knows to see the man who’s vulnerable and really just needs someone to care about him?

I am a sucker for an amazing sports romance, and For Crosby is just that—amazing. I loved the enemies-to-lovers romance between Crosby and Sabrina. Loved how they both allowed the other to see their true selves, to show their vulnerable side. I loved how fiercely protective they were with each other—and that they both fought for what was right. Well, eventually anyway. I loved how they loved each other and that their romance was never really in doubt, just their life circumstances screwing things up for them. Swoon. I can’t wait for more. I’m really hoping Grady gets his own book—he’s quite the enigma. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

What a stunning book in the For You series by J. Nathan. For Crosby completely grabbed me by the heart strings. It was a deeply heartfelt story that touched me beyond words. J. Nathan certainly holds nothing back in her delivery of each story. Readers get a mix of everything; intricately woven together to produce an eye popping and mindblowing read. J. Nathan is a very talented author and her talent is evident in every single paragraph. I am such a fan of this author's free flowing and creative writing style. Her attention to details always make me feel as though you are right there with the characters. For Crosby was a fantastic read that I devoured in less than 2 hours, because the super talented J. Nathan's addictive writing style wouldn't allow for me to put it down until every page was turned. This story took me on an emotional roller coaster ride and had some twists and turns that I did not see coming.

Both Sabrina and Crosby are terrific characters. Their strong personalities feed their aspirations and make them an appealing central couple. Sabrina is an honest, no nonsense kind of girl who’s easy to relate to. Crosby is my favorite kind of bad boy, tough and brooding on the outside but vulnerable and caring on the inside trying his damn hardest to be worthy of Sabrina. Together, they made a perfect couple and it was impossible not to fall in love with them.

The writing in this book is beautiful and captivating. The characters stayed with me long after I finished reading. I already can’t wait for more books in this series. J. Nathan had me completely hooked as a fan since I first read her and For Crosby just made me love her books even more.

I'm not sure if "meet cute" is quite the way to describe Crosby and Sabrina's first meeting, but it sure was an entertaining one!
For Crosby was a fun read- I loved the back and forth between these 2. You could feel the sexual tension just rolling off of them and I couldn't wait for the payoff! But there was so much more to their story than just the witty banter, smoking hot chemistry, and hate-to-love-you feelings they were dealing with. I liked that there was more to Crosby than just the cocky, arrogant jock he made himself out to be. At times I got so angry for him, because of what he was dealing with and putting up with, even if some of it was by choice.
I really liked how strong of a character Sabrina was- she's feisty, doesn't take crap from anyone, stands up for herself. Nice to see that in a female for a change! I enjoyed the way she gave as good as she got with Crosby. And I loved how, once she got to know the "real" Crosby, she was his champion and defender.

This was such an enjoyable read!

I had to read this after hearing the premise! I’m just a sucker for the enemies to lovers trope at the moment!
It was a fun and sexy read, and I liked the characters.
Some of the writing could have been better, but I was after some fluff and this made me smile.

"No one wanted to be hurt, and letting people in was a sure-fire way to do that."

I happened upon J. Nathan's debut novel by accident and I've been patting myself on the back ever since. She's such a talented author and her stories never fail to keep me engrossed from start to finish.

I have to give the author credit for coming up with a unique way for the two main characters to meet. It makes me smile every time I think about Sabrina finding Crosby tied to a tree... naked.

Of course, Crosby is angry about what had been done to him. But he most definitely took the wrong approach to requesting that Sabrina help him out of his predicament. It's too bad they didn't gag him when they tied him up because his mouth just made his situation worse. Sabrina was not one of the simpering puck bunnies who would drool over his physique and do anything he asked. She'd been the wingman for long enough, always there to save the day, listening and supporting everyone else. Well, now it was her turn. She didn't have time for silly games and arrogant assholes.

For Crosby was so entertaining. The sparks flew between #MrHockey and the #IceQueen from the very beginning. Their arguments were heated and their banter was hilarious. I knew it was just a matter of time before they gave into their attraction, but what fun it was to see them fight it and each other. I was also thrilled to spend more time with Finlay and Caden. As Sabrina's roommate, Finlay had a front-row seat to the show and I enjoyed her commentary.

As always there are good guys, bad guys, secrets, and surprises as the story unfolds. I was gripping my Kindle with anticipation one minute and then ready to throw it the next. What an amazing cast of characters, including several that I hope to get to know much better in a future installment. The line forms here...

For Crosby brings together two of my favourite romance genres, sport and collage romance done in a really well manner. As soon as I read the blurb for this story I immediately jumped at the chance to read it and I was not disappointed. J. Nathan had me engrossed from the start to the end of this story with the intriguing storyline that they have written. The way that the main characters met had me laughing out loud and then at the end I felt my heart melt at the sweetness of both characters. I loved the way that the characters didn’t like each other at the start of the story and then started to get to know each other better.

Sabrina I absolutely adored with her witty remarks to her friends and her comebacks that she comes up with for Crosby. These all made me crack up laughing and cheering her on. I loved the way that she also looked after the people she cared for and even for Crosby when she wasn’t his biggest fan.

Crosby I really felt bad for because of the way that his world crumbled around him and the way he was treated when he moved to his new school. At first, he came across as a cocky hockey player, but it was obvious there was much more to him. I loved the way that he showed a different side of himself to Sabrina.

For Crosby is about Hockey Player Crosby who had everything he could want in life, until it all comes falling down around him from no fault of his own. To escape the storm, he is sent to Alabama where he is determined to rebuild his life. But his plans don’t go exactly to plan after meeting Sabrina one night tied naked to tree.

For Crosby had everything I love about romance stories and I could not put it down. There were so many things in this story that I loved, from the characters in the story to the storyline. This was the first story I have read of this author and I became an instant fan after reading this story. I cannot wait to read more form J. Nathan.

For Crosby is the third book in the For You Series by J. Nathan. It is a New Adult, sports romance with a bit of an enemies to lovers feel to it.
Crosby Parks hasn’t had a great time of late and his great life began to disintegrate before him. He’s been forced to change colleges in the hopes of staying on track to play professional hockey. All he has to do is keep his head down and apply himself. Easier said than done when he’s stripped naked and tied to a tree on the first day there.
Sabrina is sick of playing second fiddle when she happens to stumble on Crosby in his somewhat revealing predicament, but they don’t exactly get off to a great start. She may have left him tied to the tree, because he came across as quite arrogant and she wasn’t going to take it. Now they can’t seem to forget the incident and just move past it, as the two keep crossing paths.
The sparks certainly fly. Their funny quips and banter had me grinning like a fool. There is just no ignoring their chemistry and I loved watching them try to deny it, before finally giving up.
This story/series is well worth the read!

Thank you, Ms. Nathan!

Sabrina might have pushed her crush to friend-zone her and into another girls arms but she is over the whole college guys. When she comes across Crosby tided up to a tree she tries to free him but when Crosby starts getting all snippy with Sabrina she leaves him tied up to the tree all naked for the whole world to see the next day. Crosby may have been trying to fly under the radar and just get scouted by any hockey to team and just get the heck out of Alabama. As Crosby and Sabrina get to know each other and get over their initial dislike of each other feeling start to develop and soon they both realize as long as they have each other they can get through anything. This is the first book that I've read from J. Nathan and I am really hooked. I am definitely going to have to read more J. Nathan's work.

***I was given this ARC by NetGalley and publisher as an exchange for an honest review.

This is the second story that I read by J. Nathan and I am loving this just as much as the first one. It was an enemies to lovers and a sports romance. Two of my favorite tropes. This is the story of Crosby and Sabrina. The characters meet after Sabrina is walking to her dorm and she hears someone calling out to her and she meets Crosby who has been tied naked to a tree. This interaction does not end well and thus the hate/love between them begins.

Crosby has some issues to work out and he just projects an attitude to everyone. Sabrina doesn't want to get close to him because of this but she senses there is more to him. This was a good quick story even though it is part of a series, you don't need to read the others to understand this story. You do get to see characters from the other books in the series so it was nice to visit with them and see how they are doing.

For Crosby is book three is the For You series but it can be read as a standalone. This one so far is my favorite one in the For You series. I absolutely love the way Crosby and Sabrina first meet. Crosby comes off as a grumpy, angry guy but he has layers and he's not as bad as his first impression makes him seem. Sabrina has is a pretty nice girl. She has huge heart. She doesn't really like Crosby at first but that changes. I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. This one is a must read!

Why isn't everyone talking about J. Nathan everywhere? She is one of my favorite New Adult Authors. She transports right back to college. To the days of bad decisions, sexy assholes, and young love. She has innate ability to make me laugh one second and tear up the next. For Crosby, was no exception. Witty banter, hilarious antics, and a deep, heart stopping story, for me, this one was a touchdown. Or should I say goal?! I loved it!

4.5 stars (blech...Bama)

I'm just loving this series and how each couple encounters different obstacles.

Crosby and Sabrina are just amazing. I love how much they both grow, and Grady is turning out to be not as much of a prick as he was to Finaly. Loved seeing previous peeps. Plus there's a great epilogue.

I enjoy reading a NA novel from time to time and particularly like sports romances. For Crosby was light on the sports (which was fine), but unfortunately it also had nothing else going for it. It reads like the thousands of other NA books with a few tweaked facts.

When Crosby's parents are imprisoned for embezzling, Crosby's life gets flipped upside down. We went from being the star hockey player on his team, to shunned by everyone around him. With no family left, he packs up and heads to Alabama to finish out his year of college, and make it to the big leagues. Except, his whole plan to fly under the radar and finish out his year goes awry when he finds himself naked and tied to a tree by his own teammates. Let's just say that moment was only the beginning for Crosby at his new school.

I actually started to read For Crosby first without reading the previous two novels. The synopsis says that it's a stand alone, however, starting this book, I felt like I was missing something. Sabrina is talking about pushing a guy she had a thing for towards another girl. She reflects on a guy who harassed her friend last year. While I'm sure I could have read the story no problem, I felt like I'd get a better understanding of Sabrina and her surroundings if I went back and read the previous books... and I was right. While the previous books don't have overlay in this story, I felt a greater sense of community and friendship once I went back and read them. So, I'm glad that I went back to the beginning because not only did I enjoy this story more that I probably would have, I devoured each of those books in a day. Trust me, it's no hardship to go back and start this series from the top.

I just need to take a moment and say that I LOVED Sabrina's character. She didn't take Crosby's crap at all. When she finds him tied to a tree, she tries to help him but when his attitude proves to be difficult, she throws her hands up and walks off. He was pretty cocky, arrogant, and a bit of a jerk, however, in hindsight I can't blame him. I mean, he just found out that his father betrayed his mother, his friends all turned their backs on him, and on his first day at his new school he is tied to a tree by his own teammates... naked! I don't blame him for being grouchy, and having major trust issues. However, when the big bear started grumbling at her, Sabrina would grown right back at him and show him that she was no pushover. Which made for some pretty hot sexual tension. Once she finds out about Crosby's past and realizes that he's not just a jerk, she sets off to make things right. She wasn't above admitting she was wrong and extending an olive branch to Crosby. I also admired her tenacity when stuff hits the fan. This girl did not go down without a fight.

This was just an all around great story. I guess I should say that it was ANOTHER great story by this author. For Crosby may be my favorite thus far. I just loved the dynamic of these two, how strong they each were, and just watching their romance slowly blossom. I loved that we got both of the POVs because it allowed me to see that Crosby was a great guy, he was just absolutely miserable and alone at his new school and was always looking over his shoulder for the next shoe to fall. If you are a fan of romance, a fan of college/sport romance, you have got to pick up this series, or at the very least For Crosby.

***I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the opportunity to read this title.***

For Crosby, by J. Nathan, was a breeze to get through. Sabrina and Crosby meet in a unique way. She finds him naked and tied to a tree in the middle of the school’s campus. She begins to help him, but his attitude stinks. She gives up and figures he’s getting what he deserves. After being questioned by the dean about the incident, she seeks Crosby out to ask him why he didn’t report the guys who hazed him. Crosby won’t give up his reasons, but he’s intrigued that she didn’t tell the dean what she knows. Plus, he enjoys pushing her buttons. Since Crosby’s a recent transfer, Sabrina knows very little about him. She’s seen 2 sides of him, ‘Mr. Hockey—the arrogant full-of-himself hockey player—and the real Crosby. The more she gets to know him, the more she realizes he needs someone he can count on, and that someone might be her.

Sabrina was so kickass. She had so much sass and personality. I loved that she didn’t take crap from anyone. Crosby comes off as a jerk when we first meet him, but we quickly learn that he’s only protecting himself from the anger and hate surrounding his father’s actions. Once he let Sabrina in, he was a lovely guy. And I think he brought the best out in Sabrina as well. I loved watching them grow closer and fall for one another over Christmas break. The subplot of the dean trying to get to the bottom of the hazing was really interesting and added a lot of elements to the plot, as did Crosby’s back story. I thought Sabrina’s friends were cool, so much so that I plan to read the other books in this series. I had a bit of an issue with Crosby after they broke up. I really liked the way the story ended though. Like I said above, Sabrina was so kickass that what she did was easy to believe.

I’d recommend this book to anyone who’s looking for a quick contemporary romance, or anyone who likes sports stories or college stories. I really enjoyed it.

For Crosby by J. Nathan is book three in her For You series. This book can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest reading all the books in this series as they are all just as enjoyable. This is sports romance book that will keep you engaged until the end. It pulled me in right from the beginning and kept me reading until the last page. I enjoy this author's writing style. It is free flowing and creative. Her attention to details make you feel as if you are right there with the characters. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster ride and had some twists and turns that I didn't see coming. This is a story about a hockey player named Crosby. Crosby had it all, a good family, money until he didn't have it anymore. He was sent to college in Alabama where he knew if he was going to get into the pros he would have to keep a low profile. But as he is learning that is easier said then done. Sabrina was leaving a party one night when she comes across a man tied to a tree naked. This is the start of her life being turned upside down, she just doesn't know it yet. What will happen when this man gets free? I enjoyed both of these characters. They are strong, independent and feisty. They both know what they want and how to get it. This story has some bullying going on but the way it was handled was understandable. These two have great chemistry. I found myself hoping that they would get together at the end but you will have to read to find out! They both were attracted to each other from the beginning but giving one self free can sometimes be the problem. The secondary characters are a great support. Some of them are from the previous two books which was great to see. Sometimes, I wanted to ask them what they were thinking because of the situations but they keep the story flowing. I highly recommend this book. Find out what happens to when a hockey player gets tied to a tree!

I received a copy via Net Galley and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.

I absolutely adore hot hockey players so I knew this was a book I just had to read. I knew I was right when I encounter said hot hockey player tied naked to a tree. What could be a better start to a romance book than that? I know I can't think of any. J. Nathan soon drew me into this fictional world and had me wanting to pull up a comfy chair and stay there watching the sexy banter between Sabrina and Crosby grow into a passion the size of a tidal wave that can't be stopped. They kept me laughing and panting throughout For Crosby and wishing their story could go on forever.

Crosby Parks has layer upon layer to him that no reader could possibly predict. But once you learn all about him, his “I hate you” over the top alpha male tendencies seem completely forgivable. Crosby is more than a sculpted body and dirty talk. He shows us the big scarred heart underneath and you can't help but fall hopelessly for him.

I totally enjoyed every moment with Sabrina, she is sassy and has a comeback quip for everything. She kept me laughing through the tears and wanting to be her bestie so I could bask in her glory forever. I love a heroine who is bad ass, a smart ass, and intelligent with a big heart. And Sabrina fits that description to a T!

J. Nathan delivers a romance that shows emotional depth, heat, and sardonic wit. I highly recommend For Crosby for a love story that is sure to set up residence in your heart. I cannot wait to go back to the beginning of the For You series and learn more about J. Nathan's amazing characters that I have already grown to love in For Crosby and I am left full of hope that J. Nathan will give us many more books in this series to cherish.
