The Agency #3

Contracted

Rate this book
Years ago, I was burned by a woman.
I forgave, but I haven’t forgotten, and it’s a road I’ll never go down again.
My career has become my life instead.
I’m Max Graham, the biggest music agent in the business.
Women love me, but I don’t do love anymore.
I’ve found another way to meet my needs.
Eve Kennedy—stylist to the stars and total bombshell.
By far, she’s the most daring woman I’ve ever had in my bed with a sexual appetite as ferocious as mine.
We might just have the hottest sex life in Miami and LA.
We don’t date anyone else—although, sometimes, we invite someone for a night.
We travel the world, and I lavish her with gifts.
But she knows my career comes first.
And the best part?
For the past two years, she’s been happy with our arrangement.
Or so I thought.
I’ve survived heartbreak once before, but this one could be the end of me.

"It was her. It was always her."
description

Contracted is contemporary romance masterpiece. With complex characters, a riveting plot, and sweltering passion, this stand-alone drama offers a perfect blend for your must-read now shelf!

description
"I had everything I wanted-a gorgeous cunt in my face and a hot, wet mouth sucking my cock."
Eve Kennedy is a professional powerhouse who is fearless and full of life. A stylist to the stars, Eve is independent and driven to get everything her heart desires. After dating Max Graham, a successful music agent, for two years, Eve discovers her heart desires MORE. More of Max in her life. Although the two have a plethora of passion and romance in their relationship when Eve makes her requests known to Max, Max is too focused on his career to recognize Eve's place in his life and in his heart. What happens when the man who has it all looses the one thing he never knew he really wanted?

description
"I want you to fight for me.
I want you to hold me in your arms and tell me that leaving will be the biggest mistake of my life."
Told in dual POV, Contracted is absolute perfection. Eve and Max are both complex characters who are successful, driven, and adventurous in the bedroom. The emotions run deep as they are torn apart. Eve is unyielding about recognizing her worth. Her desire to be a permanent fixture in Max's life outweighs her physical attraction to him. I applaud Eve's determination and persistence. Who doesn't love a strong heroine who isn't afraid to stand up to the hot alpha male in her life? The transformation Max experiences is life-altering. Max dominates in every aspect of his life. However, when he realizes the colossal mistake he has made, the intensity of the plot increases as he fights to get Eve back. The tempo of the read is heightened as each moment seamlessly blends into the next. The dialogue is rich with witty text and consuming passion. The supporting characters continue to play a pivotal role in the plot as the agency continues to grow. The undertones of friendship and the importance of family continue to play a vital role in the agency. I adore these characters and everytime I step back into their world it is like I am returning home. As always, Ms. Mann has created a story full of unrelenting passion and heart. Her commitment to Max and Eve and their story is evident through the expert character development and innovative plot.

description

Overall, I highly recommend Contracted to anyone who enjoys a spunky heroine matched with a strong alpha male. With smoldering hot passion and tender romance, Max and Eve's story is nothing short of EPIC PERFECTION! Although I adore all of the books in the agency, Contracted is absolutely my favorite and one that I will keep loaded on my kindle at all times. Marni Mann has done it again! Bravo, Ms. Mann! I cannot wait for more!

**Available Now**

When I started reading this series with The Agency group, Max and Eva had me intrigued from the first book. Max is one of the partners working for the talent agency and Eva is best friends and stylist to James Ryne (from Signed).

Max & Eva's story begins in the book Signed, we got snippets in Endorsed, and we finally get their story in Contracted. And let me say this, I knew it would be good, it would interesting, and I was so excited to get their full story in their own book. Now, after getting it, I barely have any hair left.

I barely have finger nails left

I need a drink, or ten

But even with all that, this author had me loving so hard on Max and Eva! Their relationship, oh goodness, where do I begin...... It was basically friends with benefits, but exclusively. They lived on opposite coasts, saw each other a few times a month. So what happens when one of them decides to want MORE??

"I want to wake up next to you every morning. I want to eat breakfast with you when we get home from the gym. I want to jump in the shower with you as you're getting ready for work. I want to see your face over candlelight. I want your lips to be the last thing I kiss before I close my eyes."

The other one doesn't want that. Wants to continue to just be sex buddies. Yes he has feelings for her, but not as deep as her feelings for him. Predictable plot, predictable outcome for me, however, I LOVED IT!!!

So when Eva takes a job overseas for 6 months, how will Max handle this?? Will he let her go, will he stop her by confessing his love, will he beg her to stay?

If you've read Signed and Endorsed, you will definitely want to read this one. We are gifted all the characters and I am just in love with this group. The angst level is crazy for me during this read, I was pissed off at Max for a lot of this book, but he definitely redeemed himself for me in the end. I can not wait for Scarlett's book. If its anything like this one, it'll just keep getting better and better than the last book =)))

Wooooo-eeee!! This book was muy caliente!! In Contracted, Marni Mann gave the perfect blend of eroticism and romance, which had me quickly falling in love with it. I thought I already knew what I needed to know about Max and Eve when I read Signed. Ha Ha! Not even close!

Max was once bitten, twice shy. After having his heart broken by his high school sweetheart, he devoted himself to his work. His career was the only thing to be trusted and everything and everyone came second best. When Eve came into the picture, she was fine with his outlook on life. Between fancy trips, expensive gifts, and exclusive restaurants, Max more than made an effort in trying to keep her happy. She was also quite focused on her career and was content enough not to rock the status quo. That is until their best friends are about to get married and everything that was good, Eve now finds lacking. What happens when her request for ‘more’ is more than what Max can handle?

Eve was a real sweetheart and an awesome friend, but it was Max who definitely stole the show for me. I’m not sure if this was due to his dominance, his determination, his focus, or his ignorant blindness to the realities of life, but he made my day while reading all about him. When it came to him and Eve, their issues came from miscommunication or maybe the lack of communication. I really liked how the author showed that the road to happily ever after isn’t always easy, that there are probably going to be bumps along the way, and that where there’s love, there’s a way. You can’t help but root for these two characters to make it. The fact that their chemistry was off-the-charts sure didn’t hurt! If you like your romance to be realistic with tons of spice, then you need to add Contracted to your must-read list today!!

On pause.

To my safety gang gals:

So I reached 16% of this and got a big surprise. We first meet the protagonists of this book in Signed and I was really looking forward to reading about them being together. Maybe I should have done more research but since I read the previous book I didn't think I needed to... You can read this as a standalone though and it picks up after they've been dating exclusively for two years.

On the first sex scene they have together,

Marni Mann is an amazing author and I've enjoyed everything I've read from her but I don't know how to read this. I don't know if this can ever be a "true" HEA. I'll probably get back to it at some point because I'm too curious for my own good.

This is the BEST book of the series. We've had Brett & James story , Jack & Samantha story, so Max & Eve story was next step and it's a giant leap from first book, In terms of heat, angst, tears & Passion. Max Graham is self confessed workaholic. An ambitious agent on the rise & rise and he works his tight ass off, for it. Eve Kennedy is his counterpart & match in ambition, zeal, passion and sexuality. She's an equal partner throughout their relationship. Choosing to remain in-the-moment, no strings attached, no future planning, no tantrums, no monogamy. It's a match made in heaven where hungry bodies need to be fed & replenised, hearts are kept aside.
“We’re talking about Max Graham. That man doesn’t compromise. He’s as ruthless in business as he is in the bedroom and everyday life. It’s his way. Always. And there are no exceptions.”

description

That becomes a problem because Eve's heart develops a crack and feelings seep in
They. Are. Doomed !.
She starts looking for MORE , could be James's impending nuptials, or her ticking biological clock or the fact that Max has consumed her senses all around.
I want to wake up next to you every morning . I want to eat breakfast with you when we get home from the gym. I want to jump in the shower with you as you’re getting ready for work. I want to see your face over candlelight. I want your lips to be the last thing I kiss before I close my eyes.

description

Now the story is at an impasse and Marni skillfully negotiates around the minefield of emotions, carrying wounded hearts and career mirages. Skirting around personal ambitions and golden futures, they are charging at windmills it seems. Marni is a master at writing smouldering sex scenes, very detailed yet fresh, she keeps the readers spellbound and this book is no different. I was moist in my eyes and otherwise😜 it touched my heart and my soul at multiple places.
Eve, You deserved more.
I know that.
I wish I’d given it to you.
I wish you’d let me give it to you now. —Max

description

Im guessing Scarlett still hasn't met her match or else her book would be out too
#WriteMarniWrite, we need scarlett's story and probably Shawn's story next. Come to think of it, could be just one book **hint..hint** marni!😉
Amazing story, I read it in one go!

The book was lacking one big thing. Romance. And that tired and frustrated me because for half the book Eve and Max weren't in the same city or country or at the same mindset. I was expecting Max after the accident to realize that he was in love with Eve and couldn't live without her, but he kept singing the same tune as before. I still don't buy his change of heart. And as if that wasn't enough he was spending a lot of time with his ex. The same ex who cheated on him and ruined him for the other women. His relationship with her had a better development than the one he had with Eve. I was wishing she would dump his arse and move on with another man leaving Max to rot alone. He wasted 36 chapters on insisting that he and Eve were good enough without saying the "I love yous" or something that might resemble a relationship.

Here is also something that some of you might not like. Eve brings a treat to Max early in the book. That treat is another woman and they have a threesome. That's so not my thing since I don't like a third person added to the mix when there is not a triad. That not only threw me off but also turned me off because it was sudden.

I wouldn't recommend the book. It was frustrating and I wasn't even able to enjoy the angsty moments of it. Max is a bad hero and Eve deserved someone better. Contracted is the worst book in the series. I am looking forward to Scarlett's story though.

Unsafe read alert!

More on this review by the Wonderful Aisling Zena. I love that as far as I remember she isn't as picky on safety as other safety gang pals but she always remembers to give us warnings. Thank you Aisling for keeping the safety gang in mind when writing your reviews.

Note: Technically this isn't cheating but I consider OW as cheating when this happens after I pair H and h. I pair them after they kiss for the first time even if they aren't officially going out yet. For me their first kiss is when I consider they should remain monogamous and true to each other. If Hero looks at OW (other woman) naked, or takes her to a hotel even if he doesn't carry on with sex counts as cheating when this happens after he kissed h.

5 stars!!!

“I love you more.”

OMG, I have been in love with this author for a long, long time, but Marni Mann brought out her ‘A’ Game with Contracted and knocked it into the stratosphere. This author has written so many fantastic books that often fly under the radar, but this is one of those books that needs to be read. This is by far my favourite book in this connected series and I am even going as far to say as my favourite contemporary romance by this author, it is seriously that good. Deliciously hot, insanely sexy and incredibly emotional, this book had it all and hits your emotions, heart and soul with deadly accuracy. I had tears, a lot of tears, but I had tears of laughter too, I swooned hard, I loved harder and I couldn’t put this book down. This is a book I could read time and time again, one of those love stories that will stay with you for a long, long time, at least it will for me.

“And they are things you can give her, you’re just too stubborn and scared and extremely scarred.”

As I said above, this book is insanely hot, your kindle will definitely need freezer time with this baby. But that is something that Marni Mann always does incredibly well, she is one of the queens of sex. For a seemingly shy and timid author, I don’t know where this side comes from, but I am not complaining. Marni Mann nailed the character connection in this book and I mean seriously nailed it. I lived and breathed this story with these characters, I felt it all, I lived it all and when they broke, I broke too. I was a mess when the course of true love didn’t run smooth, but that is the nature of the beast and if it was meant to be, it will. Of course, the author pieces your shattered heart back together with heartfelt scenes, a heap more of that delicious emotion and a lot of soul searching and swoon worthy moments. These are two characters that were incredibly relatable, honest and lovable and this reader certainly got sucked right in.

“He was worried he would lose me, but he’d already lost me. And in this bed, I’d given him a chance to get me back.
He hadn’t taken it.”

Max and Eve have been lovers with benefits for a long time. They are both exclusive and sometimes a third may be introduced to spice up their incredibly hot sex life, but they are monogamous. Both are incredibly busy, they live states apart, but when these two get together, the pages just incinerate. These two are fucking HOT!! Max has been burned and burned bad and so he threw himself into his work and that has now become his sole focus in life. Max works incredibly long hours, travels a lot, but the time he looks forward to the most is his time with Eve. Not a second is wasted.

“No you didn’t…Because when I compare what you gave to Kristin to what you gave to Eve, Eve got the short end of that stick…And I mean very short, barely even a twig.”

Eve is a personal stylist to the stars, her work keeps her insanely busy and while she treasures her time with Max, it is getting to that point where Eve is finally ready for more. With her best friend getting married, scenarios are running rife throughout her mind and while she knows that she is ready, she knows that Max isn’t. Max, his hang-ups and his job are her biggest hurdle, but can she turn Max around?

“This is why we work so well together, Eve, because neither of us would ever want something like that.”

Damn, this book damn near killed me. I mean, I know that Marni Mann writes well, but she killed me with this one. The angst was perfection, not over the top, but when it comes, it decimates you. No angst for angst sake, this book just flowed effortlessly, and each scene meticulously planned to give the reader the perfect reading experience. I could wax lyrical about this story for a long time, but I’m keeping my lips sealed, because you need to read this book as the author intended. There was one thing I never saw coming and Marni Mann certainly knocked me on my ass with that one, I’m normally good with my predictions, but that one was a fine doozy, expertly executed.

“There was so much need in her voice.
So much sadness in each sob.
One word would take it all away.
But I couldn’t fucking say it.”

Contracted is the third book in this series but can be read as a standalone, however common characters are prevalent throughout the three. Both Signed and Endorsed were fantastic reads too, so if you want to delve into the world of management with sports, music and acting stars then this is definitely the series for you. I work in this area, so this has been like coming home for me, think of it as an insanely hot, Jerry Maguire’esque series. I cannot wait to see what comes next from this author and with a few new characters introduced in this book I am definitely itching for more. For me, this was an amazing read and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Contracted
By Marni Mann
5 LA to Miami Stars!!!

I have enjoyed all the books so far on the Men of “The Agency” but Max’s story in Contracted is by far my most favorite! Written flawlessly and flowed perfectly, I was unable to put this book down once I started.

Max is a workaholic always on the go, meetings, dinners, concerts, you name it. But that is what has made him who he is. Willing to work 16 plus hours a day, 7 days a week has granted him the lifestyle that he has worked so hard to get.

Eve is just like Max, being a stylist to so many LA customers, she has built the business from ground up and is constantly on the run from client to client. Her business is the world to Eve.

Two years into a relationship together, with Max based out of Miami and Eve in LA, how much longer can these two continue to meet up on the whim. Count on a free 20 minutes to catch a quickie together? Its hard for anyone to do a long distant relationship. Now toss in two job obsessed individuals. Set up for a disaster or set up for the long run?

This book had all the feels!!! Not to mention a great present from Eve to Max in the first part of the book –insert warning to wear sham-wow panties during this part—had me squirming in my chair!!! Absolutely loved how headstrong both Eve and Max were. Eve didn’t back down from her ‘More’ plea and Max stood behind her in what she chose.

Great Job Marni!!! This book was awesome!!!

I have just finished reading Contracted by Marni Mann and I am such a happy reader right now! Contracted has every element that you could possibly want in a sexy romance novel and then it triples it. There is a lot of sex, so you need to have your fan set to high when you settle down to read this scorcher. Some of the sex is pure raunch and some of it is so much more.

The passion and connection are undeniable between Max and Eve but Max has been hurt before and now life has to fit around the career that has become his main focus. Unfortunately, that includes the time he spares for Eve. That he cares for her is obvious from the start, but can he reasonably expect the talented, beautiful, intelligent and sexy Eve to hang around for him to spare her a little time? Should she put her future prospects on hold to be at his beck and call?

I warn you, this book is a rollercoaster ride and you will feel a wide range of emotions but if you are anything like me you will wish that this book could go on and on because it is so good that you won’t want it to end.

I was gifted a copy of Contracted by Marni Mann and Social Butterfly PR This has in no way influenced my opinion or any part of this review.

“It was her. It was always her.”

Contracted is the third book following the owners of The Agency. I was so, oh so excited to read Eve and Max 's story after reading Signed. I was certainly not disappointed. Even if Signed remains my favourite in the series, Contracted is close second.
Without spoiling anything, a totally unexpected scene at the beginning took me by surprise (not particularly in a good way). Still, I carried on reading and I have to admit that this story was addictive. It is angsty, hot and entertaining. You will not want to put it down.

description

Max Graham is a successful music agent. He is focused, determined and oh so hot He is also a workaholic. He's had his heart broken by his high-school sweetheart, so he devoted himself to his work. He's not interested in, or looking for any sort of serious relationship. Even when the beautiful Eve Kennedy comes into the picture.

“It’s his way. Always. And there are no exceptions.”

Eve Kennedy is a stylist to the stars. She is professional, driven, ambitious and independent. She and Max have been in a friends-with-benefits kind of relationship for two years. No feelings whatsoever. Just sex and good times. That is until her best friend, James is getting married and she realizes that she might want MORE from Max.

description

Max and Eve are an adventurous, fascinating couple. Their attraction is sexy, instant and undeniable. The chemistry they share is sizzling both in and out of the bedroom. They are both complex characters and even if Max can be so, oh so fucking frustrating, you want them to end up together.

“I want you to fight for me. I want you to hold me in your arms and tell me that leaving will be the biggest mistake of my life.”

Overall, Contracted is a captivating, emotional, sensual romance. I am so excited for Scarlett 's story.
I recommend this book.

More like a 3.5 ⭐️ because I wanted more with the so called epilogue.
Max and Eve had hit it off from the very beginning. They’ve been together for two years but it’s been touch and go. Seems like Eve was the one giving more and Max was taking. Happy with the direction this was going.

Contracted by Marni Mann was a sexy, hot entertaining erotic romance with angst thrown into the mix. Mann entices readers to be drawn to her main characters as they are engaged in a sexual relationship that works but what happens when a no strings attached romance leads to one of them developing feelings. So can two sexually perfectly compatible couple make it work? Or will one discover to walk away before one hearts gets broken? So if you are looking for a romance that is full of heat, sex, angst and eroticism then this book is for you.

Contracted isn’t technically part of a series but rather one of four interconnected books, and I devoured the first two, Signed and Endorsed. While they are both ultra-sexy reads, Marni Mann has dialed up the heat in Contracted, and I wouldn’t have been surprised if my Kindle had started smoking while I was reading it.

For the last two years, Eve and Max have been content with their fun, adventurous strictly sexual relationship, but Eve begins to wonder if she wants more. Although it is obvious that they care for each other, she isn’t sure the love-shy Max is ready for the commitment or demands of a forever kind of relationship, especially because they live on opposite coasts and both have demanding careers that require extensive traveling. When Max’s ex-fiancée comes back into his life, it forces them both to ask themselves whether they are satisfied with their relationship’s status quo.

Max and Eve are dynamic and compelling characters with out-of-this-world chemistry, both in and out of the bedroom, and they are a fascinating, well-matched couple. Their love story is layered, emotional, tender and deeply sensual. Contracted is an exceptional erotic romance with a lot of heart.

I am slightly disappointed with this book. I went into this one expecting a fair share of angst (yes I’m the sort of a girl who thrive on that) but the amount I got wasn’t close enough to what I expected. Don’t get confused, they did give us a considerable amount of angst and I was kinda happy there wasn’t any major cheating involved still. I felt as if Eve just took Max back too quickly. All forgiven after he didn’t even try previously. I’m kinda glad in a manner when he kept giving the wrong answers she had the balls to walk off and live for herself.

Another part I wasn’t sure with was the opening few scenes and the ones who have read it know what I’m talking about. The part I wasn’t comfortable with was that the other girl was her freaking make up artist. They would keep seeing each other and I really don’t know how it won’t make it uncomfortable. Other than that few events the book carried the same amount of sexy, sizzling moments as the previous novels and if you’re looking for a good smutty read, this book is more than perfect. I love how everyone in The Agency is slowly getting their HEAs too.

Contracted was pure fire! It was really everything I love in a romance all rolled into one. Tons of heat, great banter, some emotion, and delicious angst.

Max and Eve have been dating for two years, the love to have fun in the bedroom but their careers come first. After Eve realizes that she does want more with Max, she has to make tough decisions to get their relationship where she wants it to be.

I adored this book. Marni Mann's series of standalones surround The Agency are some of my favorite reads on the lighter side, and Contracted is no exception. The book is fast-paced, but with some great twists and turns that keeps you moving and tapping the next page.

Good Lord!!! I can't contain myself - Contracted is another Marni Mann win! She legit just killed it and put everyone on notice and Slayed!!! What else can I say about one of the best authors I have ever read that I haven't said before? This book was SO emotional, intense and outstanding! Eve and Max had me consumed from the very first page. I was addicted to every word and seriously could not put this book down. This story and this series is just so goddamn great and a complete gamechanger. I never wanted it to end!

Contracted continues the storyline of The Agency and tells the story of Max and Eve but in a way we werent expecting. We get to see into the hearts of our main characters and see their fears, vulnerabilities and deep feelings for one another. I mostly loved how this story provided the much needed insight into Eve and Max's pivotal introduction and everything that followed in a way that blew my mind!

Without giving away any spoilers, just know that this story DESTROYED me! I laughed and swooned but also outright sobbed. I was on a tumultuous rollercoaster ride that I never saw coming and yet I never wanted it to end. I cried, I mourned and my heart broke for these characters. This is most definitely the best story this author has ever written for the sole reason in that she makes you feel. I felt all their joy deep inside my bones and yet in true Marni Mann fashion - she makes you bleed as she pours her heart and soul into her words. Eve and Max's story had my heart in my throat, tears in my eyes and angst knotting my stomach. This is truly her best work yet.

This author truly does not pull her punches. The combination of her beautiful words and the strength of her characters truly demonstrates that she is on top of her game and is ready take all the names. I absolutely loved this story and the characters and look forward to EVERYTHING that comes next from this author as they are truly gifts!! 5 Glorious Stars!! ~Ratula

Oh Marni...You have done it AGAIN!
Contracted is set in the same world as Signed and Endorsed. While these could be read as standalone books, I highly recommend reading them in order. Characters from the previous books show up in Contracted.

This is Max & Eve's story. I LOVED getting the introduction to Max and Eve in Signed. Max is another owner at The Agency, his line is the music side of the company. Like the other guys, he's all about work, loves what he does, and is great at his job. He meets Eve at James' place with Brett. Eve is James' best friend and a fabulous stylist for celebrities.
As the book starts, Max and Eve have been "dating" for about two years. Let me pause and also note that once again, Marni kicks off this book with a scene so hot, my eyes were spinning and my heart was racing. THIS is how you start a story!!! Max is based in Miami and Eve is based in LA - they do the long-distance, see-you-when-I can thing without a hitch. Until...Eve wants more.

I don't want to give a lot of the story away. I'll say that I stayed up till 330 am reading because I couldn't stop! The story is excellent - it's so much more than guy meets girl, guy loses girl, rainbows and butterflies because guy gets girl back. There's so much more to the story and the characters. The story and characters' reactions are very realistic.
Contracted is told in dual POV - and I've said it before, but Marni's male POV is the absolute TOPS! Her dudes talk like dudes, and they act like dudes.

The best surprise of this book was that is packs so much emotion in it but doesn't drown in over-emotional back and forth. There were parts where it got so dusty in my room, I had to wipe my eyes. If you've read Marni's books before, you know that you're going to get some hotness. Contracted does not disappoint. Hot and steamy don't even come close to describing these scenes.

LOVE LOVE LOVED reading Contracted. Another hit for Marni!

Well, this was a pleasant surprise. It was rec’d on FB, which recently has been the kiss of death, but not this time.

So, it starts with a lot of sex, and I was thinking if I started to skim the sex scenes there wouldn’t be much of a story- so much so, I did a word count on the words he used repeatedly during sex. Then the story kicked in and it completely worked for me.

They’re in a relationship that’s more than friends with benefits, but less than a full blown relationship, that is at least on his part. She’s in a relationship that has her willing to travel to see him as often as possible, and him not doing the same.

And, she realizes this isn’t going to change and he’s not willing to work to fix it. He’s quite happy with the status quo, that is until she takes a job in Milan and isn’t willing to see or talk to him. Now, he’s lost and a lack of communication is keeping them further apart.

When he finally gets his act together, they find their HEA.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Years ago, I was burned by a woman. I forgave, but I haven't forgotten, and it's a road I'll never go down again. My career has become my life instead. I'm Max Graham, the biggest music agent in the business. Women love me, but I don't do love anymore. I've found another way to meet my needs. Eve Kennedy-stylist to the stars and total bombshell. By far, she's the most daring woman I've ever had in my bed with a sexual appetite as ferocious as mine. We might just have the hottest sex life in Miami and LA. We don't date anyone else-although, sometimes, we invite someone for a night. We travel the world, and I lavish her with gifts. But she knows my career comes first. And the best part? For the past two years, she's been happy with our arrangement. Or so I thought. I've survived heartbreak once before, but this one could be the end of me.

I knew from the moment I met Max in Signed that he would have quiet the story to tell. Max is a partner with The Agency and works in the music industry. He is the top agent in his field actually and is getting ready to have his client sign the highest paid country music star contract that has ever been. Max is hard working and dedicated to his job and has not time nor does he ever intend to fall in love again. He was burned once by the woman he was engaged to when she cheated on him and they broke off their engagement. He swore then he would never fall in love or do a relationship again. When he meets Eve Kennedy, stylist to James's Ryne the top actress in Hollywood and the fiancé of his best friend, they have such amazing chemistry that you will feel it melting off your kindle. For the last two years they have worked around their schedules and made time for each other. They don't date but she does attend events with Max in Miami and he comes to LA where Eve is busy as a stylist for the stars. They both are career oriented and their arrangement works just fine for them. However after a conversation with James the word "More" will not get out of Eve's head. She wants more. She wants the wedding and the babies and Max is not someone who is willing to give that to anyone. Don't the past two years mean anything to him? You have to read to find out. I don't want to ruin this for anyone. If you have not read this any books in this series, I would suggest that you go to the beginning and start there, though each book can be read as a standalone. However all the characters that make up the books in this series have all the characters in them and Contracted would be the third such book. I loved these characters so much. I was actually sad to finish this book. Max and Eve are one of the hottest couples that I have read about in a good long while. There is no way that you won't fall in love with them too. Do not miss this book or your missing one of the best books that I have read this year.

I’ve wanted Eve and Max’s story since I met them! I’ve been intrigued and I just knew there was a story there! It was so much better then I thought it was going to be! It was everything and then some! And then about ten times better then that!!

Ok so we already know a little about Eve. I know I love her and that’s she’s Jame’s best friend and that she’s basically amazing! But I also know now how sweet she is, how bad ass she is, how she doesn’t take crap but would give you he shirt off your back if needed.... actually she’s just dress you herself and give it to you to keep because hats how she is! And she has the biggest heart and it’s made of gold!!

Max, again we’ve met him through our guys Brett and Jack. I know I love him, even if I think he needs a kick in the butt in this book a bit. But he’s also kind, caring, loves to give to those he loves, he’s determined, but sometimes he needs to open those eyes of his a little bit! But he learns and I love him for it! And I love him for Eve!

These two have quite the adventure and with James and Brett, Jack and Samantha, and Scarlett by their sides there is so much love to go around! I adore these characters and I adore these books! Ms. Mann has outdone herself and I will never ever get tired of reading anything this woman writes!

Contracted by Marni Mann is the next story in the owners of The Agency. Max is the music sgent. He loves his carefree lifestyle. He loves his friend, the co owners of The Agency. When he meets Eve
he feels his life is complete. Eve's life is just as hectic. She is stylist to the rich and famous. Her best friend James, a famous actress is her biggest client. When Eve and Max can get together their sex life is combustible. Some hot sex that may even include another woman. All is great till Eve wants more. That fact had Max all messed up because he likes the things the way they are. After throwing enough hints about wanting more Eve has no choice but to move on to other things. This action causes Max to have a reaction. I have liked each one of the previous books and each one gets better. This by far was the sexiest of the books. It had me hot and horny. I also loved their journey to finding each other. Held my attention from beginning to end . 4.5 star story. If you haven’t read Brett and Jack's story do so. Curious at to what Scarlett's story will be. Sure it will be just as sexy as the 3 previous books. Great sex and a Great story.

Contracted by Marni Mann is the third book in this series and I loved it. This is Max and Eve's story and OMG...it was definitely my favorite.
This novel was hot and steamy, it was emotional and swoony. The characters were perfect together. Max and Eve were made for each other. This M/F story did not skimp on the steam and had a M/F/F scene in one of the chapters. These characters were complex and the author did an amazing job of showing the character development through out the story and we got the dual POV giving us their thoughts throughout the novel.
I loved that we get the other characters from the previous novels in this book. They added balance and lent support to the main character which was greatly needed.
The story line was a bit emotional at times and it will tug at your heartstrings however the HEA ending was downright perfect. This page-turner will have you glued to your seat wanting more. It was a phenomenal read, definitely worthy of more that 5 stars and I would highly recommend it.

Derek Block introduced me to Marni Mann and I was hooked.
Contracted is effing hot.
It's emotional, I did get a bit teary eyed a time or two, but mostly it's just plain hot. You get cuddling to flat our hard core and everything in between, but I expected nothing less. Of all the things I loved about this book, the best part for me was Eve's realizing she was worth more than what she was getting, being strong enough to walk away when the time came.
Seeing her woman up an go after exactly what she wanted and accepting nothing less was the highlight, I love a strong heroine and she made me proud!
Contracted is a must read for any fan, an if you aren't it's a great book to start with.

Have you ever read a book that made you want to go back and lower all your starred ratings because everything just dims in comparison to what you just read? Contracted had me feeling that way...and I was only 3 chapters in at that point.

So. Many. Emotions.

Thoughts while reading:
Damn I need a cold shower. Ugh my heart. Someone hold me. Should have packed an extra pair of panties. I'm gonna slap you for being so stupid. I'm not crying, you're crying.
