When Ren took on her role as leader of all shifter kind, she brought peace after years of chaos. Now she's determined to bring her people the most epic Christmas celebration they've ever had. And if her mates and friends keep checking in to make sure she's okay, she'll just have to keep reminding them she's only pregnant, not an invalid.

Ren's mates intend to make this Christmas spectacular for their dragon shifter too, especially since they suspect there's more behind her frantic party planning than an avid holiday spirit. Will the surprises they have in store help her find her own peace before they welcome their newborn daughter?

Dragon's Joy is a sweet-and-sexy novella meant to warm the heart this holiday season. Catch up with Ren, her alpha mates, and all their friends to discover where their lives are taking them next!

This was in line with the rest of the series. Still not a fan of Serenity/Ren. Marco's Princess of Flames is still as annoying as ever. As sweet as it seemed at first, it got old fast.

I adored (and separately reviewed) each of the books in Eva Chase’s frankly wonderful Dragon Shifter's Mates series. Now in Dragon’s Joy: The Dragon Shifter’s Mates Christmas Novella, the author has provided a special holiday treat. For someone like me who adores a fun Christmas story and is addicted to stories with dragons in them this is pure ambrosia. When you add in the four super hot mates of Ren, now the dragon Queen well, let’s just leave it that things simply could not get better. This is both the perfect epilogue to a fantastic series and a wonderfully fun sweet-and-sexy holiday tale all by itself. Where the prior four books were full of great action and adventure as Ren and her guys battle to save the shifter clans, this epilogue is full of love and just a total pleasure as well as giving a great in depth look of the four different shifter clans. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series. I was actually gonna wait with this Christmas story until at least next week, but I finished the series last week and I kinda missed the characters AND I had an hour of reading time to spare. So, even though in the Netherlands the Christmas season hasn't really started yet, I decided to read the Christmas novella already.

In every possible way this book was festive and jolly. For once there weren't any threats, there were no real challenges our characters had to overcome. There was a little stress surrounding the celebrations, but it's the kind of stress one never stops having. Is it good enough? Is it festive enough? Will people like it?

However, that doesn't mean the story is boring. On the contrary! I quite liked spending some more time in the different mansions. Some time has passed and it's nice to see what changed and how the people are now looking at Ren. It's also lovely to see how different all the celebrations are, fitting the people who are actually celebrating.

I also really enjoyed the presents from the guys for Ren. Firstly because I think that all the presents really fitted the guys gifting them, but also because they were not material, but sentimental and really showed how well the guys know Ren and what's truly important to her. It said everything I wanted to know about their relationship right now.

And that ending was just too cute!

Now Ren is in charge of all shifter races there is finally peace after many years of chaos and violence. She decides to give all the people she is responsible for an epic Christmas although it is not easy when her mates and friends keep asking her if she is ok - she's pregnant not an invalid and it's getting a bit tiring. Her mates are also planning to give her a great Christmas so she might well find that she will have a few surprises on the way. Will all this planning and parties giver here a sense of peace before their daughter arrives?

This was a charming novella which both gave us an update on Ren and her mates but also gave us a real sense of the Christmas spirit. I loved the detail in some of the areas and the hints of some things that could potentially happen to some of the other characters in the future. It was clearly written and easy to understand. It definitely made me feel both Christmassy and happy to know what happened next at the end of the series.

dragons joy was a beautiful way to finish off the dressing shifters mates series. it was less then 100 pages and wasn’t too much or too little. the chapters were broken up very well with just enough going on. this novella follows the end of Ren’s pregnancy during christmas time and the celebrations she’s putting together for the different kin groups of her mates while she’s also struggling with her feelings on becoming a new mom conflicting with her feelings on everything that transpired over the past 18 months (finding out her mom died and that’s why she never went back to new york, finding out she’s a dragon and has 4 mates, that her whole family was murdered when she was young and facing those murders with her mates and fighting vampires, dealing with war with the different species) and worrying about the future of her daughter and family. in the end it everything came together beautifully and the story ended on a lovely note 💗 very excited to read more from eva chase ☺️

I received an advance copy from the author.

This was a cute little fluffy novella set about eight months after the last book ended. I found it nice to see where the characters were now and how life had progressed for them after their adventure ended. I also liked how it wasn’t too Christmassy despite it being a Christmas themed novella. I’ve often found that books or novellas with a holiday theme are really overpowering in the inclusion of the holiday, but this wasn’t like that. It was definitely there and a main part of the story but it wasn’t screaming and demanding we acknowledge its presence. Overall, Dragon’s Joy was a nice, quick addition to the series, so if you loved the series and want just a little bit more, I can tell you that it doesn’t disappoint.

Review contains spoilers

It doesn't have any drama, we just get to see a little bit of their world some time later after everything happened.

We get to see how Ren's pregnancy is going and how her mates and herself are handling it. Also, I think it is super cute and thoughtful of her to have a Christmas party for each of the kins, and that she was so worried about making it special for everyone. And people really appreciate and have returned all the respect and compassion she has shown them.

That's not even the best part, we get to know their baby! What a great way to end the series.

This is nice short little Christmas novella to help us catch up with what happened with Ren, Marco, Mate, Aaron and West after the events of the fourth book.
Ren had just announced that she was pregnant in the final pages of the last book. Now she is eight and a half months pregnant and has organized a celebration at each of the main four shifter estates.
Each of her mates has arranged a special surprise for her at each of their parties. They all get a Christmas surprise when their little girl enters the world.
I loved this heartwarming addition.

This was a cute short story follow up to the series. It shows Ren and her 4 mates traveling to the different compounds to celebrate Christmas with each group and how each group is different in their own ways. I liked the thought put in to show the different types of Christmas celebrations. Also Ren gives birth to her daughter.

It was fun to see them all together again. Though my fave out of the four is still West.

I started this right after finishing the main series but since this was on Kindle it took me longer to finish it.

Lovely Christmas celebrations at all the four alpha's estates, finishing up with the birth of Ren's daughter. Our Ren did her best to please all the four shifters' community, and she got surprise gestures or gifts from all her four mates.

Now that it's officially over, my characters' personalities comparison from the Royals of Villain Academy and this Dragon Shifter's Mates series is finalised as follows:

West = Malcolm (Sceptical)
Aaron - Declan (Erudite)
Nate = Connar (Protector)
Marco = Jude (Overconfident)

So, we have Book5 of the Dragon Shifter's Mates series. And Dragon's Joy is just that. Ren and her men have gone through so much together and now it's time to celebrate - their love, their lives, the unity of their kin, the soon to be birth of their child. What better time than Christmas. Yep. It's a quick Christmas story and the perfect sweet conclusion and look into their future and HEA.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A great short story of Ren and the guys. Ren is 8-9 months pregnant and wants to host Christmas parties for each of the shifter kins. She has wonderful surprises planned for each of her guys and each of them also have something for her. It was a heartwarming Christmas story with some romance and steam mixed in.
I always love to go back to characters that I fell in love with. Ren and her men are no exception.

You know when

A tv show or movie franchise you like puts on a holiday special that isn't as good as everything else with the series/franchise, and doesn't really g
fit in, and doesn't have the same drama and plot, like when everyone just gathers for a christmas celebration and there is drama that really isn't drama? That is this. It should be $.99, not $3.99, and even then I'd probably suggest skipping it.

This was the Novella I didn't know that I needed.

Christmas is my favorite time of year.
So, reading about Ren running around to make sure that each of the shifters got an amazing celebration was magical. Christmas in July for me.
Each of the Alpha's were trying to help as much as possible. Trying to keep her off her feet because she is super close to giving birth to their first daughter.

It was magical and I loved their first Christmas together.
A perfect touch to a cute storyline!

Dragon's Joy by Eva Chase is a reverse harem paranormal romance novella. This is the fifth and final book in The Dragon Shifter's Mates Series.

I really enjoyed getting another glimpse into Ren and her mate's life's nine months down the road. I will definitely miss these characters, but Eva did a great job wrapping up their story with this novella.

I would recommend this series if you're looking for a paranormal romance, shifter romance, or a why choose romance.

I read the beta of this book and I loved this novella. It is perfect for a holiday release and we get
to catch up with Ren and her guys with no fighting in sight. Ren will visit all her peoples and enjoy Christmas celebrations that fit each one. If you have read the series you will love this one, and if you haven't, you should and this will make you want to!

I'm a sucker for cute, christmas stories, ok? Especially ones that work as a long epilogue of some sort. I loved this little piece, I loved that we got to see this little glimpse of heaven and peace for Ren and her mates and her tiny bundle of Joy. A good way to end any story if you ask me.

I enjoyed it a lot.

This is such a sweet little novella. It's like a big extended epilogue which gives you everything you want from a hea! No drama, a visit to all of the kin groups to see how they have settled after the war. Lots of parties and a baby.

Also, an actually realistic depiction of labour! Which I definitely appreciated! All in all, lovely quick read.

Merry Christmas

Dragon's Joy is a delightful story bringing a truly happy ending for the season as Serenity sets out holiday festivities for each of her mates' strongholds. It is sweet and innocent and I do recommend it if you have read the rest of the series.

You always want to know the happy ending. This was that five books in a series is long enough. It gets too !ugh with more. This was written well and showed how far she had gone in 18 months.

A Vert Shifter Christmas

This book is more or less a Winter themed epilogue of the four book series. I was glad to have all the little loose ends metaphorically wrapped up in a bow.

I couldn't remember that much from the original books but this was quite choppy and patched together with rushed scenes and attempted drama.

Only rated it so high as I liked seeing the old characters and the family dynamic they have.

The whole series was...

The whole series was amazing! I honestly couldn’t put them down, the second I was done with one book I moved on to the other. Ren is one lucky woman! The only thing I can say is I wish there was a book about Felix and his almost mate/Ren’s best friend!

This series was truly just a fun read. A focused romance that let you enthralled, but a plot line riddled with action and twists as well. Not to mention some wonderful spicy to keep you enticed! One of my favorite shifter series to date!
I will absolutely be buying more of Eva’s work!
