Once upon a time, a princess and her stepmother ruled together with all happiness and joy…until the Queen’s chronic headaches and mood swings escalate to violence, and Princess Snow White is forced to flee for her life.

Snow White is certain that a dark magic has pushed her once loving stepmother into madness. Shy and bookish as she may be, she will do whatever is necessary to save the Queen, even if it means approaching the infamous Seven Warriors—a group of outspoken fighters who live in the forest—to ask for their help. Unfortunately, six of the men are not convinced the Queen can be redeemed.

But Fritz, the seventh warrior, is different.

Hailed as both a deadly fighter and a humble forester, Fritz senses there is more to the Princess than there appears to be. When magical horrors attack, his mind is made up, and the Seven Warriors pledge their loyalty to Snow White.

With the warriors helping her, Snow White is certain her stepmother can be saved. But just when victory seems near, a poisoned apple changes everything...

My pen name is K. M. Shea, but my readers—I prefer to call them Champions—call me Kitty.

I love to write funny, clean stories with strong characters. Books like that are among my favorite to read so naturally I love writing stories like that as well. My philosophy is that life is tough, so books should be something that makes you relax and laugh!

A different kind of strong female

A princess with intense social anxiety, a loving stepmother transformed by evil, seven warriors who seem to fight each other as much as battle evil, and a feisty magic user. This was so much fun.

Re-read : At a less frenzied pace, I can say definitively I love the way this story unfolds. As mother to a socially anxious child, I love the support Snow White is given and the way she grows. We all face battles within ourselves, but we can meet them with courage. That courage is often found in love.

This is a really good take on Snow White! I loved the main character's social anxiety because it was so REAL and she wasn't magically cured of it in the end. Yes, she learned how to adapt and work around it, but she still had to struggle against it.

I also really loved the Seven Warriors. KM Shea does a great job of giving them each an unique personality so I could easily keep all seven of them straight in my mind.

And Fritz. *swoony sigh* He's just so adorable.

Oh my god, this was amazing! I'm completely mind blown....again! How do you do it?
On another note, I'm so glad to be able to see Angelique's true personality! There were literally times where I laughed out loud at her antics, and those of the Seven Warriors! It's been so fun reading it and I absolutely cannot wait for Angelique's series!

Snow White is the final installment of K.M. Shea’s wonderful Timeless Fairy Tales series and it was quite the conclusion. Like all her retellings of classic fairy tales, K.M. Shea spun this story in such a creative and delightful way.

I loved Snow White and Fritz. It was so refreshing to read about a quiet hero and heroine. Fritz was a man of few words but was always so thoughtful, both when he spoke and also in his actions. He was so sweet and loyal to Snow White; it was adorable. I really liked him and thought he and Snow White were very cute together; I wish we could have seen more of them together as they fell in love.

Snow White’s flaw of shyness and social anxiety was wonderful to read about. I have a mild form of social anxiety and I can't think of another book I've read where the heroine was battling something similar, although on a much grander scale. I loved watching Snow White strive to overcome her weakness in order to help her beloved stepmother. Her intelligence and love were great strengths, and I loved watching her growth as she faced her shyness and, while she didn't make it go away, she was able to still do the tasks she needed to and rely on her strengths in order to be a good leader. I also enjoyed her loving relationship with her stepmother, Faina, and loved the twist of she and her stepdaughter being really close. It was so refreshing and lovely.

This book also features a lot of action as the series overall story arc finally builds and comes to an almost conclusion (to be continued in the next series), as well as additional insights into Angel’s character. I can’t wait to see how her story unfolds in her upcoming series.

It’s so sad to see Timeless Fairy Tales series end; I wish it could go on forever. I’m looking forward to reading more books from K.M. Shea, as well as re-reading some of my favorites in this Timeless Fairy Tales series.

Disappointing but still worth the read

I have read (and re-read)!all of the books in this series Sadly this book didn’t live up to all of the others in the series in my opinion for 3 reasons.
First, the author seemed uncomfortable with the character of Snow White. Typically she does a good job if showing a character’s traits but in this story she kept repeating over and over how smart Snow White was and how shy. It was very tedious.
Two, the seven warrior characters were over the top. There was two much high school boy jokes that just extent that funny. I found myself wanting the warriors to be done in my the magical constructs especially Aldebert.
Three, Angel’s character seemed out of place to me from what we have been previously told about her. She was too defiant and scruffy.
The plot was a great re-working of the original and I loved the Queen. Mostly, I think the book needed more editing.

K.M Shea has yet to disappoint me. Her faerie tale retellings have been my favorite since book 1, and that has not changed. Snow White was everything I hoped it would be and so much more!

I’ve always loved how Kitty manages to write strong female characters. I’ve always loved that she manages to keep original aspects of the tales without overshadowing her own creativity. And, I’ve always loved the humor and positive messages she writes in to her tales. Snow White was no different in regard to these aspects, and yet, it still felt so refreshing and unique!

Kitty’s version of Snow White was beautiful and powerful. I loved the twists she added to the original tale to be able to write in her powerful females and positive message on the importance of family and love. I loved the humor found within and all the banter between the “Seven Dwarves (warriors).” And, I loved that the story focused on Snow White fighting for her step-mother and learning how to be a true queen rather than focusing on her prince charming.

I could not stop laughing while reading this one. The Seven Warriors (Kitty’s Seven Dwarves) were so incredibly funny. They reminded me of the Three Stooges, and I loved that they kind of had aspects of some of the dwarves from the Disney movie. These guys stole my heart and added a layer of happiness to the tale.

What I really loved about the story was Snow White, though. She was so incredibly flawed and human, and I loved that. She was strong and fierce, and loved with all her heart, but she was also shy and anxious, and deeply introverted, and this sometimes affected her ability to speak publicly, or to a group of people. This in no way made her weak, but I loved how she learned from this and grew to overcome it. It made her relatable and unique.

Snow White was a beautiful faerie tale. It had magic, fun, and important moral lessons. It had beauty, passion, and hilarious comedy. It was a feel good tale that held nostalgia for both the original story and the Disney version, while holding it’s own as a uniquely refreshing retelling.

Shea is one of my favorite authors for fairy tales. This had enough different elements to be enjoyable. I loved that Snow White wasn't your typical perfect princess being hounded by the big baddie. There is a villain out to get her, but life wasn't perfect before the challenges of good vs evil get started. Here's what I liked (I'll try not to post spoilers!)
1. Snow White had a loving relationship with her stepmother. Queen Faina loved Snow White's father and saw Snow White as her own.
2. Snow White struggled with extreme shyness and anxiety. Over the course of the story, she has to find her own strength to overcome these things, but it doesn't happen overnight. I LOVED that she gets frustrated when she can't speak to the Lords after speaking easily with the Seven Warriors.
3. The Seven Warriors were awesome! The idea that a group of young nobility join up to fight the monsters in their land because the Queen didn't is great. Their interactions are also quite funny.
4. Angel adds another dimension to the story altogether, and I have questions!

All in all, it was a quick and entertaining read.
I give Snow White by K.M. Shea a solid 4 (only because I found myself skimming at times).

1-5 scale and what it means:
1: I couldn’t even finish it / just plain bad
2: I hope I didn’t pay for this / disappointing
3: I didn’t hate it, but it was still missing something / forgettable but inoffensive
3.5: On the line between good and ok / like, not love
4: Solid mind candy / worth reading
4.5: So very close to perfection! / must read
5: I could not put it down and I’m still thinking about it! / a true treasure

The Seven Warriors (seven dwarves)

Well, I don’t have a happy or a bashful. So there are two dwarves that weren’t fully represented. But I did love the seven warriors. They were funny and great minor characters to our three main. Having a heroine who struggles with public or well speaking to anyone who is a stranger is a great touch. Not only does Snow have to battle magical creatures she has to learn to trust herself and slowly get better at speaking. I am very thankful that Shea wrote her to slowly overcome her anxiety and that Fritz has to tell Snow that she can't expect herself to be the best at it when she only has started to have control over it. I loved that.

While this is action-packed and we do get some of the answers that we have been hoping for, not all of them are in this book series. The ending was so good and then it says the rest of what happens is in The Fairy Tale Enchantress.

Well, I guess the good news is I don’t have to question myself on what to read next. I will be hopping on over because I need to know what will happen to the Chosen. What will happen now with Angelique?

I need those answers. On to a new series.

This one really hit the feels for me. Laughed out loud twice and sat at the edge of my seat at the end. Most of the time, I stay completely relaxed at the end of fairytale retellings because they are retellings. They are gonna end similarly to the original fairytale. But this book reaches beyond the fairytale into the series’ over-arching plot... so while I knew we’d get a win for Snow White, I wasn’t entirely sure if we were gonna get a win or a setback for the continent and Angelique.

Angel’s personality was a little jarring for me. We could see the gloves coming off in the last few books, but wow! Never predicted the person underneath all that elegance and calm.

Snow’s character arc was quiet but genuine. Her huntsman was a little too perfect, but it worked because there was so much going on everywhere else. It made for a nice change of pace when those two had their little moments together.

All in all, a lovely addition to the series. Personally would reread again, mostly for Angel and her quips.

Amazing!

This was a very different version of Snow White, starting with how Snow White and her step-mother love each other. But something strange is happening. The queen is being gripped by increasingly bad headaches and is starting to act not quite like herself.

Snow White was an interesting heroine. She was clever and strong but debilitatingly shy. She doesn’t choose her shyness, but physically cannot get the words out at times.

The seven dwarves were not dwarves, but warriors, and I was often laughing at their antics, and trying to assign them Disney’s seven dwarf labels to keep them straight. I loved Fritz and Snow White together. They had a quiet strength.

We also had an addition to the seven warriors, a wizard’s apprentice names Angel. She was sarcastic and it was fun to get to know her.

While this is technically the end of the Timeless Fairytales series, it will really conclude in Angelique’s series. Snow White can be read independently, but it does reference characters and schemes from a bigger story line.

If you are a fan of fairytales, you won’t want to miss this!

Not Completely Satisfying

I have enjoyed all the books in this series, some more than others. I particularly enjoyed the 12 Dancing Princesses and—knowing that Quinn left with Angelique to look for Evariste in Mullberg and that Snow White would take place in Mullberg—I was eagerly awaiting the promised conclusion where all the stories would come together. I was therefore disappointed to realize that as long as you had read the Snow Queen books, you could have skipped all the other books in the fairy tale series and still know exactly what was going on as nothing but the mirror and the Chosen came together (and neither was resolved). I simply was not satisfied by this.

I debated for a while giving this book five stars because there are some things that I absolutely LOVE about it, but I ended up settling for four stars because although I did enjoy the overall book, I felt like it could have been a bit better. Maybe I'm just comparing it to the standalone books in the series, in which Angel made appearances, but the stories focused very well on the individual books' main characters - even Twelve Dances Princesses and Sleeping Beauty, where Angel played much more prominent roles.

In Snow White, Angel is one of the main characters. I LOVED watching her relax and grow to actually trust and love Snow White, and it was SO funny to watch her lie through her teeth about her herb know-how and play the part of a less-magically-talented mage apprentice. She goes through such a range of emotions in this book, and you can tell it's all sincere, and it's beautiful watching her open her heart up to others! And that ending! UGH, I LOVE HER AND CAN'T WAIT FOR HER SERIES!

At the end of the day, though, this book is called Snow White. Angelique's series isn't here yet. This book is for Snow White, a painfully shy bookworm who can inflict some SERIOUS burns when she's got the mind to, and who does EVERYTHING out of love for her stepmother. Her story is pretty great, but I felt like it had the potential to be more. It wasn't all it could be because readers are, by this point, invested in Angel. (Maybe someone who hasn't read all ten other books in the series wouldn't notice, though?)

The cast of characters for this book is a bit overwhelmingly large, but Kitty handles it very well. It's typically pretty easy to know which character is which. And Snow White goes through a solid arc with her shyness - I was impressed that she didn't get miraculously cured of it by the end, but instead is still actively learning to press forward in spite of it. As someone who has had and continues to have struggles with speaking in groups of people (especially strangers, especially... any number of conditions), I empathized a lot with her struggle and got some pretty bad secondhand embarrassment at times, especially when people would talk about her shyness to each other LIKE SHE'S NOT EVEN THERE. I mean, HELLO, could you not at least have the decency to talk about it when she's not forced to listen!? xD;

Fritz... Fritz is cool. I appreciated some of the early scenes from his PoV when we get to see him work stuff out in his head, like, "Yeah, I think this because of this, and that makes that other thing make sense, and this is because of that..." And then all he ends up saying out loud is, "She's nice." XD

Faina - the queen regent of Mullberg and Snow White's stepmother. I really appreciate that Kitty seems to go out of her way to legitimize stepfamily relations in her stories. Of the four stepmothers I can think of off the top of my head from Kitty's stories, only one (the witch who married into the Arcanian royal family; I forget her name) is evil. Snow White and Faina's solid relationship is a big part of this book, one which I wholly enjoyed.

So... Those are my thoughts. Good book - I really loved it! I just feel like Snow White didn't have as much opportunity to shine as she could have, given that I was so invested in Angel from the moment of her appearance all the way through the end.

This story is sort of the last in the Timeless Fairy Tale series. However, the series overarching conflict that expands beyond the individual books will be wrapped up in another overlapping book series. I mention this so that those going into this series of tales- that can each to a great degree stand on their own- know that these won't leave you with everything resolved. They work best in accordance with other series like the Snow Queen series (which isn't a mandatory prequel but would be helpful) and The Fairy Tale Enchantress series which will wrap up many subplots that existed through the Timeless books.

I have enjoyed this series and it certainly was the case of the right books at the right time. I've been waylaid by an injury and these escapist books with strong heroines, themes of good versus evil, action/adventure and leaving out anything that is too heavy or would bring me down is exactly what I needed. It won't be for everyone and I might have gone light in ratings and in forgiving some things that will be bigger issues with other reasons but the positives outweigh the negatives so much that I still gave them 4 and 5 star reviews. Your mileage may vary.

This book was a retelling of snow white. One of the things I loved most is that there is a twist on the evil stepmother. Here, she isn't evil but has a deeply loving bond with Snow White. There is another force at work that is corrupting her. I also liked the risk taken in having the heroine have social anxiety. It means that we are in Snow White's head a lot since she has trouble expressing herself to groups or people she doesn't know well. Pairing her with a reticent hero and you have a lot more going on in character's heads than normal. I was mostly fine with it but it does slow things down a good bit. That won't work for everyone.

I also found that the characters fulfilling the parallel roles of the 7 dwarves can sometime come off as cartoonish. With a cast of side characters so large you really don't get to know them. I think they were meant to be comic relief. Again, readers mileage may vary since not everyone enjoys stock characters. Since it is a fairy tale retelling I am pretty forgiving on aspects like this that are par for the course in these types of stories.

All in all, this author has been a lot of fun and I'm glad I discovered her books. I can't wait for the next of the Enchantress books to be released in July.

Snow White is the eleventh and final installment of K.M. Shea's series, "Timeless Fairy Tales". I'd bestow the latest addition to the world of Shea's a 4.5/5.0 stars.

Each book is a retelling of classic, well-known (or not) fairytales, spun in Shea's style, and all centering on an overwhelming problem: evil corrupting the continent. We've battled curses, creatures, and now: crippling shyness. Snow White prefers books to board rooms, being solitary versus speeches, and overthinking to action.

Unlike most fairytales, Snow White and her stepmother have a solid, healthy, and loving relationship. I love this change. Not only for those readers who could identify with having a good relationship with a step-parent, but it's another emphasis on love. K.M. Shea has relationships in every novel. Yes, a romantic relationship (much to Angel's astonishment and dismay), but other dynamics like siblings, step-family, friends, pets, etc.

Snow White is shy, loves her family, and has the overwhelming throne approaching in a couple years. When her stepmother begins to act wicked, Snow knows it has to be a dark force. She flees for her life and meets the Seven Warriors -quirky fighters who don't necessarily belong in Her Majesty's troops, but fight like magnificent soldiers regardless. The Seven Warriors take in the shy princess and gruff herb wizard apprentice Snow had run into earlier. During her stay, Snow learns of the continent's condition, how to make actual friends, and takes the beginning steps to overcoming her social anxiety. Through her strengths of knowledge and loyalty, along with her new companions beside her, she may just succeed in outwitting and overpowering the darkness taking over her stepmother and kingdom.

But then there's this apple...

I love this latest installment of K.M. Shea's Timeless Fairy Tale Collection. Each of Shea's heroines are uniquely entertaining and Snow White is no exception. Bookish, shy and stuttering yet willing to stand her ground when she needs to. It's Snow White's quiet strength that makes her a force to be reckoned with.

The romance is also sweet, simple and just too cute! I liked how it was there but wasn't the driving force of the story. Not that I mind romance taking center stage. In this case though it allowed the story to focus more on Snow White's character growth and I think that made the story stronger.

Angel is also awesome. So there's that.

I'm really loving how this series is progressing. Every single one of the books in the series are absolutely amazing. And this book was no different. It was good to see more of Angelique and I'm so looking forward to her own story that is about to come out soon.

All I can say about this book is that it is perfect for fairy tale lovers . Like a must read. It has everything a fairytale lover desires for in a book. I loved the characters, the plot , all the strategic planning and basically everything about it. Just couldn't put it down once I started reading and ended up finishing it in one seating.

Best book of the series!

Snow White’s story was a great addition to an already wonder series. I personally thought this was one of the best books in the series! I laughed more out loud reading this book than the other books, and if you are familiar with other stories Angel is just a riot of fun!

I love the author’s humor, and the way she writes her stories. I appreciate the cleanliness of her books and the different paths each character takes to fall in love. Snow White’s tale will not disappoint you!

Exciting!

K m Shea is a fabulous writer that keeps me entertained from the beginning to the end! Snow White is a different kind of heroine, but I would not say she isn’t strong, just not in the ways other heroines seem to be. A very different hero. He is quiet and mysterious. All the seven warriors are unique and enjoyable with their different traits and personalities. My favorite part of the story is the mage Snow White runs around with age makes me all the more thrilled for this coming year and the story of Angelique!!!!

Snow White by K.M. Shea is the 11th book in the timeless Fairy Tales series. A retelling of Snow White with Snow White, a shy princess with difficulty speaking and social anxiety, being sent away when her beloved stepmother is pushed into madness by dark magic. Not a fan of retellings, I enjoyed this more than I thought I would and found it interesting and fun. I especially liked the seven warriers.

I couldn't put it down

This final book in the Timeless Fairy Tales series was Amazing. I especially loved seeing so much of Angelique's true nature come to light and all of the interactions between the seven warriors. The romance was nice, but the love and dedication Snow White had for her stepmother was especially satisfying. Now I eagerly and not so patiently waiting for Angelique's series. The preview chapter at the end of this book only whet my appetite for the story.

Loved it. Another great addition to this fairytale world. I absolutely loved Snow White and the reimagining of her story. It was funny, intense, sweet and had plenty of action. The addition of Angel in disguise was fabulous. It was a perfect way to weave her into this part of the story and make me even more excited for her book. The only bad part is having to wait for the books to release!! I’m happy I’ve read them all, but am feeling like I may have to reread while I await the next release date.
