When tattoo artist, Liam O’Rourke, meets a hot new ink model promoting a sexy calendar at an LA tattoo convention, sparks fly.

Liam admires Velvet like every red-blooded man in the convention center. The way she moves, her sexy pinup look and a body to die for; what man wouldn’t want that? She seems so strong and confident. But it’s the look in her eyes when she meets his that has him lightheaded. They hold a vulnerability that defy the sexy pose and call out to him. That look awakens a fierceness in him that has him wanting to protect her. She’s the beauty to his beast, and he can’t forget her.
After an incredible night together, she vanishes, leaving him with nothing but questions, only to reappear in the last place he expects to find her. She’s gorgeous and irresistible, but she’s also hiding something from him. Liam must decide if she’s worth the risk if he’s going to save her from her past or lose her forever.

Velvet comes from a family of con artists. She grew up learning all their scams. When she was fourteen, her mother forced her into traveling from town to town, with Velvet playing the leading lady in the longest running con her mother ever pulled.
She’s fought to put all that behind her, until she crosses paths with the one man who left an indelible mark on more than her skin. Velvet remembers Liam, but fortunately he doesn’t recognize her, because there’s something he doesn’t know and she can’t risk him ever finding out.

The O’Rourke brothers have been nothing but great this entire series and Liam was no exception. I really enjoyed his loyalty to his family and how fast he was to bring Velvet into his life and feel so strongly for her so quick. Velvet was just as amazing as Liam and I loved how strong she was. Even when she was at her lowest point she never gave up fighting and I really liked that about her. They had an amazing chemistry that made the fast pace totally believable and had me intrigued to find out what exactly would happen when the secrets between them were revealed.

Overall, this was a brilliant read and a great addition to this series. I'm already dying to get my hands on the next one and I can't wait to see what the next O’Rourke brother has in store for us.

Velvet is phenomenal!

Liam is an awesome book boyfriend, but I think Velvet stole the show. I really liked her character. I felt like I could relate to her, but I'm not sure why because I have no tattoos, nor was I raised by gypsies, and my family wasn't conning others. I am totally the opposite of Velvet and yet something about her resounded in me. That's why Nicole James is a wonderful writer, because she can bring her characters to life and we feel for them. I can't wait to read Rory's book!

There is something that draws me to this series, I don't know what it is, maybe covers maybe previous work by this author...well for whatever reason I am once again sucked in it....
Guess I came with less expectations then last time so I knew I shouldn't expect much...
There is something with this characters that just doesn't work for me.
It was very mechanical read. No emotions!
And I will probably read the last brothers book too. Oh who we are kidding yes I will do it no questions asked...

Boring. Skimmed most of it, but I hated the parts I read.

The heroine is mistreated by everyone in her life including the hero. He finds out something that happened early in her life and then shuns her and lets his brother yell at her. She tries to make amaends, but the brother is still a douche. Later on they find out the circumstances of her life and they all feel bad.

SHE TRIED TO EXPLAIN IT TO THEM THAT SHE WAS JUST A HELPLESS KID WHEN THE SITUATION OCCURRED BUT THEY DIDNT GIVE A DAMN UNTIL THEY READ ABOUT IT IN A DAMN MAGAZINE.

Of course the hero runs to find the heroine and she takes him back no problem.

Major frickin eye roll.

P.s. the writing is not that good.

Almost 4 stars.

It's definitely cheesy, needed a once over for editing, but the characters had enough backstory to make them work. I like this series, it's not bad at all, except the men who are "alpha" are a little too emotional for me.

I really wanted to enjoy this book. Plot was good, characters were interesting, but my low rating stems from the problem I have with Velvet being made into a massive, unnecessary, and dangerous stereotype.

The Roma (G*psy) people have spent hundreds of years being persecuted, shunned, and treated poorly because of stereotypes that are perpetuated in this book. The use of G*psy is a slur and is offensive to many Roma people. At the very least, it is an inaccurate term for an ethnic group that has many non-pejorative words to describe themselves, including Roma, which I will use for this review. G*psy may also be seen as a slur by Roma when used by non-Roma people. For more info, here's a blog post about it: Stop Saying G*psy

The stereotypes that Velvet and her family are built around are the same stereotypes that continue to drive prejudice, hatred, bigotry, and ignorance around Roma people in the real world. It is a complex issue that spans across Europe. The book doesn't touch on why these stereotypes exist or how the Roma feel about them- which isn't the purpose of a romance novel, I understand. But if you are using a culture, especially one that been exotified to such a degree, regardless of genre you owe it to your readers to do your research. A few quick Google searches would have turned up plenty of examples of why this portrayal of Velvet and her family is problematic.

I hope that in the future, ethnic groups and their stereotypes aren't used as plot points like this, to build tension within the story. This could have been told just as well and without leaning on stereotypes that have historically been used to isolate and punish the Roma people. Even better, having Velvet and her family be a part of the Roma culture, without feeding into stereotypes, would have made this a fantastic read. In my opinion, this was lazy research and writing. Ethnic groups are not comprised solely of stereotypes, and characters like Velvet deserve more. So do the people living within these ethnic groups.

I loved this story. I was looking forward to getting to know Liam and he was better than I could’ve imagined. I really love the relationship that developed between him and Velvet. My heart broke for Velvet’s history but was so impressed with her maturity and her openness with Liam. I love Nicole‘s writing style and now I can’t wait for Rory’s book.

Liam was worth the wait!

I am a big fan of Nicole James and her ever growing world of hot alpha males with a side that just about every females craves but only their soul mates can bring out,...there big, faithful, loving and supportive hearts.

The boys of Brothers Ink are no exception, and with the added benefit of being actual brothers, their stories so far have held up to what i think of Nicole James HEA....great background stories, enough angst to have you yelling at both the H and h to get their heads out of their arses and just when you're ready to give up...boom something beautiful will pop up and all is right again in my world!😍

This may sound predictable but it's so far from it...each story has it's own path and Liam's book was no different. In fact this book brought up a set of characters I've not come across yet and was intrigued to learn about the background of Velvets people, gypsies. I also love when an author brings up a subject that many people face but are much too embarressed to talk about, adult illiteracy, and Ms James handling of the subject had me happy she brought it up and diminished any shame it may bring. It's one of the reasons I really enjoy her books...she handles uncomfortable subjects in such a way that you feel much better after reading her books than prior.

Give Liam and the other Brothers a shot if you love a strong alpha who becomes whole with the love of a good woman.....ya know after they go through hell and back that is. 😉

When Liam first sees Velvet he knows hes never seen another woman like her. When he runs into her again in a bar he thinks he's hit the jackpot, but when Liam wakes up alone he knows his luck has run out.

When Velvet ends up in Grand Junction courtesy of her older brother she runs into Liam again and he convinces her to take a chance on them. She just has to keep him from finding out her biggest secret. Sooner than she can imagine Velvet is all alone again and she's in worse danger than ever.

"I don’t need you to save me—I just need you to stand beside me while I save myself."

Can Liam and Velvet have their Happily Ever After, or will her brother and his goons keep them apart forever? A definite 5-star read, I was so excited to get back to Grand Junction and Brothers Ink! Nicole Jameson crafts an amazing story with suspense, wonderfully steamy, fun, sexy times, beautiful tattoos, and a loving family that is always there for each other. I'm already itching to get to Rory's story!!

One Click Story!!

Absolutely loved this story, it dug out all the emotions from me. If you havent read books one and two by Nicole James then you are truly missing out.

Book Three is sexy Liam's, it's a beautiful story. Velvet female lead is beautiful, sexy, sweet but she has secrets. This is a second chance Romance in my eyes. Velvet is trying to make up for her past, walk away from her destructive family and live her dream. Liam never lets anyone in but he decides to take a chance on Velvet. The storyline has it all humor, suspense, a little angst and a heartbreaking back story. James produces some of hottest chemistry between this couple. My Kindle was burning up from the steam this couple had before they took their clothes off.

James has done it again and created a beautiful story!! She is one of my favorite authors to date. I always one click her books because I know she will not disappoint. I highly recommend this story, series or anything this author might publish.
Happy Reading!!!!

Beautiful Storytelling ❤❤❤

Liam and Velvet's story was everything that you read romance for. It was definitely worth the wait and so well written and beautiful in it's honesty. Nicole James gives us a masterpiece in emotions while delivering an INCREDIBLE LOVE story that you really need to read! Velvet's story was tragically beautiful in it's honesty and heartbreak so much so that you really want to get to the other side with her and see where the journey takes her. Liam was so emotionally unavailable until he meets Velvet and then everything changes for him. Can they overcome outside forces working against them? You really need to read this book and go on this journey with them as it's so beautifully written and painful in it's honesty at times . I would definitely recommend this book and say it's a MUST READ!!! I CAN'T WAIT to read Rory's book next I'm looking forward to his story😍😍😍

Liam is book 3 in the Brothers Ink Series by Nicole James. This new series will feature Brothers Ink owner Jameson O'Rourke and his tattooed strong brothers Maxwell, Liam & Rory from the most popular tattoo shop in Grand Junction, Colorado. Nicole introduce a little of this 4 sexy strong Alpha men of in book 4 and 5 of the Evil Dead MC series when Crystal worked in the tattoo shop. This is the story of Liam and Velvet, their chemistry between Liam and Velvet was off the charts. They met at an LA tattoo convention where she's promoting a sexy calendar. They have an incredible night together but Velvet is gone in the morning without a goodbye or a note. Fast forward and she appear again in the last place he expects to find her. She has secrets! Liam must decide if she’s worth the risk ! NO Spoilers!! A must read!!I can't wait to read Rory's book. I highly recommend reading this series from Nicole James.

I think I figured out what it is about this series that keeps me reading even though I haven't rated any of the books 5 stars. I love the characters...the people that they are. The fun but strong bond the brothers have...the strong and sweet women they fall in love with...the beautiful connections they make together. Unfortunately I find quite a few faults in their actual stories and the overall plots of the books. Because to me, this book was probably a 3 star read, maybe 3.5 if half stars were allowed, but I really liked both Velvet and Liam (and seeing the little bits of Ava, Jameson, and Maxwell again).
So far in all of the books, Rory has been the least interesting or intriguing to me, so I don't think I'll carry on with the final book in the series, which is about him. Maybe I'll come back to it some day down the line, but for now I'm fine with ending with Velvet & Liam's love story.

Velvet met Liam when she tried to pull a scam. The blurb mentions Velvet is born into a family of con artist. He had been a mark. She meets him later when they are both at a tattoo convention. He doesn’t remember her. Instant sparks but she feels guilty about her past indiscretion she sneaks out. Velvet is a girl trapped, her family are gypsy. Thieves, liar and con man. Unfortunately Liam finds out that she the girl who scammed them. I felt sorry for her, she was only 15 years old at the time and badly influenced by her scum bag family. She has no one to turn to or to help her. She has been exploited and used all her life.
I liked it but not as much as the first two. The thing I like about this series is the female characters are not only different from each other but different to most I have read about.

Huh. It’s been 2 years since I was last in this universe and I wonder if this was just a bad instalment or if the other two were as poorly done. My previous reviews give me nothing.

Hmm...not a fan of insta-love but if the writing is up to scratch then I can deal with it. The characterisations were really poor; juvenile even. I kept reading as I wanted to know where it ended. I was keen to read the next book in the series but now I am a bit apprehensive.

Best line in the book though: ‘She sank down over him like a deflated soufflé.’ That at least gave me a laugh.

Eta: and don’t get me started on the irresponsibility of giving a mixed breed pit bull of unknown background/behaviour straight back out to family with a small child (and a baby in the way)!! That was awful. As someone who deals with rescue animals occasionally that was so unsafe for the children and the dog. 🤬

I loved so much Liam and Velvet’s story. Their chemistry is scorching hot from the very beginning, but there’s so much more between them.
The plot is intriguing and engaging, I read Liam in one night, I couldn’t put down the book.
Liam is an amazing man, bossy and demanding, but also so protective, loving, with deep feelings for Velvet. The O’Rourke brothers are intense men, but winning their hearts is a treasure.
I loved Velvet she’s so a strong woman, her story as a child is heartbreaking, but she didn’t give up her dreams and she fights for her life, her freedom and for Liam.
I was so happy to see also glimpses of Jameson and Ava. I have a soft spot for Jameson, and Ava is really the one for him. Can’t wait to read the next story!

Different

This book was a little different from the other two. I didn't mind it but I really loved Ava & Jameson's traits, the stubbornness of them both. Now don't get me wrong a love a good "lovey dovey" story as the next person, but come on throw some strong willed women in the mix. I am surprised it didn't end with a baby. What happened with her brother? Did they ever find the body of the guy who fell? Or Skin? It's not a bad book just not one of my favorites. I really kind of hoped he & Steffy might have been his match. So good book just wish there was more stories with the likes of Ava Jameson, the whole not willing to back down.

Great story

This is a great continuation of the O'Rourke brothers and their lives,. Catching up with Jameson and Maxwell. Liam is an alpha male with a heart of gold. K owing how love can hurt, he wary of getting involved. When he does take a chance, he thinks he has been taken for a ride. Velvet was not there to con him, just love him. Hopefully, this will inspire people to help those in need and not just look at the outside but try to read the inside of people. Thanks for a great story of people who can overcome things they had no control over in their youth.

Liam's story broke my heart and then repaired it all at the same time. My heart broke for Velvet and all she had been through as a child. my heart broke again for Liam and his brothers as he talked of his parents. Then my heart broke for them both when events caused him to walk away. My heart was then repaired when he pulled his head out of his butt to talk to her and they got to have a life together they deserved. This series has been amazing and I can't wait to read Rory's story.

Good

Good read, liked the chemistry between Liam and Velvet and loved the fact that Velvet was a tattoo model. Velvet had a really hard life as a member of a family of gypsies and she had a past that was hard to overcome. Not telling Liam about that past almost destroyed their relationship but in the end love won out. Some of the plot twists were a little convoluted but the writing was good and the characters were wonderful. So far, Jameson is still my favorite book and brother but I have enjoyed the whole series.

Pinup Girl

Liam & Rory were at an expo show. It was there he saw the most beautiful girl.
The saga of the O'Rourke Brothers continues, this novel being about Liam. How Liam meets the love of his life and it not being the first time they have met.
The tail of Velvet's interesting backstory which include abuse, lack of education & survival.
The characters in this story are very dimensional; Sarcastic, talented, educated and problem solvers.
If you didn't enjoy the author's writing style before you will now.

Liam and Velvet are so smokin that I had to have a fire extinguisher handy...

Another sweet love story from Nicole James in the land of Brothers Ink. Set in the Colorado town of Grand Junction on the Western Slope, Liam is the perfect mix of mystery, secrets, love, and sex. I have read all of Nicole's novels starting with the Evil Dead MC ones to this last one in the Brothers Ink Tattoo Series and I encourage all who haven't started, to do so right away. N

Loved it!!!

I loved Liam and Velvet’s story. There was chemistry, sparks, bad guys, and brothers. Absolutely love this series and I love this authors writing style. It is edgy but her stories have a little sweet in them. I loved the hot guys but loved the women they fall for. Their stories so different and interesting. I am chomping at the bit for Rory’s story...hate waiting...but should be worth it!
