Who said life was a fairy tale? Because I’d gladly slice that jerk’s head off.

I’m Vicky, though that’s not really my name.

I never expected to end up half-naked in the woods with my guts hanging out. I didn’t plan to stumble upon the most powerful shifter clan in North America and three of the sexiest men I’ve ever laid eyes on.

Dominic, the fun and reckless new wolf.

Sam, the hot doctor with glacial-blue eyes.

And Gabriel, the intense, secretive alpha who wants nothing to do with me.

My real name is a one-way ticket back to hell, and my secrets need to stay buried like the girl I used to be.

Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Red Riding Hood—I can be all three.  I can use my powers to earn a place in their werewolf town, away from the bite of my past mistakes. I can use them—and their bodies—to survive.

The only thing I can’t do is fall for them.

I really enjoyed Magnetic, mostly because of the character of Vicky. I liked her devil may care attitude and her sexual freedom.

Vicky is a vandella, a she-demon that feeds on desire; a kiss is a bag of chips, foreplay is fast food and sex is a full course. She needs to feed daily but unlike a succubus, her power doesn't affect her meal other than a raging erection or a very wet vagina.
When she escapes a vampire kidnapping and ends up in a coma in the woods, she is food by three wolf-shifters that bring her to their house.

To be perfectly honest, Magnetic would probably have been perfect as a duology as there were two distinct plots happening. It was a fast burn but in the end, too much of a fast burn; it could have been worth it to develop everything a bit more, especially the relationships and the second part of the story. It felt a tiny bit too rushed for its potential.

But Magnetic was also very different as the characters' stories did not start when they met up. They all had a past, former flame, shadows, trauma and enough years on their biological clock to be physically and mentally mature. There were other women and men before, other loves, and it was never said at the beginning Vicky was to be the only love of their lives.

Magnetic was too fast, but overall I really enjoyed it and will probably try another story from the author.

+ Vicky's character is from another trilogy of the author, the first book being Shadow Walker. Vicky is only a minor character there and not reading it will not affect your enjoyment of Magnetic. Another character from Magnetic might also get her own story later on.

"I play the cool cucumber, but I'm more of a distraught apple."

Magnetic is Vicky's story, a spinoff from the Bloody Hearts series. Vicky is a vandella - a supernatural creature that needs sex to survive. And lots of it. She's phenomenally attractive (to both sexes, though only M/F relationships are in this book), and amazing in bed...but her heart is bruised and broken from constant rejection of herself. People either at worst call her a slut and a whore, or at best only want her for sex and status. She presents a hard, brittle front, but inside she wants to love and be loved.  I'll be honest, I thought she was awful when I read her brief part in Shadow Walker, but seeing her entire story was pretty awesome and it totally changed my mind. I'm hoping for a sequel or two!

Things I Liked

- This book was a HUGE improvement over the only other reverse harem novel I've read (which was so horrible I'm not even linking it). The way the author made having multiple lovers acceptable was interesting (i.e., Vicky needs a LOT of sex just to maintain a normal life, one person shouldn't have to fulfill ALL of her needs).
- The guys are all different. They're not identical except for their hair color or height. They have different personalities, different styles, different needs of their own. Oh, and yes, they're all hot. Which one you like best will depend on your own preferences. ;)
- There was a plot! This wasn't just a sex-fest, even though there was A LOT of sex. The whole reason Vicky meets the three guys is because she's running from a group of vampires that wants to control her and use her.
- Vicky goes through hell, and yet doesn't let it break her. She puts up with SO MUCH SHIT, emotionally (especially this), mentally, and physically, and yet she never gives up. She WILL rise, and she WILL get vengeance on the one who most cruelly used her. Yessssss.

Things I Didn't Like
There's one BIG secret that stays a secret until almost the end, and it just didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense to me. Can't say what exactly without giving a lot away, so I'm just saying it kind of jolted me out of the story and made me sit there and frown for a bit while I tried to figure out exactly how this could have been such a THING...

Overall

4/5 stars. Thoroughly enjoyable, recommended if you're a RH fan or looking to try the genre.

Full Review on my blog!

After reading and loving Anya’s Bloody Hearts trilogy I had to read this! This is set in the same world and features Vicky. I loved her minor role in that series, so I was pretty excited when I found out about this one!
Magnetic takes place a little after Cursed Souls, Vicky is a vandella, a demon that feeds on desire. She has been on the run for many years, always trying to stay one step ahead of the vampires that are after her and end up kidnapping her. Although she was badly injured when she tried to get away, she did manage to kill them. Thankfully she got help from 3 werewolves – Gabriel, Sam and Dominic.

It was nice seeing things from Vicky’s point of view. She’s a really interesting character. There was a lot going on in this book, the pacing felt a little rushed. I mean with the story of Vicky’s past, and her present situation with the 3 werewolves that she finds herself living with. Plus getting to know all of them. But somehow it worked out.

I loved how the story progressed and all the characters. I absolutely loved every minute of it, and was sad when it ended. This one is definitely worth the read! I feel like there’s room for more books in this world, especially since this werewolf community has been intorduced… but who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m definitely looking forward to whatever Anya writes next!

Vicky is trying to deal with her most recent heartbreak, wallowing in the fact that nobody sees her as relationship material, blaming her lust inducing gifts as an excuse for giving her the time of day. Next thing she knows, she is on the run from a group of vampires from her past when she finds herself in a car accident in the middle of nowhere. Her rescuers happen to be three sexy werewolf who decide to take her in, regardless of the issues they are already facing in the pack. Can Vicky finally find a place to call home?

The Bloody Hearts series by Anya is easily one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series so when I heard that she was writing a spin-off featuring Vicky, one of the intriguing side characters, I was so excited. Well, I am happy to report that Anya has show that she can write more than just one type of book because Magnetic is completely different- and a Reverse Harem. Where the Bloody Hearts series was action packed, angsty, broody, full of hard choices and harder consequences, Magnet was fast, fun, easy and sexy. There was a little bit of mystery and character development interspersed between a whole boatload of sexual encounters. SO if you are looking for sexy time, you have come to the correct place.

I found Vicky to be interesting when I first met her, a creature who fed of other's desire, but in other ways a normal woman with feelings and good and bad choices- for someone who is loosely labeled demonish, she was fairly nice and just- and an equal opportunist when it came to lust in anyone. In the style of RH genre, we have our spunky irresistible main character Vicky who ends up being rescued by three hunky werewolves. Can I just mention how much I love this world and the fact that any and all kinds of supernatural creatures can just show up at any time? So any way, there are three very different yet equally appealing men- the strong powerful alpha who refuses to get involved with Vicky, the shy doctor who wants an emotional connection before a physical connection and then the young fun wolf who is up for anything. I appreciated different things about each wolf and I love how Vicky has very different relationships with each.

I appreciate that this is very much a standalone story, a fast light read that you can get lost in for an afternoon. I feel like all the loose ends are wrapped up and I am completely satisfied with how everything turned out. It is now very apparent that I will read whatever Anya wants to write at this point and I can't wait to see whatever she wants to come up with next. Magnetic is the perfect read if you like paranormal romances, werewolves and the mate bond, and all things Reverse Harem.

I'm usually not a huge fan of PNR because of the "save the world" plot that is so boring and overdone and nobody really cares about because in romance we're here for the ROMANCE. This book was a breath of fresh air. Funny, sexy, and emotionally solid. Highly recc!

This is the first I've read of this author and I am looking forward to reading more. This book kept me entertained . I liked the FMC she has a unique personality! I enjoyed the variety of supernaturals in this book, the concept/story-line was unique . This was a fun read! A steamy supernatural RH that hooked me in after a few chapters!

Concept: top notch. Execution: meh.

Vicky is on the run. A Vandella (similar to a succubus but not quite) who feeds on desire and has just been dumped. After being captured by vampires and smoking them, she winds up in a town of shifters - wolf shifters - and meets Gabriel (alpha), Sam (old fashioned doctor), and Dominic (younger guy who was just turned ~10 years ago).

She's met with hostility and wariness by Gabriel/Sam and the people in town, who see her as a sex-crazed slut encroaching on "their" men. There's a plot afoot from a neighboring pack who has an alpha who wants to go to war with them.

I liked the idea of a heroine who needs to feed on desire, who is used to men using her for that (seeing her as a notch in their bedpost) but who never thinks what they have is "real" because she needs it to feed. She has an introspection where she thinks: "they don't realize it's always real to me, because it's all I know." (Not a direct quote but that's the general idea.) But again the execution just didn't knock it out of the park.

Besides the fact that I didn't buy into her relationship with any of the three guys... there was also hints where I thought it was just going to be a menage! Because someone in town really likes Gabriel and Vicky was always pushing them together. And then she just... bones him... the same night she sees them together? I know she wasn't friends with the other girl but damn.

Didn't buy into the love, and didn't care about the action. The third act conflict is that

5 Finger licking Good STARS

Shifter Books will always be my Favorite type of Paranormal Romances... there is something about an Alpha, the need to claim, bite and how possesive they can be. Hold on I need a second...

I love it when our Leading Lady has 0 shame about her sexuality! She won't allow people's opinions of her promiscuity to even phase her.

Vicky feeds off lust and requires it to survive. She learned a long time ago that when you give your heart to someone all that awaits you is pain. She has no intention of ever loving or ever belonging to another man again. She lets them just close enough to feed from. What she never expected was 3 shifters to carry her back to their home and an accident. To protect and cherish her. If only loving her was as easy as the fairy tales make it sound but the truth is to love her means you risk losing everything. How much are you willing to risk on a woman who didn't even tell you her real name?

I knew as soon as I saw Teen Wolf quoted and the first chapter titled "Kiss With A Fist" that this was my book, and the author was my people.

Vicky has become one of my favorite characters ever. Why? Because she knows who she is. She is fully aware it sucks when people see her as a slut who has no feelings. She may hide behind her humor, but she is absolutely amazing and I want to be her when I grow up. Her humor will make you want to be her friend, her sexuality will make you want her, and her bravery will make you loyal to her. Now let's talk boys, or should I say men? Dom is the funny and sweet one. He's the one you go to when you need lifting up. Sam is the sweet and stoic one. When you need a shoulder to lean on he's your man. And finally, Gabriel is the dominant sexy one. The one you go to when you need sex or a warrior.

I loved all four of these characters as well as the side characters. Vicky has lived through some traumatizing shit. Yet, she still has a heart capable of love and a personality capable of friendship. I hope we see more of these four!

What is this 'The End...for now' bullshit?!

Dont tease me 😢😢😢 I loved it and resigned myself to the fact I had to go in knowing it was standalone. AKA dont get attached dear heart.

That I couldnt fully throw my whole self into the world lest it be kicked back at the end of the book AND THEN you throw that at me?

Like excuse me this needs to be a series i need more of these 4 cutie patooties - in depth for multiple books - and dont forget babies and idk Queen kicking arse wonderfulness more male grovelling and bestie girl friends bonding. Like i need her to be full amazingness and for the pact to like see that shes Queen and all etc. Like how cool! Come on puuhlleeeaaassseeee.

You cant write an awesome book then expect me not to want more. This is filling somewhat of a lost girl void for me with the whole succubus esque awesomeness.

This was such a different book for me. I have read reverse harem before but not mixed with shifters and vampires and even the main character Vicky's "skill" was so different. I wasn't sure as I started reading if I was going to like it much but as I got into the book I found myself hooked.

This story is kind of a three "guys" and 1 "girl" situation but it isn't really that until quite towards the end where things happen that had my head turning and then the book was over. I would have loved to have seen more of the relationships develop once they had all finally got on board but unfortunately that was the end. That is my one negative so it's not too bad.

I have not read any other books from this author so I was in for a pleasant surprise. I liked the unique way the group came together slowly and the story was well written and flowed along nicely but I just needed more. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

I loved each of the wolves for different things just imagining being with them was just wow! I never wanted the story to end and I love the way she gave herself up to save them and they then rescued her....my heroes!

I absolutely loved this book! It’s witty, unique, a bit risqué. There’s so much excitement and hot steamy romance. It’s not for everyone. But it’s a HOT HOT read! If you are not into wolves and the supernatural, or giving in to human needs. Than this book is not for you!! I would highly recommend. As I have read it repeatedly.

Okay read

Interesting concept and good characters; however, the writing seemed stilted and more telling rather than showing. Everything happened so quickly. Mind changes, scenes, action, conflict... you name it and it happened quickly except for the steamy times. While that doesn't bother me too bad, I ultimately wanted more in the build up outside of intimacy.

No real character development, aside from the dr i couldn't really tell any difference between the other 2. Story was rushed without any real plot. It was ok as a in between book but I wont he continuing the series if there are any more.

SO... if you enjoy your books fast paced and full of sex and steam, you really owe it to yourself to read this one. You get three sexy supernatural men in one book. I enjoyed the characters and the drama. Each guy brought something special to the plot, and the heroine was well thought out and came into herself. It's worth reading!

I'll admit I wasn't sure how I felt about vickys character after reading the shadow walker series. But she absolutely blew me away in her story. There is so much more to her than what meets the eye. She hides her emotions well behind the seductress mask. I enjoyed seeing the men break down her walls and her break thru theirs. I absolutely loved this book! I highly recommend this book! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book picks up a little while after the end of the Bloody Hearts books. This book find Vicky on the run from the vampires again. Her so called friends set up an ambush for her so the vampires could get her. Vicky was injured when set tried to get away from the vampires, she did manage to kill them.
She is left wounded and dying in the woods, when 3 werewolves find her and bring her back to their house. You have Dom, Sam and Alpha Gab.
She is learning alot about herself since they brought her there. She has the fun loving Dom, the sweet Sam and still trying to figured out the Alpha Gab.
Will Vicky find love and happiness that she thinks she will never have, will the vampire of her past find her, as the books progresses you will see Vicky in a different light.
Read this book as you learn about Vicky's past, see past the wall she puts ups as she finds herself. This book as steam love scenes, action, romance as well. This book has everything and more packed into this. I recommend this book to everyone.

I received an arc copy of this book and this is my honest review.

I enjoyed this book. It took a few chapters to get into this book but when I did it was really worth the read.

Vicky escapes the clutches of vampires and found barely alive by a pack of wolves.

She becomes part of their lives and starts to find her true self. There’s love, twists and turns and excitement all rolled into one.

I think you definately have to be in the mood for this kind of book. Thankfully,I totally was. I really enjoyed it.

I usually stay away from succubus type books because I find it hard to not end up judging them or cringing at their choices. This book (although technically not a succubus) was really well done. She is very free with her sexuality sure, being that she needs to feed daily, but I found it was really enjoyably. Probably because she started with Dom, who was my favorite of the three males. He was so accepting, so carefree and supportive for her to just be herself. He loved everything about her and was never conflicted when it came to her.
He was the first one to comfort her and defend her, and just the best boyfriend.

The other two were good two, very well written with their own pasts, their own issues and insecurities and desires.

I enjoyed the conflict at the end as well, as much as I burned with anger and resentment for her situation, it was totally needed to bring the book to a close. I love that she got her own revenge too, no damsel here.

Over all a really good read. So, if you're not in the mood for a steamy succubus type heroine, maybe give it a few days until that particular mood strikes. Trust me, you won't regret giving this one a chance.

I have been on a reverse harem kick this summer for some reason, so when Voracious Readers offered me this one I jumped on it. I really enjoyed this guilty pleasure read. It didn’t have some of the annoying tropes I hate in RH novels (love at first sight, complicated rules) and I loved Dom, Sam, and Gabe. They each had distinct personalities and were well written characters. The plot was good, though I felt a little rushed at the end. All in all a good read.

This showed up on my FB timeline as a recommendation. I had never read a reverse harem novel before (unless you count Anita Blake, which just got to be to much) so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was thrilled to be able to download a sample before I committed to buying it in case it wasn't my cup of tea.
I was very pleasantly surprised by both the writing (there is some real amateurish stuff out on Kindle that is near impossible to slog through) and the story. I have not read any of the author's other work so I had a little catching up to do as far as world building but she kept most things pretty standard and although it might have been nice to have the previous brush with 'Vicky' in the other novels it didn't hinder my enjoyment of this book one bit.
I think a little more time with the set up would have been nice, but once we got to Wolf Creek I sank right into the story. I am not usually a fan of alternating perspectives but it just seemed to work with this story.
I loved the development of each relationship in its own way/time. 'Vicky' was such a great lead and each of her wolves were perfect in their own respective ways, I found myself falling in love with them a little bit too. I was drawn into the characters and want to know everything about everyone's history, but the author did a great job of fleshing everyone out, even the supporting characters, so they stayed distinct and didn't just blur together.
The wolf drama was interesting and engaging but unfortunately the mystery of 'Vicky' seemed to get lost in the process. I wish more care had been taken with explaining her backstory, and that her plotline had been given more thought, especially since she is the heroine, and a great one at that. It just seemed so... anticlimactic. Perhaps the author was concerned about the word count, all I know is that it felt very rushed at the end.

This book did not feel magnetic. Spoilers.

I don’t know why this book scored so high. If you are looking for a book that’s mostly steamy then hey, this might be your cup of tea. As it is, I would’ve liked a little more of a rounded book. Especially if it’s claiming it’s a standalone. Beginning into the book was fine. Then you get to the part where she’s abducted then escapes and is found by a wolf community and one of them realizes that the reason she’s not getting better from her coma-like state is because she’s not “feeding”. So it goes from one of them feeling such attraction that he cuddles her comatose body because she appears cold or whatever and then she get enough energy to basically say they need to bang... I mean I get this is a fantasy book but... come on really? So she hides out in this community throwing off her pheromones and ect. Then there’s another issue in the community that needs solved, it gets solved and then not really touched on again which was annoying (how they took over a clan and are trialing them being apart of their community). And then close to the end it circles back to the main reason she was abducted, by who, and ect. This really was the main point in the book but got buried probably due to the author spending so much time talking sex scenes and some wolf drama. The end result is a quick fix of trying to circle back to the point of her abduction where it’s really her husband who’s vampire royalty and crazy. And then summarized in a few sentences she kills him and she gets caught but let’s go by I think the main guard? Idk this book was just so poorly developed it’s hard to nail down some of the facts. The idea of this book was great but the vision and follow through was completely lacking.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

I am Vicky, though that is not really my name. I never expected to end up half-naked in the woods with my guts hanging out. I didn't plan to stumble upon the most powerful shifter clan in North America, and three of the sexiest men I've ever laid eyes on. Dominic, the fun and reckless new wolf. Sam, the hot doctor with glacial-blue eyes. And Gabriel, the intense alpha who wants nothing to do with me. My real name is a one-way ticket back to hell, and my secrets need to stay buried like the girl I used to be. Sleep Beauty, Snow White, Red Riding Hood-I can be all three. I can use my powers to earn a place in their werewolf town, away from the bite of my past mistakes. I can use them-and their bodies to survive. The only thing I can not do is fall for them.

I am not a huge paranormal reader. But sometimes one of them catches my attention and I have to give it a try. This is a reverse harem shifter romance that will have you from page one till the very end. I loved Vicky and her attitude. She is a vandella or a she-demon that feeds on desire. She has to feed daily too which means this girl stays very busy in the sex department. She has just escaped a vampire kidnapping and ends up in the wood in a coma. She is found by three wolf-shifters who end up bringing her into their home. This is a very fast paced book and at times I felt like things could have developed more, or I wanted more. Other than that this is hot read that will have you reading until the very end. Let's just hope your kindle doesn't catch fire.
