Everyone has Hunter Kaid all wrong. Even his own brother writes him off as unintelligent, but not all smarts are the same. He just needs one person to understand him and listen to what he’s really saying. All of his life, he’s been searching for that one person who really takes the time to see him, and just when he’s about given up, he stumbles upon Sadey. She’s hurt one of his pack-mates, and his loyalty to his people wars with his interest in this human woman with the sad smile and the good heart. He might not be the brightest apple in the bunch, but he has a talent for seeing the good in people, and Sadey Lawklin is oozing with goodness that he can’t ignore. A hurt woman like her needs time and patience before he tries to change her life, but the closer she gets to him, the more his inner wolf wants to claim her. And now he can’t tell who is in more danger—himself, or her.

Sadey Lawklin is in the armpit of her life. She’s dug herself into a hole that will be nearly impossible to dig out of, and the very first thing she needs to do is apologize to the people she’s hurt before she can heal herself. She has a plan to turn her entire life around in a matter of weeks, but one thing she didn’t plan on is another man sniffing around her. This is the worst timing to get attached to someone, and especially someone as agile and deadly as a Kaid Brother. No one messes with the Kaids. Everyone in town knows who they are, but they haven’t figured out what they are. And when Sadey discovers Hunter’s deep, dark, and terrifying secret, she’s sucked down a rabbit hole that just might break her…unless the watchful wolf who has chosen her can Make Her New.

I found myself utterly charmed by this book. I loved that Sadey owned up to her past with Maris and how Maris didn't hold that against her. You could tell that these two had the potential to be friends. But what really won me over was Hunter. His simple ways and words had me wishing he found happiness and I loved that Sadey saw how great Hunter was. After what she had been through a man like Hunter was perfect for her. I really liked how this one ended, loved how the pack became a "real" pack.

The reason this got three stars instead of two is that she makes reference to my favorite character from the Damon's Mountains series Bash.

I love this author, I really really do, but sometimes I just feel like I've read this story before. She uses the same phrases and tone of language over and over in every single book that I just want to scream for something new to experience.

To be honest I couldn't even remember the main characters from the last book that were in this one. I had to look them up again because at the beginning I had no idea who Sadey was supposed to meet and why Maris was important.

I will always read her books because I'm loyal to her, but I hate that I'm not excited for them anymore.

I absolutely love Hunter Kaid. I can’t think of enough adjectives to describe how adorably entertaining I found this book. To be rescued by such an awesome man who also happens to be a shifter? I absolutely adored Hunter Kaid!

Seing You!!!

Sadey Lawklin hurt people in her life, she needed to apologize to them before she could heal herself.
So she strated with the woman she'd hurt the most Maris Thurgood ( STEAL HER HEART ). She wanted to turn her life around and she even had a plan, she just never expected for the sexy as sin Hunter Kaid to make her feel things she wasn't ready for. Speaking of the Kaid brothers, she knew that everyone in town stayed cleared of them cause they couldn't figure out what they were.

All his life Hunter Kaid people had been misunderstood by everyone even his own brother, Wes. He'd been looking for one person to truly see him for who he is but since it didn't seem like such person existed, he was just about to throw in the towel. Then in walked a beautiful, vulnerable human woman named Sadey Lawklin into his life. Changing it in so many different ways.

He knew he should walk away from her but deep down he saw that she was a good person who'd make a bad decision. He didn't like the fact that she'd hurt Maris but his inner animal was drawn to her just like he was. He was told to stay away from her by Wes but he couldn't, he wrote her a letter apologizing for what happened at Taps.

She wrote him back and decided to drive out to the Kaids Ranch to leave it for him. She told him about her moving and that piece of information nearly ripped his heart out. Despite wanted to keep her close, he wanted Sadey to be happy and whole again. So he decided to help her in anyway he could.

He was slowly dying, he felt sick after the event that took place in the previous book wit Wes leaving him after theh were attacked. Something broke inside of him, him and his wolf felt unwanted by their brother. But he couldn't be more wrong, Wes LOVED him so darn much that the tought of losing him would destroy him. He wanted to be more like Hunter.

Sadey found out about the secret at the Kaid Brother's Ranch, she didn't run instead she felt safe being there with them. They were people she'd come to know and loved as her own. She needed Hunter to fight to stay with her, no matter what and that's what he did. The dynamics between the Kaid brothers, Bry and the women were alluring. They all became a family.

Ooh it was great to great a Boarlander Bash Bear mention, loved how Maris and Sadey became friends. They were both Dallas's victims but they showed him and the world that they were stronger than they thought.

MAKE HER NEW  is the first installment in T. S. Joyce's  KAID RANCH SHIFTERS  series. It was emotional, fun, heartwarming and riveting. T. S. Joyce did a fantastic job. I'm looking forward to what comes next! 5++++

The first book in the series was funny as hell. This book? I couldnt stop crying! Man I really felt for Hunter...thinking all this time he wasnt worth anything. That he was stupid and didnt mean anything to anyone. He wasnt good enough. When the attack happened in the previous book he got really hurt. He didnt heal. Its no wonder why he didnt because he didnt feel like anyone cared...his brother left him dying on the ground to help Bryson and Maris. He didnt do it to turn his back on his brother but to offer help. Because of his pain and not healing and smelling sick...Wes just crumbled when he found out why. He's been kinda hard on Hunter for awhile. Hunter does things differently and he thinks a little differently too. I think he's the type that needs reassurance he's enough. He's not stupid at all. I was sooo mad and sad on his behalf because he thought so little of himself. Then we have Sadey who was the "other woman" that Maris' ex-husband cheated with...only Sadey had no idea which really wrecked her. I love how this story ends. It gets you in the feels. I cant wait for Wes' story because thats one hell of a teaser!

I really enjoy T.S. Joyce's books! She's incredibly talented, and writes about hilarious characters that get into way too much trouble. I'm really impressed with how she has such a diversity of characters. Many of them have disabilities or mental illnesses and they absolutely enthrall you. Hunter has some mental issues, and yet he works through them with Sadey's help. I totally can relate with him and was very enthralled by Hunter and Sadey. As someone with multiple mental illnesses, I'm impressed by how accurately she portrays them. Her books are very inspirational, and I really appreciate that! I highly recommend checking this series, and all her books out!

Hunter nearly broke my heart with his tenderness - reminded me of Bash!!!

Ok, so funny story; I just finished rereading Bash Bear's book two days before I bought Alpha Joyce's latest book - this one - Make Her New! How absolutely amazing was it for me to find a character here reading Bash's book to another character!! OMG, I was so overjoyed and laughing like a maniac!
Hunter reminds me so much of Bash Kane, with the same fears and desires, all the while thinking he's not worthy of a true mate; believing he can never be gentle enough for a human.. Sadey is the "other woman" from the first book in this series, Steal Her Heart, and it's so great to see the real story behind Dallas' betrayal of Maris and to witness the consequences for every one involved.
I loved watching Hunter slowly hunt Sadey, and to see her truly blossom in the strong and smart woman I knew her to be was amazing!!

Wow this was a good book. Hunter and his brothers are shifters living on a big ranch. Sadey is confronting the woman she wronged when she meets them. I loved the character of Hunter, he was so different from anything that I have read. They were meant for each other.

Ugh mad to okay

So I LOVED the first book and was excited to read Hunters story bc he seemed like the shy nerd type that knew about everything but was quiet bc of Wes..... boy was I wrong! Why the author choose to dumb him up and make him “slow” is beyond me and actually really ticked me off to the point I had to put the book down and think if I really wanted to continue it. There was a huge disconnect from who he was made to be in the first book to this book. Literally made no sense . For example : SPOILERS :::::

When Maris got bit in the first book and they were trying to change her to save her, they all turned to Hunter bc he was the book nerd that ‘read things and knew things’ but then in the book called him “slow” and some words he didn’t “know what they mean” - um what?!?!?

I felt like the author didn’t even remember how she wrote Hunter in the first book and didn’t even care to double check to make sure it flowed accurately and every detail lined up.
The other part that I didn’t like was how Sadey only seemed to be heartbroken over what Dallas did to her, NOT her husband whom she was married to for years who cheated on her. Literally that’s all that was said about her ex husband is that one sentence. ?????i did however push through my anger and finish the book and didn’t hate it but wow, really could’ve been a great book like the first one but missed the mark. I’m praying the 3rd book puts this series back on track! Yes I’m going try to read the third one , bc I absolutely loved the first book and I do like the other characters and their banter! I’ll give it a chance but if it’s like this book I’ll probably just drop the series

Well this was disappointing. I wanted to read about a great hero/wolf shifter with a fantastic love story to make me feel warm & fuzzy, this sure wasn’t that book. Too much emphasis was put on Hunter not being smart, or slow or what have you, that it took away from him as the main character, making me think of him as sort of borderline “Rainman” & that this doesn’t seem realistic for a main male character. I don’t believe Hunter was portrayed that way in book 1 of the series, if I remember right. I got too hung up in his portrayal in this book and the wording the author used when he spoke to make him “dumbed down” that I couldn’t fathom him being a worthwhile leading character to read about. It’s one thing to be illiterate, or uneducated, or the silent type, so no one realizes the depth to the character, until the FMC peels back the layers, but this was intentionally written to make him seem “less”. But then you throw in things like him researching magic witchcraft type stuff in old books, & it’s a contradiction of character qualities that takes the reader out of the story & think “bull$hit”. I wasn’t excited about Sadey, since she was the bad girl from book 1, but she ended up being redeemable in this book after all. This book left such a bad taste in my mouth, I definitely don’t want to continue with the series!

I liked this one more than the first in this series. Loved the H, so sweet. The h had the opportunity to explain herself. Liked the interaction of all the characters and looking forward to the next

Wonderfully well suited couple and the h helps the H to believe in himself. His brothers protected him because he's slow at learning but he's also very smart. He falls hard for the h, and she is a great character. Loved their story.

TS Joyce is KU gold for me. Is this technically a 5-star book? No way, but how it made me feel because of the characters, the minor plot (there's not a huge amount going on here), the heart and the humor was totally 5 stars. And I think it's possibly the first 5 stars I've given to this author despite having read all 47 novellas over 10 series' of her Damons Mountains Universe and loving the vast majority of them.

Hunter, Hunter, Hunter, how I love Thee. 'Cinnamon roll' is a term I've seen used about certain types of characters and Hunter certainly fits that bill.

He is one of the types of characters that I love above all others; honest, simple (I don't mean intellectually, even though he is not the sharpest tool in the box) but oh so sweet. WYSIWYG with people like Hunter and that makes for such a lovely change from the complexity that most of us makes of ourselves in the world and most of the time in books too. There's no game playing or other such emotional nonsense and that is so attractive to me in a romance. I loved TS's nod to another of her 'cinnamon roll' characters, Bash from Boarlander Bash Bear, who is a very similar person to Hunter, albeit (from memory) with some superior tech skills (see supernatural online dating agency from the Damons Mountains books!).

As for Sadey, she was (unwittingly) a party to hurting another woman in the same way that had been done to her and had no compunction about offering her heartfelt apologies for her actions. That is a big thing to do IRL but also not something I see so often in books either so was an added bonus that showed the depth of her character. And it ended up with her having a strong bond with said other woman, so it's a win-win for both of them. And it says a lot about a Sadey's character that all she saw in Hunter was the good and the pure rather than what he was 'lacking'.

I had tears on more than one occasion reading this short book, as Hunter in particular really has so much heart, but TS Joyce almost always manages to scrape out a range of emotions from me whist reading her books.

Are TS Joyce's book formulaic? Yes absolutely, but I read them because
a) I love the worlds she creates, and that her characters tend to be normal working people rather than billionaires and CEO and the like and
b) I know what I'm going to get, but enjoy the slightly different scenery to get there each time.
Her formulas work for me because they are just so comforting whilst also being a tad exciting as I never know what little adventure I'm going to get each time.

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

Make Her New is the second title in the Kaid Ranch Shifters series, and this one has some serious emotional punch in an already high-level emotions series. Really, most of what you’d want to know before picking this one up can be found in the Cover Description. What that doesn’t show you are the five people who are about to have their lives changed again, discover just how deep emotions run and, maybe, make some truths known, a bit more obvious and finally understood.

Both Sadey and Hunter are wounded creatures, in different ways but the hurt each is carrying is a very heavy load. Sadey made a mistake and that mistake was trusting a man who didn’t deserve her trust. Now she’s facing the worst she can imagine and actually owning up and saying sorry for her part in hurting a good woman. If she is to start fresh and rebuild her life this is the first step – she simply had no idea that this meeting was going to change her life in both good and wildly baffling ways as well.

My goodness, how I loved Hunter. He’s keeping a lot of pain inside, emotional and physical, yet he’s got smarts that come naturally for he understands people, their goodness, their possibilities and he has a heart of gold for those he cares about. Learning his truth was both painful and freeing because he’d found a woman in Sadey who could handle everything he is and has gone through. She might not always understand, but she won’t run, she digs in and goes after what she needs – and that is a life with Hunter, no matter how odd to the outside world.

There is one portion of this story that I laugh-snorted my way through. And if you are a long-time T. S. Joyce reader who has read all the series – then this little golden moment will make you smile for certain. It was perfectly played.

I had such a good time in Make Her New. The Kaid pack is unique but growing into something to be proud of. If you love a good Shifter Romance and characters who will wrap themselves around your heart then you’ll love the Kaid Ranch Shifters series.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Once upon a time, I was on a horrific diet trying to lose weight and I’d had a bad day...so, like a rational well adjusted adult, I drove through Dunkin and got the biggest chocolate covered, cream filled donut they had and I went through a car wash so I could sit in the cocoon of water and soap and silence and eat that sugar and carb filled decadence in peace and quiet. It wasn’t shameful, it was thrilling and I felt all the better for it once my car was clean. Big, gleeful smile on my face even though I knew it was silly and goofy and a little bit wrong.

These books are like that donut.

They are pure, unadulterated self indulgence...and this one was the best I’ve read by this author for a lot of reasons: I haven’t laughed so much at a book in a long time. It was so cute and funny that I didn’t stop smiling the whole damn time and I’m not a big emotional person. It was short enough to read in a couple of hours, but not so incredibly rushed that I felt like I got whip lash or missed out on anything.

I mean, werewolf cowboys? Come on. What’s not to like behind the safety of your innocuous Kindle cover where no one knows what you’re reading even though you secretly recommend the books to all your friends?

The first book I ever read by this author was Swim Deeper and I read it as a joke because it was about alligator shifters and ai thought that sounded so dumb...but she proved me wrong. Well, after a year of reading one angst filled PNR book after another I needed another break so I turned to this author and now that I’ve started reading this series I know I’m just going to binge it until I go into the book equivalent of a sugar crash. And I can’t wait.

This is the second book in the series. They should be read in order. Hunter hasn’t been well since they saved Maris. Sadey has dug herself a giant hole. She dated that man and believed the lies he told her. She put an end to that but that didn’t change anything really. She wants to make this right with Maris. She plans on moving and starting over. Not moving out of town just to an apartment. What she never considered was another man wanting to be there for her. Wanting to help her and expecting nothing in return. Hunter Kaid has taken her completely by surprise. He is the best surprise. He has some deep dark secrets himself. Will they be able to help each other? Sadey discovers one of Hunter’s secret and finds herself sucked down a rabbit hole. She isn’t all alone though. Maris is right by her side. She doesn’t blame Sadey for what happened. Through a shared ex they have formed a bond, and friendship. I can’t say enough about this book. I loved it so much. I felt for Hunter. He is so caring and sensitive. He is going through his own thing and it isn’t easy. Sadey has found a whole new group a family. I love these characters and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Fantastic job T. S. Joyce.

TS Joyce is my go to for all shifter books, and there is a reason for that...I can always count on great characters, strong women, tough but sweet alphas, and a wonderful story! This book just continues to reinforce why I love TS Joyce.

Book 2 of the Kaid Ranch Shifters, it is Hunter’s story. Hunter the quiet peacekeeper of the pack, well he’s quiet and a peacekeeper until he meets Sadey and then all bets are off. Sadey is broken. She has been manipulated, lied too, and hurt by all the men in her life. She’s looking to rebuild herself and her independence.

These two were perfectly imperfect together. They understand each other from the start but they both have problems they need to heal from. Reading this sweet story will just put a smile on your face and have you cheering! I definitely recommend and can’t wait for Wes’s book, especially after reading the sneak peak...WTH??? Start this series immediately!!!

Make Her New is the second book in the Kaid Ranch Shifters series. It is a quick and easy to read book set in the shifter world created by this author.

Hunter tore at my heart a little bit. He’s such a sweet and caring man, who for most of his life was made to feel as though he wasn’t smart enough or good enough. He made me so sad and I desperately wanted to grab that big man and give him a hug. Sadey was believed to be a home wrecker because her ex boyfriend lied to her about his marriage being over. She’s determined to make things right and move on with her life.

From the moment Hunter sees Sadey, his wolf comes alive and wants to protect and be close to her. These two individuals were perfect together and helped to heal one another.

Wes’ book will be the next to be released in this series. We learned more about the reasons for his attitude and his feelings, and I’m anxious to see how his story will turn out, especially after reading the description for his upcoming book.

ENTERTAINING UNCONDITIONAL PASSIONATE TRUE LOVE

“Make Her New,” is a beautiful story showing how unconditional true love lifts you when you feel broken. Fabulous character interaction, suspense, action, family love, humor, emotional turmoil, and fiery, passionate romance make this a heart-melting story.

Hunter Kaid wolf-shifter has been misunderstood all his life. His family believing he was slow, not as intelligent as his brothers. Truth is, he sees and feels things others do not. Hunter is protective and his kindness warms your heart. Sadey has had a few heartbreaking experiences. She also unintentionally hurt one of Hunter’s pack mates. Hunter feels that Sadey is a good person and wants to help her. Both yearn for the warmth and tenderness of true love. There are a few obstacles they have to overcome before reaching their happy forever.

Entertaining story-line with wonderful characters. Hunter and Sadey’s chemistry shines and you could feel their devotion/ for each other. I look forward to reading Wes Kaid’s story. Loved this KU read.

Hunters was always classed as the dumb one of the Kaid brothers but when he caring side kicks in when he sees a lady looking really Sad he couldn’t help but check if she was ok... a man of not meany words soon finds out the lady that drone him in is his mate and when her ex boyfriend started sniffing around it clicks a switch on that hunter never expect. Anger that he’s never felt before threatened to expose him and his brothers to the hole town... Sadey never expects to be loved again or shown any type respect after her ex played her for a fool.. but when a cowboy she don’t Evan know defends her in public while her ex it telling her what to do and how to feel.. knocking her out of the shadow of her self she fallen into and finally standing her ground.. but this cowboy opened up feeling she never known she had after watching him being dragged away by his brothers... will this cowboy be the fresh start she needed or will she carry on and sell her ranch and move on?

Yeeeessssss!!!!!! Loved It!!!!!

I love this book, naturally!!!!! Omg, every damn series she writes just gets better and better!! And BETTER!!!! I love how her characters are not just sex machines, but men with a heart full of love, just looking for the right woman to give it to!!!! So far, I love the dynamic of the Kaid Brothers Ranch. 2 brothers, and a man that became their brother, their family. Add in 2 women that had every right to hate each other, but end up being best friends!! Wes is absolutely hysterical. I cannot WAIT for his story, coming to us in February!! And I'm hopin' and prayin' she writes Sam's story too!! Oh, what it must be like inside this wonderfully talented woman's head!! When I read the teaser from Wes's book, I actually screamed out loud. COME ON FEBRUARY!!!!!!!

I LOVED this one! I can’t even say how many passages I have underlined! Between the thoughts, actions and conversations..it’s A LOT! I liked Hunter in the last book and the author improved upon him in this one. Heck. Even Sadey. I wasn’t a fan of hers last book but I actually come to like her in this one.

The bickering is back! These three boys have got it in spades. Now add in Maris’ snarky spark. It’s a pretty fun and easy read. Sadey is a more quiet girl but that goes away once she is comfortable. Hence her selfies with Maris. This is becoming a wonderful group.

This story is sweet, heartwarming and these characters are just looking for love and acceptance. I enjoyed the “nod” to the Boarlanders in here as well. I enjoyed the heck out of this story. I think I read it in two days. Hated to put it down. I see the preview for the next one and I can’t wait!

TS Joyce writes such great characters. Not necessarily book smart but oh so heart-smart. :)

In this book, Hunter is constantly saying that he's not smart but he's always looking out for the people he loves. Sadey was the "other woman" who broke Maris and her ex up. However, she didn't know about it and broke up with that jerk right after she found out, setting the stage for her being a sympathetic character. Both are a bit broken and hurt but together, they can heal. I love the fact that this author focuses on how her characters are stronger together than apart. There's no forced introduction of a silly reason to break up but rather, the couple (and their friends/family) deal with issues that they face together. It was a wonderful story that made me go Awwww multiple times and made me smile throughout. I'm looking forward to Wes' story!
