Hi, I'm Paul Teague (writing as Paul J. Teague), the author of the Don't Tell Meg trilogy, the Morecambe Bay series of books as well as several other standalone psychological thrillers such as Dead of Night, So Many Lies and Now You See Her.
I'm a former broadcaster and journalist with the BBC, but I have also worked as a primary school teacher, a disc jockey, a shopkeeper, a waiter and a sales rep.
I've read thrillers all my life, starting with Enid Blyton's Famous Five series, then graduating to James Hadley Chase, Harlan Coben, Linwood Barclay and Mark Edwards.
If you love those authors then you’ll like my thrillers too.
I started off writing thrillers with the Don’t Tell Meg Trilogy which draws upon my 18 year career in radio journalism.
It’s fast-moving, high action and a bit racy in places, but it was great fun writing the story and I hope to re-visit the characters one day.
My standalones are ‘can’t-put-down’ stories where normal people find themselves in extradordinary situations.
I also write sci-fi and dystopian novels as Paul Teague and these stories are set in dark and sinister future-worlds.
I have written The Secret Bunker Trilogy, The Grid Trilogy and the stanadlone story, Phase 6.
The most amazing collection of thrillers I've ever read. SO GRATEFUL FOR THE LOCKDOWN SPECIAL OFFER TOO, thank you
The trilogys,, starting with Don't tell Meg..utterlerly compelling, wonderful writing, fast paced action and plots. In fact all the characters in each story has a good person in there, among the wrong in a of course. Will certainly be looking out for more from Paul Teague. HOOKED!
You'll be wanting some Viscene (eye drops) if you read this
I read a heck of a lot of books but this one seemed to drag on and on. Having only read 3% of the first book, I'm feeling bored and I want to skip ahead to the juicy stuff. Ok so we need to know a little background on each character, but for me, this is excruciatingly slow. I've skipped probably 5 or 6 pages... I find that the writer is explaining absolutely everything, right down to the colour and shape of the ant that's crawling across the back of the yellow paper blind. The kind that you saw back in school, remember when you were in yr 2, and you had to open the blinds, those yellow paperblinds, the one that if you pulled just that teeny too hard, the blind would either be so stretched that it would just hang there like some washing that's been left out on the line for 3 weeks straight.....see where I'm going with this? I'll skip a few more pages, keep reading, but only until my eyes dry out, then I'll find another book. Too slow for me, but this is just my opinion.
I enjoyed the Morecambe trilogy but found the other books too far fetched, very disjointed, it even seemed as though parts had been left out. In some of the books there were more murders than in the whole series of Midsummer Murders. The endings in some of the books were confusing, one minute being in the middle of a situation, then time had passed and it was sorted, but no real explanation why. I felt as though I was reading a boys comic book without the pictures
On the whole I truly loved all of these stories. However what puts me off is the bad language and profanity. I’m absolutely positive it’s it necessary as I’ve read ones that have been wonderful without any of the former. In my opinion there’s no need for it. The characters came into their own, the twists some of them had was delightful and I felt a sense of fear in some of them wondering what would happen next. Thank you.
These were good books for a quick no worry read. Some were much better than others and the author would have done well if he’d employed a better editor as some of the writing left a lot to be desired. The core plots were excellent but characterisation and asides let him down quite badly at times. Overall I would have liked to give 2 and a half stars but didn’t want to be mean and give two so he got a lucky three.
Absolutely brilliant value. Full on suspense and mystery. Don't tell Meg trilogy had me completely hooked. I read when I go to bed, before I knew it my husband said, "Good morning", I had been so absorbed that I had read through the night and not slept. Now that is a sign of a seriously good book.
Written by a man who obviously knows what he's doing. Although I did only scan through the author notes, I did get the gist he uses a lot of his own experiences. Excellent value for money.
Absolutely loved all of the books in this series. The writing and description of Margate was so good I feel as if I've been there. Each and every book drew me in to the story quickly. Love this author
Really enjoyed all the stories in this book! The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and not wanting to put it down! Unlike a lot of mystery/thrillers I could not work out the bad guy until I read to the end!
I thoroughly enjoyed this collection. I would like to see more of the main characters. I felt a sadness with Meg and Peter but I think there are more adventures awaiting Peter and his old flame.
So many stories in this . The last 2 or 3 were short, but long enough to get entrenched. Almost totally forgot about the don't tell meg. There was one that bored me, but can't remember the name. But overall kept my hour plus commute interesting.
These books are like driving by an accident knowing you shouldn't be looking but being unable to take your eyes off it. The more you read the more jaw dropping twists and turns.
This trilogy is a riveting read. I stayed up way too late, enthralled in the stories and elaborate characters. A must-read for lovers of suspense. Teague weaves a masterful tale.
Excellent plots and storylines .Made a really good read in the current lockdown situation. Having read 12 of Paul Yeah he's books would consider reading more of his books
This box set is not to be missed. Fantastic characters who you feel you know. Great stories. As each unfolded you wanted more. Pulls you in and keeps you there. Fantastic
Awful! Struggled through the first book and read the reviews of the second which said that it was worse then the first so decided not to waste anymore time and energy reading them.
