Narrated by Scott Eastwood and Andi Arndt, a sweeping, second chance romance that weaves mystery, passion, and humor as two present-day lovers search for a love story from the past....

Past loves should stay in the past.

After the way my first love took off for the ends of the earth, the last thing I want is to see him on billboards and bookstore bestseller shelves. That's easier said than done, because when we reconnect, I learn Hunter has his own agenda on this project. And it's not to find a treasure in art and antiques. It's me. But what we discover shocks both of us, and we have no choice but to follow the clues....

P.S. It's Always Been You is the first installment in Lauren Blakley's new second chance romance and after finishing it, I can't wait to get to the next two installments.

In the past, Presley and Hunter were so in love with each other. But Hunter took off to do a secret, important job and left Presley behind, breaking up with her in the worst way. It's been years, but since he's a bit of a celebrity now, she can't escape seeing his face everywhere. If that's not bad enough, now she has to see him in person. And her job depends on it.

Andi Arndt always does an amazing job narrating, and this was no exception. Scott Eastwood also did a fantastic job narrating, what I believe is his debut audio book. I can't wait to listen to more from these two. I loved the chemistry between Presley and Hunter. As much as Presley tries to deny it, she's still got feelings for him, and it's obvious that Hunter sees Presley as the one who got away.

If you're looking for an intriguing, sweet, and sexy start to a second chance romance, pick this one up. It was a fun, easy read, and I'm excited to find out what happens next with Presley and Hunter.

5 star review of P.S. It’s Always Been You Part 1 by Lauren Blakely

AUDIO REVIEW:

This was a captivating start to this story about the narration by Scott Eastwood and Andi Arndt was absolutely spot on. They blended so well together you would think that they had been a team for years.

This is a second chance at love story for Hunter and Presley and one that I listened to in it’s entirety. I was intrigued by the story and totally invested in this first part. Scott Eastwood’s voice was swoon worthy and I dell under his spell as Hunter. Andi Arndt as always was spot on and they both added to my listening enjoyment.

Brought back together by circumstances, Presley has never gotten over Hunter leaving her for a mysterious job and now ten years later when she is struggling in her career, he walks back into her life, challenging everything.

This was a little like an Indiana Jones story line and I found myself riveted as the hunt for lost treasure began. I would have loved this to be a lot longer but will wait not so patiently for the part two to release.

Blakely marks the beginning of heartstopping adventure with a page turner of a romance. P.S. It's Always Been You takes a bite out of hearts with the swoon-worthy voices of Scott Eastwood and Andi Arndt who work surprisingly well together. Between their masterful delivery and Blakely's unpredictable characters, Presley and Hunter, P.S. It's Always Been You proves to be a risk worth taking.

Presley and Hunter were young and in love. While on a little vacation, they thought a long distance relationship could work between them. Unfortunately, Hunter gets a call on a job he can’t possibly pass up and brakes up with Presley over the phone leaving her broken hearted.

Presley is an art historian trying to make a name for herself but unlucky for her, she just hasn’t been able to catch a break. Good thing for her her boss proposes the job of a lifetime to finally get her name out in the art world. The only downfall, working with her ex.

Hunter is an adventurer who has succeeded in his life. He has lived life to the fullest with no regrets or so he thinks. After one scary moment in his life does he reconsider if he really has lived the best life. Hunter finally gets to see Presley again while he gets to work on a project trying to find a hidden treasure. Once he apologizes and starts on this little adventure with Presley does he realize that his feelings for Presley never changed. But will Presley give him another chance and let their love take them on new adventures or will she simply love on after their job is done?

This second chance romance is one of the best I have read so far. You simply will not be disappointed and will want to uncover the treasure they find.

Chemistry: 🧪🧪🧪
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 🧐😕😍😗

The heroine(s): Presley - ten years ago she was in love with Hunter. They daydreamed about living on vacation in the tropics. Since then Presley becomes an archery markswoman and an art historian who writes a book about the most famous art forgery’s. However, her book didn’t sell and she isn’t feeling too great about her life.

The Hero(s): Hunter - he fell in love with Presley after a stint in the military, but had hopes for his future. He is an adventurer and wants to travel the world. When he gets a job offer leading several long expeditions for a billionaire who wants to remain nameless, Hunter leaves Presley and goes off to begin his new life.

The Story: Hunter left Presley to start a mysterious job with a secretive billionaire. Years later he becomes famous for saving that man on one of the highest mountains in the world. Soon after that he is starring in his own popular adventure series and has written more than one best sellers on his experiences. Presley can’t seem to get away from him even though he is a world away living the life of action and extreme sports.

When Presley is offered the opportunity of a lifetime she is hard pressed to refuse. Finding out that the person hired to work for her is none other than Hunter is not exactly good news to Presley. This series seems to have a great premise and a lot of places to go from here.

The narration was done by Scott Eastwood (*Swoon), and Andi Arndt. I love Andi Arndt, who always gives a stellar performance. She sounds intelligent and has nice rhythm. Scott Eastwood does a great job, though you can tell he isn’t as used to being a book narrator as some of the other narrators that do this for a living. I’m sure if he does a few more he can get better at cadence, tempo and inflection for book narration. However, I have to admit he is a hottie and it is nice to be able to put a face like that to the character like this. Overall I really enjoyed it and hope he does more in the future!

Caution: When reading have a box of tissues at the ready.

Hunter, a successful T.V adventure star, and Presley, an art enthusiast, took us on an adventure with them as they solved the mystery of the letters. Finding the letters helped them both to realize that love can conquer all. With some plotting behind their back, we see a chemistry between the two characters is off the charts. Sweet, romantic, and an honest to goodness treat to read. Lauren Blakley has brought some sunshine into my house with her romance filled book.

When Audible Original offered me a chance to listen to P.S. It's Always Been You narrated by Scott Eastwood and Andi Arndt, I had to say yes. I wanted to see how Scott Eastwood could bring the male character, Hunter Armstrong to life.

Scott has a smooth voice and I enjoyed listening to him. Andi does an amazing job of narrating the female character, Presley. She makes it upbeat and with great intonation depending on the circumstances.

The novel is divided into 3 parts. It's a second chance romance which is one of my favorite types of books. On the other hand, Serials are not.

Presley and Hunter were once in love until Hunter got a job proposition he couldn't say no to. He leaves a broken-hearted Presley behind.

A decade later, Hunter is famous all over the world. He has published books and is on TV constantly while Presley's life seems to be in a standstill, working a job that was not her first choice.

When they are brought together on a work project, sparks start flying.

Enjoyable romance with good narrators. It left me wanting to listen to the rest.

What do you get when you put together Hunter, a sexy adventure junkie, and Presley, an equally sexy history guru? A love affair, a breakup, and perhaps a second chance.

Hunter and Presley are thrust together professionally several years after their breakup--to unlock a mystery that takes their professional expertise to solve. Both having baggage from their breakup, they try to make the best of their situation and work to solve the mysteries before them. With the relationship in the past, and not quite knowing each other now, Hunter and Presley wade through getting back to knowing each other again. I really enjoyed the depth of their relationship, both past and present, and can't wait to have more from them.

I absolutely devoured this audiobook! Scott Eastwood and Andi Arndt are awesome narrating this beautifully sweet beginning of what I know will be a great trilogy. You'll definitely recognize some of the other characters; I love when Lauren does that.

Once again Lauren Blakely is bringing the big guns. Scott Eastwood? Dayum. His voice is smooth like cream with a little roughness that works perfectly for this ragged, adventurer. His narration talent is raw but with a couple more books under his belt he'll be irresistible and awesome. I think I don't need to talk about Andi Arndt at this point. She always delivers.

In the first part of this trio of books we meet Hunter and Presley. Ten years ago Hunter left the woman he was madly in love with in a callous way for...wait for it...a job. I couldn't even fathom Presley's anger and Hunter and I weren't off on a good start. Now, another job brings them back together and I could totally see why Presley fell for this restless traveler. He has that kind of charm that makes you feel like the center of his universe. Or maybe it's just Scott Eastwood's narration that makes you feel that way. Presley still feels the sting from Hunter's leaving her like that and on the outside his charm doesn't work on her. On the inside though she's fighting the attraction and old feelings that flared up the moment she saw him again. But it's not only Presley remembering their love.
So now I hope that this man has wisened up over the last ten years and makes Presley the center of his life instead of chasing the next high with his adventures. We'll see about that in the next installments - Hunter has the potential to become a new favorite book boyfriend.

One thing that bothers me is that this book that would be a full length novel is split in three parts. I find this a little excessive and I don't really see a hood reason for this. But oh well. I enjoyed the first part quite a bit so I'll jump right into part 2!

Overall 4 stars
Performance 3.5-4 stars
Story 3.5 stars

This was a fun and quick listen. There isn't a painful cliffhanger at the end, but listeners should note that the story is broken into three parts. In this first installment we meet Hunter and Presley, who after an intense, but brief romance, reunite 10 years later on a project for work. The reason behind the separation isn't my favorite, but I'm always a sucker for a second chance romance. Throw in a little forced proximity, humor, and mystery and I'm sold. Andi Arndt is wonderful as always and this was my first time hearing Scott Eastwood narrate. Overall, I enjoyed both their performances, but I did find Scott Eastwood a bit monotone. He didn't have a lot of variation in his voice and it didn't seem to change regardless of who/what character was speaking. It made distinguishing between characters slightly difficult. I'm excited to see where the story goes and for the sparks to fly in the next installment.

For Hunter, Presley has always been the one that got away. Even though he was the one who ‘got away.’ He chose an amazing career changing opportunity over a relationship with her and has always wondered what could have been.

It’s been years since they last saw each other. When Presley is offered her own career changing opportunity the only catch is she will have to work with Hunter. She knows he has reached the pinnacle of his career and is very well known in the industry.

Seeing each other brings back all of those familiar feelings but these are overshadowed when they discover something that will truly change the course of their project.

Scott Eastwood and Andy Arndt are wonderful narrators and do a fantastic job of bringing this story to life.

3 "Priorities" Stars!

This was ok. Honestly, I had really high hopes for Scott Eastwood's narration and it was just ok. Not bad. Just... fine...

Plus Hunter was pretty self centered and Presley was about to cave. Even still, I will probably finish the series between reads.

The story is a tease of something more and that is exciting.
I kind of wished I had waited till all the parts were out to listen all together because even though I like Presley and Hunter I just kind of felt a little disconnected. Almost like we know they are going to get a second chance, which is my favorite kind of story, but for me I didn’t feel the chemistry and maybe that is just because we only got so much of the story as of now. Maybe that will come; I have hope because I usually love Lauren unique and quirky stories.

I enjoyed Andi’s performance but Scott’s narration was a bit slow I had to bump the speed up for his parts, that is not to say I didn't enjoy his voice because I did. He kind of just sounds like he is reading a script as with Andi she gives us emotion and inflection bringing Presley to life.

I am excited to see what the next two parts bring.

Pluses, it was a free and short listen. Andi Arndt is fantastic as always, but Scott Eastwood, even though he has a nice tone of voice it’s completely flat on his narration. The story is interesting, but the characters are not, Presley is boring and Hunter is super self absorbed.

This book was fine. I always want to like Lauren Blakely books more than I do. They have a lot of potential, she creates really likable characters in interesting situations, but lately, I feel like the books I’ve read by her have been somewhat lackluster.

She comes out with a TON of books per year and it makes me wonder if maybe if she focused on writing fewer – and perfecting those – then maybe they’d be a lot better.

With that being said, I really do appreciate how much she is involved in the making of her audiobooks – and how much she loves on her narrators. She’s really in touch with the audiobook world which is nice because I feel like it gets neglected by authors more often than not.

* I received an audio code to review this audio from publisher and I am voluntarily leaving this review.*

I love a good second chance romance and Lauren Blakely is one of my favorite authors so of course I jumped at the chance to review this audiobook. Presley and Hunter used to date ten years ago but went their separate ways. They are forced to reunite for a project. As always Andi Arndt did a great job with her performance of Presley. Scott Eastwood did better than expected but at times I felt he was a little monotone and needed some more passion especially towards the end. I am very curious to see what happens in the next installment and I would recommend this audiobook. It’s a good start to a new series.

I am a hit or miss reader of Lauren Blakely's work. This book (pffft, PART of a book) was just not appealing to me. I think part of my issue was narrator related, which I'll get to in a sec. As it happened, I continued to listen while I worked on other things, so I didn't put my full focus on it after the first 1.5 hours. I did go on to listen to part 2 while I finished up working. Part 2 got interesting once a "mystery" was introduced and the sexual tension increased. At the end though, I didn't feel like I was missing much not to go on to Part 3. Oh well.

Narrator Andi Arndt is always fabulous. This was the first time I've heard Scott Eastwood narrate, though. He's got a great voice, but his pacing and cadence were choppy. He has a slower wpm rate with a style of pausing too long at times in the middle of a sentence. Usually I would increase the listen speed to 1.25 to offset that, but then Andi's chapters were way too fast. I think he starts the story off, so listening to the full audio sample should give you a fair example to see if it would bother you. In Part 2, Saskia Maarleveld and Zachary Webber also have small parts, and both do great.

This story is broken into 3 parts, each around 1/3 of a normal book. That annoys me to no end, but since I had access to all 3 at once I overlooked the cliffhanger endings.

So I really enjoyed this, although it did leave off at a big part, which I get, it is supposed to! Now, this was an audiobook, and had Andi Arndt narrating the character Presley, awesomely as she always does. And Scott Eastwood narrated the male character, Hunter. And unfortunately, there’s my biggest gripe with this. It’s not that he has a bad voice. No, I actually really like his voice. But oh my gosh, does he need to learn how to read aloud! He pauses at all the wrong times, and speeds through places where there should be pauses and emphasizes words or syllables that should not be. It wasn’t anything I could fix with speeding it up, but I muddled through his parts because it was a good story at least. I think it might be his first audioboook narrating experience? So maybe he can talk to some more experienced readers, like Joe Arden, Sebastian York, etc., and get some help?

I’m torn— I feel like this series has a lot of potential, but Scott Eastwood’s narration of Hunter’s chapters makes it so difficult to enjoy the audio, I almost abandoned it on multiple occasions. If I could’ve gotten the whole series in kindle format, I’d have switched without question. But since the audiobooks are included in my Audible Escape membership, I continued listening. The book itself does seem good, although it’s hard to say for sure, since I’m finding the narration so distracting. On the plus side, Andi Arndt is fantastic as always, and I’m hoping her performance as Presley can carry me through the remaining two books.

This is the first of three short stories that create one full length book and story line. This is the first 12 chapters of the story. Interesting characters who were once involved and are now thrown back together through a work obligation. Could you work with someone who tossed you away without a thought breaking your heart? Interesting to see how they interact and react. Great dual narration on the audio helps bring the characters and story more fully to life. I'm intrigued enough to keep reading or rather listening to see what happens next!

I’m not usually a sucker for second-chance type stories. But when you’ve got Scott Eastwood narrating… a girl really can’t say no!

This ends with a really interesting cliff hanger, pretty much just a quick set up to the other two parts, building that tension between lost loves. I’m interested to see where their story goes in parts 2 and 3!
