Laszlo Liszt has always been a lucky man.

He’s handsome and rich. His job as a fashion photographer kept him busy dating models and actresses. But all good things end. Just when he feels how empty his life has become, he discovers he has a month-old daughter who’s been abandoned by her mother.

Everything changes, everything’s different. But still, everyone tells him he’s a lucky man. His life is better and yet something’s missing.

He’s in love with his neighbor, Mira. She’s not like anyone he’s ever known and just the type of woman he overlooked in the past. She’s smart, but sweet. Hardworking and uptight, but all heart. Beautiful but unassuming. He knows he doesn’t deserve her but he’s in love for the first time ever.

After a year of raising his daughter alone, can he push his luck one more time and win the girl of his dreams?

This is a single dad romance, the first standalone in a series of three. A sweet, steamy romance with no cheating and a guaranteed happy ending.

Matilda is a Texas girl in love with a Philly boy who loves to write dirty books about two people who trip into love and fumble their way into a Filthy, Funny, Happily Ever After.

I live in Austin, with my husband, two crazy Chihuahuas and an even crazier cat. And I spend most of my day writing dirty romance books about older men who fall in love with younger women and make fools of themselves trying to win their hearts.

If you love Dark Romance, you’ve come to the wrong place. I don’t like dark heroes.

I like my hero to be successful, sweet, suave, sophisticated and kind--- and then I want him to lose all his composure and game when he meets the heroine. I want him to turn into a bumbling idiot when he spots the girl of his dreams and revert to a teenage boy in a man’s body trying to win her.

I like my heroines to be witty, intelligent, and unshakeable---who could do just as well without a man—until the hero convinces her otherwise.

I write A LOT OF AGE GAP--because I LOVE AGE GAP ROMANCE. I’ve got no other excuse for it.

No matter what kind of story it is, my ladies are ADORED, and my endings are always Happily EVER AFTER, not HFN.

Getting Friendly with the Neighbor

4.5 stars - It's a comedy of errors as Laz tries to woo Mira, his neighbor. Thankfully, his one year-old daughter Alice is on the case! 👶 She's his saving grace as he makes one blunder after another.

This story is so cute! 😍💚♨ Laz maybe a borderline stalker but he quickly recognizes that there's something special about Mira. They have an easy chemistry that is a thrill to read. Add in their respective families, great banter and teasing, and possibly too much honesty on occasion and you've got chuckles and some eye rolling (mostly centered around their families in a fun, they mean well way). I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

She is to young..........but she's got great lips that he can't resist!!!

Laszlo, aka Laz, is definitely one very luck man and he knows it. He is 36 years old and a successful fashion photographer in NYC. But there is one thing missing that would make it life complete............his beautiful young neighbor.
A year ago Laz was on a boring date when his crazy ex (two weeks together and one restraining order later) walks into the bar and dumps a baby on him along with the paperwork to end her parental rights. Apparently he is a father and did not even know it. Now he has a one month old beautiful little girl named Azalea. Let''s just say that this pretty confirmed bachelor who has sampled the smorgasbord of NYC models and beautiful women is way out of his depth. But one year later and his a confirmed Daddy to little Alice, yep he changed her name when he completed the paperwork. He loves his little girl and does not have the time to even think about dating until his older brother Jakob mentions his sweet little neighbor and says if Laz is going to ask her then he will, after all Jakob wants a wife and babies to go along with his billions and company. Laz has a visceral reaction and decides to finally do something and get Alice a mommy and him a bed mate.
The beautiful neighbor is Mirabella, Mira, and at 23 years old she has already started a successful company and is not looking for a man. But her parents keep trying to push her to find someone and get baby-making before it is "to late".
But Laz and Mira have been "waving" neighbors since she moved into the building, but then again she really only waves with Alice. So if Laz is going to get Mira then he has to enlist his sweet little girl to try and reel her in. Alice unequivocally does her job and creates an opening between them which Laz jumps on. He is a man who immediately knows what he wants and goes about getting it. But he is also so unpolished that it is funny to read, along with his inner dialogues in real time. Mira is not much better as she does not have real experience with "MEN" and Laz is 100% Certified all MAN!

Matilda Martel once again has written a completely captivating story which you can imagine actually happening. It is a miracle that Laz and Mira get together as they are both bumbling and funny but yet they fit together perfectly. The secondary characters of Laz's brothers, Jakob 41 and Kris, and Mira's 21 year old sister Daria, add to the story and are great in their own right. One of the funniest scenes in the book involves Daria and Jakob being caught like teenagers when they are babysitting Alice. This one had me laughing out loud!!! I can't wait to read the brothers stories that are to come.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own but I hope they help you to pick up this fantastic book.

With the risk of sounding repetitive I just have to say that I absolutely love, love, love, this book. Yet another fantastic read by Matilda Martel. This newest series features the sexy Liszt Brothers. This book is a surprise single daddy romance. Laszlo discovers he’s a dad when an ex hook-up shows up at the bar and dumps his one month old adorable daughter on him. Laszlo takes to his newfound fatherhood like no one‘s business and becomes a great dad. A year later he meets his sexy new neighbor Mira and he falls hard. What I love most about this story was Laszlo’s blatant and unashamed use of his daughter Alice to land his woman. She is the scene stealer of the book and I just love the way he uses his daughter to get to Mira. Ladies, you definitely need to add this book to your TBR list. I’m looking forward to the other books in this series. Thanks again Matilda, for another great book.

I wanted just a short novella for today. It is saying something that I only got through half a book that only takes 3 hrs to read.
To start Lazlo is a freaking stalker. I mean he’s followed this woman from her apartment (next to his) all they way to her office. Got on the subway and everything. And not just once. He did that a couple of times. That’s just beyond creepy. They hadn’t even introduced each other. He only knows her name cause he stalks her Social media EVERY DAY. FOR MONTHS.
Then we are introduced to Mira who’s a grown adult and calls her dad “Daddy”. I’ve never liked that. It always creeps me out a little. I know that’s just my personal opinion so I thought eh I’ll give this book a try. Turns out she’s a virgin who had an affair with a married man? “It was painful. He was twice my age. A friend of my father’s. It didn’t last long. Things grew complicated due to his divorce taking so long. It ended nearly a year ago. I suppose I’m over it.”
And I’m done

I loved this expanded version of Lucky Man. I had read and reviewed the original version and really loved that version also. The story is basically the same with new scenes, some rewrites and two new epilogues. It was a fun and sexy story back in 2019 and with this version Matilda Martel has only amped it up even higher so your smile is larger, you laugh out loud louder and your Kindle is smokin' more. I adore this author's writing and story-telling styles and with the Liszt Brothers series, Lucky Man and Clever Girl she has hit it right to the heart.

What a charming novel! The book is a steamy hot, yet endearing story about Mira and Laszlo who live in the same apartment block and pined for each other for several months. Laszlo is presented with his baby daughter during a drink with friends and his life understandably changes forever as he is required to become sole carer of baby Alice. There is so much self-confession on the part of our heroes that we can’t help but keep our fingers crossed that they find each other and will have the chemistry that will compel them to give their relationship a real chance. Mira first falls in love with baby Alice and Laszlo comes a close second. Both characters are really well described and were developed enough for us to feel empathy for them and wish that they find each other. Their relationship is progressing fast, without any pretence, any drama, or tactical delay. They realise that they are it for each other and progress to their HEA without any power issues, so often clouding relationships. There are a few really steamy hot sexy scenes which are part of their story, rather than just put there for the sake of including sex into the story. Their feelings for each other vibrate through the pages. The book is a page-turner, very entertaining and due to its unique style, so easy to read. Superb editing enhances the experience. The supporting characters were so well introduced that I am very keen to read the story of the rest of the Liszt brothers.

Laszlo is a photographer whom is thrown into single fatherhood unexpectedly but he takes it on and is a good father to his little girl Alice. He has no time for a woman or to date but he thinks his neighbor Mira is pretty and she is thirteen years younger. And Lazslo has needs and plans to use his beautiful little girl to get the attention of Mira. Alice needs a mother and he needs a woman.

And Mira needs a daddy for her puppy Bruno but is so busy with her business she doesn’t think she has time for a relationship .

What I really loved about this story and I’m not going to lie but a single father raising and loving his young child that’s the main reason why I decided to read this one. The romance between he and Mira is the bonus. I also loved her character she’s young and smart and has her own business and is a sweetheart. Can’t wait to see what is next for the brothers of Laszlo. Great determination from Laszlo for his next door neighbor Mira. Love that he stepped up and became that elusive full time Daddy. Wonderful in showing the care and love for his little girl and figuring out what is really important in life. So fun to see this storyline play out and the characters that will come out in rest of the series.

Lucky Man

This was a pretty quick read but I really loved the story. I can’t wait for the rest of the series because you can already see how they’re going to be linked. It was kind of an Insta love romance but since it took quite some time for the main characters to actually speak to each other it was also a bit of a slow burn. I love the chemistry between the main characters and how easy it was for them to bond over the baby.

Sweet story on playboy falling for accomplished woman next door. A good story on how a playboy had long way changing his life into a (single) fatherhood and chasing his One. Sweet quick courting romance with spatk of steaminess here and there. No drama and quite warming stories about compromise and family; instant family.

Lucky Man: A Single Dad Romance
Liszt Brothers #1
Written by: Matilda Martel

I was scrolling through my bookstagram feed and I saw a book cover of a man sitting with a baby sleeping on his chest and he looked relaxed and the baby as most babies do had her hands around what she could touch of what I assumed was her fathers chest. I stopped and read the entire post and there was something inside that called to me, it said “you need to read this today!”
So I hopped over to Amazon and one clicked this book.

I did not put it down until I finished. Normally I take notes when I read books, I didn’t take one note. I highlighted, I read some things twice and I moved inside this book to take it all. What I got was a touching story about a man who had no idea he was a father and was handed his month old daughter in a bar one night. Who stepped up and made plans for his little girl and himself. That was the draw for me.

He also had a really good sense of humor. In fact the whole book had a good sense of humor and that was the other thing that held me captive. The humor the two main characters brought to this story.

Laszlo Liszt might have been going through a mild life crisis the night baby Alice walked (ok was carried) into his life, but it was the challenge he needed and maybe the battery that turned on his inner light to realize he was ready to settle down. He had the baby, now he needed the wife/momma for himself and baby Alice.

Then there is the object of his affection, Mirabella (Mira) James. Younger than Laz (by 13 years) but the CEO of her own business and what Laz didn’t know, one of Alice’s biggest fans. Well when it came down to it, one of Laz’s as well.

There were peripheral characters, which added to the humor but were there mostly for Laz, so you have another reason to check out more of Matilda Martel’s books. If there was angst I didn’t notice. There were two people who loved a little girl and ended up realizing they loved each other. Laz pretty much decided he was going to marry Mira after their first “date.” What we do get is a very hot, steamy relationship that doesn’t overshadow the story of a man, a woman, and a baby and yes even a dog.

It was a quick read. It will touch each reader in a different way and when I finished I knew this single dad story was exactly what I needed today.

Laz finds out that he is a dad when his stalker of a hook up tracks him down when he is on a date. He is starting to settle in to fatherhood when his brother suggests that he thinks about dating again. That's when he thinks about Mira his neighbor and starts setting up ways to run into her. Mira's parents are worrying about her when they learn that her health is at risk from the stress she under at work. So they tell her that maybe she should think about finding a man to share her life with. Its not long before Mira and Laz start seeing each other after little Alice draws her in. Sparks fly between them and things heat up between them. Will Laz be able to convince her to take a chance on him? Can they have a future together?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Sometimes when you think you have everything you realize you are missing the most important things. Laz is a fashion photographer, he dates models and actresses he has money and is hot. He finds out that he has a daughter that the mother abandoned, so he spends time raising his daughter and then realizes he wants someone else in his life. He is in love with his neighbor a wonderful woman named Mira, who has noticed him also. Mira is not like the other women he dated she is witty and is kind hearted. He tries to woo her but that is an epic fail, but eventually he and his daughter make his dreams come true. The interaction feels real and the story progressed nicely. Loved the book.

I liked the premise but Lazlo was not my favourite hero by a long shot. He was a dirty manwhore who got bored of his manwhoring ways, had a crazy ex-girlfriend who he hadn't seen in a year (he had to get a restraining order) but somehow she dumps a one month old baby on him. How? Anyway, then he stalks the heroine in a creepy fashion. I can deal with stalking if there is something redeeming about the hero and I like him but I didn't like Lazlo. In fact the more the story went on the more I disliked Lazlo. I thought Mira could do better. In fact I was more interested in what was going on between Lazlo's brother and Mira's sister and I stopped reading to go and find that story.

Laszlo Liszt recognizes that he is a lucky man, even if his life is a little bit empty. At 36, he is a fashion photographer in New York. When his crazy ex abandons a one-month-old daughter on him that he didn’t even know about, his life goes a little nuts. After raising his daughter for a year by himself, only one thing is still on his mind. He would love to start a relationship with his young neighbor, Mira. Creating a real family would give him everything he needs in his life. Would she open her heart to him and his little girl? Or would she walk away from the complications?

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book and I really enjoyed it.

This story is an entertaining older man/ single daddy romance. Laszlo was handed a one month old baby and was told she yours, bye.....
He has crushed on his younger neighbor since she moved in and now he's managed to talk her into a date. Liz and Mira make a wonderful couple, sizzling chemistry between them. I loved how Mira took to baby Alice. Sweet story.

This has to be my favourite of all of Matilda’s books which I could t put down not once. This is a insta, fast paced single father romance. This book has all the swoon feels that made me sit down and read it in one go. When laszlo is left with a baby his life changed dramatically, gone are the days where he could do anything he wanted. Now his life was centered around this beautiful little girl which he finds as a blessing, like something was missing. Mira is a independent ceo of her business who doesn’t know how to relax and is in awe of the father with the little baby she’s been watching from afar.

While his life revolves around Alice he watches the beautiful young neighbour that he wants to date but doesn’t know how to approach her. Laszlo is adorable, very alpha, cheeky and uses his daughter to get to spend time with Mira. The more time they spend together the more the feelings grow and you feel that oozing off the pages.

I laughed, I smiled, swooned, I fanned myself, these two have this chemistry which keeps building and I was left with a content smile. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series and look forward to more books by Matilda Martel.

I received an arc to give an honest opinion and I’d gladly read it over and over again.

This was good! I really liked how Laz was doing his best at being a single dad, raising the daughter he had had with a former one-night-stand who had then taken off and abandoned the child a year earlier when the baby was only one-month-old. That immediately spot-lighted him as a man of character and someone that I would want to read more about. Ditto with Mira, his next-door neighbor whom he had been wanting to get to know oh, so much better for a long time even if she is younger than he was. There is no real conflict for them to have to overcome or a miscommunication caused by a misunderstanding of any kind or a lot of needless angst to be found in the story. It is a lovely romance about an every-day couple that was beautifully written!

First my usual points:
- I do not do spoilers unless warned.
- Read the summary above; it will tell you what the book is about. I will not reiterate.
- This is a standalone
- There were no errors that I recall
- The author was new to me

This is a bit of an age gap romance, which I am not a fan of. However, the story was well told and the age gap was not a large issue. What I liked was that the characters were not damaged, or haunted, or overly chipper - they were just average but successful people wanting another to experience life with. One of them just happened to be a parent. I enjoyed it and would consider other titles by the author.

He thought he had it all. A career he loved that opened doors for him socially, intimatly
and finacially.
He lived for today and loved it, until one day he opened his eyes and realized he was blind to life, to reality.
Something was missing.
Then he is blindsided with the news that one if his meaningless hookups produced something that brought meaning back in life, he was a father. He was bound and determined to raise his child alone. He did not miss the ɛarties, the women or the life he set aside.
