This is a cute little steamy novella that was okay to me. :)
Mathias has always been a work work work type of guy has no time for anything also perfect boyfriend alpha in my eyes, coming down into town few times he sees some random guy asking questions about someone and when he sees the picture he's found his true love. He just doesn't know where she is until he bumps into her dodging one of the flirts in town. As for Astrid shes sorta running away? All she knows is that her step-father is an ass and shes hiding out trying to live her life in the woods thats how she meets Mathias for the 2nd time when he finds her camping and almost eaten by a bear. The chemistry is 🔥 between the two as he carrys her back to his place already telling her what he plans to do to her. Keep her safe, happy and protected.
No ow/om drama (unless you count the stepfather), no cheating, Slight secondary charas, sexy times, Drama, both virgins

Another cute and spicy story by Dani Wyatt!
Mathias and Astrid meet accidentally, they actually bumped into each other. But Mathias has become immediately smitten and infatuated. Astrid is running from the sadness and devastation in her life, and decides to live off the grid for a while. But she has an encounter with a growly man, and an actual bear, and this starts the beginning of the end for both of them.
Dani's Mountain Men are large beyond belief, and so enraptured with the woman they meet, it's instant love and these men don't let go once they have their women in their arms.

A sweet and really really hot story with DV(freaking love that 😍 😍😍). Mathias was so sweet and hot the perfect mix. He fell head over heels for Astrid and wouldn't let go from day 1. This story had sweetness, action and steamy scenes. Totally safe with a sweet HEA. I really loved the epilogues👍👍 A must read story if you like hot and possessive mountain men that wait for their one and only.❤

It was love at first sight for me when it came to the cover on this book. Serious swoon moment may have occured the first time I saw it, and everytime after.
Mathias was idea book boyfriend material for me: reclusive mountain man who had secret talents, was secretly well off and oh yeah that gorgeous house he built. Bonus points for being growly, alpha and possessive.
The fact that Mathias and Astrid had a bit of an older man/younger woman thing going...yup another favorite of mine, so of course I enjoyed that.
Astrid being able to handle herself in the wilderness and being a bit of a tough chick was also a favorite for me.
My only dislike from this book was how overplayed the "Mathias is a 36 year old virgin" angle was, it was mentioned A LOT and for me it was off putting. I'm already not a fan of DV or V story lines but for the right author and right book I still read them...this was one I obviously wanted to read but could have done with that angle being scaled back a bit.

I love every book Dani writes each story is captiving right from the beginning.
This book was no different.

Straight Cut has it all. A little intrigue, a little hint of a dangerous past, a sweet and sassy heroine, and a growly as all heck hero all wrapped up in a satisfying book.
Ms Wyatt manages to make two virgins sexy as all heck and boy, for a virgin, Mathias sure knows what he's doing. And as Mathias said: "Who knew I could be such a filthy talker? Virgin, smirgin." I liked Mathias from the start. He doesn't care what people think of him and he goes his own way. He keeps to himself but has a small circle of friends he likes and trusts. With Astrid, he's possessive, protective, and somewhat over the top stalkerish with how obsessive he gets with her. It's sexy as heck to read.
Astrid is a spunky gal. She's young but she's got her head screwed on straight. She's a little bit sassy when she's feeling confident, and she's got a spine of steel and not afraid of challenges. She might be running from her problems while trying to figure things out but she's no shrinking violet. I liked that Astrid could hold her own against someone as domineering and overwhelming as Mathias. Of course, it helps that he's a complete pussy cat around her and will do anything for her.
I'm having a lot of fun with this series of Ms Wyatt's especially since I love mountain men and this satisfies my mountain man obsession right now. I can't wait for more books in the series.

I really loved this story. Its like a cross between Jessa Kane and Alexa Riley. My two favorite authors. Mathias is a virgin who is the perfect mix of sweet and OTT alpha and I wish the rest of the men in this series was like him. He was proud of the fact he was a virgin and waited for Astrid. And one of my pet peeves in DV stories is when the hero doesn't mention the fact he is a virgin or says like one line stating his is. Not this one, no sir not this book and I am here for it!
Astrid is also a virgin(shocker there, wink wink) but I really liked her. She was funny, sweet and had a backbone, and she wasn't annoying which I appreciated! I've read a lot of books and none of them has compelled me to write a review like this. I usually knock off a star or two from dual virgin books because I find something that I really didn't like and can't give it a five star rating. But I just couldn't find anything worth knocking off a star.

Absolutely loved this one!!! Dani knows just how I like my men Huge, Growly, Alpha AF, Possessive and Obsessive and Mathias has all of those qualities. Mathias normally keeps to himself, but on his latest trip to town he's shown a picture of his future, and with one look he knows the Beauty in the picture was meant for him. Astrid is on her own, having lost her mother and running from her horrible step-father she has decided to get back to her roots and heads out to the great outdoors until she can figure out a plan for her future. Finding Astrid in the woods was fate and Mathias was not going to let her go ever, and some how Astrid felt safe, new that he would not hurt her. His response of " I don't hurt what is mine. I hurt what hurts what is mine." was not only heart melting but panty melting as well. These two were perfect for each other and I loved their connection and attachment to one another. Great read!! and I can't wait to see what Dani has in store for us next.

I have to say, I am sooo glad this was dual virgin. I loved how, even though he was in his 30's, he saved himself for his one. Realistic? Maybe not. But do we really read for the reality of it? Not this girl. Heck, if that was the case, who would read about wolf and bear shifters or aliens coming to impregnate earthlings...c'mon.
Anyway, back to this book. I, for one, immensely enjoyed watching them discover each other, having been with no one else before. He was so OTT and possessive. And I loved that he teared up when he thought she was hurting. Swoon!

I loved this story of Mathias, a huge, growly, scowly mountain man and Astrid, a capable, smart, girl on the run; and not just because they were both virgins. Although Astrid was hiding from her stepfather, she was no damsel in distress (I REALLY would have liked to see her use the crossbow...just sayin), even if Mathias was determined to be her knight protector.
As usual, the chemistry was off the charts, and the hero was uber alpha while still being sweet. I tend to prefer my heroines to not be naive or a doormat, so Astrid definitely got my approval. Overall, this was a quick, steamy sweet read and I really enjoyed it. I generally enjoy all this author's works, but would love to see more heroines in this vein.

Mathias is a reclusive artist/mountain man and he has remained celibate until he found the one. All it took was one look and they were vowed to be it for each other. Their story is fast paced, with incredible chemistry that will melt your heart and kindle. This is the story of true love and as Dani Wyatt so perfectly concludes it - it was the beginning of the perfect love story! I honestly volunteered to review this amazing story by a great storyteller!

STRAIGHT CUT is the 4th standalone book under the Men In The Woods Series . Astrid came running to the woods to escape his stepdad. When she saw Mathias , she was astonished at his sheer size. On the other hand, he knew that Astrid was meant to be his from the moment he saw her photo and that he would protect her at all costs.
This book was explosive! Double vigins , with opposite personalities but they were perfect for each other . I loved Mathias! He was a dominant who had a sweet tooth and other endearing traits. FLOVED this !

I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. Gotta love an alpha woodsman who has impressive wood...furniture. Mathias never thought about having a woman in his life, ever. He may be big and burly, but he’s never slept with a woman. Astrid is on the run from her stepfather and camping in the woods. When Mathias sees Astrid’s photo his whole world changes. Finding her in the woods, he saves her from a bear and brings her to his cabin. The sparks that fly between these two could cause a forest fire. Will these two get their happily ever after or will her stepfather take it all away? Recommend reading this one.

Ms. Dani did a fantastic job with this book! I fell in love with Mathis and Astrid. Mathis is completely alpha AF, who loves with his whole heart and Astrid is a sassy, bad to the bone female who is lost but luckily she was found! I loved these two chemistry and the banter between was hilarious! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great insta-love, DV, slightly different ending, and great HEA!

Wow! I love all of Dani Wyatt’s books but this one blows it of the park. Dual virgin, strong heroine and possessive AF mountain man. Mathias saw Astrid‘s picture while in town one day and become obsessed. Actually is there a level about obsessed? Because Mathias was it. Once he finds Astrid who is camping by herself trying to escape some circumstances she almost shoots him and he falls more in love. Astrid was such a strong heroine. These two together were HOT and steamy. Just wow. Read this book now!

Loved it
Mathias and Astrid story is beyond amazing. They both have never been with anyone. Now to some that may be surprising given this day and time. I loved that aspect. Like some people just won't be satisfied if its not the only person who they chose to spend the rest of their lives with. That is what I loved. As rugged as Mathias was and is. It was damn sexy. Astrid did remind me of Elsa from frozen. A few twists and turns plus a couple shady characters mixed into the book. All and all it was amazing and so glad I read the entire series.

This was the best out of the series for sure! The story was well developed although I wanted a little more action as far as the stepfather. I still don’t think I’ll ever love the whole loving someone who you met an hour earlier but I try to overlook that as far as my rating goes bc there are just so many instalove stories out there. The spice level was 4/5 IMO (although I’ve learned that rating is very subjective).

The is the fourth book in the series but the first for me. I didn’t need to read the others first but I have started the series from the beginning because I like it so much! I’m a big fan of the alpha-mountain man type genre and this was exactly that! Very sexy and quick read! 🔥I liked both characters and enjoyed their story and HEA.

Dani did not disappoint with Straight Cut, I was captivated from the very beginning of this couple's story. I felt soul deep reading the stepfathers actions, I wanted to hug Astrid and know she was ok. She gets her happily ever after in a sweet, swoony and angsty way with a reclusive mountain man that will protect and provide at all costs.
