You've Got Mail meets Grey's Anatomy in this sweet slow-burn, virtual meet-cute romance.

There’s so much going on in Anna’s life. Teaching countless hours at the studio and nurturing the three major relationships of her life – her group of tight-knit friends, all while attempting to not screw up this whole adulthood thing leaves very little time to waste on yet another dating app. At this point, a relationship is off the menu. Being “self-partnered” is more than enough.

A serious relationship has been crossed off Liam Brody’s list of goals, at least for the foreseeable future. Completing his residency and becoming a trauma surgeon is his only priority. Casual relationships, his friends, and books are the only things he’s willing to lose his precious free time to.

When an accidental email starts a deep online connection, both Liam and Anna dive in with zero concern . . . because there’s really no harm in getting close to someone who you’ll never meet in real life, right?

Wrong.

When a turn of events brings their “safe” virtual connection to an unexpected face-to-face, Anna and Liam learn their online chemistry pales in comparison to the real deal. A realization that brings along the bazillion-dollar question – what do you do when you meet The One at the most impossibly wrong time?

by Mist@ke is book 1 in a standalone series with connected characters, but independent storylines.

This book was so unexpected. You know when you watch a recs video and there are books that are recommended because they are heartwarming and just make you feel good? Well, I just couldn't see how I would like a book like that.
That was until I read this story. For the whole two days I was reading is, it just made me so happy. I loved this romance between Anna and Liam. They are both in a point of their life where a relationship is too much of a commitment. They become pen-pals when Liam sends Anna an email by mistake. And they slowly morph into friends and then some. There are a lot of things to like about this slow burn: the main characters, the banter, the side characters, the fact that this book was not cheesy at all. I loved the writing style.
As a side note, this is not a steamy read. The sex scenes are not explicit and are more fade to black. I love my steam but I didn't mind at all that there really isn't much here cause the story was amazing.
I would definitely recommend this book if you are in need of a pick-me-up.

Anna & Liam.
They don't know each other.
But they get to know each other through an email that accidentally lands on Anna's computer - and many more emails that will follow.
Liam is a doc who is about to leave for a Doctors without Borders trip and Anna is a fitness trainer about to buy her own studio.
Both don't have time for a relationship, so this online chatting is perfect for them at the moment ... right?

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH ANNA & LIAM?
WILL WE GET A HAPPILY EVER AFTER?
BUY THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

Adorable!

I really liked reading this.
It was funny, cute, sparky, informative.
I loved how we meet all the other girls and boys - we'll get their books next!
It was a bit too slow-burn-ish for my tastes. It was too much talk and not enough doing! LOL. I didn't care about all that yoga stuff or the health stuff or any of the redundant mentionings in the story - no idea why, but I just wanted to fast-forward a few times to finally get to where we get our HEA! But that was probably just my mood today. I had zero patience for redundant stuff. ☺
I still really liked reading this and I can't wait to see what the other stories will be like!

BY MIST@KE was an adorable and funny slow-burn romance! Please run to your nearest amazon for your own doctor Liam - this one is mine! MINE!!

A wonderfully slow, warm and heartfelt romance
“*** Don’t rush something that you want to last forever.***”

Liam Brody wants the entire relationship package. Just not now. He wants to get accepted at doctors without borders, and needs to finish his residency in order to become a trauma surgeon. He only has time for his friends and no strings relationships. When an email meant for a friend lands in a sassy woman’s inbox who signs off her emails with motivational quotes.
“I fell in like with you way before I was attracted to you. And the feeling only intensified as I got to know you better.”

Anna Nielsen spends her free time with her friends and works countless hours teaching yoga and Pilates. She wants nothing more than to get a loan approval for her own fitness studio and knows that once she gets it, it’ll be hard work to make it a success.
“My heart, at this moment, is so much bigger than its designated space inmy chest. It’s a million tons of moving mass, accelerating in all directions with the only thing that could stop it being this guy.”

In the meantime, getting to know the interesting guy who accidentally emailed her seems harmless. Until they meet in real life and they realize that their connection and chemistry are a thousand times better. But even though they know they’re perfect for each other, the timing totally wrong.
“It’s as if she’s the unspoken center of everything I do and am.”

I will expand on this list later, but I don’t want to forget anything, so here goes a quick list of things I loved about this book:
1. Anna’s concern for the environment and healthy living.
2. Anna’s overall personality and sense of self-worth.
3. The motivational quotes
4. Liam’s desire to make a difference and help others
5. The easy banter between Anna and Liam
6. Anna’s connection with her mother, sister and friends. Their love and support was moving.
7. The slow, delicious burn between Anna and Liam
8. The chapter’s titles

By Mistake is book #1 of the Poison & Wine series by author Sigal Ehrlich . It is a standalone, contemporary romance. Told from both points of view with a happy ending. Subgenres: Medical Romance | Women’s Fiction | Friends to lovers |

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

By Mistake was a such a fun book to dive into! In it, you will meet Anna and Liam. How they met was all kinds of awkward mixed with some adorableness. It all started with a random ass email. Now at this moment, I started to develop the 'You've Got Mail' vibes and I was here for it all. Why? Well, they were complete cute flirting via email. It was also pretty impressive that they didn't google search one another the entire time. My fingers would've been itching to do so.

Of course, these two had drama but the chemistry was there. Also, some lovely tension and bantering going on as well. They were also surrounded by amazing side characters. I laughed so much with the chicken girls and his friends. They were all equally hilarious and I'm so glad that we finally got to meet little shit!

In the end, this was all kinds of adorable and a very cute romance to fall in love with. If I ever cross paths with the second book, I will definitely dive into that book just to see who else is going to fall in love within this group of awesome friends. Also, can a wine place actually open and be called Poison and Wine? Or a bar? PLEASE!

This was my first read by Sigal Erlich, and now I am wondering why I haven't read any before.

This is a story of fate. Kismet. Destiny. Whatever you call it, it is in this story in spades. And I read stories like this in spades.

Anna and Liam are a-freaking-dorable. A mistaken email, online communicating and eventually meeting, you can't help but smile with them. Well, when you aren't getting peed off by Liam.

Anna is strong and fiesty and doesn't need no man.

It was a little slow going at times, but it never made me want to stop reading

I look forward to reading more of her stories in the future.

Wow!! This book is by far one of my top 10 romance books. I received an eARC thanks for NetGalley! It is the sweetest most perfect GAG until you turn blue love story. I was here for it. HERE👏🏼FOR👏🏼IT👏🏼
It is the sweetest love story between Anna a fitness instructor and Liam a trauma surgeon. They start their love story via an email that went awry and then meet up for coffee and it’s just perfect. There’s trials and tribulations but you just need them to work out. I even got teary eyed at some points because both of the characters seemed soo genuine. It was just such a weird/great feeling to get from a book. The author did an amazing job making this seem like an actual real perfect love story without someone being a billionaire and someone being a damsel in distress. This author wrote this novel AMAZINGLY. I am going to be reading as much as I can from her!

This was a cute adult romance...but maybe a bit too cute.

Look, I love romances but I guess I like them with a bit more going on. Anna and Liam are just too perfect. It kind of drives me insane when characters aren't more than characters. Did they have that one thing keeping them apart? Sure, but all romance books have that. There was really no character development because there was no development to be had. They were both on a set trajectory set by the author and nothing more.

I guess I like my characters to be more well-rounded.

And a heads up for those that might care:

There is tons of swearing including F-bombs
Ther is sex, but it's super mild. No throbbing veins here.
No trigger-warnings

A big thank you to NetGalley and the author for this ACR.

By Mist@ke by Sigal Ehrlich was very enjoyable to read.
Anna is a passionate fitness instructor in the process of taking over ownership of the studio she works at, which has always been a dream for her. Anna is extremely independent aside from her amazingly kooky group of friends. Liam, on the other hand, is a goal orientated Trauma Surgeon completing his residency, with a strict timeline when it comes to his career and relationships. One of Liam's main rules: I don't have time for a relationship, and nothing is going to change that until he's started a fellowship.

Liam is thrown for a loop when he accidentally sends an email meant for a long-time friend to Anna. Thanks to a "monthly challenge" put in place by Anna's group of friends, Anna replies to the email, and the two click immediately. Soon enough, Anna and Liam become each others main source of happiness, no matter how hard the day gets, which is no big deal, they're just harmless emails, both thinking nothing will happen. Everything changes when they realize they live in the same city. Upon meeting, they both realize that what was just an online connection is even more intense in-person. Liam and Anna both know they can't live without the other, their chemistry is simply too strong. What about Liam's career goals? No wife, no kids, not yet.

Fate steps in, and Liam has to decide what's more important; the life plan he's had for years, or the woman he knows is his end-all be-all?

Ehrlich captures readers in a story of undeniable love and unconditional friendship, You can't help but root for the quirky and relatable characters in this book. I can't wait to see what else she has in store as the Poison and Wine series continues.

4.5 Stars

By Mistake was a feel-good, light with little angst story. After receiving an email from an unknown sender, Anna got intrigued.  So, she replies, and there starts the flirty exchange between her and Liam. Two stranger who seems to hit it off wonderfully online. Will this undeniable chemistry continue on a face to face meeting?

This book is funny, romantic, and sexy (nothing explicit) with characters who will grow on you more as the story progress. It's a slow burn romance with a build from strangers to friends to lovers, perhaps? It's not the kind of romance that I'd read all the time but the author does a great job drawing me in with clever and witty dialogues. The writing style was engaging and the plot was well developed. If you're looking for a sweeter, lighter read you will definitely enjoy this playful, heartwarming story.

Note: Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC.

*I was given an advanced readers electronic copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for my honest review. *

by Mist@ke by Sigal Ehrlich was a thoroughly enjoyable to read. Anna is a teacher at a studio, who is working on getting a loan to buy the studio from the current owner. She is only focused on her friends and work. Meanwhile, Liam is a trauma surgeon resident at a nearby hospital. He has no time for a relationship and he makes that clear with anyone he's involved with. His sole focus is on becoming a trauma surgeon, then the wife and kids can come.

Liam's accidental email to Anna starts a deep online connection. They think nothing of it, as there's no way they'll meet, right? Wrong. They later find out they happen to live in the same city (what luck!) and find out their connection transfers well from online to in-person. They fall for each other, hard .

This throws a wrench in Liam's life plans. How can he start a relationship when he's never around? But how can he let her go? After all, she is the One .

I was so excited for this book because accidental online communication is one of my favourite tropes. In this book, Liam accidentally emails Anna when trying to contact his old friend and they strike up an online friendship, only to discover that they live in the same city.

The email situation wasn't used to the fullest potential in building a connection between the couple, but I still enjoyed the romance between Liam and Anna. It's definitely on the sweeter side, with just a few steamy moments, but I enjoyed the slowburn. The small amount of angst at the end as Liam tried to balance their relationship and his career was well written and kept me invested in the couple.

Unfortunately there were so many random scenes and text messages with Anna's friends that detracted from the romance. They were supposed to be amusing but got tiresome pretty quick, and I ended up skimming a few chapters. I know the author is trying to set this up as a series but I'm reading it for the romance, and until right at the end it felt like every scene with the couple was followed by two with their respective friendship groups.

Also definitely a minor thing but something that cropped up a few times: Anna's obsession with living a healthy lifestyle got annoying after a while. I get that it was an attempt to build a unique character and have Liam and Anna connect over something, but it came across as preachy and could have been toned down a little.

Overall this was just an okay read for me. There were definitely things I liked but the whole book could be improved with less focus on the side characters and more on the romance.

I seriously love the cover and title of Ehrlich’s latest offering. And although I’m not one to pay much attention to blurbs; the premise of By Mist@ke intrigued me no end. This contemporary medical romance has more than a sprinkling of good humour, reflecting the times we live in perfectly. The plot is by no means convoluted. Easy to get lost in, the unexpected twist kept me hoping and wishing that the protagonists would eventually find what they were looking for.

I’ve opened many an email from unknown senders but ooh boy, if only I’d been on the receiving end of such titillating content with such gorgeous attachments as Anna had! So, the to and fro of messages began. Kept guessing who was who and took the trouble to answer her sassy messages made me smile until I laughed-out-loud. I couldn’t wait for her to find out more. I adored Anna. Always positive, her savoir-faire attitude sold me lock, stock and barrel. Not only that, she has no pretentious bones in her body. Ambitious to a point, she takes what comes with a philosophy that made me think that perhaps we complicate our lives unnecessarily. I’d be more than happy to have a friend like her. Anna's friends thought she was the bee’s knees, too.

Gosh, Liam Brody! I certainly wouldn’t have minded being in Anna’s shoes. Or maybe not! I had to think twice about this comment since Anna’s going to come up against a brick wall. Frustratingly for her, scorching hot heat is thrown into the mix. Anna adopts for a worldly-wise line of preference and doesn’t rock the boat. Not forgetting that she’s my saint personified, how this trauma surgeon didn’t exasperate her socks off was beyond me. When he blows hot, he retraces his steps and blows deep-freezer below zero cold. But, and the big but! Liam has a heart of gold. Ladies and gents, I call dibs on this gorgeous, responsible and if not, confused soul of a man!

What Ehrlich drives home is what happens when careers goals become more important than the luxury of succumbing to personal feelings. High-pressured job dedication, the stress it causes, and a sense of doing the right thing regardless of consequences are in some cases, on the furthest side of happiness. Or could one’s ambitions be fulfilled by working towards a neutral ground? She made me see both sides of Liam’s dilemma. Anna saw it too. She accepted it without complacently and my heart broke into pieces.

Aboveboard secondary character development, scene-settings exactly how they had to be and brilliant banter makes this standalone a must-read. I cannot wait to for the next instalment where it all began, in Poison & Wine. Bravo, Ehrlich!

This book was really really cute. I gobbled it up. I love the trope! Accidentally communicating online and then meeting in real life? Ah-dorable. Sign me up, I will read them all. Another of my favorites: a group of best girl friends who love each other! This book has everything! (Channeling SNLs Stefon)

I enjoyed the story. I really loved Anna. She is strong and independent and knows who she is. She does not need a man. She is not looking for love. Anna is KILLING it in her career. She has the best friends. She's good.

I think Liam is adorable. He's all wrapped up in living his life in the order he laid out for himself. Best laid plans, and all that. I also want to slap him. He is so worried about the timing of everything, that he almost loses the best thing that ever happened to him. If he were my friend, I'd shake him.

The story is adorable, the plot is well laid out, and the characters are fun. I cannot wait for the next book.

A sweet tale of a wrong number (or email id in this case) romance! When Liam’s email which was meant for his friend finds itself in Anna’s inbox she couldn’t help but reply and hence starts a correspondence which soon turns into something more.

The meet cute was not really a meet but definitely cute! I liked how everything came into place, their online and offline lives. I loved the side characters in this one and was highly invested in each of their stories. The pace was fast and things escalated sooner than I would have expected but it was a fast and fun read.

Liam and Anna both were interesting characters with their passions and dreams. I liked how they both shared some interests but not all of them. I liked how they were both opinionated and not always agreed on a certain thing but knew how to respect that. The writing was good but it could have been better as at times the story didn’t progress much and I didn’t feel as strongly for the characters.

This was just a feel good book. Anna and Liam are busy and have no time for commitment, and yet, you see them getting closer without even realizing it. They looked forward to the random emails and then things progressed from there. Anna and Liam are both very independent and yet both have that close group of friends that I often enjoy in a book.

The premise of the book is one that sure grabbed my attention and being that this is my first time reading this author, the concept worked. Anna is a fitness instructor and Liam is a doctor trying to get on with Doctors Without Borders. But to me, the idea that they form this bond without really knowing what the other looks like and Liam even admitting early that he wants to marry her... lol. shows that their connection is so much deeper than a lot of other books.

By Mistake is my first book by Ehrlich but it certainly wont be my last. I was first intrigued by both the lovely cover and blurb of the book. Liam Brody is a doctor focusing on finishing his residency to become a trauma surgeon and get accepted at Doctors without Borders. Anna Nielsen is busy with her friends and teaching countless hours of yoga and pilates. She is hoping to get a loan to have her own fitness studio. As a result both are adamant that their busy and hectic lives will not allow for a relationship. After an errant email Anna and Liam’s relationship begins demonstrating how even when you’re not looking for love, love still finds you.

Anna and Liam’s relationship begins after an errant email from Liam pops into her inbox. From there we embark on a journey of seeing them blossom as they share more of themselves from their weird habits to their favourite films and podcasts.

So first things first: Anna. I absolutely adored this character from her sassy attitude to her her love of healthy living. The main thing that stood out to me about the character was her interaction with her girlfriends aka ‘the chickens’. I loved the girls’ group dynamic and also how close they were. They all have such different personalities but just fit. I found it quite endearing how good of a friend she is in the way that matters making me certain I would love to have a friend like her.
Liam, Liam, Liam. I might have just found a new book boyfriend. Funny, smart, kind and that’s right you guys he is a bookworm. Could not have asked for better ! The thing that stood the most out to me about Liam was his banter with both his friends and Anna that led to me laughing out loud more than a few times. One thing didn’t sit right with me was how hot and cold he was after they meet and how much he wanted to stick to his order of things. Made me want to yell at him but lets just forget that as otherwise he is perfect.

The book was also great plot wise and as expected from the hilarious back and forth email between them, Liam and Anna’s chemistry was off the charts. The only think that REALLY irked me was the SPAG errors at the beginning that made it quite hard to read. I’m glad I pushed through as I was in for a treat.

If you haven’t already figured it out yet, I’m a fan of the book. The whole accidentally meeting online trope really reminds of ‘you’ve got mail’ which is hands down one of my favourite movies of all time (if you haven’t seen it please do) so I knew it would be good.
If you guys want a slow burn contemporary romance that will have you laughing out loud I would definitely recommend this book

By Mistake is a standalone and #Book 1 in the Poison and Wine series. I for one cannot wait for the next instalment !

"When it works, all the rest is just noise."

I would like to thank the author for this e-ARC copy of her book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. ,

This is my first Sigal Elrlich book and my first finished read for 2021 - and it is a great start for a new reading year.

By Mistake is a very warm, lighthearted and slow burn romance about a ER resident and a fitness instructor who accidentally meet through a randomly sent email and forms a friendship around it. I'm not usually a fan of romance novels having an online dating plot, but this somehow works for me because it started off as an accidental friendship before turning something deeper. There wasn't any angst or lust at first sight going on with this novel, so I really enjoyed the wholesome budding friendship and romance it had. I just love how Liam and Anna 's online friendship blossomed, and I was giddy and excited for both of them. There were a few steamy parts towards the end, but this book is pretty much tame and fluffy.

The writing style and flow of the story are pretty straightforward, and while it was predictable, I still found myself reading quickly through this book to know what happens next to Liam and Anna. As a medical student, I really love that Liam is an ER resident, so I found myself empathizing him more because I understand his crazy schedules, his need to put his career first before his life ( because I'm the same), and that his personal life will always need to take a step back. Everything about him just resonates with me, so I found myself enjoying his character more, even though he did make a few very awful mistakes at the latter chapters. On the other hand, Anna was a fun oddball, and she matched Liam's pristine personality to a T. They're the type of characters you both root for separately and together. I also love their relationships with their family and friends, because those characters definitely brought more life into the story.

This book is just so good, and I can't wait to read the other ones in this brand new series.

What's better than having a close set of gal pals and an email sent to you by accident from a good-looking Surgeon? That's what this book is about and I really liked it. Anna, the beautiful fitness trainer and Liam, the gorgeous doctor meet after a time of sending emails back and forth. Lots of chemistry between these two.  I loved all the girlfriends, they are hilarious. And the Doctor - love everything about him except for one little, well kind of a big thing which is basically what the story is about. This is my first book by this author and I will definitely start reading her books.

After mistakenly receiving an email from handsome Dr Liam meant for someone else, Anna jokingly replies to the email. This begins an email friendship until they decide to meet face to face. They both have career commitments that keep them from having a serious relationship, but when their feelings turn from friendship to romance, they have to decide whether to make it work or end it.
This was a unique story with a good character build up. I was getting as frustrated as Anna by Liam's reluctance to take things out of the friend zone! It's a cute and heartwarming story.
Thank you to Sigal Ehrlich for the opportunity to read this sweet romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The views and opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

This to me felt like your every day Hallmark story. Where a workaholic finds that work isn't everything and that love was there all along. I have to say that for me it didn't feel like anything new was brought to the table with one. However, it was a cute little story. If you aren't looking for anything new in the way of a story. And you are just looking for a fun read then check this one out. I do like that each book is about new characters but they are still connected. It's a great way to do a series.

I loved the dynamic between Anna and Liam. Their chemistry poured off the pages and I love a good romance where the lovebirds meet by accident online or through a text, so this was great.
The drama was just enough to keep things interesting and the makeup was bliss. These two were meant to be!
I’d recommend this HEA romance.

RESEÑA EN ESPAÑOL - www.jossradillo.wix.com/storylinenews...

My thoughts:
This is a story of fate.

Okay, I'm writing this review and wondering why I haven't read anything by author Sigal Ehrlich. This is the perfect romantic comedy to start the weekend and the characters are so adorable.

Anna and Liam: they get mixed up over email, communicate online, and finally meet, you can't help but smile with them.

What happens between them are an eruption of emotion and pent-up desire that has been building for the long haul, literally. But every moment is so sweet and adorable that you can't help but fall in love with their story: a clash of long-distance, lack of time, searching for self, and insecurities. And before long, their feelings can't take the long-distance anymore. They must see each other and be together and decide whether to take a leap of faith? together.

Overall, #BYMISTAKE has been a real treat to read.

A little slow moving but once I kept going it picked up. A lot is going on in Anna’s life. Single, loving friends hoping to own her work out studio. What are the odds that a mistaken email changes Anna’s life in many ways. I enjoyed the story. My only criticism is it was a little long in getting to the point. What is going on with Liam and Anna. Good read, fast read.

I absolutely adored this cute little romance. In today's world of technology, it's so believable that something like this could happen. The chemistry between Anna and Liam was adorable, and Anna's friend group was such a great part of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would suggest this read to my romance enjoying friends!

3.5-4 stars. Anna and Liam meet by way of email correspondence, where Liam shoots off an email meant for his best friend and it lands in Anna's inbox instead. Anna, who happens to be ever the quintessentially polite and professional, but also goofy, personality responds back. Much to Liam's amusement at her reply, he answers back. They develop a very solid friendship online that seems perfect in a cyber sense, but would be difficult to replicate from a real world perspective, or so they think. Anna has her hands full with investing in a studio which she hopes to own someday and Liam is elbow deep in his residency as a trauma surgeon at the ER. Sending emails back and forth is pretty easy. As time goes on and it's obvious they live in the same city, they talk on the phone and make plans to meet up. There's no denying the obvious physical attraction after establishing the already online connection. I enjoyed the banter and dialogue between them, it felt very natural. The chapters alternated between Anna and Liam so it was transparent to the reader as to what they were thinking and feeling. Despite all the time and conversation with each other, there was a little bit of angst as far as Liam holding back. He didn't want to commit to a relationship because of his heavy obligations regarding work so he keeps Anna in the friend zone, but otherwise, he knew that Anna was the jackpot for him as far as envisioning the future. I genuinely liked both of them, particularly Anna and how classy she was, but also very forthright in her communication. Yet she could dissolve the tension with humor while still addressing it directly. I wouldn't have minded if Anna offered a bit more resistance to make Liam sweat a little more, but overall, it was a cute and light hearted story with two good main leads.
