Becoming the Wolf #1

Behind the Beginning

Rate this book
Greyson Crawford means well when he comes to the rescue of a stranger in the woods, but even the best intentions can backfire. One chance meeting out in the middle of nowhere gets him bitten by a monster and his life is altered forever. Being a werewolf is hard enough, but being the vessel for a black-hearted beast like Wolf is nearly impossible. Grey’s life is circling the drain when he runs into the woman he saved a year ago. He isn’t the same man he was back then. In fact, he isn’t a man at all, but Morgan doesn’t seem to mind, and for the first time in a long time, Grey feels like he just might be redeemable. His redemption will come at a steep cost though.

Morgan has a fate that is so much bigger than she ever expected. She’s nothing special—a graphic designer and warden to her little niece, and right now, she’s just trying to get by. But a chain of events will change her destiny. There is no shot at a boring life when she is thrust into a culture she had no idea even existed—werewolves. There is nothing safe about this life, but she just can’t stay away from the mysterious, snarly man who saved her all those months ago. If she’s brave enough, and strong enough, she just might find a love story for the ages. Or she could get dragged down a path that will change the destiny of two wolf packs, and the entire race of werewolves forever.

She has no idea what she is yet, or how important she is to a brewing war…but behind her beginning is a Silver Wolf waiting to reign.

**Behind the Beginning is the first book in T. S. Joyce's completely re-written series (originally titled the Silver Wolf Clan series, now re-titled the Becoming the Wolf series.) The rights now belong to the author.

Fabulous start to new series. Th H survives a wolf attack but he's changed forever. He's a super dominant wolf that rages and wants to kill everyone, except the human h. A kind Alpha helps H to function, but his wolf ensures nothing is easy. The H's internal conversations with the wolf were funny, and as the wolf constantly shames him for being a nice guy. The only thing they agree on is the the h is theirs. It's bloody and full of angry, mean shifters fighting and loving.

The Beginning❣️

This is one of TS Joyce’s VERY first stories and even though it was longer than she usually does, it was no less fantastic😍

Greyson is out camping when he hears a woman scream in terror. Not even thinking twice about it, he comes to her rescue and attacks a large wolf standing over a woman he later discovers is her sister. Going through agonising pain himself, he doesn’t realise he’s become a Werewolf until a few days later😢 Struggling with his Wolf, he does the best he can but can’t put the woman who screamed out of his mind until one day he scents her close to where he lives.

Morgan has NEVER forgotten the man who saved her and her niece Lana and when he stumbles upon her again, their connection intensifies further until Grey just simply can’t stay away😁 Loved this story and I can’t wait to read the next one❤️

I wish this was the standard TS Joyce we all know and love but it’s not. It’s a series with one main couple and other people come and go. Kind of boring with little growth happening here and there. Maybe she finally ran out of ideas? Who knows lol

Do yourself a big favor., skip this series and go re-read her previous books. Trust me

There is a girl. She had a story to tell. She worked so hard. And then her life fell. She tried and tried. But never gave in. And when she was through. She got her BIG win!

TS Joyce is finally able to share where her writing heart began, now that she has the rights to share this story. And we have the privilege of peeking inside her story-writing mind, in Behind the Beginning!

What a way to start an adventure!

I’ve been a fan of this Authors for a while now, and I love her work. All I can say is if this was her starting book, then no wonder 100 books down the line she still one of the best PNR authors I follow.
Grey and Morgan have already been on a hell of a journey, and it’s a powerfully emotional as well as physical one. I can’t wait to read the next book, and I recommend this to all paranormal fans, you won’t be disappointed.

I enjoyed this one, but not as much as some of the others by this author. It was pretty standard fare, a lot of what I've seen in other books. I did like it enough to keep reading. I'm interested to see if Grey and Morgan can make things work living so close to Dean and Rachel.

Not her best

Grey and Morgan's story. It doesn't flow anywhere near her other books and the amount of fractured sentences, and spelling errors makes it somewhat hard to read.

*WARNING* story contains explicit adult content
I usually enjoy books by this author, but this one, not so much.
This is not for me. I just couldn't get into the story. I found myself bored.

This is a revamp of the first published book from TS Joyce. I liked it alot and could definitely tell it was an older work. It still had a great writing style, but its much more serious. The humor isn't there that you find in her current work. The editing had a little bit of issues but nothing that really took away from the story, just showed the age a little. The characters are still great, the world very powerful. Definitely a more serious and slightly somber take on the shifter romance.

An Unexpected New Beginning!!!

Greyson "Grey" Crawford meant well when he came to the rescue of a stranger in the woods, but he never imagined how his life would change after that encounter. Becoming a wolf shifter wasn't what he had in mind but now he had to share his body with another soul. One that was out of control, his life was no longer his own and things were going from bad to worse.

He was invited to meet the Alpha of the Dallas pack, Dean and the rest of its crew. With whom he became friends with. As he tried to learn to get along with hisinner animal, he couldn't stop thinking about the woman he met in the woods, Morgan. When he ran into that said beautiful woman again, he felt like he might just be able to be saved.

Morgan Carter, a graphic designer who'd lost her sister one day after they were attacked by a rogue Wolf shifter in the woods a year ago. Now the guardian of her six-year-old niece, Lana, she was struggling to get by. Her life took a drastic turn when she was thrown into a new world, she never knew existed. One thing she knew for sure was that she was way over her head but that didn't stop her from being attracted to the mysterious and dangerous man who saved her life twice, Greyson Crawford.

As they got to know each other, things between them grew stronger despite the many obstacles they were facing. Both Grey and Morgan realized that they were stronger together than apart.

Loved how Dean and the Dallas Pack were there for Grey and vice versa. When Morgan's world was rocked because of someone's hurt pride, they stood together to make sure she and Lana would always be protected, no matter what.

BEHIND THE BEGINNING is the first book in T. S. Joyce's BECOMING THE WOLF series. Wow what a wonderful and intriguing way to start of the series. T. S. Joyce did a magnificent job. 5 Golden Stars!

This reads more like a traditional werewolf story than the author’s other works. It’s very reminiscent of Bitten, but without all the boring flashback scenes. There were parts that were confusing and could use a little more clarity around them (especially the start scene with Marianna/Lana/Morgan, because it never mentions a dead body there, so it reads as if Lana is the younger sister and there’s only two females, and Lana gets called niece/baby/daughter seemingly interchangeably in places and its confusing). Also, Morgan is supposed to be this superstar martial arts champion, but we’re never *shown* that. In every situation where those skills would come in handy, she’s pretty much helpless and winds up rescued by a man. Very Mary Jane, but also Special Snowflake. Which I don’t mind, but it did purport to be something else.
It's very different from T.S. Joyce’s other works, but as this was her first ever series I can see how she’s grown and honed her skills from this point.
It’s quite a serious book, missing the humour you’d usually find with this author. But I just read it as an indie werewolf series with zero expectations, and it’s quite enjoyable. It’s not particularly unique for what it is, but it was engaging enough for me to want to finish the series.

On a solo camping trip, Greyson Crawford hurried over to help a screaming woman and pulled a rabid wolf away. Little did Grey know that was the beginning major life changes for him, but one thing that didn’t change was how drawn he was to one of the women he saved before he became a barely controllable dominant werewolf. When a nearby pack tries to help Grey, he lets them help a little.

It’s been quite a year for Morgan Carter, her sister didn’t survive a wolf attack, no one could find Greyson, the man that helped her and she’d become mother to her toddler niece. But coming from a boxing class, Grey dashes in to save her again. They both felt the pull the first time he saved her and now it’s stronger. But another wolf has decided Grey is hers and if that means getting rid of Morgan, she will!

This is not a *new* release, it is a re-release of a trilogy after re-obtaining the rights. The books are being re-written/edited/proofed/released for our enjoyment and the first one is FANTASTIC!

I'm not gonna give you a plot summary, read the blurb for that! My impressions...I like Grey's introduction to the whole *life*, how it was handled. It felt true and realistic (suspending disbelief!). Morgan's trauma and subsequent grief were handled well. (Not a spoiler as that is first chapter stuff and in blurb).

I really enjoyed the slow burn and watching these two develop. Different flavor than other series, but to be expected as it is earlier work reshaped. This is so good, I love the story line and can't wait to get to book 2, which has already been released!

Intense love story

Grey and Morgan's love story is very intense. Grey saves Morgan and her niece Lana only to be turned into a monster of a werewolf. Grey hasn't stopped thinking of Morgan and wolf has decided she will be his. Alexis a jealous werewolf tries to kill Morgan. Alexis should die for trying to kill a human for no good reason. What happened brings a whole new issue to light and major problems to Grey and Morgan's life. Love the way she accepted him as did Lana. His acceptance of Lana made their story even sweeter. Wolf now has a family and a pack and friends to help with what is to come. Bunnies... To funny at the end to give Grey a live bunny 🐇who Lana wants to keep as a pet! I say intense because there are a few violent scenes.

Behind the Beginning is the first book in the Becoming the Wolf series. In this installment, we get a front row seat of how Grey and Morgan met and then reconnected. I liked both of their characters and felt that they are both going to be important to the shifter world. Grey is extremely dominant and I have a feeling Morgan will eventually be the same way.

This story is different from other books I’ve read by this author in that the lead characters' story continues in future books. It’s not just a short one and done. I’m looking forward to learning what happens next, what issues the couple will confront and how they will continue to grow together.

I also like the secondary characters in the Dallas pack.

Knowing this was a first story for T makes it so amazing that if you read this you knew how amazing an author we were reading!

She has a way with words that pulls you through her written world and makes you want to live there forever! Each time I read one of her stories I cry, laugh, feel hopeless and hopeful all at once. To be able to do that every time she writes a book is a powerful gift!

This story is such a gift and I am so so happy to be reading it. Prepare to be taken into one of her first worlds and not be the same when you come out at the end! This is only the beginning and I can’t wait to read more!

Greyson doesn't understand what he has become. Morgan is raising her neice. One night changed everything for them. Will Greyson learn to adapt? Will Morgan be able to handle what she is put through?

Another TS Joyce book that sucked me in. I have to say, I loved how Morgan rolled with the punches, but wasn't a doormat. I didn't blame Greyson for being scared of what he had become, but loved seeing him grow and learn more about his other side. Great read and cannot wait to start the next book in this series!

This book was fantastic! I expected nothing less from T.S. Joyce though. She never lets me down. I loved the characters so much. My heart hurt for them, then rejoiced for them and hurt for them again. It was a roller coaster I couldn't get off of which is why I read the whole thing straight through. Without spoiling anything, I will just say, I wanted to jump right into this book and punch Alexis in the throat. I'm not a violent person, but man do I love to hate her at this point. I'm so glad I didn't have to wait long for the 2nd book.

Oh so sweet!!

So Gray stumbled upon a horrible scene in the woods one night Morgan standing over her sister trying to keep the wolf from getting to her and her niece. The sister didn't make it and Gray ended up getting turned and Morgan became a mom to her niece. Some time later Gray came across Morgan and he can't figure out who she is to him and his wolf but with the help of a fellow Alpha he soon learns she is his, his mate. This story was so very sweet I'm sure everyone would enjoy it

Loved it!

Becoming the Wolf, is the story of how Grey became a wolf and his love for Morgan, and Morgan’s transition. Normally I’m in grossed with the first chapter. It took me a couple chapters to get me going. But once it got my attention, it kept my attention. There’s a lot going on within the story. So many questions that you know will be answered in the next books to come. There’s no cliffhanger, HEA. Can wait to start the next book, Hold Steady. I have read all of T.S. Joyce’s books. I’ve loved all of series and couldn’t get enough.

Great book, too many grammatical errors

I really do enjoy reading the shifter novels by this author, and have read practically everything she's written, however, I refuse to give her a five star rating due to the amount of terrible errors in her grammar and sentence structure that would be picked up by proof reading.

I would usually give the book four stars, but the errors in this book are so extensive I couldn't bring myself to rate it higher.

I look forward to the next in this epic series, and I offer my services free of charge if you need any help.

This is a story that I previously read called “Silver Wolf Clan” by Tera Shanley. It’s been somewhat rewritten, renamed and rereleased. I liked the story the two times I read it before and I liked it this time as well.

I had no idea that Tera Stanley and TS Joyce were the same person. When I started reading this book I was scratching my head thinking, haven’t I read this story before. 🤦‍♀️ Why yes, Tracy, you have. Duh. 😂
