A stellar debut!

This anthology is sloppy and wet, stained with gore and blood and fluids, not a bad story in the whole lot. I really enjoyed reading this collection!

A must-read for extreme horror enthusiasts

Welcome to the Splatterclub, indeed. This was an amazing collection of short stories that I can’t recommend highly enough. It starts out with helluva story written by John McNee. One of the best stories in the book, in my opinion. A girl looking to party has the night of her life. It’s a hell of an introduction to the wide variety of stories available. Some my other favorites include the contributions by Nikki Noir, Matthew Weber, and C.M. Saunders. There is a little something for everyone in this book, from a drug deal gone terribly wrong to an armed robbery with a sweet twist to splatter in space. Buy it. Read it. The stories and characters are unforgettable. You won’t be disappointed.

I'm sorry for my 4 stars, I'm a bit more difficult with anthology.

My two favorite stories goes to:

"The Big Bad Boy"
from Patrick Winters, it was my first story from him, I would have liked an entire book about this, I mean the concept was fantastic and it could have been much more longer. Wow

"Grinder"
From Nikki Noir, I read several short stories by Nikki Noir, everytime I was hooked at the first line, that author is fantastic without a doubt. I'm loving the story and the smut elements. !

Sometimes I review each story in an anthology and other times I review it as a whole. Seeing I would use a lot of the same words to describe each short story of the twelve included in Welcome to the Splatter Club, I will be doing it as a whole.

The gruesome cover and descriptive title make it easy to know what’s inside this splatterpunk horror anthology. Plenty of blood and guts, some delicious snacks, a has been Las Vegas comedienne, bullies, trophies, outer space, the penguin, and so much more had me cringing, feeling like I want to cover my eyes.

If you are looking for something that is spook worthy, Welcome to the Splatter Club has all you could ask for. The short stories can fill in those moments when you are waiting in line at the drug store, sitting in the doctor’s office, or any time you have a couple of spare minutes.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Welcome to the Splatter Club.

Time to get splattered!

Welcome to the Splatter Club is a diverse and enjoyable sampling of Splatterpunk tales that includes such fearsome and blackly hilarious horrors as rebellious sperm, eldritch penguins, and parasites that cause satyriasis. Some of my favorites include ‘Splatter Party’ by John McNee, a tale of a party gone horribly wrong (or horribly right, depending on your perspective); ‘Grinder’ by Nikki Noir, a piece of erotic horror delirium in the tradition of Barker’s ‘Age of Desire;’ ‘Dickey Dykstra’ by Airika Sneve, a gonzo journey into a realm of boardroom bitching and psycho CEOs; and ‘The Woman in the Ditch’ by Joshua Rex, a spooky piece of masterful prose about a pair of teenage boys and the sinister thing that wants a piece of their blossoming manhood. If you’re a fan of horror, then check this out – you will undoubtedly find something in here to your liking.

Blood and Gore... the title says it all!

This horror anthology has blood and gore in abundance here. The short stories are well written and I devoured it in one sitting. I usually read an anthology two stories at a time but this kept me hooked and I read it in one sitting. I am always impressed when authors are able to write a good short story. It is a skill that seems to be rare these days but definitely not in this collection.

With the sequel recently released, I thought I'd re-read this one. I know I've read it before, so I'm not sure why it isn't showing as reviewed on Amazon and GR. I'm doing this thing where I'm reading a couple of shorts in between each book that I read, and these shorts are perfect for that.
This book is full of gore, splat, humor and all around fun!!!
There's a story in space that really stuck with me. In actuality, there's \not a bad story in the bunch

*****I received this ebook free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

To all my fellow splatterpunk fans this books of short stories will be just what you are looking for! Typically when I read a collection of short stories I find a bunch that fall short. That was not the case with this collection. All the gruesome and shocking stories I would expect in a splatterpunk collection.

4.5 out of 5 stars.

With the 3rd instalment in development I though I'd better check this one out, I have already read the 2nd instalment and loved it.
This was a great anthology, with all sorts of stories. there is a few space horrors, a psycho CEO on a hobby hose, a drug deal takes a bizarre twist, and a guy who will try eating anything once.
Some of my favourites are

Grinder by Nikki Noir
a great mix of smut and horror, I've read a few by Nikki now and laved them all

Code Black by Matthew Weber
a great twist on a school bully story.

Splattery in Space by matthew vaughn is a fun zero gravity mess.

If you like splatter punk, you will love this fun little anthology.

Thank you Joe Spagnola, S.C. Mendes and Blood Bound Books for the opportunity to read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm going to go into this a little differently, usually I rate books individually inside anthologies but I just can't this time. The average rating for all of them came in at just under a three, so I have rounded to the three.

As a lover of Splatterpunk, horror and all things crazy and gruesome, there were just some of these that I didn't enjoy. Purely because the stories themselves weren't fitting what I normally see in that category. My standouts were Grinder, which played on basic human greed and desire for more and Neutered, a wacked out mash of self loathing with a twist.

Thank you to NetGalley and Blood Bound Books for an advanced copy for review. Welcome To The Splatter Club is available now.

Wow! What a SPLATTER’IFIC Collection!!!

The stories in this collection were outstanding! My favorites were:
Grinder by Nikki Noir
The Woman in the Ditch by Joshua Rex
23 to 46 by Paul Stansfield
Sometimes the Penguin Eats You by Brian Asman
Code Black by Matthew Weber
There were hardly any misses in this anthology. This was a great one and I highly recommend it for splatterpunk fans!

Best splatter punk anthology ever!

I enjoyed these short stories immensely. Some are downright weird and/or goofy (like the dude who ate his roommate's therapy penguin because of his erratic appetite and behavior. It was a really fun way to spend a few hours and as a palette cleanser between books. Lot of gore, raunchy sex, torture, weirdness, and everything that a good horror anthology would have. Definitely recommended to fans of splatter punk.

A very strong anthology of extreme horror. It has it all: blood, death, sex, gore, drugs, gastronomy and humor. It's very difficult to pick a favorite story: Splatter Party by McNee, Code Black by Weber, Sometimes the Penguin Eats You by Asman, perhaps? C.M. Saunders's story is another gem, perhaps even too realistic for my liking. In any case, K. Trap Jones (Blood Bound Books) has done an amazing job. All horror fans should be grateful to him for this fantastic anthology!

This anthology was so different than others I have read in the past. It features gritty horror stories, and was very enjoyable.

But some of the stories result didn't seem to fit the splatter category in my opinion. More so they were just "creepy". I was expecting more out of this, but still not terrible over all.

Readable

Some stories were okay. Some I didn't much care for, not because they were not well written, they were. Just not into some of the subject matter.

With the exception of one infuriating piece of trash that I’ll get to in a moment, Welcome to the Splatter Club was a strong collection of extreme horror with some outstanding entries.

SPLATTER PARTY by John McNee was a great story to open with. It doesn’t seem like much at first, and takes a long time to really get to the meat of the horror, but once the curses begin to manifest . . . wow! And the final scene of discovery? Absolutely perfect.

GRINDER by Nikki Noir was one of my two favorites in the collection, a gruesome tale of power, greed, drugs, and sexual excess. It’s one of those stories where you know where it’s going, but not quite how, allowing it to both satisfy and surprise at the same time.

I HANG MY HAT AND THERE’S NO BLOOD by Robert Essig was a really weird one, another slow-burn story that had me wondering where it was headed, but the way it telegraphed one twist only to turn it into something else entirely was brilliant. Bleak, but brilliant.

CODE BLACK by Matthew Weber was my other favorite story in the collection, an exploration of small town prejudices and teenage bullying, with the all-too-human vengeance of the final even more chilling than the supernatural horrors that precede it. This one reminded me of a vintage Stephen King story, from back when he wasn’t afraid to end in darkness.

23 TO 46 by Paul Stansfield was more surreal than horrific – at least until the end – but it was a clever concept and well-done.

HOLIDAY OF A LIFETIME is that infuriating piece of trash I mentioned earlier. I dreaded where it was heading as soon as the wife suggested a Thailand vacation, BUT FOR FUCK'S SAKE CAN WE JUST STOP WITH THE LAME FUCKING USE OF A TRANSGENDER TRAP AS A PLOT DEVICE, GET PAST THE FUCKING "I VOMITED BECAUSE A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN HAS A PENIS" BULLSHIT, AND NEVER FUCKING EVER AGAIN (NOT EVEN IN FICTION) USE TRANSPHOBIA TO FUCKING JUSTIFY MURDER!

NEUTERED by Chandler Morrison was a creepy bit of sci-fi horror that did some really interesting things with memories of abuse and self-loathing. I had to read it twice to wrap my head around it, but it was worth it.

THE WOMAN IN THE DITCH by Joshua Rex would have been a perfect story on which to end, another slow-burn tale with a subtle element of horror that’s perfectly teased early on, played with nicely, and then indulged in details that are as disgusting as they are beautiful. It’s one of those stories there the telling just fit the horror.

I really wish that one story hadn’t been there, or that I could excise it from my memory, because I feel like it drags down what was otherwise a strong collection. I’ll be honest, I very nearly abandoned Welcome to the Splatter Club at that point, but there were so many excellent stories that preceded it, I couldn’t in good conscience allow them to pass without comment, and I’m glad I gave the final few a read.

Firstly I would like to thank K. Trap Jones , S . C.Mendes , Blood Bound Books, NetGalley and the collective of outstanding extreme horror writers whom made this anthology a reality.
I am an avid reader of the splatterpunk genre, so I was very excited to receive this compilation of short stories to read and review.
The collection contains the work of highly recognisable authors within this field whom have each put their unique style and stamp within the pages.

Although I love extreme horror , I tend to read the author's own novellas and this is the first anthology I have read.
The best thing about reading a collection is that there is literally something for everyone. Whilst some of the 13 tales didn't quite hit the mark for me , I appreciate that others will relish in these tales. It is a great way to discover new authors and have a glimpse into their imaginative , gritty and sometimes warped minds.

I personally derive pleasure from the graphic and gut churning and on this note feel that some of the works were not exactly splatterpunk and tame for the classification , but none the less were weird, niche and very diverse.
Splatter Party by John McNee was a great introductory tale and a great opener to the book ahead. Whilst Grinder by Nikki Noir was one of my personal favourites . Whilst the book is not for the faint of heart and the very easily offended, I must recommend it for anybody looking for memorable and shocking bitesize works of fiction . From horror in outer space to the eating of a penguin - There is certainly an appealing story for all tastes.

Bite sized chunks of gore for easy consumption!

I love anthologies and this splatterpunk anthology was no exception! There's usually one or two stories I don't like in short story collections, but I absolutely loved every one and devoured this book in less than 24 hours. I simply could not put it down.

The stories were gross and funny, I found myself gagging and laughing and, most importantly, whispering 'wtf?' to myself throughout the whole thing. Highly recommend for all splatterpunk lovers and to anyone looking to get into the genre.

While not every story in here is a keeper, there were plenty that I really enjoyed! Some of them I felt would make great episodes in some cool extreme horror anthology TV series, and there were definitely some wild and creative ideas in here. While maybe not the best place to start with extreme horror and splatterpunk, it's worth checking out for anyone familiar with the subgenres and who wants to support the indie horror lit community.

I enjoyed all of these graphically gut churning stories. Each of the authors disgusted me expertly. Whether you fear centipede-like space creatures, excruciating alien body modification, life-challenging cheese, fetuses, drugs to make you murderously horny, or irrepressible sirens in the gutters, here are plenty of choice cuts to chose from. Try to avoid the man in green glasses, but drink the tea.

I received a free ARC, and this review is voluntary

The compilation of stories is pretty short in length, but what it lacks in page count it makes up for in quality of content. Each story was fresh, and taken to a level that brought out the creepy vibes.

This was a good read, and I'm glad I now have a whole host of new authors I can scope out.

This book successfully does what all good Splatterpunk should strive for. It's fun as all hell. Gross and offensive but still fully aware of what it is. Due to being a collection there will always be a few stories that don't hold up as much as the others but they all at least manage to be fun.
