Another winner in this series. Yes, the romance is the heart and soul, but the 'verse continues to expand in new and interesting ways. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Korva, since he basically ensured that his species would no longer produce females and that they'd have to mate with humans in a fit of insanity, which...yeah that's alot. But there's consequences for his actions and Ms. Hart manages to give him a fantastic heroine in Eve. I enjoyed the fact that both Eve and Korva have lost love in their lives, they've been around the block and they're very balanced as a couple. Definitely top 3 in this series for me.

We've seen glimpses of this pairing in the past. I thought it interesting because of Korva and all the harm he did to his people. I wasn't sure if he would even let himself feel anything for Eve, that he wouldn't be able to get over his centuries dead mate.

Eve had her own interesting history. Knowing it made it easier to see why she chose to go to Arcav, she was betrayed by those close to her over and over again. The two of them together doesn't seem like it works when you first see it, but as this one went on you see they are very good together. I liked how Korva would bargain with Eve to get what he wanted and how later Eve turned that around to get what she wanted. They were well matched.

Korva's redemption...

While this book does an amazing job of standing alone, having read the previous story I know that virtually every character in this Universe has reason to be at the very least annoyed with Korva, more likely downright angry. Lost in grief and mourning, he changed the paths of two planets and all the people on those worlds. Among them a human named Eve, he took a choice from her, or perhaps better said made something that should have been a choice into something that will, at some point be dictated, and will ultimately not be a choice at all -- and she is bitter. She knew what she didn't want, and his decision is going to force her to accept it.

Yet somehow, as these two come together time and again, sometimes by their own choices, and sometimes life simply tosses them together, Eve begins to rethink her stand on that choice, and Korva begins to heal, to move beyond the grief and mourning he has been trapped in for two centuries, and open his eyes to the here and now. As Korva begins to grow as a person, to make choices he never would have made 18 months ago, he begins to understand that the people around him have been growing and evolving over these past centuries as well.

This story is a reminder that even if we do not consciously choose to change, our lives affect us, and we evolve.

This done in one quick read does some nice World Building, ties in with the previous story in several ways without making it required reading, and reminds us there is more to happen in this universe without leaving us hanging off a cliff at the end.

Reading about Korva in the other books in this series always made me sad. True his past actions caused some serious complications and consequences. But he was not at his right mind. Seeing his reactions to Eve in the other books, I had hoped that there would be a book with him as the main character. Thanks Hope, for fulfilling my dreams.

Loved it!

I love how this author doesn't turn her heroines into soft-spined 'don't you want me' pansies. These women have dignity. If their mates don't act right, they are apt for a life alone. Yas!!! Keep it up, Hart.

I am normally not a fan of books in which the guy pursues the girl while still pining for a past love. However, overall, I did enjoy the story and the characters.

Korva had a lot of flaws. I found it unforgivable that he eliminated the ability for female Arcavs to be born - damning his entire race to misery and insanity. It is horrible that just because he experienced a tragedy, he wanted to pretty much destroy and most likely eliminate his race. The fact that he pursued Eve while planning to clone his dead mate showed that he really hadn't grown as a person. He also had no regrets about what he did in the past. He was still just thinking about himself.

I like that Eve was strong, independent, and didn't take his s***. I disliked that Eve didn't disclose her past with the FBI to her allies. She endangered the mission and people's lives. Yet, after being betrayed by everyone she has trusted in the past, it is forgivable.

Overall, good read. I look forward to the next Christmas book and catching up on all of the characters except for ahole Jarret. I still can't forgive his cheating and selfish ways.

I want a book on Blake and the new queen of Fecax. :D

Second chance

Korva has my heart. This whole time I have been hoping he would find a second love. Eve is my spirit animal. She is a bada** in every way. But her heart is so big and so easily broken. She made me smile so much. We can all take a lesson on how to pull your big girl pants up and keep going from this fierce worrier. Loved this story so much. Can not stop reading this author.

Book 1 is still my favorite with this being a close second. Hope Hart is so talented at world & character building, she does herself a disservice with how abruptly she ends the stories. The character's stories need to be a bit longer.

This book is by far the best in the series! We once again love strong women and we love men who love and support strong women! Words can not describe the heartache I felt on behalf of Eve during this book.

Important note: in my opinion the best sex scenes in the series so far.

Korva watches as the female fights, but when Eve thinks no one is looking, he sees that she takes care of those weaker than she is. But he feels that just watching her is a betrayal of his mate who has been gone for two centuries. Yet he is fascinated by this woman. The fight with Blake is going well with each of them getting in good punches, until Blake tells her that her “boyfriend” is there. The distraction costs her and he is able to get her arm in a position that he can break it if she doesn’t yield, so she says “Uncle” and he lets her up. She glares at Korva for making her lose. Then she and Blake go to Brin’s medi-center so he can use his “magic wand” to fix all their injuries.

At a meeting, Blake announces that an HAA faction may be working with the Grivath, massive grey beasts with red eyes and a strong urge for universal domination. When the Arcav contacted Earth to negotiate for Earth mates, the Grivath became aware of Earth as a source for slaves they could sell. Now Arcav is responsible to protect Earth. Blake said they would have two teams to deal with the HAA situation. Blake and Eve will head to the FBI who are expecting them. Nathan and Rob will work directly with the cops on the ground. The two Arcav will each go with one of the teams, Vazta with Nathan and Rob, Korva with Blake and Eve.

Special Agent Phillip Kurts meets them and takes them inside to begin the meeting. Eve was former FBI and everything is familiar to her. A picture of three men known to be working with the Grivath is shown on a screen and Eve drops her coffee cup and goes rigid – one of the men is Liam Trenton, her ex-fiance! At a second meeting in Manhattan, Deputy Director Fields told them that soon after Liam joined 18 months ago, the group formally cut ties with HAA and took the name HGA— the Human Grivath Alliance. It was about the same time that Eve had left for Arcavia as she left the FBI. Blake wasn’t happy that they were not aware of the bad feelings between Eve and some of the FBI team. And Korva is concerned that the more time he spends near Eve, the more his protective instincts show which should only appear for his mate. But he refuses to let her go into danger without him. Why was he feeling like this?

This was another addition to this series that I really enjoyed. The story line and characters will catch the reader’s attention from start to finish. Korva and Eve’s interactions are moving them forward into something new. This book and the others in this series are so descriptive and provide incredible world building that puts the reader right in the middle of the action. Grab your copy and see if the team can take down the enemy before they can do some serious damage to Earth!

I really enjoyed reading this truly suspenseful Sci-Fi alien romance. The plot is well-paced & interesting with good world building & scene descriptions. There are some character crossovers but this book can be read as a standalone. The well-developed characters are quite strong-willed & full of determination although one of them (Korva) has made mistakes in the past due to grief but tries to make-up for them then he discovers a feisty human female (Everly) is his mate but she tries to ignore him to the best of her ability but Korva has a few devious plans in store for her. There is some good support from the secondary characters.
There is: a feisty female ex-FBI agent (Everly aka Eve), a Arcav crown prince (Korva) who is considered a traitor, a ex-fiancé & conniving traitor (Liam), a manipulative brother & king (Varian), evil aliens (Grivaths), a Human Grivath Alliance (HGA), an organization (Humans against Arcav aka HAA), various kinds of aliens, humans, twists & turns, intrigue, some suspense, adventure, action, threats, danger, enemies, assassination attempts, deceit, betrayal, traitors, memories, heartache, violence, conflict, determination, verbal conflict, defiance, ultimatums, trust issues, manipulations, disagreements, frustrations, mating bands, disbelief, discovery, anger, abduction, declarations, trust, happiness, love some steam & a satisfying conclusion. I would recommend this Sci-Fi alien romance.

A lot of flashbacks in the story. I’m not entirely sure when I first started reading this book because I haven’t read the other ones what was going on. They did reviews of the cameos of the other characters from the books. But I still was not clear on what the heck was going on. Apparently Everly a.k.a. Eve left the FBI 18 months ago. She’s on this new planet in order to make a difference. But apparently there is a underground fascist group That is after and try to overrule the alien group that is there to protect humans. Well least I hope that’s right. Eve is protected by Korva, the Arcav alien, who has a strong urge and feeling to always protect her no matter what. Meanwhile she’s already trained and knows what she’s doing but she is a “small female “.
The story is interesting and there’s a lot of action in it as a story involves. I was just having problems trying to figure out what was going on because of the flashbacks of what happened before and present. Especially when Korva was having flashbacks or blacking out and he was physically unconsciously acting on his feelings HEA, good character development. Just pay attention when reading to minimize confusion.

This was a very well written story about Eve and Korva. We get more in-depth info about why Korva did what he did and his struggles especially about his feelings concerning Eve that he struggles about as he's torn about betraying his dead mate Daliz who he's working in his lab to bring back. Also Eve has her own demons from her past that also crop up. Her ex- fiancé, Liam, is in a group (HGA that was HAA) who are working with the Grivath and she has to work with the FBI which she was fired from and demeaned when she was burned by her fiancé who was dirty and destroyed her career and relationship with her father. Then Eve has to come to terms about her feelings toward Korva. This is just the beginning of this story with more action and dilemmas that was a delight to read and review. Will Korva and Eve get their HEA? ARC via Booksprout

Book five of the Sci Fi Alien Romance/Arcav Alien Invasion series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Eve/Everly is part of the Queen's guard she meets Arcav Korva they spend one night together then he says it was a mistake. But what he does not know is that he mated her. There is suspense, drama, danger, attempted murder, and romance. I enjoyed reading this story and I want to read the next one. Great series

I love this whole world, the aliens and the dialogue. It’s witty and I even lol a few times. The Arcav males are possessive and respectful at the same time.

I don’t love the typos. There are only a few, but they are glaring and cause the story to come to a screeching halt while I try to figure out what it means. Hopefully your copy will be corrected.

Even if it’s not, the story is still worth it. I’m looking forward to the next book and all the HEA’s for the minor characters.

Everly is from Earth and is training to be part of the queens guard. Korva went crazy years ago after his wife died and became a traitor. He is attracted to Everly and is fighting it because he feels that he is betraying his wife. Korva is sending mixed messages to Everly and she doesn't know what to do. Does Korva want her? Is he going insane again? Must read to find out.

These stories are full of adventure and action. Eve joined the Queens guard. Korva still has the need to protect Eve even when she tells him she can take care of herself. The plot moves at a very good pace and the characters are both strong-willed and determined. Sure Korva has made mistakes but who doesn't when they are in a relationship. I highly recommend this book and also this series. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Great story.... ***Contains spoilers***

I would like to start by saying that I wanted to give a five star rating but there are some unresolved plot lines. What ever happened to the captured resistance leaders? I hope we find out in future stories. I so wanted Eve to reconnect with her father but am glad she got her HEA with her prince.

After reading Hope Hart’s Thesian series, I had to go back and read where it all started with the Arcavs. The Arcavs are an alien race, who have incredibly long lifespans, with a single Achilles’ heel: they go crazy if their meat dies or leaves them. The King’s brother, Korva’s, mate died. As a result, he went batshit crazy with the whole “if I can’t have my mate, then neither can you,” so he poisoned his planet, to where the females only birthed baby boys. In conjunction, he also released DNA into the humans of Earth to where some human females are compatible as Arcavian mates. He found humor in forcing his kind to breed with an inferior species. (Interesting concept, we have no choice but to go with it.) So the Arcav king invaded Earth, took away their weapons, and forced its women to submit a blood test. With no other choice, Earth is forced to cooperate.

Written in 1st person (my favorite), The Arcav Prince’s Captive is book 4 in this series and follows the alien Arcav Prince Korva and his human mate Eve. Korva is the one responsible for poisoning his species and fucking up the gene pool. Eve, an ex FBI agent, is the only female on Queen Harlow’s guard. There’s a lot of drama regarding her past on Earth, which follows her to another planet, and Korva not being able to let go of his dead mate. They hook up and break up one too many times.

It’s difficult for me to to review this book because I’m getting bored with the same story over and over again. While each book has different characters with different outlooks, each outcome is exactly the same. Boy meets girl, one or both have deep seeded issues that prevent them from accepting the mating, one saves the other from danger, both boy and girl get matching wrist tattoos that mark them as mates, boy and girl finally accept their feelings for each other and live happily ever after. That’s the bases for each and every book. And I don’t see it changing anytime soon. Unfortunately, I’m too invested to stop reading now. Lol

Not as good as the last one

I know everyone loves a kick butt heroine but man some of these women can be total B!tches and I'm seriously confused on how her mating bands didn't show up til almost the end of the story they been going at it like rabbits I thought all it took was them exchanging bodily fluid and if they were compatible bam it happened so what am I missing anyways these could be really good stories she needs to tone down the bad @$$ heroine a little I mean for example one of the guys tell one of the women she is his mate he asks her to go on some dates with him she gives him the bird really was that necessary?? Anyways check it out for your self see if u like it

Hooked

I started this series three days ago and I am so glad I did. The Arcav need human mates for their survival. As you know women in general have personalities and minds of their own and do not go willingly. The male Arcav are very protective, and have a one tract mind to make sure their mate is thoroughly happy.

The characters are engaging, likable and realistic. The plots are different and they stories of their mating discoveries are unique.

This is only my second review on this series because I don’t want to take the time to stop my reading to write one.

My only complaint is that the stories are too short. Hopefully with the continuation of this series after book 7 the author, Hope Hart will keep that in mind!

I loved Eve and Korva’s story so much more than I thought I was going to. There were times I literally laughed out loud and few spots where I shed a tear or two. I love that feeling of finishing a satisfying book. The only time I thought Eve was in the wrong is when she didn’t reveal her past problems with her old FBI squad when they returned to earth for an important meeting. It really could have negatively compromised the outcome.

Evenis definitely my kind of heroine. Strong, but vulnerable. Not whiny. Not bitchy. If you love Eve, you’ll totally love “Nevada.” She’s in the second book of the sequel series to this, “Agron Warriors.” Nevada is a marine. Her personality and Eve’s are very similar and both of their stories are my favorite.

5 stars - I am on a roll with excellent books lately!

I had been looking forward to Korva and Eve's story since getting glimpses of them in The Arcav King's Mate (highly recommend starting with that book to kick off the series, even if you don't read book 2 and 3 before this one).

I loved pretty much everything about this book - the take on fated mates (how does it work when Korva already found and lost his mate 200 years earlier, which caused him to go 'insane'?), how Korva is instinctively all protective of Eve, how Eve is so fierce and independent but drawn to Korva and can only sleep properly in his presence. Something about the way their relationship develops feels hot, intimate and sweet, all at the same time. Loved this so much.

Finally a strong heroine!

This series has redeemed itself with this book. The series started out really strong with Harlow and Varian in books 1 and 2, but then went downhill with Amanda and Jeret. Book 4, Methi and Meghan’s book was so bad that I almost gave up on this series, but I’m so glad that I stuck it out because this book was awesome! Eve is a kickass heroine. The love story between Korva and Eve is a slow build up, rather than the instant love between Amanda and Jeret that I hated in book 3. The backstory is very well developed. There was a lot of excitement and mystery that made you want to keep reading.
