For a while I worked as a magazine journalist in London but then 21 years ago I came on holiday to New Zealand and met my future husband Carne Bidwill at a wedding. Now we live together near a beach in Auckland with our dogs Charlie the standard poodle and Lucy the pointer. I spend my time writing novels, working as a freelance journalist, riding my two horses, growing veges in my garden, cooking, trying to get other people to cook for me, eating and reading. There isn't much time for anything else except a little light housework.
My all-time favourite book is To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee and my book of 2013 was LIfe After LIfe by Kate Atkinson.

Salvio Valentini was the youngest ever mayor of the small, historical town of Montenello in southern Italy, and along with his second in charge, the elderly Augusto, they came up with a plan to entice new blood to energize the aging town. Their advertisement went out far and wide – on social media, newspapers; it went viral. “Live your dream of Italy for just one Euro”…
Elise was excited when she saw the advertisement. To be able to own an (admittedly run-down) historical home in southern Italy wasn’t something she’d envisioned, but the cost of one Euro was an enticement. As long as she could renovate within the required three years, she would be fine. Mimi was about to go through a divorce after many years of marriage – she saw it as a way to start again, with her independence restored. And Edward’s life in Australia had been slowly unravelling – the thought of owning a home in Montenello was like a dream.
As each of the chosen made their way to the little village, unknown to one another, they knew the food would be wonderful, the majesty of the countryside would be special – what they didn’t know was whether it would turn out right for them. Could they each find happiness in their dream? Was it meant to be?
A Dream of Italy by Nicky Pellegrino was an absolute delight! I thoroughly enjoyed the characters – Donna Carmela, Salvio’s mother and a magnificent cook, was divine. The setting painted by the author – although I’ve never been to Italy – took me there; I could easily envision the picturesque town. The food – well, I could taste that! I have never read this author before, but if this is anything like her usual fare, I’ll be looking for more. A fabulous read which I highly recommend.

He is astounded at the number of applications and his assistant helps him to choose three. These people are invited to come and look at the property chosen for them.
This is a book about friendship, second chances and new beginnings.
I really enjoyed this book and fell in love with the characters and almost felt that I was in Italy.
This is the second book I have read from this author and I will be looking out for more of her work.

Tai knygos "Į Italiją su meile" sakyčiau priešistorė, nustebino ir buvo smagu ir miela skaityti. Patiko, šilta ir jauki knyga, kuri tiesiog alsuoja Italija, jos temperamentu, skoniais ir kvapais. 😉

Namas už eurą? Ar galite tuo patikėti? Ar ryžtumėtes tokiai avantiūrai? Net ir žinodami, kad namo remontas jums kainuos daug daugiau nei tik pinigus.
Mažo Italijos miestuko meras nusprendžia gyvenvietę prikelti ant kojų, internete įkeldamas skelbimą, jog miestelio valdžia parduoda apleistus namus vos už eurą. Užklausos ima plaukti, merui tenka rinktis, kurie žmonės tetrokšta nuotykio, o kuriems iš tiesų reikia pakeisti savo gyvenimą? Taip į miestuką susirenka gana marga publika: neseniai skyrybas pergyvenusi vyresnio amžiaus moteris, jauna mergina, kurios vaikinas neva atvyks vėliau, brandi ir stabili gėjų porelė... Atrodytų, miestelis jau imtų stotis ant kojų.
Aš visą knygą skaičiau ir laukiau... Laukiau... Visas romanas man priminė vieną ilgą įžangą į labai gerą ir smagią istoriją, tačiau tos istorijos aš taip ir nesulaukiau.
Ar aš pirkčiau namuką už eurą? Jei žinočiau, kad nepaskandinsiu savęs mokesčiuose visam gyvenimui - kodėl gi ne? Žinojimas, jog gali gyventi mažame kalnų kaimelyje jau pats savaime ramina dūšią.
Man pačiai teko vos kartą būti Italijoje, tačiau Ispanijos kaimelius esu išmaišiusi ir jie man sukelia tik gražiausius prisiminimus. Mažos, akmenimis grįstos gatvelės, bobutės, šluojančios savo ir taip švarius prieangius... Tyluma ramuma tik iš pirmo žvilgsnio, o po kurio laiko pastebi, kad ten verda gyvenimas.
Vos prieš kelis metus tikrai būčiau sakiusi, kad toks kaimelis man atrodo nuobodu, tačiau dabar manau jau visai kitaip. Mielai būčiau vieno iš veikėjų vietoje.
Tai jau ne pirma Pellegrino knyga, kurią skaičiau, jos romanai tiesiog alsuoja Italija, jos temperamentu, skoniais ir kvapais. Ką jau ką moka ši rašytoja, tai aprašyti maistą, jo skonį, tekstūrą, kad seilės pačios kaupiasi.
Graži, pozityvi istorija apie naujas pradžias, naujo puslapio atvertimą, tabula rasa, vadinkime kaip norime. Toms dienoms, ypač toms dienoms, kai, rodos, žemė slysta iš po kojų.

Tikrai labai graži ir šilta knyga. Kaip tik tokia, kurią norisi skaityti tokiu nežinios, liūdesio ir siaubo kupinu metu.
Kas gi nenorėtų gražiame Italijos miestelyje įsigyti namo už vieną eurą? O ir įsigyjimo sąlygos atrodo legvai įgyvendinamos. Tereikia per tris metus atlikti namo remontą ir įsilieti į mažo miestelio gyvenimą. Tokia netradicinė ir labai smagi knygos pagrindinė mintis.
Veikėjai atrodo paprasti, žemiški, kasdieniški, kiekvienas bėgantis nuo dabartinio savo gyvenimo ir bandantis atrasti laimę svečioje šalyje. Visi tokie skirtingi, bet nauja vieta ir nauji iššūkiai sujungia visus draugėn. Ir tiesiog laikai sukryžiuotus pirštus, kad tik pasisektų ši avantiūra.
O kur dar maisto aprašymai, atrodo skaitai ir jauti skonį, tekstūrą, net seilės kaupiasi, o pilvo gurgesys verčia stotis ir eiti paieškoti ko nors valgomo. O taip norėtųsi paragauti to skanaus ir sotaus itališko maisto.
Man patiko. Graži ir pozityvi istorija apie naujas pradžias, apie mažus žingsnelius, kuriuos ne visi drįstame žengti, apie gražią draugystę. Viena iš tų knygų, kai nereikia pajungti visų smegenų ląstelių norint suprasti painų tekstą, o tiesiog mėgaujiesi lengvai plaukiančiu tekstu, įtraukiančiu miestelio aprašymu, paprastais veikėjais ir atsipalaiduoti ir niekur neskubėti skatinančia knygos nuotaika.

Nežinau, ar Sofoklis kolektyvas susimetė vieną eurą „ant namo” Italijoje, tačiau su vyru labai rimtai svarstėme tokią galimybę. Kai prieš kokius penkis metus lietuviškuose naujienų portaluose pasirodė straipsniai, kad Italijoje praktiškai veltui parduodami apleisti namai, susidomėjome ir mes. Tačiau, įvertinus, kad visgi reikės nemažų investicijų, laiko, o ir gali būti, kad įsigytas būstas niekada neatsipirks, atsisakėme šio sumanymo.
Na, o knygos veikėjai rimtai domisi apleistų namų pirkimu. Tai ne tik nekilnojamojo turto įsigijimas, bet ir galbūt naujo gyvenimo pradžia. Ar išsipildys jų itališka svajonė? Kartu su veikėjais vaizduotėje vaikščiosime siauromis akmeninėmis gatvelėmis, gerėsimės kraštovaizdžiu ir alyvmedžių giraitėmis, magiškais namukais trullo, miestelio užeigoje mėgausimės gardžiu itališku maistu: žaliosiomis alyvuogėmis, šviežiais makaronais ir kvapnia duona, skrudintais baklažanais ir paprikomis, sūriais ir vytintu kumpiu.

Oh what a beautiful book which gave an opportunity to 3 families to start their life again in the beautiful locales of Italy. When the youngest mayor of the town of Montebello, Salvio Valentino offered 3 ramshackle houses for £1 each with a condition that the houses have to be renovated in 3 years and the home owners should contribute to the town community. Many applications were received, and the mayor chose 3. Mimi from London, recently divorced, Elise and Richard from Bristol, Edward and Gino from Sydney who wanted to bring a spark to their relationship.
My first book by Nicky Pellegrino had me smiling in joy at the descriptions of this mountain town. Every word made me want to run away and start a new life in this community where the people were so warm. The beauty of the landscapes had me sighing, longing to be a part of this town. There are some books in which one can lose themselves, this was one of them for me.
An easy to read story told in 4 POV of the characters helped me connect with them. Some parts of their lives resonated with me. The book had a bit of mystery too running in the background with one of the characters' family. It was obvious the author had dipped her pen in the ink of love while writing this book. The characters grew up and found themselves in the pages, there was a different joie de vivre in them. Nicky made them come alive for me.
A feel good story, this book helped me escape the realities of life for a few hours and transported me to Italy, another place I would like to visit in this lifetime or the next.

This is a delight. I listened to the audio version on several long car journeys and am a happier woman for my time immersed in the sunshine that pervades this story. I feel as though I've wandered through Montenello, eaten all kinds of delicacies in the trattoria, and I have a bit of a crush on its beleaguered but charming mayor, Salvio. An engaging cast of characters come complete with their quirks and foibles, and the depth of characterisation gives the reader a sense of belonging. I don't want to risk spoilers, there was for me one story that I found especially lovely, involving the Australian couple.

What a delightful read this one was, it took me on a holiday to Italy, with some lovely people from different countries who were determined to take on something new in their lives, when they are offered the chance to purchase a house in the Italian town of Montenello for one Euro, not all smooth sailing and a lot work for them, make yourself comfortable as you get to know them and fall in love with them all, and Montenello as I did.
The idea to bring the town back to life again comes from the Mayor Salvio and his assistant Augusto, who has lived in the town forever, and they have high hopes, and as the new people arrive there seems to more energy in the town people out talking, but there is also the thoughts of a curse to get to the bottom of.
Mimi is from London and is not long divorced and is feeling the need to finally do something for herself, her being in charge, her two sons are adults now and when she spies this add her thoughts turn to starting fresh in a new country.
Elise and Richard come from England they are doing everything they can to get into the property market but seem to be losing sight of life the way they are working, maybe buying in Italy will be their answer.
Edward and Gino come from Sydney Australia, they have been together for many years and Edward is feeling a little on edge lately, when he sees the add to buy a property in the town that Gino’s family left many years ago, will this be what they need to find that spark again.
Then there is Cecilia, who kinda sneaks into the town to take over her Nona’s Pasticceria and she holds a secret that will come out.
This is a feel good story that left me feeling very happy, it is well written and the descriptions of the setting and the properties made me feel like I was there and doing my best to renovate some of these buildings, the characters are lovely and were so easy to get to know the characters from the town are just fabulous. I do highly recommend this story, a great read. Lots of HEA at the finish and happy people

Visai įdomus skaitinys apie ryžtą ir drąsa keisti savo gyvenimą, išbandyti kažką naujo ir realizuoti savo itališką svajonę. Sudomino veikėjai, jų istorijos ir santykiai.

Dar neatsivertus knygos jau buvau užkabinta pagrindinės istorijos idėjos - namas už vieną eurą. Pirma į galvą šaunanti mintis - kas "nepasirašytų" tokiai avantiūrai? Nieko keisto, kad kai mažo Italijos miestelio Montenelo valdžia pasidalina pasiūlymu įsigyti naujus namus už tokią juokingą kainą, atsiranda minia susidomėjusių žmonių. Deja, galimybė įgyvendinti savo itališką svajonę atitenka tik keletui. Nauji būsimieji naujakuriai - neseniai su vyru išsiskyrusi Mimi, vaikinų pora iš Austalijos ir sunkiai galą su galu suduriantys, bet apie naujus namus svajonatys Eliza bei Ričardas. Visi čia atvyksta turėdami savo tikslų, minčių ir fantazijų, bet nei vienas dar neįtaria, kaip žavus, bet apleistas ir merdintis Italijos mieselis pakeis jų gyvenimus. ⠀

Nors su šia knyga teko pavargti, nelikau nusivylusi. Nežinau, ar mano slapta meilė Italijai, ar autorės sukurta jauki pasakojimo atmosfera padėjo įsijausti į istoriją, bet tikrai jaučiausi, kaip sėdėdama mažoje miestelio kavinukėje ir slapta stebėdama veikėjų džiaugsmus ir vargus iš šono.⠀

Laikiau kumščius už kiekvieną ir nuoširdžiai vyliausi, kad viskas pavyktų taip kaip jie (ir aš) nori. Vienintelis dalykas, ko čia trūko - veiksmas. Pirma pusė knygos priminė ilgą, bet gana nuobodžią įžangą. Gerai, kad reikalai pasitaisė visiems pagaliau susitikus apžiūrėti, į kokią avantiūrą jie įsivėlė ir ką, kažkada, įdėję daug pastangų galės vadinti naujaisiais namais. ⠀

Have you ever wanted to get on the property ladder? Ever wanted to buy a house in Italy? How about if it was only €1?
In theory I'd love to have seen the advert from the mayor of Montenello, in his efforts to revitalise the local community. For just one euro, you could purchase a house that needed large amounts of renovations, and need to be able to contribute to the local community.
It's a wonderful idea, and until last year I'd never seen a book featuring this sort of plot, but this is now the third I've read, so at the back of my mind were unfair comparisons, as they are all incredibly different.
I loved the location for this book, a small hill top town, near to Puglia. And applicants that were chosen to move into the town, all had completely different reasons for taking the plunge.
Each chapter is split into sections between the three hopeful new residents of the town, and also the town's mayor, all nicely labelled and allowing you to get to know all the key people really quickly and easily.
I loved all of the delicious descriptions of Italian food, there are a couple of small restaurants that made tasty sounding food that had my tummy rumbling. Added to the picturesque and vivid descriptions of the town itself, I felt as though I was there, soaking in the sun, looking at the crumbling buildings and eating the meals alongside our intrepid characters.
From the moment I started the book I was hooked, I just love Nicky Pellegrino's writing and this was no exception. It is full of love for a small town in Southern Italy and I enjoyed everything, from the initial discussions about the advert for these houses at only a Euro, to the first views of their assigned properties and then just trying to work out if this was a completely mad idea or not!
I also really enjoyed the story-lines involving the mayor's assistant, who is rather wily and clearly knows more about everything than he tries to let onto immediately, the re-discovering of Italian roots, the regeneration of this town. But most of all i adored Donna Carmela, the mayor's mother, who is a master matchmaker, wonderful cook and just all around friendly person full of great advice. Donna brought a great warmth to any scene she was in.
Another incredibly enjoyable book from an author who I always love to read. If you have ever dreamt of owning your own corner of Italy, then this is certainly the book for you too!!

Vasara norisi lengvų skaitinių? Ar čia įtaka karantino, kuris neleidęs iškeliauti atostogų, neatima bent skaitymo malonumo? 🙂 Svarbu, jog knygos suteikia galimybę puslapiais keliauti ten kur tik širdis geidžia! Šįkart atostogų kryptis Italija!
Mažas Italijos kalnų miestelis, visų užmirštas ir apleistas. Vietiniai emigravo bėgdami nuo skurdo, palikdami didžiulius namus tuščius ir apleistus. (Ar tikrai tik dėl to, o gal yra kažkokia paslaptis?) Gal miestelis taip ir būtų likęs tik “vaiduoklis”, jei ne jaunas meras pasiryžęs atgaivinti vietovę, įkvėpti naujų vėjų ir pasikviesti naujakurių iš svetur. Paskelbiama, jog parduodami namai vos už 1 eurą su sąlyga, kad naujieji gyventojai privalo juos suremontuoti per trejus metus. Atsiranda daugybė norinčiųjų, bet atrenkamos tik keturios užklausos.
Čia visas pasakojimas ir sukasi apie atsirinktus žmones: kas jie? kuo gyvena? kas privertė ieškoti prieglobsčio po kaitria Italijos saule? Kiekvienas su savo išskirtinia istorija, kiekvienas galintis kažkuo prisidėti prie senstančio miestelio.
Knyga man patiko. Toks lengvas vasaros pasakojimas su gražia istorija, nuostabiu itališku maistu, šilta atmosfera, apie draugystę, savęs atradimą ir apsisprendimą. Vasaros vakarams, tiesiog tobula knyga! Ypač kai norisi nesukti galvos klaidžiojant sudėtingų tekstų vingiais, o tiesiog mėgautis gražiu kūriniu 🙂
Nors anksčiau nebuvau skaičiusi nei vienos šios autorės knygos (o jos jau išleistos net 5), bet man patiko tas lengvas rašymo stilius ir net pagalvojau, kad norėčiau ir kitų jos knygų! Juk kartais taip norisi tiesiog gražios, bet ne banalios istorijos 🙂

Nicky Pellegrino "Itališka svajonė"
Visų pirma pačios didžiausios pagyros knygos viršeliui! Jis toks vasariškas ir kviečiantis atostogauti bei keliauti!
Ar ryžtumėtės pirkti namą už vieną eurą puikioje vietoje ir apversti savo gyvenimą aukštyn kojomis? Vieno mažo miestelio Italijoje meras pasiryžta viską pakeisti ir įpūsti savo gimtajam miesteliui naują gyvybę. Jis pakviečia užsieniečius įsigyti namus Italijoje mainais už apsigyvenimą Montenele.
Netrukus Montenelo miestelyje apsigyvena keletas naujakurių, kuriems tai galimybė pradėti viską nuo pradžių. Galiu tik isduoti, kad visiems šis pokytis labai reikalingas :)
Italija yra mano svajonė, kurią tikiuosi kada nors įgyvendinti ir būtinai aplankyti :) Tad skaityti apie šią šalį man visad labai smagu ir net nepajuntu, kaip dingsta laiko pojūtis:) Mane tiesiog sužavėjo visi knygos veikėjai, jų svajonės ir kelionė link naujojo savo gyvenimo :)

Nicky Pellegrino is one my favourite authors, so I was over the moon when I got an invitation to join the blog tour!
This is a wonderful book that instantly transported me to Italy, and to the thought of buying my own house for one euro. I’ve seen the newspaper articles about this and I’ve wondered if I’d have the nerve to actually do it.
I liked all the characters in this book, but Salvio, Augusto, Donna Carmela, Elise and Edward were my absolute favourites. I loved the working relationship Salvio and Augusto had, and just like Salvio wondered what was bothering Augusto so much. I love Donna Carmela’s no nonsense attitude with her son and the house buyers who stayed at her holiday home. The food she cooked sounded delicious and so simple to cook! Elise was so sweet but definitely not a pushover in any way and Edward was delightful.
As always there were mouth watering descriptions of Italian food throughout the story making me want to reach into the book and eat it all.
I would love the author to write another book bringing more new people to Montenello and following up on these characters too. Please Nicky Pellegrino would you do that?🤞
I highly recommend this one, it’s perfect for the summer or later on in the winter months when you want a cheap winter break but can’t leave home!

July 27, 2022I can’t really give any stars to this book, because I don’t know how to feel about it… The characters were super shallow; they only wanted to date each other, because they thought the other was hot (everything was based on looks) and had no other connection/ common interests whatsoever. Overall I did like some characters (although most of them were insufferable) and I quite enjoyed the book. Wouldn’t reread tho.. and idk if I would recommend it..

So the scene is set to bring a host of characters to the town, each with their own backstory of complex reasons why they would want to live there. Mimi is a separated middle-aged woman looking for a new start now her children have left home. Edward and Gino are a gay couple from Sydney looking to reconnect with Gino’s family history. Elise and Richard are a young couple from Bristol who have never been able to get onto the property ladder, and to be frank suffer from Richard’s inherent pessimism.

Even op reis in je hoofd naar Italië. Italië het land van de passie, lekker eten, lekkere wijnen en vooral ook veel gezelligheid.
Dit alles maak je mee in dit mooie, meeslepende verhaal. Het concept is origineel bedacht, de burgemeester wou nieuw leven vpblazen in Montenello en voor nog geen kopje koffie kan je een huis aanschaffen. Het begin van de verhalen over Mimi, Gino en Edward, Elise en uiteraard ook over het stadje Montenello. De hoofdstukken wisselen zich continu af. Je volgt het wel en wee en je waant je echt wel in de warmere Italiaanse sferen. Je proeft Montenello in al zijn charmes.
Zeker een aanrader!

Kartais pakeisti savo gyvenimą kainuoja pigiau, nei nusipirkti kavinėje kavos. Vienas euras ir turi namą Italijoje. Savo namą Italijoje. Tiesa, su papildoma sąskaitą naujai perskaičiuotam likimui.
Tai šviesi, pozityvi, Italijos aura apgaubta istorija, į kurią tiesiog norisi imti ir įlįsti. Užuosti, paragauti, išgirsti. Pagyventi. Kiekvieno veikėjo likimas vis kitoks, patrupintas skauduliais, pabraižytas kasdienybės, įlaužtas ar įlenktas, bet ne tiek, kad vargintų, veikiau, jog primintų, kad nėra žmogaus be savo širdgėlos kuprinės. Čia žodžiuose bei jų šėsėliuose šmėžuoja vilties ir "laimingos pabaigos" kodas. Tiesiog jauti, kad kartu su apgriuvusio namuko durimis atrakinsi ir kitokį gyvenimą, jog remontuodamas miestelį, suremontuosi ir savo nesėkmes. Knyga apie atsitiktinumus, naujas pradžias išaugusias iš nugyventų pabaigų, apie draugystes, bendrystę, bendruomenę ir norą gyventi. Nepamiršta ne tik skanaus maisto, Italijos šilumos, bet ir prietarų galios.
REKOMENDUOJU, jei ieškote skaitinio, kuris jus šildytų iš vidaus - saulėti puslapiai, Italijos kaimo ritmas, mažos paslaptėlės ir nuojauta, kad viskas bus gerai.
NEREKOMENDUOJU, jei mėgstate, kai veiksmas veja veiksmą ar vyrauja konkretus įvykio siužetas. Ne, manau, jog čia gyvena pasakojimas, kuris panašesnis į ištrauką iš kelių veikėjų kasdienybės, lengvas tų kasdienybių prasilenkimas, susipynimas ir susijungimas. Tai gana rami istorija, kuri savy talpina daug įvykių, bet tuo pačiu, regis, skaitytoją vedžioja jų paviršiukais.
O man tai buvo knyga, kuri nukrito labai laiku ir vietoje. Kai gyvenime į duris pasibeldė naujos pradžios, nešdamos ne tik galimybes, bet ir chaosą, buvo labai gera perskaityti tokį šviesų ir malonų kūrinį. Netikiu, kad jo siužetas, detalės ir vardai ilgam užsiliks galvoje, bet tas knygos prisilietimas, malonumas skaitant ir jausmas, kad pataikei - tikrai paglostys, vos akys pamatys kažkur horizontuose blykstelint viršelį. Kuris, beje, ir pats man be galo malonus. Tai nebuvo knyga, kuri bent kiek papurtė, greičiau atvirkščiai - jutau, kaip mane supa, liūliuoja ir nuneša į svajonių pasaulį. Ar aš pirkčiau aklai namuką Italijoje? Kurį man priskirtų? Ar įsiliečiau į bendruomenę? Beje, kalbant apie bendruomenę, pliusą pridedu už tai, kad kaip vienus iš galimų naujakurių, meras atrinko LGBT+ bendruomenės narius. Vieną, kitą, trečią kartą šmėžt romane ir, manau, su laiku bus išjudinti stereotipai, kad širdį galima kontroliuoti. Džiaugiuosi, kad romanų autoriai imasi šios misijos.
Kartais pakeisti savo gyvenimą kainuoja pigiau, nei nusipirkti kavinėje kavos. Vienas euras ir turi namą Italijoje. Savo namą Italijoje. Tiesa, su papildoma sąskaitą naujai perskaičiuotam likimui.

Nepamiršta ne tik skanaus maisto, Italijos šilumos, bet ir prietarų galios.
REKOMENDUOJU, jei ieškote skaitinio, kuris jus šildytų iš vidaus - saulėti puslapiai, Italijos kaimo ritmas, mažos paslaptėlės ir nuojauta, kad viskas bus gerai.
NEREKOMENDUOJU, jei mėgstate, kai veiksmas veja veiksmą ar vyrauja konkretus įvykio siužetas. Ne, manau, jog čia gyvena pasakojimas, kuris panašesnis į ištrauką iš kelių veikėjų kasdienybės, lengvas tų kasdienybių prasilenkimas, susipynimas ir susijungimas. Tai gana rami istorija, kuri savy talpina daug įvykių, bet tuo pačiu, regis, skaitytoją vedžioja jų paviršiukais.
O man tai buvo knyga, kuri nukrito labai laiku ir vietoje. Kai gyvenime į duris pasibeldė naujos pradžios, nešdamos ne tik galimybes, bet ir chaosą, buvo labai gera perskaityti tokį šviesų ir malonų kūrinį. Netikiu, kad jo siužetas, detalės ir vardai ilgam užsiliks galvoje, bet tas knygos prisilietimas, malonumas skaitant ir jausmas, kad pataikei - tikrai paglostys, vos akys pamatys kažkur horizontuose blykstelint viršelį. Kuris, beje, ir pats man be galo malonus. Tai nebuvo knyga, kuri bent kiek papurtė, greičiau atvirkščiai - jutau, kaip mane supa, liūliuoja ir nuneša į svajonių pasaulį. Ar aš pirkčiau aklai namuką Italijoje? Kurį man priskirtų? Ar įsiliečiau į bendruomenę? Beje, kalbant apie bendruomenę, pliusą pridedu už tai, kad kaip vienus iš galimų naujakurių, meras atrinko LGBT+ bendruomenės narius. Vieną, kitą, trečią kartą šmėžt romane ir, manau, su laiku bus išjudinti stereotipai, kad širdį galima kontroliuoti. Džiaugiuosi, kad romanų autoriai imasi šios misijos.

This was so lovely. The characters were lovely, relatable and not too over the top. I especially enjoyed the gay couple (Edward and Gino).It didn't feel like the author tried too hard to be inclusive or desperately wanted to add diversity to her story by including a gay couple. Their storyline had some cliché elements to it (which is a given as it's a romance novel), but I think the author incorporated that into the plot in a realistic way. So absolutely well done!
And while reading it felt like I was transported to Italy with its lovely culture, the food, the atmosphere of a small Italian mountain village... Definitely recommending this book if you want to read a easy summer romance while tanning on the beach.
