Honey Creek #2

Picnic in Someday Valley

Rate this book
Travel to the small town of Honey Creek where ties run deep and happiness is just around the next river bend…

Marcie Latimer longs to run away from Someday Valley—especially since her ex-boyfriend spun a web of lies that almost led to tragedy in neighboring Honey Creek. Little wonder so many locals have turned their backs on her. But not Brand Rodgers. The quiet cowboy comes to listen every time she sings at Bandit’s Bar, offering a glimpse of safety and calm that Marcie’s rarely known.

After Texas Ranger Colby McBride saved Honey Creek’s mayor, Piper Mackenzie, from a fire, she claimed him with a kiss. That was five months ago, and Colby still isn’t sure where they’re headed. Piper loves her town—but does she love Colby? And is he even ready for what comes next?

Pecos Smith, Honey Creek’s emergency dispatcher, is grateful to have a new bride he adores and a baby on the way—even if one vital piece of the puzzle is missing. But as trouble comes stalking through the valley, lives will cross surprising paths. And Marcie, who’s always felt that a forever love was out of reach, might discover that Someday is the perfect place to find it . . .

Marcie Latimer wants to leave Someday Valley, especially since her ex boyfriend was convicted of a terrifying fire in nearby Honey Creek. People in the town mostly want nothing to do with Marcie. One exception is Wayne who owns the bar where she sings and plays guitar. The other is Brand Rodgers who often comes to listen to Marcie sing. But he is a hard person to get to know. Plus Marcie feels no-one will ever see the real Marcie and love her for who she is.
Two other couples make up this story. Piper, the mayor, who was rescued from the fire in Honey creek by Colby McBride , who is now a Texas Ranger in Austin. There is more than a flicker of passion between them. The other couple is Pecos and Kerrie. Though Pecos is married to Kerrie he is not the father of the baby she is carrying. But he has always loved her and is happy to make the child his. Only Marcie and Pecos know he is not the real father. Twenty year old Pecos is a dispatcher who handles 911 calls. The other main characters are Jesse, father of three whose wife died giving birth to their last child several years back. Jesse is devoted to his three children but recently he is finding himself attracted to Adalee who looks after her young teenage sister Star. Then there is the violent rapist and killer, Leon.
Although there was an earlier book in this series, this book is my first encounter with these characters although I quickly got to know and like most of them. Certainly not the serial rapist who likes to elaborate in detail about what he wants to do to this victims before, during and after he rapes them. I found this graphic detail hard to read and unnecessary. The other thing was minor but still annoying with repeated references to one of the characters being like a koala bear. Good luck with that since no such animal exists. It’s not that hard for authors to get it right and find they are simply koalas not related to bears at all. Apart from this two issues, this was an enjoyable read. But the graphic violence descriptions pulled my rating down a bit. I liked the multiple romances and characters and setting.

Jodi Thomas takes us into the hearts and homes of several of the townsfolk of Someday Valley (in book 2 of the Honey Creek series.)

Piper McKenzie and Colby McBride put a capital M in Miscommunication (less sizzle, more talking people!!)

Sultry Marcie Latimer learns to fight (and kick!) back when ex-marine, Brand Rodgers, teaches her some strategic kickboxing moves (and that she is worthy of all the love he can give her!)

As for Pecos and his "beauty queen fallen on hard times"/"pregnant by another man" wife: they'll be so busy with the new baby and Pecos's two jobs and his studies that I'd be thrilled if they get enough sleep, as opposed to finally "getting it on."

Adalee and Jesse are a "bewitching" pair who can only fulfill their deepest desires for one another in their dreams. (This was actually one of my favourite story lines. (Suggestion: the recipe for those insanely good scones that kept luring Jesse back for more should be included in the final edition!) The only reason I am rating this one a 3.9 out of 5 is because Adalee and Jesse needed their family and friends to step up and volunteer their baby sitting services so that these two overworked and over-burdened lovers could do more than just kiss, pine and dream! We get a taste of what these two have in store as their relationship progresses, but I wanted "more please!"

A highly enjoyable read for fans of Jodi Thomas and her unique world. My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Although ‘chick lit’ is far from my favorite genre, charming‘Picnic in Someday Valley’ by talented author, Jodi Thomas will make a delightful beach read with several worthwhile discussion themes for book clubs.

Warmth and family, friendship and love… All the good things are here…

This isn’t one couple finding romance but three very different sets of people, and circumstances, all trying to find their way in life. And love… Small town life was never so good, or so darn complicated…

I’d be hard pressed to declare a favourite but if I had to, Marcie and Brand snicked a bit ahead. Mysterious, quiet and unbelievably strong and protective, Brand was a balm to Marcie’s soul. She was no fragile flower, far from it, but in those most desperate hours, a hero cowboy would not be turned away… Pecos and his new bride were quietly finding their way as well. He’d loved her for years and couldn’t believe he had a chance… Piper and Colby. Well, their way was hampered by distance and lack of plain speaking. Thank goodness they had the opportunity to figure it out.

Told in this author’s signature straight and no nonsense style, I loved the quiet unfolding of stories laced with warmth, humour and all the foibles that live in man and life. There were anxious moments but these stories had me glued to the pages with the sheer emotion so calmly shared.. An abrupt ending meant I left this story, this valley, way too quickly for my liking but I have a book to catch up on and another to look forward to in this series…~Diane, 4.5 stars

As soon as I open and read the first page of Picnic in Someday Valley by Jodi Thomas I am totally in. It's like coming home and being able to rest in the arms of a storyteller who will spin a good yarn. For a start the cover draws me in, and as it will turn out, it is very relevant to the story of one of the characters.

It's really a good time read. The characters are both sweet and tough. There is one bad guy out to do a lot of damage and he provides the suspense in the story. But maybe he's about to meet his match from an unlikely source.

Yes there are lots of characters but it's easy to follow and stay up to date with them. Some get happy at least for now endings and I sense there is more to come for others that I need to know, so expecting more for them in another book. Honey Creek #3 I am looking for you.

Full of small town goodness, Texas flavour and characters to cheer for and chuckle at appropriate times.

Reading this book really does feel like catching up with friends and neighbors at a Sunday afternoon picnic. Thomas is a master at creating communities, especially small Texas communities, then populating them with complex characters and intriguing storylines. I become invested in her characters, both primary and secondary; by the end of the book I feel as though I've made new friends. I find myself emotionally attached and am eager to discover where life will take them next. There are many such characters in Picnic in Someday Valley. And then there's the town itself. Thomas's descriptions are so detailed, her sense of place so acute that if I close my eyes, I can convince myself I'm actually there in Honey Creek.

This is the second book in Thomas's Honey Creek trilogy. It can be read on its own but I encourage you to first read book one: Breakfast at the Honey Creek Cafe. Some of the continuing storylines begin in that book and carry through book two while others begin in book two and will hopefully carry through to the third book in the trilogy. My enjoyment of Picnic in Someday Valley was richer and my understanding of several characters (and character relationships) deeper after I read book one. Now I'm counting down the weeks until book three, Dinner on Primrose Hill releases on October 26th. I have no doubt it will be another enjoyable trip to Honey Creek where old friends welcome you back and new ones are ready to make your acquaintance.

I really enjoyed this book. I read Breakfast at the Honey Creek Cafe and loved it. Picnic in Someday Valley did not disappoint!

Every character in this book has their own unique storyline that seamlessly melds into each other.
Piper and Colby, Marcie and Brand, Pecos and Kerri, and Jesse and Adalee are great characters that readers will enjoy.
I do hope that Jesse and Adalee's storyline continues, because I was left wanting more.
I would definitely like to visit a place like Honey Creek. Jodi Thomas did a wonderful job of writing the town as a close knit community. I am looking forward to the next book in this series and while I am sure we will be introduced to new characters, I hope we get to experience more of the ones who have came to know and love.

Picnic in Someday Valley by Jodi Thomas picked up the stories of Piper and Colby, Pecos and Kerrie, and Marcie a few months after Breakfast at the Honey Creek Cafe. It was another entertaining and compelling read as more of their life stories unfold in daily reports/chapters from the characters' point of view.

Ms. Thomas writing is smoothly paced and her descriptive writing pulled me in to each of the characters' story as their thoughts and feelings are revealed. I was captivated with Marcie and Brad's story as I really wanted to know more about Marcie and this solo cowboy who was there for her when everyone else had abandoned her after the first book in this series. Piper and Colby kept me feeling frustrated as they so badly needed to "talk" and couldn't get past their pride and career duties. Pecos and Kerrie were adorable but Pecos deserved more from her and I have hopes that will come in future books. Jesse and Adalee were new characters and I hope to see more of them in the next book. The dramatic ending made me feel so proud of Marcie when she raced to save Piper and together they saved themselves. I couldn't put this book down and I'm already looking forward to the next one in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Zebra Books via NetGalley. All of the above opinions are my own.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my early review. Jodi Thomas is a new writer to me and I appreciated a chance to read her work. I was compelled to finish the book because of the well-written characters despite the strongly offensive violence that came into the book out of nowhere. This is why it is a two star and I debated on whether it should really be a one or less. I may not read any other books by this writer because of the offensive element surprisingly included in this book.

Picnic in Someday Valley should have earned three or four stars because it is filled with wonderful characters. Jodi Thomas's characters are well written and are discovering how to love again after personal struggles. You want to root for and get to know each of the main characters Marcie, Jesse, Colby, Pecos and Piper along with the minor characters Brand, Adalee, Winston, Star and the Sheriff. The book is flawed by lacking a single plot - it is more like five short stories loosely connected. But, the book's disorganization could have worked if more details were put in to connect everything and it would have been a very pleasant experience - if the author chose to not to change the book for the worse about 70 percent into it.

So you read along and want to see what is going to happen in the five separate romantic stories and then POW! {Spoiler Alert} Leon, a serial rapist, targets Marcie and there is graphic description of his plan to torture her, brutally stabbing her, to smear her with her own blood and repeatedly rape her over several days. He kidnaps and plans to burn alive her friend Piper, the mayor, and calls Marcie on the phone to come and rescue Piper because he really wants to torture Marcie, but Piper is like a bonus? I thoroughly object to rape and violence against women in books and television, because it ONLY serves to encourage real-life Leons to act and I don't need or want to read this. Prevalence of this garbage, makes it commonplace. Instead, we should be outraged by this and NEVER think it is acceptable as "entertainment." It is not. Writers should not use it as a cheap trick just thrown in to thicken the plot.

It's not fair to readers who think they are getting a nice western style romance with first responder heroes, only to get this thoroughly disgusting stuff thrown in just for effect. The author tries to redeem herself by Marcie's growing confidence and her bravely defending herself against Leon, acting to save the day. This is a small concession given the level of violence included. There may be a proper way to write about violence against women, but this was not it. If the last 30 percent of the book was like the rest, this would have been a very good book. Maybe a re-write should occur.

Author Jodi Thomas is a superb storyteller who never disappoints and often amazes. After reading "Breakfast at the Honey Creek Cafe", Book One in the "Honey Creek Series", I knew the next book would also be a wonderful read, but I have to say: Wow! "Picnic in Someday Valley" is a real reader's treat, with all the "bells and whistles"--and then some. The small-town Texas setting gives an immediate sense of place. Characterizations are so vivid that you'd swear the author is reading their minds instead of creating their identities. Piper Jane Mackenzie, born into politics and public service, is still the mayor of Honey Creek. Recent tumultuous events in the community had brought about much change for the residents--especially Piper. Surviving scandal, an attempt on her life, and being rescued by a handsome state trooper sent by her two Texas Ranger brothers was a lot to deal with, and there was more to come. Trooper Colby McBride was now a Texas Ranger, a dream come true, but one that kept him away from Piper more than either one of them wanted. They were both married to their careers, and matters of the heart frequently gave way to matters of business. Marcie Latimer, who lived in nearby Someday Valley, was a young woman whose heart and trust had been broken more than once. She had been an unwilling player in the sick scheme of the man who had threatened Piper. Marcie, who was trying to find her place in the world, was a talented singer and guitar player, and she had one special fan who came to her shows at the bar where she worked. Brand Rodgers, a tall, quiet man with rock-hard muscles and cowboy stoicism, saw everything in Marcie that she didn't see in herself. Brand was a patient man--a man of hidden depths--and he would wait for Marcie to come into her own as he watched out for her. Pecos Smith, a young man with a big heart, and great determination, had married Kerrie, the girl he loved who was pregnant with another man's child. Both of their families disapproved, but Pecos knew in his heart that if they kept moving forward, no matter how slow the pace, someday love would find its way. These three couples, plus a great group of supporting characters, will once again face danger and uncertainty as new threats come to light. How will they resolve the obstacles they face? Jodi Thomas fills her stories with humor, elements of surprise, poignancy, and, of course, passionate romance and true love. It's that trademark element of surprise, combined with masterful storytelling, that keeps readers coming back for more. I look forward to future Texas tales in the highly enjoyable "Honey Creek Series"..

A delightful read with wonderful characters.
Well-written and engaging, “Picnic in Someday Valley”, by Jodi Thomas (Kensington Books/Zebra), is a captivating story or stories, and I couldn’t put it down.
There is more than one romantic couple in the story and I wasn’t expecting to like it so much: the characters are all very different, yet all have a core of integrity and a passion that is so sexy when we find it in these devoted, besotted heroes.
I found each of these characters compelling and the romances unique and moving. Some of the stories are downright romantic in the classic sense, some have supposedly alpha, protective heroes (Brandon) making the most appalling Beta proclamations and turning into endearing male characters.
I was rooting for Jesse and his deserving a second chance at love and happiness and found Colby and Piper’s relationship passionate, confusing and absorbing.
This was very easy to read and love and I didn’t mind the stereotypes at all.

I received a copy of this book through the Goodreads First Reads giveaway program. This is my honest review.

Reading Picnic in Someday Valley was like reading a soap opera. The story rotated through perspectives and relationships, always leaving me hanging wanting just a little bit more from the current perspective. A part of me would have preferred fewer perspectives and relationships so I could get more in depth with them, but the lives are so intertwined in this small valley that I would've been missing information had the story been told that way.

Picnic in Someday Valley by Jodi Thomas
327-page Paperback story ends on page 321
Honey Creek #2

Genre: Romance > Contemporary Romance; Women's Fiction > Chick Lit; Mystery > Cozy Mystery; Humor, Adult Fiction

Featuring: Texas, Small-Town, Mayor, Multiple POVs, Times of Day, Sex - Closed Door, Violence, Multiple Storylines, Next Book Preview - Dinner on Primrose Hill

Rating as a movie: R for suggestive language and descriptions of violence and sexual assault

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

My thoughts: 📖 Page 25 of 321/327 Ch. 4 - Nice to see some familiar faces; however, I didn't realize how weak the plot is since the characters were so cute. Dialogue is terrible, but I'm sticking with it for now. You most definitely need to read these books in order.
📖 54 Ch. 10 - I don't know how long it's going to take for this to heat up but I'm not a fan of the ingredients. Pecos is coming off as creepy and Piper's thought process makes little sense at all. It's very repetitive. 🔖Page 22 - He was a lucky man. Twenty years old. 🔖Page 23 - Pecos was twenty, he was a man, he wanted more. Page 47 - He might be twenty, but Kerrie didn't turn nineteen for another month. 🔖Page 49 - He was twenty. He was a man, but he'd wait until she was ready for them to be lovers. 💤 It's like I'm reading the same chapters over and over with no progression in the story.
📖 228 Ch. 36 - It has gotten better but there are 4 storylines, one is good, one is okay and the other two are continuations from the first book riddled with inconsistencies and repetitions. I would have skipped Pecos chapters if I could, you can't because the storylines intersect.

This book was off to a two-star read until I got to the halfway point. After that, it got a lot better. I will be continuing the series. I considered giving up, but the second half made me very hopeful for book 3.

Recommend to others?: Maybe. I'm mostly attracted to the beautiful titles and pretty covers. The stories aren't bad.

Another wonderful, sweet, and exciting romance. This is the second title in another series which is very much like Harmony and Ransom Canyon series. Each chapter is narrated by a different person in a small town in Texas and each book covers the love stories of a few of the residents. You feel like you get to know everyone in town and are excited when you see familiar names popping back up. The bad guys always get what they deserve and the good ones get the girls. I sometimes wonder how so many people can fall in love without really knowing much about the other people, but Thomas makes us feel like they do somehow. It’s nice to be able to pick up her books and immediately feel transported into a simpler life.

This particular title centered around Marcie, who was left pretty down at the end of the last book. She had been living with the bad guy, but no one believed she knew nothing of his plans and pretty much shunned her. Except one handsome cowboy, who it turned out had feelings for her for a long time. He helped her to believe in herself again. Pecos and his new wife had their baby and Colby and the mayor were wrapped up in craziness, as usual.

If you haven’t read a Jodi Thomas book yet, what’s stopping you? They’re a great escape. If I give one title 4 stars and the next is the series 5, will that make it 4.5 stars? Probably not, but that’s where I am.

Big thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Picnic in Someday Valley is the second book in the Honey Creek series, but it can be read as a standalone story. In the first story we met Texas Ranger Colby McBride who fell in love with Honey Creek's mayor, Piper Mackenzie. He has been sent out of town for work, but is heading back to Honey Creek for a short while with hopes of getting together with Piper. Pecos Smith, Honey Creek's emergency dispatcher married the woman he loved, Kerrie, in the first book, but it is a marriage to protect her as she was pregnant. Pecos wants a real marriage and he is prepared to be a father to their child. This book introduces us to Marcie Latimer. Marcie's boyfriend is in prison for setting a fire that almost killed the mayor and several others in the first book. She is living in a rundown trailer park, surviving by singing in the local bar. She is an outcast and is in danger, that she doesn't even realize. Brand Rodgers, is a quiet cowboy that keeps to himself, but he comes to listen every time she sings at Bandit's Bar. When she is at risk of an attack, Brand is there to protect her and invites her to stay at his ranch so she is safe. Will these three couples find love in Honey Creek?

I enjoyed Breakfast at the Honey Creek Café and was looking forward to catching up with the characters and seeing what else was happening. There is always some crime and danger in these books, but the crazy rapist/killer was not expected. He details what he wants to do to Marcie, and I think those details could have been left out. I really enjoy the characters in this series. Each book adds new ones and you get to see what life in Honey Creek is like for many of it's residents. Marcie is a great character. Even though she is a victim at the beginning, her strength, resilience and brains enable her to become more than she thought she could be. The romance is wonderful. I love Happily Ever Afters, and this book has more than one. We also meet Jesse, father of three whose wife died giving birth to their last child and Adalee who looks after her young teenage sister Star and runs the local bakery. I am hoping the next book will be their story. If you like books with community, friendship, new beginnings, romance and some danger and intrigue, then pick up Picnic in Someday Valley, or better yet, the Honey Creek series. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Julia Gibson. She is able to give voice to the various characters using accents, tone and expression that made this an enjoyable listening experience.

Picnic in Someday Valley by Jodi Thomas
Honey Creek #2

Charming small-town romance…well…more than one romance, really, and each pulled at my heartstrings in a different way. I so wanted each couple to find their happily ever after though a few still have some hiccoughs to work out. There was a conclusion that was not a cliffhanger but there is still more I need to know about the characters so do hope to hear more about them in future books of the series.

What I liked:
* Someday Valley, Texas: a wonderful town filled with people I would love to know.
* Marcie: a bit broken and down on her luck, plucky, loving, kind, has hidden strengths, good friend, so deserving of the Brand.
* Brand: strong silent type, deep, multi-layered, lethal, capable, devoted, one-woman man, REALLY liked him.
* Piper and Colby: long distance relationships don’t work easily and I am rooting for them to find a way to be together more often in future books of the series
* Pecos and Kerrie: Young couple expecting their first child, loving, kind, deserve a happy future together.
* Adalee and Jesse: this is one couple I hope can BE a couple in the future and hope to hear more about them in the future
* Star: Adalee’s younger sister, loves animals, good with children, has potential
* Jesse’s children
* Piper’s brothers: wonder if they will get stories of their own in the future
* That the bad guy was caught – he was REALLY creepy!
* That I felt I was part of the story – or could have been
* Catching up with some of the characters from the previous book
* All of it really except…

What I didn’t like:
* The creep I was meant to dislike
* Knowing that real people experience some of the bad things that happened to some of the characters in this book
* having to wait to find out what will ultimately happen with some of the couples

Did I like this book? Definitely
Will I read more in this series/by this author? As soon as I can!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Zebra for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Picnic in Someday Valley (A Honey Creek Novel) by Jodi Thomas was an enjoyable romance with a bit of action through out the pages.

The story revolved around four people. Marcie who has had a tough life and was not use to people being nice to her. Colby McBride who was dating the mayor of Honey Creek and whose relationship seemed to be deteriorating. Pecos who had a very busy life attending school, being a dispatcher, helping his wife’s grandfather, and waiting for his baby to be born. Jessie whose raising his three children after his wife has passed. I loved all the characters in the book and their chemistry with each other worked well. The author is a good writer and the book moved along. I liked how the author wrapped the storylines up, and yet left room to write about them again in a future book.

My review is voluntary and all comments and opinions expressed are my own.

This is the second book in the Honey Creek series. I loved the first book, and was excited about a second. This one had a difficult time holding my attention. While I enjoyed it, the story was in so many points of view, it was hard for me to follow the story. The writing was good, and I loved the characters from the previous book, coming back in this one, and I liked getting to know the new characters. But, it seemed like this book was in every characters point of view. But, I was completely hooked in the last few chapters, and couldn’t put it down until I finished. I’ll definitely check out any other books in this series, as I feel invested in the characters lives now. It’s definitely worth a read if you don’t mind the multiple points of view. The overall story is really good.

This is the second book in the series set in Someday Valley, Texas. Some of the events mentioned in this review began in the first book, but I don't think it is necessary to read the first book to enjoy this one. There are four couples in this book whose relationships are in various stages. This book starts off with a bang and builds until the end. I am focusing on the romance in this review but there are also some bad guys, danger, and a mystery.

Marcie Latimer is looked down upon by people in the small town that she grew up in, partly because of her parents and how she grew up, and most recently because she was involved in a scandal that involved the mayor's fiance. Marcie really broke my heart as the reader finds out more about her and her life. She now works for the owner of her dad's old cafe, waiting tables and singing a few nights a week.

Brandon Rogers is a quiet man who likes to listen to Marcie sing. He isn't too well known to many people in Honey Creek, even though he went to school there. One night he helps Marcie out of a tight situation and they begin to get to know each other. There is more to both of them than almost anyone around them knows. They have a beautiful love story, more so because no one in her life had ever really cherished and protected Marcie.

The mayor of Honey Creek, Piper MacKenzie, is tired of waiting for Colby MacBride, now a Texas Ranger. They grew close during the drama of the events in book 1 but now she hasn't seen him in months. That is about to change. Maybe because they have so little time together, theirs has seemed to me to be the weakest love story in the series - so far.

Pecos Smith and his new bride Kerrie are both just out of high school. Pecos is one of the sweetest, most loveable characters in any book I've ever read. Kerrie became pregnant and left home because her parents did not take the news well. Pecos came to her rescue, although it wasn't his baby. He graduated from high school and got a job as a dispatcher for the police department in Honey Creek. Kerrie is uncomfortable and close to delivering. Pecos is wondering if he will ever be a lover as well as a husband.

The fourth couple was introduced in this book. Jesse is a busy single father of three who barely has time to breathe. Adalee works in a bakery and her scones are already famous in town. She is raising her 15-year-old sister who is a handful. I can already tell that their love story will be fabulous.

I highly recommend this series and am hoping to see more of these characters in the next book. My thanks go out to Kensington Books and Netgalley for giving me an ARC of this book. I was delighted to read and review it.

I read the last book in the series before reading the second one overall, this is an enjoyable read I just didn't enjoy the Piper character as much in this book. Yet I get over the progression of the series she does improve. I did really enjoy Marcie, as we watched her growth from the beginning of the book until the end. This book could be triggering to some people. I would recommend it to others.

Another great book of love stories. My only complaint is because there are multiple stories in the book a couple of them felt rushed. I know they will most likely be continued in the next book, though.

Ohmahgawd.

I started this series for something lighter. I have been reading a lot of murder & mayhem. Boy was I off.

What a fabulous read. I love the suspense thrown into the story. I love the town and the characters. I love the multiple storylines. I could not put this book down. Such a fantastic series. It’s been a long while since I read this author and boy am I glad I picked this up. So much fun! Can’t wait for more.

Of course it’s a great story. Jodi wrote it! She’s always been a good friend, but she’s an even better author. Each new book is as good or if possible, better than the last one.

Picnic in Someday Valley by Jodi Thomas is the 2nd book in the Honey Creek romance series, and another great read. This book covers three couples romance stories, along with a mystery or two. Piper and Colby, Pecos and Kerrie, and Marcie and Brand. I found this book to be fun with many twists and turns, that kept me reading. I liked the first book, Breakfast at the Honey Creek Café, because it had more suspense, but I loved catching up with the couples in this book. The plot and characters are well developed, and I enjoy the quirky characters in this book. I highly recommend this book, and am looking forward to the next book in the series, and other books by this author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
