I don't normally give books a negative review, but I just had to put this out there so people know what they are getting into since most of the reviews are, in my opinion, misleading. This review might contain spoilers, so proceed with caution.

I first stopped reading this book at chapter 4 because I just couldn't get into the writing, but after a few months, I decided to give it another go and really see what the hype is about. I know the author has another book published and it has a lot of five-star reviews, so I really wanted to experience what other readers were experiencing. The blurb for this book seemed promising and the reviews did, too.

However, I fully gave up on the story on chapter 19, and I personally won't be reading from this author again for the following reasons.

This book was WAY too repetitive. It was basically "Moon Goddess" this and "Moon Goddess" that, "my pussy" this and "my pussy" that, but it was mostly "I clenched" and "my pussy clenched". I could not stop rolling my eyes because EVERY paragraph had "I clenched", "Moon Goddess" and "my pussy clenched" like for the love of God, this was so cringey to read! Overusing "pussy" and "clenched" does not make this erotic. It makes it hard to read.

Another thing that really irritated me was Ares or Mars or whatever he wants to call himself. He was your typical arrogant asshole. For me, there was zero chemistry between the two main characters. Ares, especially, saw Aurora as more of a body than his "mate". He just shoves his fingers inside her whenever he likes, eats her out whenever he wants and fucks her with no questions. Is she really his mate or his whore? We constantly got told that he is "so dominant" but we never see anything to justify why or how. "Commanding" people to do something doesn't automatically make you dominant. Neither does being "rough" during sex.

Aurora was another character that I personally disliked. She was constantly contradicting herself and that made it really difficult to connect with her. One moment she hates Ares and the next she's drooling over him. One moment he's the worst creature ever and the next "Moon Goddess, I want him". The inconsistencies are just overwhelming.

And then there are the sex scenes. People are hyping them so much that it was honestly disappointing when I got to read the book because I had such high expectations. The sex was bland and repetitive. It was also meaningless and sometimes cringe-worthy. Sex does not make a story, but that's what people choose to focus on apparently.

The author had an interesting idea, but she horribly killed it with a cliche male character, annoying female lead, repetitive phrases, and immature writing.

Final word: don't believe the ratings.

DNF at 55% I wanted mindless fun. This was definitely mindless.
I'm not usually mean about books I've read because I think that the author went to such trouble to actually write it, I can at least be polite.
However I am 90% convinced this is a chatgpt told to write paranormal erotica. Badly.
Ares/ Mars was an alpha hole. Not dominant, just a jerk. Other than being attractive he seemed to have no redeeming personality features. He was needlessly violent, demanding respect yet allowed Aurora to talk back to him disrespectfully in front of others?
Aurora was whiny, high maintenance and alternated her opinions so often got whiplash. I didn't get that far but she either had a VERY unnatural relationship with her cat or Ruffles was her brother reincarnated or something. He was mentioned far too often to just be a pet.
Also, as mentioned by another reviewer, the constant repetition of the same words over and over. I actually counted.
C*ck was said 67 times. P*ssy was said 93 times. Goddess/ moon goddess a whopping 118 times! And the word clench was said 85 times. She clenched her p*ssy so often her kegel muscles should've just sucked Ares right up.

Meh

This started off strong, but got worse and worse and worse as I read. So many things got brought up and dragged out. So many details that were focused on that didn't move the story forward. I got bored and lost but I made myself finish the book....then regretted that I finished it. I want to give the next one a chance just to see if it gets better....but asking myself if it would be a waste of my time.

This is a really fun take on fated mates and wolf shifters. I absolutely love the characters and the drama that unfolds and this setting.
Mars/Ares - (who we later find out has disassociative identity disorder) is the alpha of the east lands,
is notoriously known as a savage beast that destroys other packs.

Of course he ends up as the fated mate to female alpha- Aurora. A nineteen year old shifter who… can’t really shift.
During a horrible and tragic accident that left Aurora completely paralyzed, the only thing to save her life, was to put this very mystical rock in her spinal cord, to prevent her from being paralyzed from the neck down. This special rock is what all the rogues are after and so is Ares. He’s willing to do anything for this rock. And what people can only assume is for more power. They couldn’t be more wrong about him though…

Now the title, the cover, and even the premise of the book sounds kind of cheesy, but this book was so juicy and delicious that I absolutely ate it up in one night. Tons of spice. Banter. And hilarious moments with Ruffles… a pet cat.

Aurora and Aries do end up finding love pretty quickly, considering this is a series of books, but I am completely obsessed with the storyline and I cannot wait to see where it goes! Full of action and drama. I love it.

you’re telling me, i read 332 pages of this shit… just for it to end on a cliffhanger……………… you’re joking

i’m not joking when i tell you, i’ve read better fanfiction from 13 year olds who’s first language isn’t even english, and they’ve just gotten hit by a bus and that’s why they updated a week late. this book had poor writing, somehow had spelling and grammar mistakes, had horrible characters with zero depth to them, and probably one of the worst love stories i’ve ever read.

main man mars/ares, is presented as the big bag evil alpha man who will kill anyone… and oh no who would’ve guessed that he had a dark and traumatising past to explain why he’s so mad. honestly he sucked, but he got the most minuscule amount of character development and he wasn’t bad by the end of the book.

DONT EVEN GET ME FUCKING STARTED ON AURORA BRO!!!! she was the main character of the book, was mars/ares mate, presented as a “bad bitch”… but i couldn’t fucking stand her. every time she opened her mouth i wanted to fucking scream, she made no sense. one second, she hated ares/mars, next second she wanted to fuck like 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ DUDE HOW!?!?! plus she was legit so dumb and just stupid, like she hated on people for no reason, was a cunt to her dad while he was grieving, low key took advantage of mars/ares and was just low key a cunt the entire time. i could not stand her.

this book is a “romance” but literally has the worst romance I have ever fucking read in my entire life. I knew what I was getting myself into by reading an omegaverse book… but I did not know it could be THIS bad. for one, the main couple legit hated each other from the get go, then out of no where, they’re randomly in love. the way they both basically S/A’ed each other at least twice in this book blew my mind, and this was the most toxic shit i have ever seen. therefore, if you ever want to study what domestic violence and toxic relationships look like…… read this book. let’s please stop romanticising horrible, abusive relationships and celebrating when they do the bare minimum. people we can do better

the bit that was the most enjoyable about this book was two side characters (Charolette and Marcel) who had this like “omg we hate each other but we are actually just super attracted to each other” typa thing going on, and tbh THIS WAS BETTER THAN WHAT MARS/ARES AND AURORA HAD GOING ON!!!!!!

plus this book had so many good plot point they could’ve gone into but just didn’t. like, they just casually dropped that Aurora’s brother Jeremy was somehow alive even though she watched him die, but did not explain it at all. and the Elijah and Jeremy love story that they just skipped past, they full went “oh yeah they loved each other yadda yadda yadda” LIKE NO BACK THE FUCK UP!!!! I LIVE FOR THE YADDA YADDA GIVE IT TO MEEEE!!!!!! plus the whole Charolette and Marcel thing like bro… give me more!!!!! GIVE ME ACTUAL GOOD PLOT WHAT THE FUCKKKK!!!!!!

overall, i was going to drop this book when I got 50% through it, but decided to power through… i should’ve just dropped it. i read this book solely to make fun of it, and i did exactly that. this book made me want to scream, snap my kindle in half, and gauge my eyes out. i will never be the same.

this book isn’t worth it

Uuuum, this was...not good. I skimmed read the whole book and I didn't miss out on anything. The whole time I read I was thinking that this read like one of those FB stories ads that FB throws at you if you once read some. On one hand, the writing was really basic, on the other, it made it quick to read.
The romance was also not good and the smut got boring and repetitive after a while.

I got curious at the end with the cliffhanger but I will not read the rest of this series. Life's too short for me reading bad books.

Don’t read this. Don’t look at the cover and think “oh this could be fun to hate”. It’s not. Is everyone who rated this 4 or 5 stars high on something? Tell me you have never actually read a good book without telling me.

I couldn’t believe the author’s first language is english.
“I released myself on him” “to rip me piece by piece”
Who writes like that? What do you mean? Did she pee on him? Do you mean “ripped apart” or “ripped to pieces”? What the fuck ist that plot?

And where is the greek mythology? The guys second personality is called Ares and they order Baccus wine ONCE. And that’s it. There is no greek mythology in this book. It’s wolves. Werewolves. And apparently everyone is a werewolf. No ones tries to hide that they are a werewolf. Is this just genereally accepted in this world? Why does your inner wolf PURR like a fucking cat? Why are there 93 mentions of “pussy” in this book, have you ever heard of a thesaurus? I can find fanfiction on Wattpad that is more creative than this AND written better. Darling Venom was some Shakespeare level shit compared to this. Why is she clenching something all the time (85 times). The whole book takes place in the span of two weeks and one week passes by literally stating “it’s been one week since …” at the beginning of one of the last chapters. Aurora has this big fat secret that Ares finds out about like 50% in and it’s not even an issue apparently. The never met before but she tells him she loves him after THREE days. Fated mates aside, she hates him, grew up hating him and he is a total dick.

Also why does the cat only get chips to eat? NOTHING ELSE.

A fun and adventurous read! :D
I read this because I am still trying to figure out what I enjoy reading, and so, I wanted to try something new. My initial impression of this book was that there would be more smut than plot. However, as much as the smut was more than present throughout this story, I was more interested in some of the storylines. It felt like there was still more to this book than the sex.
I will say, this could have been written a lot better. The narrator is about nineteen, I think. The book feels like a thirteen-year-old girl wrote it. Lots of repetition in the language, which got old after a while, but overall a . . . decent read???

This love story about a broken sad Aurora destined to be the Alpha of her mother's pack. A true Luna who can't shift due to a broken spine. Her pack whispers she's weak and she can't lead them. No one gives her a chance since her brother died at the mercy of rouge hounds tearing territories apart just as fast as Ares and his warriors. Ares a great warrior Alpha desends with his hunters to rip her pack apart,. He wants one thing that Stone which is supposed to glow with power. Enough power to make any wolf stronger then all the rest. It comes with great healing properties. The pack claims they have no knowledge of where it is, refusing to offer up the fact half was surgically implanted in Aurora.
Furious Ares takes what he believes according to his wolf, the lovely daughter Aurora proclaiming she is his fated mate. Aurora feels she is a trophy as spoiks of war. Aurora's narcissistic mother offers her up so easily. Happy to be rid of the packs burden. Ares gives Aurora minutes to pack which her mother helps along eager for her to be gone. We see Ares turn to his softer personality around her. He is upset she has so little besides her cat Ruffles, which he demands she leave behind. Ares demands Aurora to call his less violent personality "Mars", who emerges already infatuated willing to give his sexy mate the world.
Aurora's not impressed when being told do anything Ares says. First Aurora defies her mother puts hardly anything in her one beat up suitcase. Second she defies Ares by stuffing cat in her backpack. She packs many Ruffles chip bags -> cat's favorite snack. Determined to make her Mother pay for gifting her to a crazy violent Alpha, who is a complete stranger. Buy this book it's the best I've read besides Emilia Rose'a first book "Submitting to the Alpha". Go on the adventure and enjoy one hell of a ride as Ares drives Aurora back to his home, determined to bend Aurora to his will.... sassy sexy virgin Aurora has other plans....

Come Here, Kitten is a fantastic, well-written erotic paranormal romance by Emilia Rose. Aurora is an Alpha female who does not get the respect she deserves from her family. Aurora can’t shift into her wolf and this makes others see her as unworthy. She discovers her mate is the one and only Ares, a feared Alpha male. Aurora gets sent to live with Ares in exchange for her pack’s protection, much to her resentment. Aurora discovers there’s much more to Ares than meets the eye. Aurora and Ares try to stay away from each other, but they can’t help but come together, they are, after all, fated to be together. Ares and Aurora battle many obstacles while trying to stay together and protect their loved ones.

This book had it all. There was action, adventure, love, mystery, deceit, violence, secrets, betrayal, and loss. The characters were fascinating and entertaining, while also being mysterious. The storyline had me hooked from the beginning. This was a beautiful love story and I can’t wait to see how it develops in future books.

*I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.*

I got it for free on Amazon...

This book is not for me, some parts were a huge red flag about domestic violence.

You might be thinking: 'But wolves are explosive and that's part of their personality'

So I think I'll stop reading this kind of book.

Come here, Kitten is book one in the God of War series and we meet Aurora who is Female Alpha in her pack.. she is disabled to the point where it’s hard for her to shift into her werewolf. This reminded me a lot of a book that I’d find on Wattpad BUTT ALOT BETTER. We have mates and greek mythology that we get more of in Catch me Alpha (book two)

Aurora’s character hooked me right away, she is a strong and sassy but also discouraged about her disability that her family has put into her head.

Aurora’s mate/instant attraction is Mars/Ares and LOORRDDD. God of War; he is FEARED by ALL. He is on a mission though that is related to Aurora, the plot, the spice THE STEAM in the book is absolutely AMAZING. I love paranormal romance and the story itself was different from what I’ve read so far and very consuming

The side characters and the world is written so easily and perfect for this author that I’m fangirling over her. I was looking for a simple erotica paranormal romance and I got something much more 🥺🥵🤌🏼

The only con that is stopping me rating it a five star is the DAMN CLIFFHANGER AND the moon goddess this, moon goddess that. It felt weird reading goddess dirty many of the mood scenes that I slightly cringed but overall I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SERIES AND ILL BE RECOMMENDING IT EVERYWHERE

4.5/5⭐️ 4.5/5🔥

I added the steam to the spice but without it it’s a 4/5🔥

Steam 3/5🌶

That was somewhat pretty good. Once you get past the sex, the corny lines. The story was original and captivating.
You do need your brain in gear as I did have to read a few things twice!!
Ares God of War!! Harbinger of doom and destruction, he’s after the Malavite Stone, why you ask? Well, I’ll tell you.....
Aurora alpha in training (which is mentioned a lot!) but she’s not actually in training! Her mother the first female alpha of The DarkMoon pack is suppose to be training her daughter, but she’s spending more time fretting about the coming war with Ares and his pack of bloodthirsty wolves and training Aurora’s soon to be Beta!!
The reason being, Aurora can’t shift! She was almost killed by rogues, she has the ability (she has the wolf inside) but her spine was shattered, so making shifting impossible (well it takes too long) and uncomfortable beyond belief.....
So as far as Aurora is concerned she’s broken, and believes her mother and pack thinks so too. So trying to believe Ares when he tells her she will be Luna of his pack is going to take time.
If I say too much it’s going to give things away. But I will say it’s worth a little confusion.
The storyline is good, the fight scenes are bloody, and the romance is hot and steamy.
Ares is hard to read, he’s both hard and soft, caring and cruel. And when Aurora becomes his unwilling mate, she sees all those sides to him and more. So who is Ares, the soft and caring brother and mate, or the ruthless leader who crushes anyone and everything in his path?
Ares is a complex character, he hides facets of himself from most people, but he can’t help but show his softer side to Aurora, yes she’s his mate, but she’s distracting him from his mission! He wants to be her Alpha, but he also wants her to want all of him....
Oh, I forgot to tell you why Ares is after the Stone didn’t I? It’s because..... no, can’t tell you, it’s better if you read it for yourself. 😉
First book in the series, and I’m hoping it’s going to be a series, there is a lot of potential, and I’m really hoping Marcel from Ares pack gets a book.
A few minor characters give us a little light relief from all the angst that’s in this book, one being Raffles (named for the crisps she loves so much) a cat with attitude had me smiling whenever I read about the feline.
The thing I was a little uncomfortable with was the way her mother treated her, that was sad, her spineless father never stood up for her, her beta who basically only wanted her for her position in the pack, I felt pity for her, but that never stopped her doing her own thing (and I liked that a lot her) she was crushed time and time again, but she dusted herself off and got on with it.
The rogue’s add the element of mystery, why target Aurora? Do they know something Ares doesn’t? The whereabouts of the Malavite Stone?
The interaction between the MC’s had me pinging from frustration to amusement, screaming at my kindle and rolling my eyes at the way they danced around one another!
Neither would tell the other where the stone was or why the stone was so important!
But when Aurora finds out why Ares wants the stone, can she help him? Will she want to help him?
And when Ares finds out Aurora knows where the stone is, will he demand it? Or can he listen to reason?
