The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was pretty clean, with occasional typos, but not enough typos to detract from the overall reading experience. The world building was competent, if not especially vibrant. The characterization was good, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals, if not especially nuanced. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and hot, about three to four chili peppers. The plot and pacing were tight and exciting, meaning I read this novel in one sitting. There was low angst and high stakes in this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Fated Mates trope, the Gladiator trope, and the Partner in Trouble trope. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were four stars. The characterization was three stars and the development of the romantic relationship was four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that was a plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy the Fated Mates trope and high stakes and adventure elements in their romances. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I am not currently planning to buy myself a keeper copy of this book, because of the typos.

Liked the whole dream lover scenario, and I always love the whole soulmates scenario. Plus, there’s a really sweet connection between Melisande and Lyova. Human Melisande was kidnapped and enslaved by a horrible alien man; she has been forced for years into prostitution. She’s been having these dreams about an alien lover, Lyova, that she feels deeply connected too, but she’s unsure what her dreams mean. Lyova knows he‘s dreaming of his mate, but he doesn’t know where to find her. I’d say this is a 3.5 stars for me, but I rounded up because what I mostly didn’t like was that I just don’t like reading about forced prostitution. I wish Melisande would’ve fought more, but I still liked her. Lyova was strong and sweet. Their connection passionate. I liked the action scenes; Lyova has some cool gladiator scenes, and there’s some fun action because Lyova is working undercover a bit. Overall, an entertaining story; a bit too sex focused, but still an interesting read.

Prized, in so many ways...
relax, smile and go "perfect! I get it!". Prized indeed.
Melisande is in one heck of a situation, I'd say between a rock and a hard place, but everywhere you turn a creep named Isaul is the root of all evil in her life. It makes for some really interesting predicaments, and I love the way she cares on her inner strength, even when she doesn't realize it, and uses her brains and wits to both cope and survive.
Lyova is a dynamic hero for this story, in part because he is trying to balance the inner almost instinctual beast that wants to crack heads to solve the problem with the man he is... a badge wearing, intelligent, upstanding guy on the side of right.
He's here to do a mission, but heaven help anyone who considers laying a hand on his mate.
This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read stands great on its own, but left me both curious to read previous stories, and eager for future ones.

This is a fated mates romance. It has a lot of action, drama, heat and love. It is a great read and will leave you smiling. I love it when a book can just take me away from this world and into it's own this book does that. I think this author writes so well this is the second book in this series I have read. I am looking forward to reading the whole series. You don't have to read the series in order or even read another book in the series. Each novel is also a standalone HEA and can be read by itself.

Melisande’s only hope is that one day her mate will rescue her from her enslavement. Ly’s on a dual mission at the gladiator tournament, gather the needed intel for Legion command and find his mate. Ly’s livid when he realized his mate is being used for nefarious deeds and is determined to rescue her by any means necessary. When his rescue attempt goes awry and Ly is left in chains, Melisande will have to use her wits to keep her slaver, Isaul, distracted until Ly’s partner can stage a rescue. Isaul’s not going down without a fight & when the battle’s done, the universe will serve the karma they deserve.

To much left unsaid
There was so much left unexplained in this book....all the books in the series are a little vague but this one really doesn't explain things as much as I think it should. I wish there was more closure for each character too. The lead in to this series is what bad asses these aliens are but they keep getting their asses handed to them and reasoning, again, is vague! I want them to be big and bad and I want them to bond with their mates and I want to feel that, but I only did in the first book! These last two books have just been....less then the first! If there was more explanation for things I think it would help!

This well-written book 2 in The Legion: Savage Lands Sector Series with amazing characters. This book builds a great world and follow the lives of a well-fleshed out couple that have depth and strength. This story is action-packed and has twists, turns, suspense, mystery, chemistry, romance, and love. This a must read story and I cannot wait to more from this author, this one was the second book I have read by this author, and was better than the first.

Melisande and Lyova meet when he finally finds the bad guy he has been searching for. Bad timing to find your mate, but now his priorities have changed. The characters have been through some really bad times, but now they dream of each other and a better life. Suspense flares from the fighting scenes and the kidnapping, chases and rescues, and eventual prison time. Happiness is knowing it is all behind you now and you can finally close that chapter of your life.

Dreams
What an exciting book! I personally hate anything that reeks of enforced servitude and this book had it in spades. Lots of action and imaginative world building. The characters were so well developed I found myself liking or hating them. The fated mate theme offers many ways to craft an interesting tale and I felt like the author did a great job with Melisande and Ly, although her back story made me extremely mad. I enjoyed the book and the series so far because of the HEA.

Really enjoyed the storyline and the action, adventure, and intrigue. It was a very entertaining story and the chemistry between Lyova and Melisande are steamy. The dreams of Melisande about an alien lover helped give her hope. Lyova is working undercover and not only does her get his vicious warlord but her also saves his mate. Hardly got thru 1 chapter.
This story felt like it was a snip, clip of others that was cut and pasted together. Just disjointed scenes of sloppy sex and an UGH fmc that refuses to give up her luxurious flat even though she has to perform deviant acts to do it. There's no background, it immediately jumps into &%$# dreams with ummm, unattainable positions. Don't look for descriptions of anything but appendages. Delete, delete.

January 6, 2024DNF at 38%—I don’t like the characters and the intended humor isn’t funny to me PLUS the MC is forced into sexual slavery, but I’m DNFing because the MC is drugged and very nearly sexually assaulted. She wakes up and doesn’t know whether or not she was actually assaulted and her first thought is that because she’s sniffling, “God, I wished I was better than this. I didn’t want him to think I was such a cry baby.”

LYOVA is alien warrior who has a human mate he is willing to fight for. MELISANDE Is tired of not being lucky in love that she signs up for an app where she finds more than she bargained for. I loved the characters and the storyline it kept me entertained.

Nice Story

Although this was an interesting story with lots of action, the typos detracted from the reading. I'm not sure if I'll continue reading any further books in the series.
