If you like historical romance (aka "bodice rippers"), you can't go wrong with Lisa Kleypas. This was a 2 for 1 edition containing two of Kleypas' previously published novels (for those of us who missed them the first time around). I quite enjoyed both stories following the Hathaway sisters and their "happily ever afters." Since one story was 3 stars for me and one 4 stars, I'm rating this edition a strong 3.5 stars (even though I don't recall anyone's bodice getting ripped. Lol)

Ugh - I love a trashy historical romance, but this is terrible. For goodness sake, his name is Kev. I cannot believe that a survivor of an attacked Romany encampment is named Kev. There's only so much suspension of disbelief available. Not to mention the heavy handed telling of the story - I've read plenty of Lisa Kleypas novels and this is a hot mess.

What a fun book! This is about a family who doesn't fit the image of a staid British Aristocratic family, which is a very good thing! They are loving, noisy, and opinionated, and full of oddballs. The story of two of the girls, and who as well as how they each fell in love is what is in this charming book. I must now go search for more stories of the charming Hathaway family. I want to read more of Lisa Kleypas' books. they are great fun!

You can always count on Lisa Kleypas's books to be good Victorian romances with great characters and enjoyable plots. The two stories in this book prove that rule. The Hathaway women are lively and interesting. Their male counterparts are enticing. The plots move right along. Both are fun and easy reads and the ending gives the reader something to look forward to.
I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway for this honest review.

I didn't realize how much I would love the characters in this book.
The men are vulnerable, while the women are sassy, wickedly delicious to their partner.
Refuse to take nonsense/obedience from their potential love interest.
I enjoyed the long burning courtship, love that both WIN & KEV went thru over the years. I don't like demanding, or martyr men. But who could resist KEV. He was so protective of the Hathaway ladies. Took responsibility of the Estate, when Leo Hathaway was in his depression.
I do want him to get together with Ms. Marks. He needs someone to keep him on the straight and narrow. I wonder which book their story lies?
Most important in a read, is they live happily Ever after. Which thank goodness, all the sorrows, ploys, & suffering that the Hathaway family went thru. It was nice to have the men love, protect, & give their lives to them. I highly recommend reading both novel's in this book.
I want to read more about all of the sisters, & Viscount Leo Hathaway.

So, I ABSOLUTELY ADORED the first novel in this book, Win and Merripen were absolutely adorable — EVERYTHING I NEEDED AND MORE, THIS BOOK PROVIDED. Definitely the first novel is 5 stars.
However, I was not a fan of Harry in the second book. He was so manipulative towards Poppy, and it was like he forced himself upon her so as for this novel its probably 3.5 stars. 💗

I really like Lisa Kleypas. And this family, the Hathaways, are very endearing, odd, and fun to read about. If you like "hot" romance, and great characters this is a fun 2-in-1 to read.
