The war in Anu is over. The Lord of Fate has usurped the heavenly throne in the absence of the Creator, and the last of the Rebellion’s survivors flee to the human world of Evanna in hiding. When the last bastion of resistance is burned to the ground, only a boy and an old man remain.
Years pass, and the two survivors have accepted a life of peace in their exile. Until a goddess falls from the sky.
Having been held captive for millennia in Fate’s dungeon, the Lady of the Wind has made her escape and seeks solace with the last embers of the rebellion. But those that hunt her are not far behind. The forces of Heaven will not allow the flame of rebellion to reignite, as Fate’s vision of a perfect world is close at hand.
The boy, the old man, and the goddess now face impossible odds and hard choices as their enemies gather and begin to circle.
Lords and Ladies, swords and arrows, love and hope all have a part to play all while the fate of all the worlds hang in the balance.
Tyler lives in North Carolina with a mess of children, his wife and a couple rescued pups. He first started writing in college, but didnt actually finish a project until about 12 years later due to a series of events called 'Life'.
When Tyler's not writing or reading or gaming he works as a nurse in intensive care and he occasionally has to do the 'father/husband' thing too.
This isn’t your typical good vs evil story. You have never read about these demons and angels before. Tyler Krings has written an imaginative and unique fantasy novel. You will not want to put it down! The beginning will draw you in, and before you know it you have read the whole book in one sitting. The descriptions bring the action to life without over detailing the scene and scenery. The characters have depth and you love -or hate- each of them for a reason. The ending is not a cliffhanger, but it does leave you wanting more. Luckily for us, there is more to come!
The story follows three characters who resume the rebellion two of them survive. Book 1, this is an extremely short and quick read, delving into a fantasy setting with different perspectives to give readers an overall view of the narrative.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Let me preface this by saying that a couple hundred pages into the book I was ready to write an eloquent Ebert-esque review. Having finished it (in a day), I threw that out, and I'll just say, with happy tears in my eyes, if you are a fan of high fantasy, mystery, action, romance, or intrigue, with rich setting and characters, read this book, and do it now; you wont regret it.
