Folsom Planet Blues #2

Alien Most Wanted: Prison Mate

Rate this book
When Lori finds herself on a dangerous prison planet, an even more dangerous alien warrior is her only hope for survival…

After a bad breakup, Lori is determined to make some changes in her life. Being transported to an alien prison isn't what she has in mind.

When the monstrous warden casually tosses her to one of the massive inmates, her fate is all too clear. She should be terrified. Instead, the big alien warrior arouses an unexpected passion.

Unlike his brothers, Altrez hasn’t always been on the right side of the law. But when he discovers that one of them has been wrongfully imprisoned, he is determined to free him. After his first attempt goes horribly wrong, he recklessly decides to have himself incarcerated as well.

He didn’t expect a luscious human female to complicate his plans, but that won’t stop him from claiming her. Now all he has to do is find his brother, free them all from the prison, and convince his mate that he’s not really a criminal after all. Simple, right?

This steamy romance is intended for mature readers.

We're back on Folsom Planet, this time with Riker's brother who is a very off-the-cuff sort of dude. As in, Altrez kinda has a plan, but winging it sounds so much better. Okay, okay. Maybe he isn't quite that bad. But he does tend to follow his gut and go with the flow A LOT.

Which worked in this instance since it allowed him to lay claim to Lori (which isn't as creepy as it sounds since Altrez is both a nice guy and the alternative for Lori was much, much worse) and figure out how to get the two of them out the prison. Sure, there were a few hiccups along the way, but they ended up where they needed to be.

As for Lori, she's been abducted by aliens, wound up in a prison, and she's just been given to the inmate on hand. Surprisingly, she's not nearly as badly off as you might think. Altrez is a gentleman who's determined to protect her and she's REALLY okay with getting up close and personal with him.

A little danger, a not-so-surprising betrayal, a glimpse of our favorite winged inmate, sexy times both in a cell and in the great outdoors, and a few familiar faces. Bonus: big brother is up next and he's going to fall so hard! *thumbs up*

Lori should've never decided to work out. Then she wouldn't have been abducted by aliens and ended up in an alien prison as a prize... This is book 2 in this series and Altrez actually tries to get into the prison to look for his brother, Riker from book 1. When Altrez is awarded Lori as a prize he wants to protect her with his life. Altrez is awesome. I love his bossiness and his alpha persona, but also how gentle he is with his (mate) Lori. And super steamy chapter 10 was top rate! Prison Mate wasn't too "dark," but you are really going to hate the antagonist, Hafra. He is NOT a good guy. Honey sprung a couple surprises near the end, which I won't give away, but I ended up loving them! Next up is the last brother, Leavent. I'm loving this series. Prison Mate had the perfect balance of everything: humor, action, adventure, and steam! 4.5 stars!

I liked book 1 better as I felt more of a connection between the heroine and hero.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

The hero goes to prison so he can look for his missing brother. The day he gets there, a different prisoner hints he has a way out. He tells the hero because he wants a chance to be with the hero's woman.

So they escape to the forest and find his brother and his brother's mate. He left a message before he decided to go to prison so their oldest brother would know where they are.

Oldest brother's book will be out next.

This one was fun in a dark adventure shell. The main characters got quite some good chemistry and enough bravery to follow their instincts. Sure there is some way to travel to a happy finish line but for now and the big brother on his way, I am optimistic.

I loved this story! I was fascinated by this series from the first book even when it was only a short story in an anthology. I was super excited it was expanded into a longer book, and even happier that this is now a series. The male lead of this book is Altrez. He is the brother of Riker- the male lead from book one. Altrez had himself incarcerated in order to find and rescue his brother, who had been wrongly imprisoned. Lori was just trying to move on after breaking up with her freeloader boyfriend. Now she finds herself in a prison on an alien planet. She is given as a prize to one of the inmates in exchange for his fighting in the fighting ring the warden has established for gambling and viewing profits. She is fearful and confused, but Altrez hasn't hurt her yet. But with the cameras always watching, can these two find a means to escape and reunite with Altrez's brother? Excellent and intriguing story. Great world building and wonderful characters. 5 stars.

I truly believe Ms. Phillips enjoys torturing her readers with these endings! I thoroughly enjoyed this book as much as book one. S'quent has my interest and I hope to learn more about hum, or maybe he'll get his own book (fingers crossed!) This is practically Insta love, but the story is easy to follow and interesting. The characters are original (and some are brutal.) It's great seeing the softer side of brutal aliens and Altrez pulls off brutal and caring seamlessly, almost at the same time. Great story! I'm eagerly waiting for book 3!!

What a story!
Altrez arrives on the prison planet only to find his brother, Riker, is not at the pick-up location. Rogue that Altrez is, he gets himself into some very tricky situations trying to find out what happened. I love that he finds a mate of his own (Lori) in the process. Yes, they finally find Riker, but oh, the tribulations on the way! This is a splendid book, leaving me wondering if they’ll ever leave this danger-filled planet. Enjoy!

Alien Most Wanted: Prison Mate, book 2

I generally love all of the books that Honey Phillips writes and so I was anxiously waiting for this book to come out but it was kind of a let down because it seemed rushed and kind of short to me. I hope the third book is better.

What?! This one went way too fast! I forgot I was reading!

***Spoiler Alert***
To recap: straight-laced brother gets sent to an underground, illegal prison. Criminal brother tracks him down and they plan an escape. Things go wrong, plans fall to pieces, and Altrez gets the brilliant idea of going into said underground, illegal prison?!

This cocky, yet loveable, miscreant finds himself faced with a dilemma. Does he continue with his plan of finding his brother, who he learns is alive somewhere on the God forsaken planet OR does he fall for the luscious human female? She’s got to learn to obey him if they're ever going to make it out of this alive.

Lori, who's never had an adventurous bone in her body, is finally starting to find herself when she is kidnapped from Earth and wakes up on a deadly planet where the flora is just as dangerous as the inhabitants. Forced to be a consolation prize to get a devilsh alien to fight in illegal matches, she starts to fall for the rogue Altrez. He's putting on a show but she finds it exhilarating to play along with him.

Escaping into the deadly forest turns out to be the saving grace they needed. Although Altrez is wounded, he's able to rescue the mate he never knew he needed.

Being found by the locals, Altrez and Lori come face to face with Riker in a rather compromising position. Reunited the brothers just have to wait until their rescuer can arrive. That is, if he shows up to rescue his estranged brothers.

Altrez is absolutely determined to get his brother back no matter what. He's always that great on plans and following them though. Despite any, and all the bickering, fighting and difficulties as he's grown he's realised that this brother was doing it all out of love. A strange, restrained kind of love but love none the less. He will not abandon him now and so he sets his sights on getting him out of a prison he shouldn't be in. Only to find that his brother is not there any more and he is now pretty much in the same situation his brother appeared to have been in. Fighting for his life and being given a prize. Lori was starting on a new regime of loving herself, although a run up the nearest was possibly not her greatest new life affirming decision. Still she always wanted to travel and she's definitely left her small home town now. She's flipping left Earth altogether. She's not so sure about being handed over to a huge red alien who seems intent on calling her pet. That said there is just something about the way he's saying it and the way he's reacting to her that make her believe that he is far more than what he seems!
Little cameos by S'quent too who I am just waiting to find out more about. He's doing a bang up job of being all mean but I think we all know that secretly he's a honourable male and he'll be absolutely ruled by a tiny human woman!

Funnier then the last , what a treat !!!

This book made me smile , and laugh, and laugh some more !!! I thought it was funnier then the first book of this series , and I am looking forward to the next !!!
In this book we meet Altraz, Riker 's brother from the previous story. He has come to save his brother , but in order to do that, he nerds to find out what happened. And in order to do that, he has to gain access to where Riker was : Folsom prision.
How he gets there had me laughing , and then , Bam !!! He meets Lori .
Lori has been kidnapped and thrown into a situation where she is sold into slavery. And the handsome devil looking guy is looking at her like he wants to help......
As there two are thrust together the action moves pretty quickly , and then its the end !!!
But a new beginning for the next book !!! I enjoyed this and looking forward to the next brother s story !!!

I'm giving this 3.75*.

I like the chemistry and the overall story of Lori and Altrez a lot better.

He's sassy, loves to laugh, he's funny, sexy and more adventurous.

So he comes to Folsom prison to find his brother (to rescue him) and they give him the prize, a human female Lori, if he'll fight to win; again, he has to protect her and keep her safe for them to not take her away.

They eventually manage to escape the prison walls and find the village where Riker and Amanda stay. They decide to build a house there, but are making plans to travel the planet and see what it has to offer.

Again, not a lot of story development. I would still like to know more about the brothers, their history, about everything. Right after reading the book it just seems as if they're stranded on some island, living in huts, having sex and waiting for a rescue.

I'm probably not reading the rest of the series.

Lori is kidnapped and taken to a prison in outer space. She is used as a bargaining chip. The big red alien with horns gets her and can keep her as long as he wins the fights. He loses, she goes back to the warden. No one wants that. Once she realizes that he means her no harm, she goes along with his plan - better the devil you know than the devil you don't. Altrez keeps her safe from the other inmates and guards. Slowly she begins to trust him and maybe more.

Altrez doesn't need the complication of a female. She is a liability that he doesn't need or want. His goal is to find his brother. Yet, he can't seem to part from her. So he'll fight to keep her and work on his plan. What he doesn't expect is to fall for this female and mark her as his. Would she ever accept him? Can he keep her safe? Will they find his brother?

This is a quick read. Altrez and Lori are amazing characters. I'm anxious to read book #2 in the series.

Pseudo HEA like the first book in this series. It ends with Altrez and Lori safe in the village with his brother, Riker, but still on the Prison Planet. While this book is well written, the world and characters could have been fleshed out a bit more. At 150 pages or so, I am not convinced that is it worth the asking price for any of the 3 books so far in this series.
While entertaining and smoking hot romance scenes, it does seem rushed. All the characters so far are likeable but could be so much more. It seems to be a given that all three brothers remain on the planet, since S'quent's book is due in April.
Since it won't take long, I will be reading the third book in this series.
As long as you stick with Kindle Unlimited like I did, and the lengths of the books remains consistent, I can honestly say this series is worth your time and money.

This prison romance had plenty of high stakes and danger, while at the same time having a sweet, very spicy romance. I heartily approve! The world building of the prison and this alien world was pretty vivid, considering the short length of the story. The hero was a deliciously alpha bad boy with a heart of gold, and the heroine was sweet and sympathetic. I now want to know all about the mystery of why and how they put a prison on a planet with a sentient native species against intergalactic law. I look forward to the romance of the eldest brother, which is coming up next in this series. I highly recommend this series so far! I am enjoying it much more than I enjoyed the Exposed to the Elements series.

I received a free copy of this book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Wow. This was a great follow-up to Caged Beast! Altrez is very alpha, but he is hilariously funny at the same time! I loved his personality! He protected Lori from the sick and twisted Warden Nazort and evil Ratchi while looking for an escape route. Lori is smart enough to instinctively trust Altrez, and even in her most vulnerable moments, she knows he is doing his best to keep her safe. These two together are fire! Their journey to freedom was non-stop action and excitement. Altrez’s love for his brothers is really heartwarming. Riker and Amanda make an appearance, but Riker’s appearance is very poorly timed! I would have loved this book as a stand alone story, but the fact that it builds on the storyline from the first book makes it even more wonderful! Thank you Honey, for this richly developed, slightly different, series! I can’t wait to see where you take me next!

It's not your typical prison love story!

I am loving the characters in this series so much, I love the variety of emotions they show. Although I'm looking forward to the next brother's book, this one had me hoping that it doesn't fall into a formulaic rut. The characterizations are enough to set the stories apart, for now, but the arcs are closely aligned and could use some shaking up. The story flowed well, but I had to fight the deja vieux feeling with some of the scenes. The love story fell into place easily, I keep hoping that Sequint will join the exodus, and I'm dying to know if there are other females in the prison that need to be freed!

Another great series by Honey Phillips. Lori happens to have broken up with her boyfriends and wanted to make some changes in her life but didn't expect the changes to be on a prison planet after being abducted by aliens. Altrez had gotten caught on the prison planet trying to find his brother and then ends up getting Lori. Now he has to save Lori, his brother and himself. Love reading about Altrez and Lori's journey of their relationship. There is action, betrayal, danger, abduction, romance, steam and fated mate. Can't wait till the next book comes out.

I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Altrez is in the alien prison, Folsom, to figure out what happened to his bother Riker, from the previous book. Lori on the heels of a bad breakup is kidnapped from Earth and is in the prison to be a prize for the Wardens twisted fight club. Altrez sees Lori and he fights to win her.

Just like in book one I was sold on Lori and Altrez’s instalove. I loved how Altrez protected her from the cameras but was Alpha Bossy in the bedroom (or cell). This was a great mix of humor from Altrez, steamy sex scenes, super bad guys in the Warden and his minions. I want more from the final brother and S'quent!

Alien Most Wanted: Prison Mate continues the exciting story of three brothers.

Altrez and Lori meet in the Folsom Prison. Lori is offered to Altrez by the reluctant warden who wished to use Lori for his own pleasure. But to convince Altrez to enter the wardens underground fighting ring at the prison he offers Lori as a prize to keep as long as Altrez continues to win his fights. To protect Lori Altrez agrees. Now to keep her safe they must escape and find his brother Riker who had escaped the prison and fled into the jungle befor Altrez could rescue him. An exciting adventure where two find out they are mates and are better together.

Lori wakes up in an alien prison with only one hope, a large red alien named Altrez. If he wants to keep her, he will have to fight off other aliens in a pay-preview match, all recorded by the warden (sadly he only fights once and that was the end of that). This felt rather shorter than some of the other things I had read from her. I really enjoyed how caring Altrez was and his protective nature was sweet. I really wanted to see more from this love story.
The jungle scene also felt too short. When they do eventually find Riker it wasn't that big of a deal and the village was ok. Not the best ending to book.

This is the second book in the Prison Mate series and I can’t wait for more. Great writing with a solid plot plus romance that burns the pages. The evil warden is at it again, looking to buy human women to use as presents to his fighters. But Altrez has a plan, to escape with his brother, he did not count on finding his mate. This one can be read as a stand alone but it is better is you read this series in order. In fact, as soon as I write this review, I’m going to check to see when the next one in this series is ready and I’m marking my calendar so I don’t miss it! Download and enjoy❤️❤️❤️

A great tale that takes us back to Folsom and the prison run by an evil warden. Altrez is searching for his brother Riker. His great plan is to be incarcerated in the same prison as Riker. Partial success , he's in. But his Riker is gone. Then the warden flaunts the latest female captive, Lori. She's still drugged and doesn't understand what is happening. And our author's tale blossoms from there. Danger, overwhelming embarrassment, training, plot twists and crazy sexy scenes all for the reader to be immersed in.

Love these big red aliens! Planet Folsom and the prison on it are run by a warden who will do anything to make money. One is to broadcast fights of the inmates. And his current incentive for one specific inmate of a beautiful curvy female. Our hero sorta fits in a prison but when it comes to the safety of the female and finding his brother he may have to take some insane risks. The story is filled with danger and us a slight dark side to it. The romance may not start off sweet but the attraction to protect and care for is felt by both sides.

where does this fit in

I am mixed on reviewing this story. I really enjoyed it and it needed to be telling but it could have had more substandard or added as a novella between the 2 bigger stories. I think it was a waste by itself. The plot itself needed to be told and the characters needed to be out there and their own story told. I just think it either needed to be a novella or a more story on its own. The characters were lovable and we got to see more of the monkey spider thingies which was awesome. Overall it was the way it was added as an afterthought I thought.

I enjoyed this one just as much as the first in the series. Still not finding this series "dark" though this was prefaced by the author as another darker book. Since this series is the only one I've read by her so far I'm wondering if she writes more comedy alien romances.

I really enjoyed Altrez, he's the youngest brother and quite cheeky. Once Lori realizes he's not going to hurt her they have good banter and are cute together.

This is a shorter novel like the first, and nothing overly deep but a fun quick read.
