The Alien's Omega #2

The Alien's Runaway Omega

Rate this book
Eisa

The humans are coming. Hundreds of them. They’ll be here to infiltrate Mukhana with their bases, their machinery, their strange culture, and their unreasonable demands. All of that would be fine in exchange for the one thing I want most in this universe; an omega.

But despite my request, the human omegas are being sent away. Only human alphas are permitted to stay. My own alpha council claims that omegas may not roam the planet unmated for their own sake. So, I have no other choice but to take matters into my own hands.

When the human ship lands, I will take what I deserve.

Devin

After years in service, countless galactic wars, and one unfortunate injury, my career is on the line. Working on the new Mukhana military base is my last chance to keep my job and more than that, to keep promises made years ago.

But when I’m told that I’m not allowed to stay because I’m an omega, I’m in shock. There’s no way that can be right. I’m not exactly the meek damsel type and I’m pretty sure that’s what being an omega entails. There must be a mistake.

If this big, reptilianalien, can secure my job and, more importantly, my salary, then bonding with him for a little while, will be well worth it.

The Aliens Stolen Omega is a lighthearted sci-fi m/m romance featuring a unique alien race, a military man who is in a bit of a bind, a desperately lonely and stubborn alien who is more than willing to bend for his omega, and an unbreakable bond.

Note** Although this book has two new main characters, Saar and Alex from book one feature heavily in the plot. The storyline requires reading the first book, before this one, for maximum understanding and enjoyment.

Adoro Omega's fora da caixinha e não clichês, Devin mostrou que Omega's não precisam ser sensíveis e fracos. O segundo casal foi tão bom como o primeiro. O povo nassar continua interessante e quero mais livros com esses aliens 😘

Another win for aliens and humans!

Devin isn't petite and pretty like Alex. He's a battle-worn soldier with a bum leg; manning an army base on Mukhana is his only chance to stay in the military and provide for his ailing father.

But things don't go as planned when Devin turns out to be an omega. In a state of shock and despair, he runs off the ship and straight into the arms of Eisa.

Eisa has longed for an omega for as long as he can remember, so finding Devin is a dream come true.

The MCs escape into a jungle, fight off a terrifying snake, and bond during their trials, but reality approaches and soon enough Eisa and Devin are torn apart by societal expectations.

Eisa knows he'll never stop fighting for Devin; he just needs another chance to prove himself.

I loved this book as much as the first. It's fun, fast-paced (I read it in one sitting, staying up far too late to finish), sexy, and swoony.

Only complaint: The epilogue came rather abruptly. I wanted to know more about Devin's dad and how Devin and Eisa settled into their life on Mukhana. I can't wait for more books from this author!

I loved the first book, was super excited to read The Alien's Runaway Omega, and was not disappointed!

Devin had always had to be tough and endure physical pain, spending all the money he made as a Marine to ensure his ailing father was taken care of. He wants to be strong but, at the same time, wants to be able to be taken care of. Eisa has wanted an omega to care for and love, and with Devin, he finds that.

"Not long ago, we had both been alone, and then the stars had moved, Devin had come here, and we had fallen together. We were meant to be, our souls longing to be one"

While their road to happy ever after is not easy, it is well earned! I love how while it was insta-love from Eisa's end for Devin took a while for him to come to trust and love Eisa (it still has that fated-mate vibe that I love), especially since Devin has been straight and never had feelings for a male. Their relationship was quite different from Alex and Saar's but just as wonderful and uniquely them.

I also enjoyed how we got to see more of Alex and Saar while learning more about the planet as well. Overall, it was another wonderful and sexy addition to the series! The spicy moments happen towards the third of the book but wonderfully written!

The Alien Omega series has all the things I love to read in my sci-fi/omegaverse! I can't wait for what is next to come!

I liked the first book of the series better than this one, but this was still very enjoyable. Eisa was a bit of a bad guy in book 1, but he just was jealous because he wanted love of his own. Who can fault the poor man for that?

So the humans have made some sort of pact with the aliens on this planet, and they are making a human base on the planet. The only stipulation is that omegas can’t stay because the alphas can’t control themselves around them. Devin is very excited to come to this planet because this is the only job he’ll be able to do or he’ll be forced into retirement. He’s not retiring age, but he got injured in a space battle and he has some PTSD, so this is his last option to keep working. But imagine Devin’s surprise when he’s told he’s an omega and can’t stay on the planet. Devin isn’t taking that, though, so he escapes the ship and runs into Eisa. They make a deal. Devin will bond with Eisa if he helps Devin stay on the planet to work. Easy right? WRONG. Very opposite of easy.

I loved seeing Devin and Eisa get close. Eisa never expected his omega to be so masculine and independent as Devin, so it took some getting used to. I also loved seeing Saar and Alex again, and seeing the continuation of their story. And the alien sex is always great, by the way.

One thing I don’t care for in the book is how it makes it sound like the aliens would be happy with any omega they get. It almost makes it sound like each person isn’t special. They can just carry a baby and that’s good enough. Obviously, when they bond, they fall head over heels in love. The omegas are also widely respected, and they have the alphas wrapped around their fingers (which we love), but I just don’t like the “I’ll take whoever I can get” aspect. I wish this book did fated mates instead. I did enjoy the changes Alex and Devin made to the omega culture, and how people view them, though. Gold stars to them both.

I am very excited for the next book. I can’t wait to see how that one will go down. I feel like it’ll cause a little turmoil with the aliens and humans, but oh man will it be good.

2.75⭐ and oh god, what a mess. Completely not what I expected for Eisa's story.

I liked Eisa so much in the previous installment, he was a young, hotheaded Alpha, he felt a bit cocky, quite an ego, fiersome and brave, a warrior.
I could hardly find that character in this book. I did like his pairing with the soldier Omega, but Eisa got lost somewhere.

Eisa and Devin, the human marine Omega, run away from the human spaceship and travel the jungle for days in order to get to the mating mountain or to find their way back to town.
They're doing this up until 70%, so for the majority of the book. I couldn't quite understand the point of running through the jungle with no specific goal in mind, they couldn't even have sex, so the whole thing was completely pointless.

🔵 When they finally gave themselves in, that's where the book really lost me. Eisa was treated as he had committed the ultimate sin by running off with Devon, while previously Saar had done the same.
Not only that, these people have everything on camera! So they were able to see it was Devin who instigated everything, and still they've decided to punish Eisa with quite severe punishments, might I add.

Nothing made sense. And you know what really shocked me? Saar. He was playing a himbo, standing by, watching his friend getting punished for something he did aswell. I couldn't quite believe it!

A terrible turn of events where Eisa and Devon could've lost completely everything and that dampened the mood, at least for my taste.

🌶️ The spice wasn't that good and the whole GFY part could've been so much better. Devin's jump from not being interested to really wanting Eisa wasn't even remotely believable.

This should've been an enemies to lovers or an arranged marriage sort of thing. In that trope Eisa and Devin's character would really shine through.

Too bad, because I really liked both MMCs. 🫤
I loved Eisa, my god, why??
The story really did him dirty here, he got the shitty end of the stick, I believe. He deserved so much more.

I didn’t love this as much as the first one, but I still enjoyed it. The story at the beginning of the book was just too similar to the first one. I grew to love it and am glad to know now I’ve found a new author.

A bit better than the first book. About a 3.25 stars.

What I liked:
a. Gay4u is a favorite of mine and Devin the human definitely enters this a het super straight man and comes out mated to a male alien. Despite his initial reservations, and the absolutely stupid reason he gives for wanting the mating in the first place, he appears to genuinely develop feelings for Eisa over time.
b. Aliens, alpha/omega dynamics - nuff said

What I didn't like:
a: I realize running into the jungle seemed like a viable option at the time, but it felt random. I mean come on, Devin is disobeying a direct order and he expects if he's mated to an alpha his commander will like forgive him or something and let him stay?
b: I'm not liking how the omegas are treated. It feels like they are treated like children or property sometimes.

This was enjoyable enough and had enough of the elements I like to keep reading the series.

In which Devin flips the Nassa's belief of what an omega should be on its head - and then literally flips Eisa on his head.

With how much of cocky alpha Eisa seemed to be in the first book, I thoroughly enjoyed him getting his ass handed to him by Devin. This book was just as fun as the first, made more enjoyable because we got plenty of Saar & Alex in this story as well.

Maybe I just wanted more Saar & Alex but the romance didn't seem as believable as the first book. I know it's meant to be super insta-lovey, but Devin went from zero to a hundred real quick. I will say, though, I appreciated that the author at least gave inner dialogue explanations as to why he was falling for Eisa so quickly. And as much as I loved their romance, the whole "I am an alpha who just wants ANY omega, it doesn't matter whether it's you or not", while also present in the first book, was a little more grating in this one.

But overall, I still really enjoyed the story. I liked that the plot was given a little more depth than the first one with Devin's background/injury and I LOVED the scenes with Devin & Alex becoming friends; it was so sweet! Now I want more human-omega-besties-on-an-alien-planet scenes!

Rating: 3.5 rounded up to 4!

I think I wrote that I was not going to continue with this series.

🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

I'm glad I can go back on what I said, cause this was better than the first book, yep, color me surprised.

This had a lot of more building up to the romance, the main human was a military dude, so the autor didn't make him stupid *rolls eyes*, and they had a lot of troubles that weren't just overlooked (like in the first one), so there was angst, a lot more of world building and good sex.

A good surprise I tell u. 🤣🤣

This book felt more like a first draft rather than a fully fleshed out novel. What I mean by that is parts of this story felt missing. The relationship progressed way too quickly for my liking, and nothing really stood out for me story wise. 2 stars.

This was cute! Didn't blow my mind but was an enjoyable, relatively light read. The world was interesting and managed to be a little different than others in this genre. I liked that Devin was so tough and how there was a cultural misunderstanding about being tough vs being cared for.

Overall a nice quick read that made me interested in the first book in the series (which I haven't read, but I don't feel this impacted my read.

I was excited to read this book because I liked the first one. This book was okay but the whole GFY / bisexual awakening or whatever you want to call it was totally not believable. I mean, when it's that awkward, just make the character gay from the get-go. The whole "identity struggle" seemed like page filler and was resolved way too easily and abruptly to be interesting to or believable in the story. It would have been much better without it.

As with the first book, there are proofreading issues. So if that bothers you, just be aware, errors are in there.

I downloaded this book, read a couple of chapters, wasn’t feeling it, forgot about it, couldn’t remember what it was about when I was clearing my kindle. I read a few more pages and instantly remember how much I did not like one of the MCs. He was a complete jerk. So I skipped all the way to like 70% and by then he was actually better. Finished reading the book. Did I enjoy it? Meh. Obviously I missed the character development, but dang it, Devin was REALLY bad LOL so, I’m not rating it, however, I won’t pick up more books from this author either.

*fart noises*

I remember really enjoying the first one but this one was just bleh. The first half was interesting but once they bonded it went downhill. Every conflict fixed too easily leaving you wondering what was the point of all the issues in the first place.
November 17, 2023
The first book was fine, I didn’t hate it, (did hate that the poor MC couldn’t speak for himself, omegas are treated like babies). But I let it slide.

But this one PISSED the hell out of me. The aliens (forgot the race name) are so stupid, the basically don’t give a fuck about what the omega wants (even though they say they do) if the mate hasn’t fight, it doesn’t count. Not even if the omega wants you. What happens if he doesn’t win, well you have another alpha, deal with it. It doesn’t make senseeeeeeee.

Also, in the first one it was love at first sight, not my cup of tea, but I didn’t worry. This one, is literally I just want a omega I don’t care who it is. And MC a basically was the first one to show. It wasn’t even love at first sight, it was like, well you will do.

The first book in this series frustrated me because of how stupid every single character was but the premise of the series was intriguing enough to make me continue. I naively thought that now that the humans and the nassa (a name that, when given to an alien race, just makes me think of NASA every time I read it) have established proper contact and are aware of the cultural differences and everything that somehow less stupidity would ensue but NO characters are now somehow not only more stupid but also, in the case of the nassa, actively malicious and evil.

So... the MCs of these book choose to run off together (and it's stupid but hey it's their business) and consensually get together (despite the MC having formerly been straight lol) and the human MC finds out that he's lost his job and is now stranded on this alien planet with the security of this bond/relationship the only thing that he has there........... And the nassa are all like "oh no this poor human omega has been done a great wrong he must be mated properly" so separate them and imprison the alpha, which forcibly breaks the bond since it hasn't been consummated yet, causing the pair pain and misery, so that there can be a mating "auction" (why it's called an auction I have no idea) for the omega because it's part of their religion... The religion, despite apparently being so important to them, is never expanded upon outside of this so I have know idea how or why it works this way at all. This means that the human could end up forced to be with some random other nassa against his will which in the eyes of these condescending assholes would somehow be better for him because "fate" ??? And instead of throwing a fit over this or being like "I'm literally not even from your planet stop trying to force your deranged alien religion onto me you freaks" this assertive, stubborn, combative military man just goes along with it and hopes for the best? And of course it all works out and the right guy wins because "fate" and every other nassa is like "uwu yay you can be together properly now" and the MCs aren't even mad at them and have a happy wedding, so basically the narrative justifies everything that happened to the MCs and their lack of fighting back.

There's also a stupid subplot about how the MC from the first novel is pregnant and human doctors being curious and concerned about this unprecedented alien mpreg situation and wanting to exam him and whatnot is portrayed as a bad thing? And how nassa medicine is so much better than sci-fi human medicine. This book seems to be trying to push a weird "humans suck" thing to try and gaslight the reader into thinking that the nassa are somehow better.

Offense and defense

With the second book here on Mukhana things take a bit of a different direction. Now that the humans know about omegas and alphas they are working with the Mukhana to have a base there, mostly to study the mystery that is a pregnant human male. This means human bases and space marines. In deference to the issues from the first the humans have decided that no omegas can work on the planet and any of them will be turned away.

Devin is a space marine and after a major injury in battle he needs to prove that he can keep working so he doesn't get retired. Devin has to keep up a working paycheck to support his family. When it gets revealed that he is an omega, Devin makes the impulsive decision to run away into the planet with the idea that bonding to an alpha will mean that the military will have to keep him employed there. With a human starting all the trouble by running off there is less threat to others, but still a major search going on.

Eisa was introduced in the first book as Saar's friend, and his frustration at the lack omegas, the lack of a chance of loving and supporting another, was well known. Now that it has been decided that human omegas won't be allowed he is even more frustrated and decides upon the rash action of storming the human ship to find an omega. This causes him to run into Devin and form an ill thought out plan of running away together to bond. The two clash as Eisa wants to protect and make all the decisions while Devin isn't willing to be a pushover and only wants to bond to ensure he has work. However, with time together their similar motives of a desire for protection and love begin to come clear and there is a possibility for more.

This book not only flipped who the instigator was between the two species, it also flipped the book on the omegas. Devin may have been revealed to be an omega but he is a marine as well as an accomplished black belt. Devin can hold his own, even against the much bigger Eisa, and it brings to question some of the preconceived notions on Mukhana. Eisa grows to realize that not only is Devin strong, but he wants to protect that strength without crushing or diminishing it, allowing it to grow. Eisa wants to be a better alpha to allow Devin to be the omega he is and he wants to ensure that Devin doesn't have to change just to become a part of Mukhana. It was a really good evolution to the story and promises more changes for omegas to come!

This was a very enjoyable read, fast and best devoured in one sitting. Looking forward to reading what happens next!

Like his predecessor main characters in book one, Devin is not a bright man. He was also so desperate to stay on the planet that his actions got bizarre, and he accidentally on purpose goes AWOL. To get out of that situation, he agrees to be Eisa’s mate. I appreciated he didn’t flip out when it turned out he was bi (he’s been almost completely interested in only women his whole life but is undeniably attracted to Eisa and so is not straight).

Eisa was kind of creepy at the start. He was so desperate for a mate that it came across stalkerish and pretty bizarre. He lies his way into a human ship and plans to get alone with their omegas and “whatever happens is meant to happen.” Like the last book it gets less creepy and even kind of sweet. Not sure why we needed to start with creepy.

This book once again has that “this marginalized group is too precious and delicate for this world so we restrict their rights and power for their own safety but really if you think about it that’s TRUE power even if it’s not actual rights.” Nonsensical… The nassa wouldn’t even let human omegas do their JOBS and set foot on the planet because “it’ll affect the alphas” and it’s “unsafe” for unmated omegas to wander around unsupervised. So they’re cherished but also unmated alphas might do something bad to them so their movements and rights are restricted. >:(
Some of the characters acknowledge this is a problem but don’t do much about it in this one. Maybe in a future book? This is typical and irritating for me for this genre but it’s not as nasty as normal so I’ll live with it.

The snake fight was really weird and confusing to read.

I like a lot of the ideas in these books. The idea that the bond between a nassa and human is somewhat one sided makes for a very interesting idea. I like the idea of doing the bonding “the right way” and “the wrong way.” That there’s a difference between nassa and human omegas. The physical and religious aspects of sex and bonding for nassa.

Overall it was pretty fun. I liked the second half of the book better, since the first half was the main two sort of on the run with not a lot else happening (other than that snake fight). The second half was better for me. It was nice to see a bit of Alex and Saar.

Hahahahahaha, this is Sway-via-Devin saying TAKE YOUR LILY-FINGERED OMEGA TROPE AND SHOVE IT and honestly I'm here for it. Devin Hart (which is a terrible character name but that's not part of the review) is a rough-and-tumble soldier with literal and metaphorical scars. He could not be more of a Wounded Soul stereotype if he tried, and I was totally prepared to be annoyed by him until he turns out to be an omega on a planet full of aliens who don't know the stereotype and won't play along. Yessssss.

I love that Sway, even while writing absolutely absurd alien A/O smut, manages to invite the reader to realize what assumptions we bring even to absurdity. Devin is very much prejudiced against the aliens and it shows all over the place in his lack of preparedness, dismissiveness, and flat-out assault. He has to come to terms with that--not heavily, by any means, because Absurd Alien Smut, but there is an undercurrent of how humans are not always right and are actually often cruel. There's a beautifully subtle critique of capitalism (so we're clearly not in a Star Trek future if quality of living is still a thing deeply threatened by financial standing). There's a critique of army structure and how often the people doing the work of dying are the ones treated as pawns.

At one point, Devin talks about how "wholesome" Eisa is, which is funny given how Eisa is an antagonist in book one and is not the kind of nassa the reader is given to understand as the best kind. I like that, though; in my review of the first book, I applauded Sway for never going the "childlike" route of description and that continues here with that idea that the nassa aren't infantile or foolish or unaware, they're just good in a way humans have forgotten how to be. And they're not perfect; we get to see some of the prejudices, punishments, and pitfalls of the society in this book with its rigid assumptions of who can do what and how and how that falls apart sometimes. But they are good, decent folk, trying to love and live together.

Wholesome. Did not expect that in absolutely absurd alien smut, but here we are. How marvelous.

The drama on Mukhana continues. As mentioned in Bk 1 in the series, Eisa is an unmated alpha, the only unmated on on the Council, and he has issues with humans building a base on the planet and only allowing alpha humans. If too many alphas come, some might try to mate with the few omegas of his species. If human omegas are not allowed to come on the planet, supposedly for their own safety, there will continue to be a shortage of omegas and he might not ever find his mate. When the ship lands, he determines that he will find a human mate, even if it goes against the will of the leaders of both species.

Devin is a space marine who has fought his way across the galaxy, mostly to honor his dying mother's last wishes to take care of his father who is now in expensive care for a chronic medical condition. He needs the money, but he was also badly injured in his last battle. If he doesn't get chosen at Mukhana, the general has ordered that he will be forced to retire. The pension won't be enough to pay for his father's medical care. Devin is identified as an omega, told he must return to his quarters for dismissal, so he decides desperately to run to the planet.

When Devin and Eisa run into each other, Eisa believes he's found his mate. Devin has never identified as anything other than heterosexual, but he wonders what he might do to stay and to help his father. Can these two make a permanent mating when the people of Mukhana and the humans are all looking for them? Can they even mate? This book has excitement, danger, a non-stereotypical omega, interesting cultural questions, and a love against the odds.

I enjoyed this one even more then the first, Eisa and Devin are a lot of fun together. Very fast paced, but I'm loving this series getting to learn more abou this world and their lives is interesting.

The jungle adventure aspect, runaway together and the fights were amazing plenty of actions scenes which I love. Kept me gripped and entertained from start to finish, seeing Devin get the upper hand was great. With how Mukhana views omega and alphas, I do adore whenever the humans prove them wrong.

Devin and Eisa are lovely together, It was sweet seeing both povs and how they changed as got to know one another. Got me in all of the feels when they first bonded and getting to see more of Alex & Sarr too was sweet.

I liked how Devin initiated their first kiss and the heated moments between them are so perfect, they have so much chemistry.

I loved how the auction went in this book and the support between them is wonderful, getting a glimpse into their futyre was great. Overall an amazing read and I can't wait to read more in this world.

I loved these two together! First of all, I really enjoyed how strong and willful Devin was. He provides a great juxtaposition to the other portrayals of omegas, which is super necessary here. Eisa was a bit blind in the beginning of this story, and he definitely trampled about with no finesse... but the best part was watching these two find that despite their differences and preconceived notions, they are actually perfect for one another. I loved every bit of seeing these two find each other. I wish this book was a bit longer and had more development (as this book also had a bit of an insta-love/fast love vibe). Overall, this was a quick and sweet read, and I can't wait to read more!

Alien Omega book 2

I enjoyed the second book in the series, there was more world building on top of the first book, which was good. I love that the aliens have tails, but wish that the author with specify, do the omega have tails also?
This is kind of a nice fluffy quick read .
((((My private notes, 3rd in series author mentions flippity flip- my guess is human alphas? I really hope not because the only human alphas we’ve been introduced to is Alex’s former boss and Devon’s father. Not sure I will read one with a human alpha and Makhana omega. This is not a flip that would interest me plus if this would involve age gap that’s a hard no for me. But I will check it out.)))
