It’s been six years since ex-cop Logan Fox lost his family, and their killer still roams free. Now working as a private investigator, Logan seeks justice on behalf of those around him. For those unable to protect themselves.
For people like Jenny.
When his only friend goes missing, Logan is horrified to find the link to a series of brutal murders in the area. But as he edges closer to the truth, he finds there’s more to the kidnapping than first appears, and that the killer is linked to his dark past.
A past he’d left behind long ago.
OUT FOR BLOOD is the first instalment to a gripping new serial killer series. It introduces Private Investigator Logan Fox, a no-nonsense vigilante with a short temper and a dark history… a history that is about to catch up with him.
Adam Nicholls grew up in the southwest of England, where he studied creative writing while working a variety of full-time jobs. When his Mason Black series was first published, he quickly became a bestseller and then went on to create a name for himself in the thriller genre. Adam now lives with his wife in Bristol.

This work is not the usual shoot everyone up vigilante book. The author gives us a look into the minds of the main character, the victims, and the killer.
I read OUT FOR BLOOD as part of a collection of thrillers.
Logan Fox is a self-employed detective. With a background in law enforcement, he is a good private eye. Logan is on the trail of a serial killer known as the Doctor, who mutilates his victims after killing them. The dead bodies are always disturbing, but it's hard for Logan to remain unattached to the crimes. The killer has a personal vendetta against Logan, although Logan isn't sure why. When the killer snatches a friend of Logan's, the case becomes personal. Even though this isn't his job, Logan begins to track the killer.
This was an engaging novel. Logan was interesting, hard working, and dedicated. His past, however, is a bit murky. Logan is trying to keep in the present, but his past is pulling him back.
The problem with this novel is that it has too many points-of-view. Every character contributes to the novel, including the killer. When the killer tells the story from it point of view, it spoils the novel. It's like giving away the end.
I look forward to reading the rest of the series and learning more about Logan.
Logan Fox an ex-Police Officer turned Private Investigator following a shooting he was involved in when in the Chicago Police Department and the brutal murder of his family, is a damaged soul. When a neighbor’s daughter is kidnapped, Logan is taunted by the kidnapper but swears to find the abducted girl and in his tormented mind, not let history repeat itself by failing to protect the young disabled girl involved, and her older sister, who is attracted to Logan. The mentally deranged kidnapper is no other than the killer of Logan’s family and has been on a crime spree, kidnapping, murdering and mutilating young females. The kidnapping of the young neighbor is an attempt by the perpetrator to get back at Logan for the loss of his girlfriend’s life in the shooting incident involving Logan. With many twists and turns this story is an entertaining and well written read. With the help of a colleague from the Police Department, Logan overcomes his devils, saves the day with the young neighbor and looks likely to come out of the fog of his own torments. Moses
Adam Nicholls does it again giving his readers another great main character with Logan Fox. This may be the first outing for Fox but the author really leaves you feeling like you know him. In fact, he accomplishes this quite early on meaning we can truly feel for him and hope he can achieve the almost impossible. What is it that he needs to achieve? Stopping a heinous serial killer that is murdering young women and leaving their bodies abandoned minus one body part. This is a fast paced read from an author that is great at giving his readers just this type of dark twisted read. I always say if at the end of a book I’m desperate for more that must be the best recommendation I can give and that is most definitely the case with Logan Fox and co. Quickly, Mr Nicholls, give us more! Overall, a dark story but well paced and very well written.
Stunning start to this New Series by Adam Nicholls.
Once a Chicago Police Detective, Logan Fox lost his wife and child to a serial killer, nicknamed The Doctor, who is still at large.
Now, six years later, he is a Private Investigator living in a run down apartment, in a far from salubrious part of town, trying his best to come to terms with his loss.
He has no friends save for his crippled seventeen year old neighbour and her sister, Maggie, who is also her guardian.
Instantly, the story takes you on a nail biting journey which which will have you glued to your seat. I could not put it down!
The next book can’t come soon enough.
If you haven’t read any of this young and talented writer’s books, this is an excellent place to start. He never disappoints.
Out For Blood is the first book in the Logan Fox series. This series is about a PI who’s had a hard life but still does his best to solve his cases by pushing himself to his absolute limits when someone he cares for goes missing. This book is full of twists from beginning to end and captures the readers interest straight away.
This is also the first book I have come across where one of the characters also has a disability. This shows equality and diversity which I feel is important in any walk of life and it’s so well written.
Overall i really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see where Logan Fox goes in the future. Another amazing job done by Adam Nicholls!
Logan Fox is a PI who used to be a cop. He lost his wife and daughter to a serial killer who is still free. In the apartment building where he lives he has made friends with a single woman and her younger crippled sister. The at large killer all of a sudden begins another round of murders and Logan gets pulled into this macabre melee of violence. The crippled sister disappears and Logan works even harder to find her. This is an awesome beginning to the next great series of books from Adam. Excellent cast of characters, non stop action/intrigue/mystery and an award winning storyline will keep you late waiting to see what happens next.
A very thrilling and captivating read. The characters are very believeable, and well fleshed out. They are presented as human, with both flaws and redeeming characteristics. I enjoyed this book so much, that I read it in just one day. I just could not put it down, and had to see what came next. I like the way the females in this book are able to draw on their inner strengths I found this book a thrilling, captivating, and nail biting read, from start to finish. The characters are real, to pull them through very difficult situations. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a fast paced, thrilling crime novel, that has some very close shaves.
A girl has been missing for 2 weeks. What were the chances that she’d be found alive? P.I. Logan Fox would find out. Unfortunately, she was found dead…with her eyes missing. Now, Logan was in a cat-and-mouse game with a serial killer. Logan never got close to anyone because that would make one too comfortable, and comfort led to a weak spot left open for the enemy. He’s a tortured guy. Okay, I get it. But it just seemed that it just kept talking about how tortured he was. Okay, enough already.
This was a decent read with mild excitement. Definitely not like the Mason Black series, but okay.
It's a great start to a new series. Private Investigator Logan Fox reminded me of the tough 'Mike Hammer' character. Sure, some of his tactics and abilities may be over the top, but that's the great thing about fiction. PI Fox is a man with a vision. He has a clear understanding between right and wrong, even if he crosses the line from time to time. He's a man on a mission. If you are a scumbag in his way, look out.
Out For Blood is the 1st book in a new series: Private Investigator Logan Fox. The plot is twisted, exciting, fast paced and well fleshed out. The drama and suspense kept me entertained. PI Fox is a very likable character. Loved it and look forward to more. *this honest, voluntary review is based on a complimentary copy*
It was a little sad. The crimes were violent but the writer didn't focus on the violence. The characters were well written and likable. The villain had no redeeming factors and I wasted no sympathy on him. It was a satisfying read and I am looking forward to the next book
Great read! Loves the characters, well developed, fast paced. I true thriller! Without being over the line with the violence. An ex-cop has become a PI and gets into his neighbors sights. Jenny is kidnapped by a sick serial killer. Intense story! A must read!
Payed.99 cents for 10 novels on Amazon and Out For Blood was the first book. I got ripped off. Story was unbelievable and terrible. I was stuck on a bus so I finished it, but so unrealistic characters and the story had so many holes. I will delete the rest of these books immediately.
I'd have given this 5 stars, if it hadn't been for all the misses.... the killer escaping because he ran faster, or the PI's car died, etc. One or two times would have elevated this to 5 stars.
