Love on Tap: Fragile Hearts #2

Wanted: Patient Daddy

Rate this book
Toby thinks he’s irritating. I think he’s a breath of fresh air.

Toby’s family has made sure he knows what a screw-up he is at every turn. Too fidgety, too touchy, just too much. He’s given up hope of finding what he wants in search of the only kind of Daddy he thinks will be able to tolerate him, a patient one.

Daddy Samuel is a patient man, but that has nothing to do with why he wants his daughter’s closest friend as his own. To him, Toby’s quirks are part of his charm.

Will he be able to convince the younger man how brave he is facing the world as his true self regardless of the negative voices in his head telling him he’s broken?

Welcome back to The Tap Tavern where there’s booty-shaking in the kitchen, cuddling on the couch, and sometimes a boy just needs a little help to get out of his head.

Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.

These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.

Toby's parents are obnoxious...controlling and downright EVIL...no other word for them. What makes this type of people think they have any control over the life of a 25-year-old man...not to mention how you could ever treat your child like this even if they weren't an adult??? I can't tell you how much I wanted to reach into the book and slap them or worse. He was loved and for all purposes, raised by the housekeeper and her husband...plus he had good friends in the guys he worked with at the tavern. One of his friends made and displayed a sign at the tavern that read, "Wanted Patient Daddy".

If anyone ever needed a "Daddy" it was our Toby. Thankfully, he hit the lottery when one of his best friends, Melissa, and his friends at the Tavern, had his back and his best interest at heart. They have always wanted him to be happy and know that he really is, despite his parents, is loved for who he is.

Melissa sets him up to teach her dad how to cook, while the boys post a "Wanted" sign asking for a Patient Daddy. Toby's parents never praised him and always tried to keep him "under their thumb". He was at the point that he didn't think anyone could ever love him for just himself. He is a bit quirky and very, very energetic, but he is a sweetheart and I wanted him to have his "Happy Ever After". Thanks to Melissa's "cooking lesson idea, Samuel, Melissa's dad enters Tobey's life. Samuel soon realizes that Toby is HIS perfect boy. He just has to convince Toby that he's worthy of every ounce of love his "Daddy" and his friends give him. It was rewarding to see how Samuel supported him while giving him the space to find his own way.

This little series, by Sammie Cee, is incredibly heartwarming. I absolutely love these boys and their "Daddies".

Book safety, tropes and tags down below.

I think I enjoyed this book the tiniest bit more than the first in the series. Toby believes he’s too much and not good enough, and I love characters like that, lol. Massive age gap in this one (24 years I think), but Samuel was sweet and it didn’t feel creepy.

I usually don’t care much about the level or amount of spice (as long as it’s not closed door or fade to black), but I will say this. This was suuuuper slow burn, so I was a little disappointed when the boinking barely lasted two paragraphs after waiting for like 90% of the book 😩 I wanted more, dammit, lol.

Very sweet Daddy/boy romance. It gave me a nice escape for a few hours. Low on angst and high on sweetness and budding romance, I ended up really liking it.

I liked this but I'm kind of over the rich parents are evil assholes trope. Surely there are some nice rich parents. Toby has had his self-esteem eroded by his parents for years and despite training to be a chef he's sure he would be too annoying for everyone (he is pretty hyper). His best friend convinces him to help her Dad learn to cook after she moves out (they are 25 not super young) and Samuel becomes more of a friend at first as Toby is oblivious that he could be interested. When Toby's parents give him an ultimatum, he nearly caves until Samuel helps him work through his options and the best friend is thrilled as she's been trying to jam them together forever.

So it was cute enough, I just marked it down a bit because of the evil wealthy parent trope. I'm over that one.

Toby has always thought he was a screw-up; his parents have always told him, so he believes them. When he meets Samuel, he doesn't believe the hot older man could want anything to do with a screw-up like him. Samuel does all he can to show Toby that he is a sweet, adorable, and driven young man. The sparks between Toby and Samuel were hot from their first meeting. While they tried not to fall for each other, it seemed to happen naturally.

It was nice getting to see all the characters from the first book. They were just as crazy and fierce as in the first book, but you also get to see them open up a bit more. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series and seeing each of the guys get a happy ever after.

Wanted: Patient Daddy

Toby is such a sweet bouncy character who has had his self esteem battered by the people who are meant to love him and support him most. Samuel is a pillar of steadiness and just the teddy bear Toby wants, a cuddly Daddy and what he think he needs, a patient one. Like the previous book in this series, it is more about the main character overcoming what they see as negatives about themselves and healing under the care of their Daddy. The little snippets about the side characters gives an all round complete picture into this sweet addition.

This was cute! While I enjoyed both MC's, I wanted a bit more Daddy/Boy out of both of them. Looking forward to Levi's story.

Good but relatively surface-level. Has plenty of tropes that will appeal to people who are into them: daddy/boy dynamic, friend/father-of-bff relationship, evil rich parents, etc. While there was nothing particularly awful about it, the characters were not particularly memorable, and there are a lot of side characters who are introduced throughout this series.

Toby's parents are evil with a capital E. I can't tell you how badly I wanted to reach into my kindle and throttle them. I swear if anybody needed a found family, it was Toby. Thankfully, he hit the lottery with his BFF Melissa and the boys at the Tavern. They all have his back. Melissa sets him up to teach her dad how to cook while the boys post a Wanted sign for a Patient Daddy. Toby's always dreamed of having a Daddy of his own but because of his parents constantly putting him down, he doesn't think anyone could ever love him like that. He's a bit quirky and very energetic. He pretty much bounced into every scene. But he has a heart of gold and I wanted him to have his HEA so badly.

Enter Samuel...his BFF Melissa's dad. He agrees to let Tobe teach him to cook and Samuel soon realizes that Toby is his perfect boy. He just has to convince Toby that he's worthy of every ounce of love his Daddy and friends have for him. I loved how Samuel supported him while giving him the space to find his own way.

This series is so incredibly heartwarming. I absolutely love these boys and their Daddies.

So far this has been a sugary sweet series. This one took the slow burn to a new level and I wondered if we'd get there before the ending at one point. Their story was good and I'm glad they found each other. While this series seems to be a bit too sweet for my tastes, I am still enjoying each book. I find them best read when low angst and daddy love are exactly what is needed after a heavier reading.

This series is sweetness overload with the boys in need/want of a Daddy but there are definitely some emotional moments with underlying issues.
Here we have Toby, who successfully found Joey his Gentle Daddy in book one, now looking for his own Patient Daddy. Patient because he feels that he's too much for any one person for a prolonged period of time but there must also be plenty of snuggles and cuddles. Enter Samuel, never a daddy before but knowing that he wants something where his caretaker nature can take over. Toby brings all of his protective and caring instincts out, especially when it comes to how he talks about himself. Toby's been through a lot when it comes to his parents but with the support of his group of friends at The Tap, best friend Melissa and Samuel, who just happens to be her dad, he now has the chance to live his life on his terms and be truly happy.
This Wanted series has such a lovely premises and I really enjoy how they go about finding the perfect Daddy for each other. It has a great mix of fun, sweetness, heat and love in these well balanced relationships. Patient Daddy is a slow burn, age gap, friend's dad romance with great characters and a heartwarming romance.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Although not my favourite of them, this one was still utterly sweet. It truly is the only way to describe Sammi’s writing style. These may be Daddy/boy stories, but the focus isn’t the sex, it’s them as people and how the Daddies can enhance the boy’s wonders. To be quite frank, my biggest complaint about these books is that they are simply too short. As well, as the overuse of ‘orbs’, yet it doesn’t bother me as much as I thought. I never thought when I picked up W:GD, I would fall in love with this universe.

Toby is our absolute crackhouse with a heart of gold and most likely undiagnosed ADHD. He’s constantly been made to feel like a bother and worthless by is birth givers. So much so, that he doesn’t truly believe his friends don’t find him to be a bother. Thant’s until Samuel comes around and flips his life upside down. He gave T the tools and confidence he needed to leave that toxic environment and chase his dreams of opening his Private Chef business. Samuel’s a very seasoned and loving man, looking for someone to love. I adored their dynamic and how they fell in love with one another.

I simply don’t adore books with massive age-gaps like this. I this it was at least 22 or so years. Samuel’s daughter was older than Toby, which was something to get used too. However, the love between them, as well as the support from his Family (The boys) and Melissa was beautiful. Shame simply doesn’t exist in this group of people who’ve become family with one another. They only care about respect, love and understanding.

Really Good!

This story was really good. I read it in a day with several stops. Toby! Who doesn’t want a bubbly, bouncy, sweet boy named Toby! Well I know who does and that is Samuel. Toby has been told all his life by his mom and dad that he isn’t worthy. That he’s too much! And that no one would ever want to be around him for long. Of course Toby’s friends think differently but because of the years of his parent’s voice in his head he doesn’t believe it. Not until a very patient Daddy comes along. Samuel sees things are off not long after he meets Toby for the first time. Wanting Samuel to have the best, his daughter ask Toby to give her dad cooking lessons. Both Samuel and Toby are attracted to each other from the start. Toby agrees and Samuel is all for it. Things take off and soon Samuel and Toby are in a Daddy/boy relationship. It’s the sweetest and cutest thing ever. Sammi Cee did a wonderful job in showing just how Toby is and why. She also did a wonderful job in telling just how patient and caring Samuel is. This is a 5 star ⭐️ read. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did 💜

Adorable

I cannot get over how adorable Toby was. My goodness, if there was ever a boy that needed cuddles and snuggles, he was it.

Right from the start, I felt so attached to Toby. I wanted to wrap him up and protect him from his awful parents. And yet, even with the negative things his parents have said to him throughout his life, he’s like a little ray of sunshine. He’s so lovable.

Samuel is the very best Daddy. He really is so gentle and patient with Toby. I loved that his ex-wife was still a positive force in his life. Oftentimes, the ex-wife is painted as a harpy, and that was not the case here. She, and his daughter, encouraged his to get back out there and find someone. He and Toby were just perfect together.

I’d most definitely call this a slow burn, as nearly nothing happens between the two until well after the 60% mark. However, the foundation of friendship and trust that was built in that time was invaluable.

This was such a cute book and a wonderful addition to the series.

This is part of a awesome Daddy series. There is a brilliant mix of personalities in the boys working together. However something in there lives is pulling them down.

This book focuses on Toby, he is such a sweet boy but has the most sucky parents ever. He has awesome friends who love him but he most wants a cuddly Daddy, however due to his parents constantly demeaning him, Toby feels he should really look for a patient Daddy, he feels like he will bug a Daddy so has no hope of finding one.

Toby has great luck though because on helping his bestie with moving day the perfect Daddy for him is practically the first person he sees. His besties dad, Samuel agrees to having Toby teach him how to cook because his daughter worries he will starve without her and Toby and Samuel's relationship blossoms from there. It is a sweet beautiful story which I enjoyed. If anyone deserved to find their perfect Daddy it's Toby.

If you love the sweet reads you will enjoy this one. I personally can't wait for the next.

- MM romance! daddy k!nk, best friends dad, age gap, instalove, found family trope!
- no, i never want Toby to be sad, ever :(
- Melissa was annoying ngl 😂
- Toby is so bossy in the kitchen it’s so cute
- Cameron just straight up giving Samuel the flyer 😂
- i need to see his awful parents punished or i swear to god
- everyone rallying around Toby was so wholesome!!
- okay Melissa was a bit annoying but her fully supporting the relationship was great
- i think the set up is a bit too long for these, it’s a 200 page book and 70% in they’re discussing getting together… it needs like another 100 pages
- LOVE that we got a reunion between Toby, Annie and Adam!! was very very wholesome
- only one sex scene but it was written really well!!
- no third act break up besties x
- Joey helping with the marketing campaign was so sweet omg
- was super proud of Toby for speaking at the meeting but i am pissed his parents so no repercussions for they did!!
- i wanted a fight but that’s because i love the drama hehe
- once again a SUPER sweet read full of lots of love and fluff

Adorably enchanting

Gah, Toby is so freaking adorable. I love his energy, his excitement and his sunshiney-ness. I can’t decide if I’m happier or prouder for him, but I know I love him to pieces. “I’m going to give you the world, my enchanting boy. Just wait. You haven’t seen anything yet.” Heart eyes forever. Samuel is so swoony and I’m a bit jealous that Toby gets to cuddle him whenever he wants, but if anyone deserves and has earned them it’s him—grrr to those vile people. Thankfully Toby has his chosen family and I love how it keeps growing but even more it makes my heart overflow to know they love him just as he is, because he’s amazing, and that they won’t accept him thinking anything less. If you’re looking for a Daddy romance that’s like hot chocolate, this is it: sweet, deliciously fulfilling, will leave you feeling warm and happy, and has all the extra sprinkles you could ever want.

This is the second book in this series and I enjoyed it. It was a nice, easy read, with low angst. Toby is a boy, who comes from a wealthy background. He is the only child of wealthy parents who couldn't be bothered with him unless it was to tell him how much of a disappointment he was. Samuel is the father of one of Toby's closest friends, who hasn't had a boy or girl since his divorce, and now that his daughter is moving out, it is time for him to find somebody again. Due to a little scheming from Samuel's daughter and Toby's friends from work, these two found their HEA. This was a bit of a slow burn and I would have liked to see more of their relationship, but the story work and if believable. Toby had gain confidence in himself and work on the damage that his parent caused him before he was ready for a relationship and Samuel helped him do that. I love these two together. I can't wait for the rest of the series.

Toby's family constantly tell him what a screw-up he is and that they don't agree with his life choices. But his chosen family love him for what he is and is determined to find him a patient Daddy who will be able to tolerate and help him. Daddy Samuel is a patient man and wants his daughter's closest friend as his own as Toby's quirks are all part of his charm. Will he be able to convince the younger man how brave he is facing the world as his true self regardless of the negative voices in his head telling him he’s broken?

I loved this story where Toby's own birth family were so cruel and heartless that it was only through the love and care of a couple who worked for them that he was able to become the man he is now. I loved the way that his found family at the bar was determined to find him the right Daddy to give him all of the love and support that he deserved. This story was easy to read, feel and understand. Contains MM mature content in a BDSM-like DDLB story.

This is just a very average read. I was able to read it in one setting, so it captured my attention. Sammi Cee's writing is very formulaic. Insta-love, very little to no conflict between the two leads, and one sex scene in the end. And of course daddy/ boy kink...which, meh (but the kink has nothing to do with the review because obviously I knew what it was going to be about).
Friendship is written beautifully in this book, as with the last book I read by her. I've read 3 by her now, and she's one I'll read if I'm in a slump. As I said, very formulaic, not a lot of depth to her plots or characters, insta-love (the most boring types of read imo), and 1 sex scene that seems almost random and awkward because there's very little sexual tension written beforehand...
So yeah, if you have kindle unlimited and just need a book to pass a few hours with very little angst, depth, or attention needed, this is one to go. But don't pay for this book, it's not worth it.

I thought that this was a fantastically sweet book. I thought toby was perfect just the way he was he just needed a Daddy to show him that and that is exactly who he hot in Samuel. Samuel is now an empty nester with out a sub to spoil and is feeling restless. Thanks to Toby’s bestie and Samuel’s daughter, these two meet and they can’t help the pull they feel. These to have some things to get through together and apart but they do get through them. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for the rest of the boys to find their Daddies. I would recommend this book and Ms. Sammi as a must read author.

Brilliant addition to this series.
Toby has been put down by his parents all his life, being told he would never amount to anything. But at work at The Tap he has good friends and a good life, but has low self-esteem.
Samuel is Toby's best friend's dad, Melissa. When Melissa moves out Samuel is helping , while Toby comes bearing food. One look at Samuel and Toby is looking at his perfect daddy. But being his besties dad he had to not think about it.
Samuel was hooked. One look at Toby and he became alive.
Brilliant how their relationship grew, Samuel being the perfect daddy to give Toby the confidence he lacked, and all the cuddles.
Melissa is great, but Toby's parents were on another level.
I received an advanced copy of this book for a honest review

Im not a massive fan of Daddy/Boy books but Sammi Cee always writes amazing Daddy book and this one was no exception. I love all these boys already and we're only two books in.

Toby is just adorable, i fell in love with him in Joey's book so im super happy Toby got his book after. Toby is so misunderstood by people except from his friends, yes he has quirks but don't we all. I love how loyal he is to his friends and the bond that they have. I hate that his parents are like they are but what he finds with Samuel is amazing.

Samuel is the father of one of Toby's friends and he finds Toby charming from the start, i love how patient he is with Toby.

This was an awesome second book and i can not wait for the 3rd one .

**ARC Review**

I'm here for Toby...I really loved him the previous book so when I heard he was gonna get his daddy in this one, I just had to read it. Toby was such a wonderful person(inside and out) and I really didn't understand his awful parents but was so glad he had good peeps around him that made sure he continued to shine. When he finally met his bestie dad Samuel, you felt their instant connection. Samuel was the PERFECT patient daddy or my boy Toby. Their getting to know each other period was super sweet and the buildup towards their relationship was the reason I'm loving this series. Loved the ending and I can't wait for the next boy(Dylan) up gets his daddy:)...Highly recommend...5 STARS!!!

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

This is the second book in the Love on Tap: Fragile Hearts series and enjoyable as a standalone. This audiobook is well-paced and carries the developing romance with the right cadence. Toby’s POV parts are faster, to demonstrate his hyperactivity and exuberance, while Samuel’s POV chapters are all a touch slower and deeper pitched, to lend him the gravitas of age and maturity. It was easy to tell those voices from one another, as well as those of Toby’s friends, who always seem to appear as a group.

Toby works hard for what he wants in life. Coming from a family that has expectations foisted onto him, Toby tries his best to make his own way most of the time.
Wanting a Daddy is his secret desire but he knows it will take someone special to deal with all of his baggage.
When his closest friend plays Cupid, he falls hard for a man he least expected to.

Samuel is a Daddy looking for him someone special.
With his daughter finally moving out, he will have the time to focus on a relationship of his own. When he meets Toby, the draw is immediate and it’s up to him to make his boy feel special.

This was such a cute read. We get a story that focuses more on characters interaction and less on the sexy times. I absolutely enjoyed this addition to the series. I can’t wait for the next book. An absolutely enjoyable series so far.

Operation Patient Daddy --> Success

Toby's story breaks your heart and makes you want to hug him and never let go. He's so loveable, sweet, and funny. His parents...ugghh...nasty people. But enter Patient Daddy who provides all the cuddles, unconditional love, and a strong shoulder to lean on that Toby needs. Samuel is so caring and tender with Toby. He gives Toby that little push and nurturing that he needed to blossom and find his inner strength.
This is such a sweet, tender, and funny story. All the boys are so cute and have their own unique personalities. I can't wait for the next book
