GABBY
A good girl gone awol

I knew when I Ex-Laxed our leader’s food that they’d send me to the arena if they caught me. It was worth it to get some of my friends out of this dump. What I didn't expect was the seven-foot-tall Xarc’n hunter who has come to my rescue.

My horned and fanged savior isn’t like any other alien warrior I’ve heard about. He dresses in furs, lives in a cave, and there isn’t a shuttle in sight. Every word sounds like a growl, but my body reacts to him like we belong together.
But I can’t just hide in his den forever. I have to get back to my friends!

TAL’N
A hunter on the run

When I found out about Earth and the compatible females living here, I abandoned my mission to come to this blue-green planet. Hunted by my own kind, I did all I could to stay hidden.

Now I’ve found the female whose scent called to me all through the cold season. Gabby is mine, and I’ll stop at nothing to claim her. Her people are searching for her, and mine now know I exist, but I will level this entire mountain if they try to separate us.

This post-apocalyptic alien romance is filled with action, adventure, and tons of steam. Can be read as a stand-alone or as a part of a series. HEA guaranteed.

Bug fighting alien gods!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😔🤨😛😁🥰

The heroine: Gabby - like May from Hunter’s Price, Gabby was a prisoner in the raiders camp which was located in a cave system in the Rocky Mountains during the bugpocalypse. For those that don’t know what that is, it is when everything on Earth went to Hell after giant alien bugs infested the planet. Some of them had venom tipped razor sharp claws and appendages, some of them spit venom and others were even worse.

The Hero: Tal’n - he and his kind were clones of the Xarc’n warriors who were once feared from the far reaches of the galaxy. His race created the bugs, which they soon lost control of when the bugs decimated their home world. They created clones to go from planet to planet trying to save each one from the scourge of alien bugs. Sometimes they succeeded and sometimes they failed, but when some of the warriors went to Earth, they found that they were compatible with the females and found their fated mates. Tal’n was from a contingent of Xarc’n hunters that were assigned to another planet. Though that planet was a lost cause, so they came to Earth to find mates. There are also some faulty clones from one specific original warrior that have no use for mates, and they have come to find these AWOL hunters and drag them back to their mission.

The Story: Tal’n had been chased relentlessly by the same hunter that chased Xic’n in the last book. He had to abandon his shuttle and move into a cave. So this storyline was much different than any previous one I had read. The Xarc’n hunters and their mates are generally very safe inside their shuttles as the shuttles have cloaking technology and the bugs can’t penetrate the armor on the shuttles. So Tal’n and Gabby were in more danger than most pairs in this series.

“One lunger spotted me and advanced. A lunger looked like a cross between a killer ant, a praying mantis, and a grasshopper, except it was the size of a bear, and its front claws were edged with a deadly toxin. It also had a taste for human flesh.”

I did like this story quite a bit. Gabby was definitely a captive of Tal’n at first and it took him a while to get her some translators since the pair he had saved for her got caught behind a cave in when the bugs started coming into his cave before he saved her. Though the language barrier wasn’t too bad since he could understand her, and he could at least reply to yes/no questions.

Like all the previous books in this series, and the original Xarc’n warriors' series, the world building and descriptions of everything from the bugs to the Xarc’n technology was on point. The characters were well developed and likable and the storylines in each book differ enough that I don’t feel like I am just reading the same thing over and over again. I plan to read every book in this series since I really love these bug fighting alien gods.

So this one wasn't bad compared to other books I've read in this genre.. It was just kind of boring to me. I didn't really care about the two MCs here and all the talk and scenes of the different species of giant prehistoric bugs that have collapsed society on Earth, just wasn't all that interesting to me. It wasn't scary or intense. It was..I hate to use this word again, but kinda boring..

The story, the characters involved and the outcomes etc,.. were all written well. I just could not connect with or care about what was written on these pages. So that's why this one got 3 stars for me.
*shrugs* it happens from time to time.

Another warrior finds his special human lady and I AM HERE FOR IT.

This time around we have Gabby (the lady who infamously Ex-Laxed the raider's food to help facilitate an escape) and Tal'n. Tal'n has been living rough and on his own for the past two years and he isn't tapped into the hunter network. Which means he's a little wilder and a little less knowledgeable when it comes to human interactions. Which, in turn, leads to a few communication issues between him and Gabby. Well, plus, Gabby doesn't have a translator at first so the communication is pretty once-sided until that gets rectified.

That said, these two don't have a tough time communicating when all is said and done. The specifics might get a little lost, but Gabby figures out pretty quickly that Tal'n is only there to protect her and soon she's cuddling up to the big guy in more ways than one.

A daring rescue, some well-spent alone time with just the two of them, bugs, raiders, a warrior who isn't used to being around others, and a lady who loves being among friends. MORE PLEASE!

more like 2.5

I am done with this series. It isn’t holding its wow factor anymore. It’s very cookie cutter. It is bland and boring now.

This was such a great read and a fab addition to the series. Tal'n and Gabby were a perfect match, after they got through their oft times hilarious miscommunications and her desire to not fall for him ;P Expect a ton of action and those nasty bugs to keep you glued to your reader - and sighing over the sizzling chemistry between them. This story is well written, with great world building and a whole host of interesting characters and I can't wait for more :D

Xarc’n Warriors Mountains is a 4-book post apocalypse series written by Lynnea Lee. The books are set on Earth, after an alien invasion from space bugs, where the few human survivors are still fighting for survival daily. The invasive species, controlled by a “queen,” have built hives inside major cities, and killed (and ate) most humans. The space bugs (aka scourge) carry an infectious and deadly bacteria. Any human that became desperate enough (from starvation) to capture and eat a scourge, turned into a heavily contagious zombie that must be avoided at all cost. The scourge will stop at nothing to return the bacteria to its hive. The remaining humans have taken refuge outside the major cities. Some forming survivalist groups and cults that stand against the Xarc’n Warriors. The Xarc’n Warriors are aliens that have come to help Earth by ridding it of their scourge infestation. The Xarc’ns, being perfect clones specifically designed to fight the bugs, reside in territories around the world. This series follows the Xarc’n Warrior group that resides in the Rocky Mountains. Xarc’n Hunter’s are over 7 feet tall, purple skin, ram-like horns sprouting from their temples, sharp teeth with fangs, and retractable claws. They all seem to have muscles on top of their muscles; no dad bods here. Their females are extinct, which is why they’ve been intrigued to match and mate with women of Earth (they are compatible and can have offspring together).

Hunter’s Promise is book 3 in the series and follows the Xarc’n Warrior Tal’n and his human mate Gabby. If you real the last book, then you’ve already met Gabby and Tal’n, though we didn’t know his name at the time. Gabby is the female that was placed inside the arena with May from the Raiders after the rest of the human captives were rescued. She had an injured ankle at the time and wasn’t able to flee with the rest. Tal’n was the Xarc’n Warrior that grabbed her and took off without a trace. This book follows their story. Like Xik’n, Tal’n was one of the clone warriors that defected, leaving w doomed planet behind to help save Earth. He was even a part of Xik’ns crew, but he’s been alone all this time, fighting the scourge and searching for his mate near the caves of the raiders after smelling her scent. The scent belonged to Gabby, and he once he found her, he took her and ran. Unsure of the motives of the Xarc’n Warriors from the cliff, he ditched his spacecraft and remained solitary until he found Gabby. Maria Gonzales (middle name Gabriella so she goes by “Gabby”) was a woman who was attached to Big Bear (one of the bikers) after her brother Miguel died and he promised to take care of her. They both ended up a part of the raiders crew by circumstance, but didn’t agree with how things were ran. Tal’n wasn’t able to communicate with Gabby at first due to the lack of translators. He understood her, but she couldn’t understand him. Since he ditched his ship after not being able to remove the tracking beacons that would lead the Hunters to him, he salvaged as much from his ship he could into his cave home before decommissioning his spacecraft. He knew Gabby was his mate, which was the very thing that brought him to Earth in the first place, so he essentially kidnapped her and brought her back to his cave. He had certain comforts in his cave, like a healing unit he used to heal Gabby’s ankle. They eventually (about half way through the book) found a translator so they could communicate. After coming across a scourge next, Tal’n decided that it was too dangerous for them to stay, so he decided to bring her to the Tech Wizard. When they got there, however, the Tech Wizard was gone. As we already know from prior books, he lives at the ledge now (which is basically a rich person’s ski lodge that’s build into the side of a cliff). Then they found their way to the ledge. Gabby got upset with Tal’n a lot throughout the book because, why not? She was just one of those characters that didn’t know a good thing when it slapped her in the face.

The denial from Gabby, and how often she fought the connection to Tal’n, had gotten on my nerves. She woke up next to him naked with a hard on and she was like “I can’t be attracted to him, he’s an alien!” Then they kissed and she was like “I can’t believe I willingly kissed him, he’s an alien!” Eventually I was just like “b*tch, shut up.” She got on my nerves. Eventually, she gave in after she got her translator and he spoke sweet nothings to her. Their first intimate act took place 55% into the book. Admittedly, I am 100% on board with the Xarc’n species. Their protective, aggressive, possessive, dominant, controlling need of need of their mate is my kind of flavor. The way they unintentionally purr, growl and roar is kinda cute too. When a mating band takes place, the Xarc’n Warrior physically can not stop touching his mate for a certain period of time. Which is different and quite endearing. Tal’n was upset throughout the book that he wasn’t physically stuck to Gabby when he knew she was his mate. Each section of a Xarc’n cock is shaped like a sex toy; a head with a thick ridge around the widest part and it dipped in before the next part started. Picture a butt-plug with 3 round balls, each one bigger than the last. I imagine it to be 10 times better than sex with any human man. *sigh* If only.

The book doesn’t suck; it’s filled with adventure and a little romance. I just prefer my novels to be more on the HOTT side. I recommend reading, at least once, if you enjoy a wild ride. Onto the next book in the series…

This is book 3 of the Xarc’n warriors and I was just as captivated with this book as I was with the first two but overall I think this is my favorite and I loved all the old characters that showed up in this one. Gabby has been living with the humans where the woman are treated as slaves but after an attack by the Xarc’n warriors the woman are now kept inside but plans are being made to get them all out. And it’s Gabby’s job to put laxatives in the food so all the men eat it and while they are busy the women can escape it works perfectly and they escape except for Gabby and another female and Geoff has them taken to the pit to be eaten by the scourge. Tal’n is an Xarc’n warrior that went against his orders and came to earth looking for his mate but he was being tracked by one of his own Yaju’k to bring them back in or kill them and that’s why he abandoned his ship and has been hiding in the caves watching the humans and while watching them he catches a gorgeous scent of his mate but he’s not sure which one she is and then there is a commotion and there are females running out to be rescued and then there is an Xarc’n ship that lands taking the woman inside but the human leader Geoff captures two females and heads for the arena to be killed by the scrounge pets he keeps and at this point Tal’n can smell his mate but which one is she and he was just about to go in and save her when Yaju’k rams the wall to take the hunters back that have broken the locks on the cages to woman are in and while he is busy I race to the females and find my mate and I take her from the others to my cave to keep her safe. At first Gabby is scared of the Xarc’n warrior at first and he talks to her but she doesn’t understand him but when he feeds her she wonders why he hasn’t take her to his friends. I’m trying to talk to my mate but it appears she doesn’t understand me we need to get to my ship for a translator. Can she get Tal’n to take her to her friends when he is not one of the hunters in there group and does she believe that she is his mate because they haven’t bonded and can he trust the other Xarc’n hunters not to take his mate from him. There is so much more to this book and so much I didn’t put in this review but I know this is a must read as is all the others in this series. Brilliant book.

this would be a great TV SERIES Netflix are you listening?

second series is just as good as first These two connected series, Reads like those 70’s creature feature movies meets modern living dead & post apocalyptic tv/movies & eight legged freaks BUT WITH BIG MUSCULAR HOT SMEXY ALIENS & smexy ROMANCE !
Giant monster galactic killer man eating bugs have taken over the planet everything has shut down it’s fight for your life ALL THE TIME until, hot smexy horned & horny alien hunters come to fight the bugs! And claim their human mates. Fun read. Two series connected, now got some good survival skills methods inside too from those post apocalyptic survivalist

3 minor points of contention w/ this particular book with regard to continuity issues.

1. You said there where 3 xarc’n males Gabby had seen, but there were actually 4, the three you listed and you left out the crazed lunatic x’arc’n hunter, defective 00509 who hunts the other hunters who were not supposed to go to earth. Yahz’k, I think? can’t remember his name. One of many though she saw him before May was rescued May said,”he is not one of ours” he is a lunatic, he hunts the hunter’s “

2. Uhm excuse me but May was already pregnant before gabby,so Miguel could not be the first child born in that area. The clubhouse and the lodge on the ledge are grouped together and they intermingle, or did you forget? You should have Miguel playing with his best friend whoever ..May’s son’s. Name is. Which you did not even bother to mention if you are gonna do an epilogue and catch up in some.. years later… then. Why not mention May’s son. Why not have them be friends. As they would gave definitely grown up together and being zarc/human hybrids they would definitely be friends probably competitive but friends

3. Why would they toss peach pits into compost bin? Why would they not set them, raised in a glass of water to sprout so they can be traded to those growing fruit? Fruit trees. Duh! What a waste considering this series & one before meticulously points out how all the people are crest new ways to become sustainable on their new post-apocalyptical earth.

Tal'n is an Xarc'n hunter that came to Earth to help kill the scourge. The problem is though, his contingent had been assigned to another planet. Their assignment was hopeless and the knowledge of compatible mates on Earth was a big draw. Hunter's cloned from original warrior 00592 hated their actions and were hunting them down on Earth. One had gone crazy enough to even try to kill him. Tal'n had to abandon his shuttle and go native. He has been living in a cave and killing scourge by himself. He is afraid to contact the other hunters because they might either turn him in or he would lead the crazy hunter to them. Tal'n's quest for a mate may be successful soon. He has scent her in a human compound but he doesn't know which one. When chaos descends on the compound and lots of humans escape, the scent leads him to one of two women who were captured by the human thugs who controlled the compound. They were about to be given to the scourge when things get even crazier. The crazy warrior crashes into the wall holding the scourge back and releases them to go after all the humans. Tal'n was able to grab his mate and escape. Now he just has to keep her safe and start the mating bond.

Gabby treated the food for the compound with ex-lax to incapacitate the controlling leaders of her compound. They have been bullying and threatening regular people for too long and it is time to escape. However she twists her ankle when she runs to escape and is captured. She was sent to the arena to be given to the scourge. However crazy things happened and she finds herself being kidnapped by an alien hunter that looks like a caveman. He drags her back to his cave instead of letting her go to her people. He is very kind and treats her better than almost anyone else. She has no translator so she has no clue that he has claimed her as his mate. Somehow she has to convince him to let her go.

I absolutely love this series and this book is a brilliant addition. It’s very well written with vivid details and an exciting storyline. There’s a rescue/kidnapping, a mate bond, action, danger, passion, steamy scenes and much more, all with a happily ever after ending. Tal’n is a warrior that came to Earth against orders and had to abandon his shuttle after being hunted by a deranged hunter. He’s keeping watch on the humans in the cave, waiting to see his mate and rescue her. As some of the humans are escaping, his mate and May are captured by the leader and are about to be put in the arena. Mays mate is about to rescue them but Tal’n isn’t going to miss the opportunity to rescue his mate. He takes her to the cave he’s moved into but without translators they can’t really communicate. Gabby tells him she needs to go to her friends or the group of hunters but Tal’n refuses, fearing that he will be sent on his original mission or that Gabby would be taken from him. They make a treacherous trip to his hidden shuttle to use the onboard translator. Only, after proclaiming that Gabby is his mate, there’s a bang and the power fails. They go back to the cave with still no way to communicate. After days of being alone with nothing to do in the cave and mother natures monthly arrives, Gabby snaps at Tal’n. This leads to him doing something dangerous and almost dying in order to find some in ear translators. It’s then that he realises they can’t stay in the cave any longer, but going to Gabbys friends or the hunters is still not an option as the mating bond hasn’t triggered yet and he doesn’t want to risk losing Gabby. Unfortunately they have to go through a lot more to get their happily ever after ending, but it’s worth it in the end. I highly recommend reading the whole series if you haven’t already, it really is an incredible reading experience.

Gabby was running for her life and freedom and the last thing she expected or wanted to see what a flipping huge purple Xarc'n hunter charging towards her looking like some kind of demented Neanderthal in furs. He looked good but that is not the point! Fair play he did get her to safety by running on the back of the bugs (!!!) but somehow, he isn't like the other hunters she has seen and he doesn't seem to be able to speak English either. Great, so now she is stuck in cave with him, shall we say kidnapped... possibly… He is looking after her, protecting her, feeding and clothing her as well which is lovely but she is still away from people, her people. He doesn't seem to want to take her to her friends nor to join the other hunters. When he nearly dies in order to get a translator so that they can speak she does concede that though they haven’t been together that long, that she wouldn't want to do without him now. Tal'n has watched the group of humans for some time. There is a scent that he catches snatches off now and then. A scent which tell him to stay and try to locate the source. All he has ever wanted, since he knew it to be a possibility, was a mate and a family. He had to ditch all his tech including his shuttle so that he was not himself killed by another somewhat crazed hunter who had made it his mission to annihilate any hunters who chose to journey to Earth to help the humans fight the scourge and also locate their mates. When Tal’n finds that Gabby is the one he has been searching for, for so long, he cannot miss the chance. He grabs her and retreats to his cave. He has been alone and she is his light. He just needs to get her to see that but she is determined to go back to find others. What will happen now? He wants his mate happy and he wants her to himself, she wants to run away and be with people... how's that going to work?

I Love This Series!

Gabby has been held hostage by a rebel human group in a compound in a bunch of caves. The leaders keep the women underground so they can’t escape. When a group of them plan their escape, everyone gets away except Gabby and May. The leader puts them in the arena and is going to let the scourge loose to kill them. Fortunately May’s hunter comes to rescue her. In the confusion an unknown hunter runs in an rescues Gabby and takes her back to his cave.

Tal’n abandoned his mission when he heard the females on earth were compatible with the Xarc’n warriors. He has been on his own for the past two years, avoiding other hunters and humans. With a hunter from his mother ship on his tail he had to abandon his shuttle and communication device so he couldn’t be tracked. He has been living in the cave and fighting the scourge by himself. He won’t leave the area because he can smell his mate but he hasn’t found her yet. He has been watching the human compound. He is sure she is there but he can’t get to her. He is watching when the escape attempt happens and sees Gabby put in the arena. When another hunter steals the other female, Tal’n sees his chance and takes it!

Gabby figures this is the end so when a huge hunter runs in and grabs her she doesn’t fight him. She ends up in his cave with no way to communicate with him. What follows is a touching and frequently funny journey as they both struggle to make sense of each other and fight the scourge for survival. Seems finding your mate and keeping her isn’t quite as easy as Tal’n had thought!.

I loved this book. The Xarc'n series is one of my favorites. I love the dynamics of this spinoff series, and this one was no less exciting. I was fascinated by Tal'n. He was a Hunter gone rogue so to speak when he abandoned his mission to come to Earth when he heard human females were compatible with Hunters. He'd been living alone in a cave and abandoned his shuttle to avoid being tracked by the Hunters looking for him, and avoided contact with the Hunters on Earth. He still fought the scourge, but didn't venture far as he scented his mate in a nearby human settlement but had to means of finding her. Until one day an opportunity presented itself. Gabby and other human females were held captive in a compound by a group of human men and devised a plan to escape. Almost all of them did except her and May, who were then taken to the arena to be devoured by the alien bugs. When Hunters attack to save them, Gabby is taken away by a Hunter and it becomes clear he wasn't with the rescue group. She wants to return to her friends. But Tal'n has finally found his mate and doesn't want to lose her. I loved watching these two grow close and their relationship develop. Excellent book. 5 stars.

I really liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable although frustrating at times. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. My only issue with this story was the lack of communication AFTER they were able to communicate. Like, why run away instead of talking about the issue with the other person involved if you have a question about their actions?!? Tal’n had been hiding out from the other hunters because he didn’t want them to make him leave and go back to his original assignment. While he was hiding, he was intrigued by a wonderful scent so he stuck around the area to figure out who the scent was coming from. Gabby had tried to escape from a group of survivors but was caught. Tal’n soon figured out that the scent he was hunting came from Gabby. They had an interesting start to their story as they spent part of it being unable to talk to each other. There was some drama and angst but it resolved well. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Tal'n has been on his own, avoiding the crazy Hunters trying to kill him ever since he left his original mission to find his mate on Earth. He's been living off grid, killing the scourge while searching for his mate the last two years. He's had hints of her tantalizing scent but hasn't tracked her down until now.

Maria Gabriella Hernandez Morales aka Gabby and her friends joined a human encampment not knowing how corrupt they were. When a planned escape has her on the wrong side of freedom a Xarc'n warrior jumps in and kidnaps her for himself.

Tal'n knows Gabby is his but a language barrier and false information gives them a rocky start, both figuratively and literally. Tal'n's devotion to caring and protecting his mate would melt anyone's heart.

Hunter's Promise is a sweet alien mate romance, that restores family to a lonely hunter and brings happiness and renewed hope to his mate. I really enjoyed this mini-series within the Xarc'n world.

Gabby and Tal'n

Gosh I just love this series! Tal'n and Gabby's story is an awesome addition!! Hunter's Promise can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the entire series just because it's awesome!!

Tal'n is on the run from his own kind. When he heard about compatible mates on Earth, he abandoned his mission to instead search for his mate. She's in trouble with a group of her own kind and he steps in to save her, but communication is a hurtle they have to overcome. In order to hide, he had to get rid of his shuttle and translator technology to avoid being tracked.

Gabby is happy the sexy warrior saved her but she has friends that need her and she wants to be reunited with them. Trying to communicate that is an issue however very entertaining. This only adds to the depth of the story and makes it interesting between these two who face many foes. The chemistry is off the charts and what an adventure to experience!!

This story is well written with great world building and a completely enjoyable journey overall. I highly recommend this book and series!!

Muscled, purple, hot, alien protector with horns and special eggplant - please! Tal'n (H) is a Xarc'n hunter who abandoned his mission on another planet to come and find his mate on Earth. He's been living on his own in a cave and battling the bug scourge in the mountains. Tal'n has also been observing the raider's compound and keeps catching a special scent until he realizes that it's coming from one of the women, Gabby (h), being forced into the fight arena. He realizes that Gabby is his mate and step in to save her, only to take her away to his hidden mountain cave. Unable to communicate with one another Tal'n has to convince Gabby that he's no threat and is in fact something much to her. As they get to know one another, things take a decidedly hot, steamy, and intense turn. Lots of action and adventure. Fun to see characters from past books/series. The books in the Xarc'n Warriors: Mountains series should be read in order - you'll get a better feel for the overall storyline and characters, and ideally read it after the original Xarc'n series.

Tal'n has been fighting the scourge on earth for two years, and searching for his mate. He has been catching her scent but hasn't found her yet. Gabby and many others being held captive in the caves break out but she and May are caught and thrown into the arena. May's mate rescues her and Tal'n gets Gabby out and back to his cave. They are unable to communicate. Was she kidnapped or saved? As I read, I was angry at how some humans treated others, scared about the scourge (alien bugs), drawn to Tal'n and his searh for his mate and happy when he found her. I was scared and angry along with Gabby. There was humor when she couldn't communicate with Tal'n. The scourge was close and creepy, can fly or spit acid. And spicy steam as their connection developed. Danger, angst, misunderstanding, steam, protective and caring aliens are all immersed in this bugpocolypse story. Read the series in order if you can , for better flow of the story.

With each of the Xarc'n Warrior stories created by Lynnea Lee we are becoming extended members of this amazing family of aliens. Learning the back story of each warrior and how they find their mates is addictive and so tantalizingly erotic I want the GPS directions to their compound so I can join this amazing group of aliens and humans.
Tal'n and Gabby are so sweet - Gabby understandably isn't sure about Tal'n as the other humans weren't. She has listened to the lies the governments have spread about the aliens but seeing for herself how they fight the bugs, how they protect their groups has been an eye opener for her.
Tal'n has been a loner and he has obstacles to overcome as well.
The story leaves nothing to the imagination. It is full of emotion, adventure, betrayal, trust and above all else, love.
Highly recommended. Each book can be read on it's own, but once you've read one - you'll want the others.

Very good continuation of the series. The "mountain" aliens seem more versatile that he plane aliens. Using the "tools" and in this case the vehicles to help with the fight against the bugs.
The story continues with the "rescue/kidnapping" of Gabby. I liked Gabby. Smart, with common sense and a good sense of family. Thinks on her feet. She wants to help the ones who need it. Even when the repercussions were bad and she knew she would be punished or killed.
Tal'n is a loner. One of the ones who "defected" and came to Earth looking for their one and only. He had been looking for two years.
I loved the chemistry between the two of them.
Well written, lots of action, eventual steam with the budding romance, and as always a great HEA and no cliffhanger.
The flow of the book was good. Characters well developed. As stated above a great continuation to the series.

In the previous story, we saw an Xarc'n swoop into the arena and save the girl locked up with May. In this story, we get to see what let up to Tal'n being there to save the day and what Gabby felt about it.

Tal'n is one of the Xarc'n that chose to go to earth instead of their assigned planet. He knows his mate is near the cave, but cannot find out who the delectable scent is coming from until during the escape attempt.

Gabby is the woman who laced the food with Exlax to give them a chance to escape. It was not appreciated and Tal'n swooped in just in time. The problem is she has no idea what he is saying and he is going further and further away from her friends.

Tal'n has given up practically everything in pursuit of finding a mate. It was interesting to see how he adapted to living on Earth on his own. A great addition to the series.

Wonderful story that's about Tal'n and Gabby. Tal'n came to Earth to find his mate against his orders of fighting on another planet, this makes him wary, so he avoids the other hunters not knowing they are friend or foe. He tore his shuttle apart to avoid being tracked. Gabby helped Big Bear and her friends escape but gets caught and gets thrown in the arena. Tal'n who's been watching the group because he smells his mate rescues Gabby. Tal'n takes her to his cave in the mountain. Gabby is angry thinking she was going to be reunited with her friends. Tal'n is living bare-to-the-bone and his communicator is behind a rock cave-in wall where the scourge live. Without a way to communicate can they find an understanding as they get to know each other? Will Gabby convince Tal'n to return her to her friends? I devoured this touchily, romantic, bugapocalyptic story that I received via Booksprout and that I volunteer to read and review.

Gabby is a human trying to survive in the bug apocalyptic world. She put laxatives in the food of the human group’s leaders. That ended her up in the arena to fight to the death. But Gabby was rescued by a big alien purple Xarc’n warrior with horns.
Tal’n left his mission to another planet to come to Earth. His human mate was here. He has been on the run and hiding out for years. He knows that Gabby is his mate. They have attraction and chemistry but so far the mating bond has happened yet. Together Gabby and Tal’n fight the scourge of bugs. They explore their steamy relationship. But Gabby needs to find her friends. Tal’n has no shuttle and Xarc’n equipment after his is destroyed. They need to interact with others to gain knowledge, support and supplies. Plus human mates can produce offsprings. So a community is a good support system.
Has a HEA.

Gabby and Tal'n had a rocky beginning. Gabby had no translator to understand what Tal'n was saying, but his actions spoke louder than words. Tal'n is an over protective male, that lost touch with the current world. He had been hiding alone and looking for his mate for a long time. He'd do anything for his mate, including going into danger to get a translator. As their relationship grows they have a few bumps and bruises, but in the end they have the family they've always wanted.
I thought this book was romantic as Tal'n never had a doubt about Gabby being his mate despite the mate bond not activating for a long time. He'd ran into danger and was so scared to loose her that he'd take on anything and anyone to keep her safe and with him.
There's plenty of action, adventure, steaminess and love in this book. I loved it.

Tal'n is a hunter forced to give up his shuttle, cut off from the other warriors, not knowing who he can trust. From the ship that defied orders to come to Earth and join the battle, he wants to fight the bugs, and find a mate... but will other warriors help him, or turn on him?

Gabby has been part of a group of survivors that's been hiding in caves for 2 years. Their hierarchy left a lot to be desired, but breaking free of the jerks in charge isn't easy, and suddenly she's not sure if she's been rescued or kidnapped.

This done in one stands nicely on its own, though it does tie in to other stories in this Universe. A great story about trust, the strengths of villages, hazards of corrupt leadership, and power of teamwork.

I was gifted with a copy of this book and chose to share my review.

Another winner for the series!🔥🔥💖💖

This is Tal’n and Gabby's story. Tal’n left his assignment when he heard that females from Earth were compatible as mates. As he hides from those he who want to capture him and send him back to his unit and those who he fears are not friends he finds Gabby. Gabby was recaptured at the end of the last book when she help a group of rebels get out and now they are sending her to be eaten by the bugs in the arena . Tal’n sees his mate in trouble and as a diversion is made and another rescue is on the way he steals his Gabby and the story really starts! With a bit of a language barrier and danger around every turn this couple get to know each other slowly friendship forms and passion follows. It's a great addition to the whole series 🔥🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖💖🔥🔥🔥🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖

I absolutely love this series. Each book I read is full of action and characters that you just fall in love with. Tal’n is a reasonably young Xarc’n warrior, he has been on his own for a long time without contact with his fellow warriors, because he was one of the Xarc’n warriors who left their assigned planets to go fight the bugs on earth, but also to find his mate. Gabby has been in the caves for two years, where over time she has become malnourished like a lot of the others being kept in the caves. Tal’n knows she is his mate, he finds the right time to rescue her and takes it. This is their journey of discovery and they fight for their future together. Well worth reading this story.

Tal’n has been alone ever since he went against orders and came to earth. But even before that he was mostly alone. Gabby is a people person and even through the bugpocalypse has managed to remain with some childhood friends. Things aren't easy-peasy getting these two on the same page, but the ride is so great.

I loved these two individually and together. There is something about Tal'n and how hard he has fought to not only make it on his own but to find a mate and treat her well. And his whole story makes me so happy he found Gabby. And I love how Gabby had to deal with some real problems coming from living in a cave.

I enjoyed all the secondary characters in this. Especially Ror'k. He was such a great surprise. I hope somehow he can defy the odds and find some love of his own.
