So very satisfying. All that wonderful world building detail adding the perfect seasoning to a delicious love story.
Surit.. an ‘architect’ who has a deep ingrained moral compass. Finds himself taking on the mission to sync with Tennal . A ‘reader’ who has spent the last 8 or so month running from his Aunt, a legislator, determined to rein him in.

It’s not a good start for either of them. Both getting caught up in political intrigue and finding their lives and minds are at risk.
Tennal. Right from the very first chapter. I could feel his frustration, panic and fury with his situation. He was such a well developed character. I was in his side completely. Surit… always needing to do the right thing.. puts him at odds with his orders. I loved how he responded to Tennal with respect and trust… seeing so much more in Tennal than a spoiled rich legislators nephew trying to shirk responsibility.

I just loved every moment of these two slowly connecting emotionally. Whether synched or not. They were going to risk everything to save the other.

Brilliant side characters and a plot to get your teeth into . This is another memorable story from a very talented author.

A new to me author has dazzled me. This is the best sci-fi book I have read in years! Her prose creates a vision of surreal beauty to a mind expanded beyond human limits within a world that flaunts gender identity as a type of jewelry but retains its fear of abuse of power. And it all began with alien technology used to give a few mind bending powers, that are written into their genes. Or at least they thought it was technology, until the current generation, evolving nefarious military plots, and power grabs on an epic scale. Complex characters, romance and space battles. I loved it.
