After my boyfriend has a not-so-little accident with his new female best friend, I jump at the opportunity to take a small vacation with my brother to Salem for Halloween. He's annoyed, but his two best friends? Not so much.
Halloween and Salem speak to my soul. There's something about the thrill of being scared, the adrenaline that makes your heart pound while you fight your mind to stay in control. Then, once it's all over, the rush of wanting to do it again.
I'm drawn to horror and fear. Scary movies? Check.
Deep, dark fantasies? Check.
Being chased through the Halloween Witch Hunt by two shirtless, neon skull mask wearing men covered in blood? Check.
Maybe I'm sick and twisted. But there's a reason villains are often painted as hot, seductive men.
It's because women like me exist. And we want to scream in more ways than one.
Steph is an author and lawyer who made the switch to write chaotic dark romance and why choose novels. She loves watching UFC, is a Swiftie and enjoys training karate when her dodgy ankle allows. She also has a crippling addiction to caffeine and cliterature.
You know what? For how short it was there was a pretty good amount of plot, character development and relationship building so I'm pretty happy with this. Could it have used more of all of the above and been a bit longer? Sure, but I think there was a good balance.
There were three steamy scenes, two with all three of them and one with just Audrey. I like that we had a build up towards them, because even in novellas I want to know why I should care about the characters and their relationships with one another.
I wouldn't mind seeing more of these characters in the future, in another Halloween novella or just seeing how they're getting on now that it's passed.
Audrey is going though a break up since she caught her ex sleeping with his best friend she’s off with her brother and his best friends to Salem to enjoy Halloween. It’s a rocky start since her brother is annoying but she has some good vibes with the brothers best friends.
It’s a pretty cute start the best friends Nate and Brax are super nice they don’t mind her tagging along. Visit to sex shop to get a first toy was pretty funny. And what a name Bugs ;) To drinking and confessing at a graveyard her dirty fantasy. Now it’s a witch hunt that has Audrey running from 2 men in mask and how they take her is delicious. But there is some awkwardness after between all three since they don’t know how to go forward.
It ends with a HFN between the three
Om drama, no Cheating, Sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhores
primal play 20H/20H/18h CNC blood/knife play stalking/chasing BSDM including bondage masturbation (surely not, but you never know!) choking HFN
I was looking for a short and spicy novella and I found exactly what I wanted :) bonus: this one mostly takes place at Halloween in SALEM. *loved* that. it's brother's best friends (yes I do mean plural 👀) there's some knıfe play, a little bandage and some CNC. definitely recommend if you're looking for any of that ^
This was so good! The banter was hilarious and cute and the characters were very likable. There's not a lot of room for character growth or background in a novella but it had just the right amout. The spicy was also top notch. A solid 🌶🌶🌶.5 (my 🌶 ratings are definitely different than other peoples. I factor in many different things and I very rarely give a book 5 🌶. I actually haven't yet.)
Another short and spicy Novella! I wish I would have picked this up during Halloween time because it would have been the perfect season to read it in, but this was still good no matter what time of year you read it! All of the characters were enjoyable and I resonated with them a lot. For someone not Salem to write this I feel like they honestly did a great job and made it super relatable. Although this was just a novella, I would love to see this written into a full length book continuing their story and spicy life!
Wickedly Sweet by Steph Macca is an unapologetically sizzling cauldron of desire and danger, where magic and lust collide in the most tantalizing way. Let’s talk about that witch hunt scene—pure adrenaline! The tension is palpable as Audrey, chased by not one but two masked men, stands at the center of the storm. The eerie light bouncing off the vibrant masks only amplifies the thrill of the chase, blending danger with seduction in a way that has you holding your breath.
And the spicy scenes? Get ready for a serious toe-curling experience! Macca doesn’t just hint at the heat—she plunges you straight into it. Every encounter leaves you aching, wishing you could swap places with Audrey as she navigates not just the “ Is this right” perils but the fiery passion that threatens to consume her.
If you thought you were just here for the Halloween fun, think again—because the steam in *Wickedly Sweet* is so thick, you’ll need a fan to cool off.
“But mark my words. If we cross paths again in the dark, you better run. Because we will catch you, and when we're finished with you, we're going to ruin you in the best way possible."
Audrey joins her older brother and his two best friends on a little getaway to Salem, MA for Halloween. Audrey loves anything and everything spooky, especially the idea of being scared and the adrenaline that comes with it. On Halloween, she decides to join the witch hunt and is being chased by two shirtless, neon-masked men. And they are determined to catch her.
Truly the definition of short and spicy. With this being less than 80 pages, this is definitely a good book to pick up if you need help reaching your reading goals. Very fast paced, not a whole lot of character development, but that’s to be expected. Overall, spooky and entertaining!!
Very short, extremely fast-paced and OTT, but it's to be expected with this kind of novella. I didn't go into it expecting much else but still wish we got more than we did.
There was some bondage and stalking/chasing and knife play, but I disagree with the claim at the beginning about there being cnc. It's all wanted and the fmc never plays the part of pretending she doesn't want it, so I don't see what they did being classified as cnc. No big deal that it isn't in the book, just wanted to mention that in case someone is reading it for that specific kink since the author claimed it was in the book.
Consuming my halloween tbr in the middle of september because all i plan to read these two months is spooky horror thrillers and wild spooky themed romances.
So this was a little wild and my only regret is the fact that the characters aren't a bit older, the fmc is 18 and both mmcs are 20 so taking how wild this was (it had blood play, knife play, chasing, masked men, Rp salem's witch hunt etc) i'd prefered older characters. It was also a brother's best friends moment which we like.
The way this short, dark, Halloween romance had me in a CHOKEHOLD 😏.. This book was my cup of tea 🫖🤌🏽. For me, it was the PERFECT amount of spice/darkness and I kind of loved that there was HEA at the end 👏🏽.
The heroine was a virgin but these boys were SO SWEET and really took care of her. I loved that they were attentive but also VERY hot and primal 🥵.
I loved that this was another KU book and only 73 pages y'all 👏🏽. It's definitely worth the read. It goes great with the Halloween vibes and is perfect for any dark romance girlies who love a good reverse harem 👏🏽! Just make sure you check your trigger warnings going in 🫶🏽.
