From the author of the popular Taking Care trilogy, comes another heartwarming older boy/younger Daddy romance.

When my mother asks me to keep an eye on her ex-husband, she doesn’t mention that I should keep my hands off him. That means he’s fair game, right?

My mother’s ex-husband, Mason, was never right for her.
He can’t hold down a job.
He has no sense of self-preservation.
And he lacks the resolve to take control of his life.
I never thought they belonged together

Why then did he seem like the perfect match for the Daddy that I am?

When I take a few days off for the holiday to relax, the last person I expect to see in our cabin next door is Mason.
His naïveté brings out my protective instincts.
The brilliant artistic talent he hides makes me want to show him off to the world.
And the way he looks at me has me longing to taste what’s forbidden between us.
Mason seems to feel the same way I do, but can I convince him to return home with me and allow me to take care of him?

Dashing and Daddy is a stand-alone holiday romance with an older boy who needs guidance in his life and a younger Daddy craving to give it to him.

Sweetness overload and pretty insta-lovey dovey but sooo so lovely.

“He’s a darling man, so loving and…simple. Yes, simple is the word I am looking for. If we lived in a world where people were kind, he would have thrived, but we know how horrible life can treat those not prepared to grab life by the horns and stare it down. Mason’s not the kind of man to take any bull by the horns.”

I wanted to give Mason a hug so badly. What he went through was really awful - in the beginning I was really near tears myself. Mason really was a special character and one I haven’t met before in a book. But I was very very happy to meet him. -- And for him to meet Dillon (again). Their dynamic was just heartwarming if not a bit unusual with their roles reversed to what you’d expect. Dillon, even twenty years younger than Mason, was the perfect and caring Daddy and what I loved the most was, that he could take and love Mason as the person he truly was and let him be himself where no one could manage that before. ♡

This is labeled a holiday romance and even though the story takes place around Christmas it doesn’t feel very merry and bright until the last third/quarter or so. But that’s okay. I can nonetheless very much recommend reading this book as a holiday treat.

I really, really enjoyed this wonderful Daddy/Boy Christmas story!

We have 48-year-old Mason, who is homeless and has been abused for years. He is beaten down by life, has low self-esteem, and feels like he doesn't deserve love or someone who cares for him. However, in Dillon, his 26-year-old former stepson, he finds someone who wants to love and care for him.

Goodness, this story was so sweet and more emotional than I anticipated. I just want to hug and protect Mason. He did not deserve the horrid things that had happened to him. However, I am so glad in Dillon, he finds the Daddy he needs. Someone who will take care of all his needs, give him a routine, and make sure he can live his authentic self. There is no age play, so that is a plus for me because as much as I do enjoy Daddy/Boy, I am not into it.

There is a flip of the usual dynamics in which we have a larger, older man as the boy with a younger Daddy. However, it works so well, and I love it! Dillion is mature and attentive to his boy's needs and is there to reassure and provide a safe space for Mason.

I would say it is low-angst despite the nature of the relationship and Mason’s past

This was a 5/5 on the spice scale! Gianni can write very steamy and filthy sex scenes, and this was no different. I loved it. Overall I enjoyed Dashing and Daddy, and I think this is definitely one of my favourite holiday reads of 2022! If you enjoy Gianni Holmes's work and are into sweet age-gap, hurt/comfort romance with Daddy Kink (older boy/younger Daddy), this is it.

Oh my goodness, the hurt comfort, just how I love it. The care from Daddy Dillon 😍, the innocence of the sweet big boy. I loved it all.

Mason, at forty-eight, is broke, homeless, cold, and hungry, he’ll do everything for some scrapings. Sadly some people take bodily advantage of his situation.
Winter is coming and the offer from his ex-wife to take one of the cabins in the woods is very welcome.
He’s been married to her for only three years and separated from her without taking anything with him, and she’s loaded tbh. Her son was very open about being against their marriage.

Dillon is twenty-six, a real estate mogul, taking some free time off in the woods at one of the cabins.
He’s surprised when he sees his mother’s ex-husband, all grubby. It seems he’s nothing he thought he was.

Mason is a big guy, compared to Dillon, who isn’t small. He could easily knock down a strong man, but that’s not Mason, he’s big, soft, and careful, and so, so lost, he needs directions and instructions.
Dillon, the pure Daddy he is, knows the moment he saw Mason, he wants to protect him, guide him, and give him everything he needs and more.

Watch them, it’s everything!

I couldn’t get enough of these men, the hurt comfort was so palpable, what Mason had been through ugh! Dillon is a possessive, protective and thoroughly Daddy, I loved him. There’s so much heartwarming care and sweetness, warm romance, and healing trust, just perfect for a Christmas holiday read!
I adored this wonderfully written read, it had everything I could wish for a Daddy/boy, age-gap story!

This book was phenomenal. 4.1 - 4.2⭐

I'm not into daddy/boy books, because most of times it's cringe in my opinion, boys are too young and the whole power dynamic is not working for me at all.

Well.

This book has all the things I would've wanted to read about in a daddy/boy story, but this particular dynamic is so rare, that I was pretty much blown away.

🔴 Kind of taboo - former stepson/stepdad
🟢 Age gap - 22 years
🟡 Daddy/boy dynamic to the max
🟣 Daddy is the younger MC, boy is older
🔵 Rags to riches
🌶️ Great spice

Wow, just let me begin by saying that this story is so life-like in terms of what happens intimately between two people.

The relationship between the MCs is so natural and organic that you can't help but be completely on their side and feel with them all the way until the end.
They were so real and authentic together.

Mason is a 48-year old homeless guy. He's a bit different, I believe he has symptoms of ADHD or mild autism, but that doesn't get adressed in the story itself, he's a very submissive guy by nature, a gentle giant.
He's tall, broad, muscled from hard labour and a very sensitive soul. He doesn't want to hurt anyone, so in the process he's hurting himself all the time. He has abusive relationships all the time, men that are using and abusing him, he's offering his body to those men for food and shelter.
It's heartbreaking, really.

He was married to his ex-wife for a few years, but since he's not very proactive, agressive and what the society considers to be very masculine, his marriage fell apart.

Dillon was Mason's stepson while Mason was married to his mother. He was in college while they were married and he didn't like Mason, because he thought he's only in it for the money.
Dillon is now a 26-year old real estate mogul, the family he's from is pretty rich and in his private life he's a daddy . He really likes that dynamic and has unsatisfying, but serious relationships all the time, trying to find that perfect boy, but most of his boyfriends are younger and in it for the money.

🟠 Dillon had a big crush on Mason when they were living together, but sadly that isn't explored enough in this book.

We find out in passing he had a crush and that's pretty much it. I wanted to read a little bit more about Dillon starting to feel those feelings for Mason and then re-living those feelings, maybe also a bit of pining going on , so that part of the story was missing and it would've provided a really good emotional foundation, if it were written down.

When Mason and Dillon finally meet after years of not seeing each other, Dillon immediately realizes Mason is in a terrible state, he's poor and homeless, he needs guidance and someone to take care of him.
Even though Mason tries to run away from it all, Dillon is persistent and eventually Dillon starts taking care of Mason in such a gentle, sensitive way that broke my heart, really .

We're talking about washing his body, getting him food, tucking him in at night, hell, even clipping his toenails, which is disgusting, I know! But the way Dillon did it, how he took care of Mason, was just everything. ❤️

What I absolutely liked in this book was exactly the younger daddy/older boy dynamic.
It was different.

At first it felt a bit weird when Mason was calling Dillon daddy, but the way he was right at home with Dillon, he was relaxing, starting to believe in love and just blossomed when he was taken care of. I really loved these two together, I tried to visually imagine every single thing they did together and considering Mason was not only 22 years older, but also taller and more muscled than Dillon, I mean, wow, that just did it for me, it was incredible to read about it .

🌶️ The spice was really, really good.

Not only was it descriptive and a lot of it, but what got to me was what Mason had to do sexually to survive - he had to have a lot of sex, most of the time sex he didn't want, he just let himself be abused and consequently, his cinnamon ring was very much stretched . 😜

Meaning... he was not as tight. All the books talking about a person being "tight, oh so tight", well, none of that was happening here. Mason didn't even have to be opened up basically, he was just ready pretty much all the time and he loved sex, despite of everything, even if he wasn't hard, even if he knew he couldn't come, he liked the intimacy and the connection, so that was pretty much amazing .

Even more amazing was how Dillon was in love with Mason's body. Older and abused, not tight, but he loved it.

"I reached behind him and grabbed his ass roughly. “Can’t it wait until after?” I ground my hard cock against his belly. “Feel that? Daddy wants in, big boy.”"

Yeah, Mason gets called a big boy a lot. 😏

It's a really beautiful story and I'd totally recommend it.
I've read two books from this author so far (Be mine, twisted Valentine and To not marry my enemy) and both were 5* books for me.

Why this book didn't make it that far is precisely because of that missing part of Dillon having a crush on Mason when he was actually his stepdad. I think if that part was included as somekind of prologue to this story, it would've been amazing.

Even so, I loved this book.

Childish and exaggerated, cartoonish characters and 0 literary value . Poor Mason, he was really really useless. I like older boys but he was so (they used scattered ) lazy. I mean, the guy prefers to be beaten, gang banged and used, eat from trash and sell his body than sell his art and paintings. “Oh, they are personal” Umm..what? Fuck off!
In conclusion, the guy needed a sugar daddy so he didn’t have to work.. Who doesn’t, dude? Who doesn’t?

There is just something about a vulnerable older guy that does it for me.

This was super cute and fluffy. Sure, a bit sad sometimes, but mostly just adorable.

And reading a Christmas book in the summer? That was something! 😅

Totally recommend this!!

Kink: Daddy kink

Dashing and Daddy by Gianni Holmes is a sweet, fluffy Christmas romance with daddy kink, hurt/comfort, and plenty of heat.

I came into this expecting more angst than I got - which was totally fine for me. We have an older Boy, Mason, who was Dillon's stepfather before his parents were divorced. Mason is someone who has always struggled in life, mainly with executive dysfunction and just wanting to focus on his art as a hobby versus a job. Ever since he divorced Dillon's mother, he was in and out of abusive relationships and being houseless. He meets Dillon years later when they are both up at these cabins, and a romance unfurls as Dillon realizes just how much Mason needs a guiding hand.

This is a more "instalove" romance but it worked for me. It was just so sweet, with so much caretaking, and any bumps in the road were discussed and smoothed over. From the emotional bathing to cuddles, it was all just so sweet. I think my favorite part is that Dillon was so confident in them being together. He had made up in his mind that he was 100% committed and had no problem with guiding Mason the way he needed to be and spoiling him in a way he had never been before. Even the awkwardness of their relationship to Dillon's mother was handled in a mature manner. And for those who like this, we even get a bit of those "touch him and I'll kill you" moments. Dillon is very protective.

The only issue I had is something I think is due to the fact that the author is not American so she is not aware of this. The Salvation Army is a Christian-run non-profit that has documented cases of leaving queer homeless people on the street and not willing to share their resources at all. So I would've changed the charity of choice being mentioned in the book.

Overall, I think this is a perfect Christmas romance - you get the warm feelings without too much emphasis on the holiday, a sweet daddy romance, and it's just like a hug. I highly recommend this book!

loved it

This is another amazing book from this author and I adored this story. Mason is just so heartbreaking and you can’t help but feel for him and his situation. Dillon is such a great daddy though and I love how he is so determined to look after Mason. I love the dynamic of the older and bigger boy and younger daddy as well.

This was a perfectly cute easy holiday read with a younger Daddy and an older boy who also happen to be former stepdad/stepson. It wasn’t particularly taboo but it was spicy with big hurt/comfort vibes and I enjoyed it. The epilogue was abrupt imo but I really loved Mason’s character and how the author handled homelessness and survival prostitution. Dillon is a dream Daddy 🥰

This had lots of aspects that I thought would really work for me ‘homelessness, likely undiagnosed ASD/ADHD, previous abusive relationship, hurt/comfort’ so I thought that I’d somewhat ignore the Daddy/Boy thing and would still love it. Surprisingly the Daddy/Boy kink (no age play) was not the deal breaker here it was more that the whole story was a bit too mushy sweet and the scenes that were darker didn’t have the impact that I would have liked. It took a more superficial approach to all the above problems than I was hoping for, I like a bit more grit and depth with those themes. Personally I found most of the scenes were more cringe than hot. Thinking this authors writing isn’t for me.

I would have loved someone to delve a bit deeper into why Mason was the way he is and if they could have helped him gain some more independence in caring for himself. What if something happened to Dillon?? He’d be back on the rubbish dump again. I also felt like Dillons feelings kind of came out nowhere and seemed unbelievable. I would have appreciated some build up here or getting a prologue into how Dillon saw Mason previously so that his sudden interest in him was more understandable.

Overall it was a sweet story, I wanted more realism but I guess with a name like Dashing and Daddy I should have known better.

Cw: talk of past domestic abuse, chronic homelessness, people being really mean ☹️

This book was so so so sweet. Almost too sweet. There was very little to no angst and while that isn't a problem, it just wasn't what I was in the mood for. I liked the characters. While we didn't see a lot of character growth or change it was nice to just see them interact with each other and right at the end we see Mason become more bold and dare I say just a bit bratty. I liked the concept of this book and while the writing was good, it just was, again, overly sweet.

While I couldn't fully enjoy this book because daddy kink isn't my thing, I'm glad I gave it a try. I liked the story. The fact that Mason was previously married to Dillon's mother was a nice twist. My heart broke for Mason at the beginning of the book because of the hardships he went through. I enjoyed seeing Dillon spoil him and help him gain his confidence back. Overall, this was a heartwarming read with a tiny bit of angst.

4 stars. Gianni Holmes really hits it on the mark. I loved her Taking Care series so when I saw that this was another Older Boy/Younger Daddy romance I immediately jumped into it and I’m so glad that I did. This was the right amount of emotional, sexy, and sweet. I adored it. Mason is such a gentle giant who has been hurt and abused by so many people that my heart ached for him. Dillion is his former step son who has always had feelings for him. Sold. They are both such lovable characters and their romance was beautiful. There’s no third act break up because Dillon did not let Mason get too overwhelmed or in his head and instead they talked things out which was great to see. Mason’s development was great and I can’t emphasis enough how sweet and kind and lovable that he is. Just the most precious bean and he deserved all of the great things. I can definitely see myself reading this one again.

Book given in exchange for review

There are trigger warnings, please read them if your sensitive to them.

Another great book from Gianni, this is a great hurt/comfort book, age gap, with daddy kink.

This book is about Mason and Dillon.
Mason was married a few years ago to a woman who tried to fix him and make him be someone he wasn’t so their marriage ended, in the divorce Mason took nothing, so he now finds himself down on his luck. He ends up at his ex wife house one night drunk and she offers up one of her cabins for him to stay in.

Mason has had it rough for the last few years and has found ways to get himself food and shelter by people taking advantage of him, it’s how he comes to bump into Dillon again after loosing his job at the local shop.

Dillon has done well for himself, he’s decided to go stay for a brake at his family cabin and happened’s to bump into his old crush, he sees how badly people are treating Mason and he just wants to take care of him like the good Daddy that he is.

This book was go good, I couldn’t put it down, Dillon is a perfect Daddy to Mason, he’s kind and gentle with him, gives him the time he needs to adjust to his new way of living, I love the care he showed him, the songs in the book killed me, but went so perfectly as it helped Mason understand that he was loved. The spice was on point I loved it!

This is a lovely Christmas read about a Daddy and his Boy.

ARC REVIEW

This book just managed to remind me that I don't have a hot younger-than-me Daddy who pampers me and takes all responsibilities from me and gives me a beautiful house and doesn’t want me to move a finger, thank you very much!

At older boy/younger daddy I was immediately sold.

Mason is a man who can't really take good care of himself, financially, phisically or emotionally. He had been married to Dillon's mum. Dillon is a young man who has been unlucky in love, not having found a partner who can appreciate the love and care he can bring to a relationship as a daddy. Dillon has always had a crush on Mason, and when he meets him again he has an immediate urge to help him and take care of him.

Mason's situation is heartbreaking and this is a hurt comfort story but the romance is low angst with no drama.
Just a sweet, hurt / comfort Christmas story.

Every time I read a daddy book I feel like daddies are just perfect creatures that I have to convince myself don't exist in reality because I just feel better that way. I don't think there can be a more perfect book boyfriend than Dillon.

Some good/Some bad

I’m on the fence with this one. While I love a good daddy/boy book, this did have certain over the top elements that I didn’t love.

What I loved: Dillon being the younger but more dominant one. It’s not a dynamic seen often and I loved it here.

Mason being open to being with Dillon even though their past was storied.

Dillon’s mom accepting that her son was having a relationship with her ex-husband.

What I didn’t love: the over the tip idea that Mason had fallen into so many terrible relationships and not a single one had been ok.

Shane miraculously finding Mason and showing up at Dillon’s door.

Dillon having some weird obligation to bring Robin to the mountains with him even after Robin broke up with him. Really? That whole storyline was unnecessary.

Overall, this was an okay read. Dillon and Mason worked well together and had great chemistry. I loved Dillon being a younger daddy and Mason was a fantastic boy. I liked this book, but there was nothing to tip me over into the love category for this book.

The good
+ Dillon taking excellent care of Mason
+ Mason learning that Dillon respects him exactly the way he is
+ Dillon letting Mason be his scatterbrained self without making him feel bad about it
+ The sweet caretaking
+ Emotional bathing and grooming
+ Dillon getting really protective everytime they're confronted with someone from Mason's past
+ Dillon forcing excellent communication
+ Mason becoming genuinely happy

The neutral
o The role of that Robin guy was a little lost on me. Dillon was the Daddy, but he let Robin call all the shots. It just didn't fit

The bad
- A more kinky sexual dynamic was teased (for example, the conversation about fisting and Mason saying he's willing to try almost anything). The actual sex scenes, though plenty, were rather tame in comparison
- The book ended a little too abruptly for my liking. The whole Alexander thing didn't feel like it was resolved, and Mason deserved an apology from his ex-wife about the way she treated his art. And some things were mentioned but never told, like Dillon wanting to take Mason with him to work events

Quotes
x I wasn't prime rib. Hell, I wasn't even salami.

I loved this book! It was so sweet. I wish it had been a little longer, because I wanted more happy and settled Mason. He deserved it. I'm a sucker for good communication and sweet caretaking, and this book had both in spades. Would definitely recommend.

Dashing & Daddy was a wonderful Christmas story, and I loved every moment!

The hurt / comfort was perfectly written and I absolutely loved the way Dillon cared for Mason. I didn’t expect it to be quite as emotional as it was, Mason had been through a lot - my heart broke entirely for his situation and past. I couldn’t help but feel for him and I hated how everyone took advantage of him. Dillon was great with him and I adored them right away.

Even though Mason’s been through a lot, the story was mostly a hopeful, heartwarming and steamy read. I loved seeing Dillon as a Daddy, he was so protective and possessive of Mason and I was there for it! Their dynamic was so wholesome and special.

Despite the taboo nature of the story it never felt particularly angsty, which I appreciated. Honestly, it was just the sweetest read that hit me right in the feels, and I didn’t want to put the book down.

If you’re a fan of daddy / boy dynamics and looking for a Christmas story you simply have to read this one!

This was my first book my Gianni Holmes and it WILL NOT be my last. I adored this couple so much and my heart absolutely broke for Mason. This books was so sweet and emotional. It was also my first younger daddy/older boy and I enjoyed it so much. Dillion was such a great character, charming, caring and compassionate and it was just what our sweet Mason who has been through absolute hell needed. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the ex stepfather situation but I LOVED IT. I cannot wait to dive into more of Gianni's books.

Dillon used to be Mason's stepson. Mason had always been overwhelmed by everything and now is down on his luck. Dillon hurts to see him that way and steps in to take care of him, but he wants a Daddy/Boy situation only with Dillon as Daddy. Mason seemed like such a vulnerable, simple man and Dillon obviously loved taking charge. With Dillon's Mom in the mix, it gets complicated. This book gave me the good feelies as there is someone for everyone. It was filled with steamy good times and made me want a Daddy, too! This book is a Christmas gift tat just kept on giving. I love and absorb all of Gianni's books. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

Fun reverse daddy boy kink

Enjoyed that Gianni flipped the dynamics and made the older man the boy and the younger man the daddy. Mason is such a sweet soul who just needs direction to thrive & Dillon does that for him and more. You feel the connection immediately and are happy to see the ex take the high ground and just want these two to be happy. It's not often this dynamic works this well with all parties, and I'm happy to see it did in this case. Good overall read.

Dashing & Daddy by Gianni Holmes is about Dillon and Mason. Mason is down on his luck again. Thankfully his ex wife lets him stay in one of her cabins so at least he has a roof over his head. It's a surprise when her son shows up in the second cabin.

I loved their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written.
