A Little Christmas: Zahair

Rate this book
Who fires someone for playing Christmas songs at the office?

My sexy, broody ass of a boss that’s who.

I should have listened when they told me my boss is a Scrooge.

That he hates Christmas and wants the office devoid of holiday cheer.

Instead, I fantasized about him as the caregiver I’ve always wanted.

Of him bringing back the meaning of Christmas to my life.

Who knew the way he looks at me is worth as much as a partridge in a pear tree?

One tiny mistake and I’m standing on the curb with a box filled with my crushed heart, a fake tabletop Christmas tree, and the miserable truth that I’ll be homeless for sure.

When an accident brings us together two weeks later, the care he shows me leaves me confused. How can I trust him again when the reason I’ve been living on the streets is all because of him?

A Little Christmas: Zahair is an MM Daddy/Little Christmas twist on the Little Princess Classic. Each age play romance book can be read as a standalone.

I’m gonna quit this series now. Even though my love for ageplay could go beyond belief, this series is just not it. Too bland and never enough depth on the kink.

Back to the book. In simple word, it was boring.

I was actually annoyed by Zahair and his stubbornness and stupidity. He was a clumsy staff and expect his soft hearted boss to deal with his clumsiness. Maybe just me but I found nothing cute or hot about that especially when all he did were stupid mistakes like breaking office’s protocols and crossing his boss’ boundaries. Then he chose to cry like a son of a bitch when he got fired. LOL so fking dumb fiction or not.

After reading the whole book, I came to conclusion that he was made to be a brat. And never have I ever read a brat boy that pissed me off so much. Ehhhh hate this.

People would say this is sensitive, but authors should STOP WRITING about suicide, sexual assault and rape as a plot device IF you’re not gonna go into depth about it. I don’t care if it’s a short book. Such sensitive topic shouldn’t be told in a careless manner in any way. It’s dehumanising and disrespectful. Quit it or go ahead and describe the PTSD in detail.

“Killed himself. I was fourteen at the time.” Then decide to change the topic afterwards :/

Otherwise, I couldn’t see their connection at all it was either so fast or lack of depth and no in between. If you’re looking forward to the age play, don’t. There weren’t any age play elements until like 75% of it. And it was more like a switch than development. It was a fast read for sure, but nothing pleasant about this.

This was a cute Christmas Daddy/Little Christmas novella. While I’m not a fan of little/age-play, I decided to push my boundaries a bit. So this novella is officially the 3rd book with age play I read.

This was a cute, fast-paced boss/employee-to-lovers story. We have Zahir, who is 22, working in the copy room. He gets caught by his Boss - Brody - photocopying some body parts as part of a dare. Brody has had his eye on Zahir since he started and due to a massive miscommunication almost ruins his chance with him. However, things soon work out for them both.

Since the story is so short, there is not much room to flesh out the characters, and the relationship moves at a lightning-fast pace. So it is hard to connect with the characters and feel like their relationship is genuine. Overall it was enjoyable and interesting to see Daddy/Little dynamic.

If you enjoy Gianni Holmes stories and want a cute, fast-paced Daddy/Little (sexual age play) Christmas read with an interracial couple, this is it.

This book is part of a Multi-Author series called A Little Christmas but Each age play romance book can be read as a standalone.

So this CEO just decides to fire his employee so he can date him without their jobs getting in the way, only he doesn't tell the employee about his plan.

The now ex-employee ends up homeless.

Days later, the CEO hits the ex-employee with his car, and then takes him home despite the boy's verbal protests. The boy absolutely hates the CEO, for good reason, but the CEO guy doesn't care.

He kisses the boy instead. Without consent. While the boy hates him. And after he kidnapped the boy away from his car, knowing he couldn't get back on his own. And the boy's injured because the CEO hit him with his car.

I'll accept ridiculous and unrealistic scenarios in books, no problem. But this scenario is wrong on so many levels that I just can't ignore the casual sexual assault.

(Also, the Big Miscommunication got solved on the next page, so the whole consent issue could have been avoided by just moving the kiss one page forward.)

I had a lot of fun with this one. Zahair was adorable; he was sweet but with enough backbone to give him a personality. Brody was endearing, but also a bit ridiculous. He makes an entire life plan for himself and Zahair without even consulting him, and it leads to unnecessary drama. Said drama was amusing in its own way though. Plus Zahair basically wants the same things as Brody anyway so it works out. I wish more time had been spent from Zahair's point of view while he was a Little, as the transition into that headspace felt abrupt at times. While I wouldn't necessarily say this was anything overly original, I still enjoyed my time reading it.

A Little Christmas: Zahair by Gianni Holmes is part of the A Little Christmas series by multiple authors. This story is about Zahair and Brody. Zahair works for Brody's company but gets fired right before Christmas. Brody looks for Zahair but can't find him until he literally runs into him.....

I loved their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written.

3/5. Highlights may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Content Warnings for book: Homelessness, sexual assault, reference to parental death

Kink: Daddy kink, sexual age play

A Little Christmas: Zahair is a short Christmas romance featuring daddy kink and age play, with a boss/ex-employee pairing.

The parts I enjoyed about this book is how once these two got together, they were quite sweet. The sex scenes were well written, and I enjoyed the aspect of sexual ageplay because I find that rarer in books like these. The Christmas element wasn't overdone, which is a good for a reader like me who isn't too into the holiday myself.

However, parts of this didn't work for me. Quite frankly, the book was either too short or the pacing was off. I know this is instalove and that aspect doesn't bother me, but the fallout of what Brody does to Zahair is so much, I'm not sure I could forgive him and move in immediately. I'm not sure why Brody couldn't have simply said he wanted to date - it was a big miscommunication with huge ramifications that is quite traumatic. There was a little bit of pushing back from Zahair, but I don't know. It just didn't work for me.

Another aspect is the characters didn't feel too in-depth. Again, I know it is more of a fluffy novella, but I didn't connect to them too easily. I also didn't like how forgiving Zahair was of his friend. That was totally unacceptable. Yet oddly, I would love to read a boot with his best friend too for the hurt/comfort potential.

Part of me thinks maybe Holmes was rushed to finish this, and that happens. She is still one of my favorite authors so while this wasn't my favorite, I am looking forward to whatever she releases next!

4.5 stars. Yes, I loved this Christmas story!
With hurt comfort, sweetness, and caring, a brat and a Scrooge of a boss.

Zahair got fired by his boss and is now also homeless.
Brody Gilchrist is anxious when he can’t find Zahair after he fired him.
He should have told him the reason, and now it’s too late.
Or? Until they accidentally meet again, Zahair is hurt and Brody does everything to make up.

The first impression is always the right one. Zahair and Brody felt an instant attraction.
Now finally together they can explore their Daddy/boy/little kink.
A very sexy one to set eyes on!

Such a lovely Christmas read, with wonderful characters, there’s more going on in both lives than I can tell, but it’s all entertaining! There are some delicious Daddy/little scenes.
There's a nice dose of hurt comfort, humor, fun, sexiness and last but not least a Christmas spirit!
This author has a wonderful writing style, nicely constructed, solid, and always captivating.

A Little Christmas Zahair is part of the multi author A Little Christmas. Freakin loved Zahair and Brody. Brody is a grinch of sorts, who doesn’t like Christmas? Zahair is caught photocopying his bum by the boss, first strike. He gets a couple more strikes and is fired. Brody is fascinated by Zahair, but he has a policy of no fraternization, so he fires him. Poor Zahair is down on his luck and ends up living in his car when Brody finally finds him. Super cute story with a sassy and mischievous little and patient Daddy. Sweet and smexy! Overall, loved it! Well written with fast pacing.

This was an adorable and fast paced story.

Zahair was so cute. I mean, he was cute when he wasn’t in Little mode, mischievous and sassy. But add in Little mode and he was out of this world adorable. I loved him so much.

Brody took me a minute. I didn’t understand his thought process. And while it was still a little convoluted even after I understood it, he made me shake my head a time or two. But he was such a loving Daddy. He was attentive and he spoiled Zahair so much. I loved how encouraging he was with Zee and he never made Zee feel bad for his wants and needs.

This was a fun little Christmas read that had some spice but a whole lot of love packed inside. It was perfect to ease into the Christmas spirit.

This is a really mixed bag for me as I loved parts of it but other parts just didn’t click for me.

I loved how caring Brody was but hated how quickly Zahair forgave him. On the whole however this was a sweet story and I did enjoy it.

This was a difficult one for me to rate. On the one hand, I adore Gianni and the Daddies that she writes. On the other, there was little character development due to the length of the book and the romance moved at lightning speed.

My biggest issue was the relationship between Brody and Zee. I just didn't feel it. There was something missing. Perhaps if it was a longer story and the relationship had time to grow and develop it would have been different. Since this was a novella, there wasn't that build-up so it just felt forced. What Brody did to Zahair (aka Zee) at the beginning of the story went too far for me. It would have been really hard to forgive someone firing me and basically making me homeless. Brody wasn't even really sure that Zee was interested in him.

I did feel really bad for Zahair's friend Elliot when he kicked Zee out of the house making him homeless a second time. He was just so downtrodden it was hard to be mad at him. I would love to see a short story with him finding someone who really cared about him.

3 stars. This felt very rushed. I also wasn't a big fan of Brody. He did Zahair so dirty in the beginning and that kinda tainted their romance for me. The sex scenes were hot as hell though can't even front. Zahair was the cutest. I really liked his character and just wanted to hug him. Life just kept kicking him down and yet he was so optimistic. He was the best part of this book. While this wasn't a favorite of mine by Holmes it wasn't terrible and it was a really quick read.

Zahair is a little bratty and Brody is broody. Together they bring out the best in each other. 3.5 on this one. Brody definitely went about things all wrong when it came to his solutions for trying to date Zahair. Zahair pushed boundaries as an employee and as a little.

A Little Christmas! Zahair by Gianni Holmes is part of the A Little Christmas series by various authors. Zahair was an orphan who was brought up in a children’s home. He had aged out but still lived there and helped with the children while working. His jobs hadn’t been great but then he found one in the copy room of Sterling Capital that he liked and paid him well. However, he did something stupid on a dare and was found by Mr. Brody Gilchrist, the CEO. He expected to be fired because Mr. Gilchrist didn’t take any nonsense but he wasn’t. He felt an attraction to the man and started daydreaming about him. Meanwhile, Brody also felt something toward Zahair that he hadn’t felt toward anyone in several years. However, he couldn’t act on it because there was a strict rule that there could be no interoffice dating among workers in the company. So he hatched a scheme to fire Zahair the next time he did something against company rules so he could date him. This happened but it backfired because when Zahair left, Brody couldn’t find him to explain because he left the children’s home and he wasn’t answering his phone. Zahair was almost destitute because he wasn’t working and Brody was frantic to find him, which he finally did in an interesting turn of events. This led Zahair to going home with him and their relationship begins, even though Zahair is very mad at him for firing him. The story goes on as they get to know each other and when Zahair opens a door and finds the room is set up for a Little Boy he is thrilled because that is what he is. He has never had a Daddy but is excited that Brody is one and wants him for his Boy. The rest of the book includes some hot love scenes as well as play scenes and since it is Christmas they both find just what they want in each other. I really enjoyed this novella. The characters were interesting and the angst felt real for Zahair as he was trying to find his way after being fired. Brody turned out to be surprisingly caring and that was just what Zahair needed after what life had given him. I also really liked the epilogue because it told about the couple 2 years later and what happened to the children’s home where Zahair was raised. Ms. Holmes is one of my favorite authors and writes great Daddy/Boy books and this one doesn’t disappoint. I highly recommend it and that you add it to your Christmas reading list.

Brody and Zahair's Christmas romance was short, sweet, and full of Daddy/little playtime. I could tell the two of them were attracted to each other immediately, but the power dynamic of their work relationship made it impossible for them to pursue each other. I didn't fully agree with the way Brody chose to court Zahair initially, but he made up for it by being so caring and protective over Zee once he finally found him and took him home. Zee was the brightest, most sunshine-y boy with a heart of gold, and I was very happy to see him find his forever partner in Brody. The two of them had natural chemistry together, and the way they fell into their Daddy/little boy roles with ease showed me how much trust they had in one another. While I did get to enjoy a few spicy moments and multiple sweet interludes, I wish there had been more depth to their story--romance and overall. I wanted to see more of the changes Brody made to his company and get a firsthand account of what happened to the boys' home Zahair used to live in, and at the same time I wanted more, more, more of Zee and Daddy's playtimes and steamier moments. I loved this story for what it was, don't get me wrong, I just also would have loved to see even more of this couple's life together after the Christmas season.

This is my second book by Holmes and it is well written for it to be so short. I did enjoy it, but I think it could have done with another few chapters to flesh out Brody and Zahair’s reconnection. While I know novellas are usually instalove(which I love), the build up of his wrongdoings didn’t really pan out for me. Brody apologized and they move in together. Zahair is homeless, so I can see why they moved so fast, but it took me out of the story a bit. I mean, he hit him with a car! I need groveling!

I don’t know how I feel about characters being brought up and not really closing those loops. Zahair’s friend is mentioned, who kicked him out, but after that, no more. I like a sense of finality with characters, no matter how briefly they’re mentioned, to have their loops closed, for lack of a better term.

Other than that, I enjoyed it. Not a big fan of age play, but that’s my thing and I didn’t lower my rating for that. I knew going in what it was, and I still read it. Not the authors fault. It was well written enough that I was able to push past that part and still enjoy the story.

This one won’t be a reread for me, but that’s only because I don’t like age play. I’ll have to check out Holmes’s backlist, as she has a very easy writing style that I find relaxing.

“Don’t bother. I’m okay. It’ll take more than that to knock me down, Brody Gilchrist!” He struggled to sit up and scowled at me. “Well, you know exactly what I mean.” ~ Zahair Gooden
Brody ~ Daddy, Boss that everyone fears, hates Christmas.
Zahair ~ Boy, Sassy and confident, adores Christmas.
Brody and Zahair were a trip. I felt half dazed sometimes reading this story like... "What the" and "Why would he do that". Brody was such a doorknob in the beginning. He drove me crazy with his attitude and antics. Zahair was so silly, sassy and cute that I hated the stuff he went through. Then when they finally did get together I wanted Zahair to demand that Brody grovel and make it up to him. Did that happen? Kind of, but not really. This was a quick, cute and easy read. The issue I have with shorts though is that you do miss out on the longer moments of a story that maybe should have been there to make it feel complete. For example, the grovelling situation. Maybe if this was a longer book then the author would have dragged it out more and made it more satisfying whereas it probably went the way it did because there is so much info to cram into a short. I would recommend this though, especially for those who love the almost homeless and saved by Daddy tropes.

Story: 3.5 Stars. I enjoyed the Daddy/little dynamic overall, steamy times, Christmassy goodness, Zahair (22) as a character (he's sweet and exuberant), and the pre-relationship encounters between him and Brody. I also hope Zahair's friend Elliot dumps his miserable boyfriend as part of his own (full-length) HEA story to come.

I disliked everything about the manner in which they got together, from Brody firing Zahair in order to pursue a relationship (apparently he just assumed Zahair would be willing, there was no discussion prior), the sh¡tty termination letter (good luck getting a decent job after that), and everything Zahair had to endure in the aftermath before they couple up.

Brody takes too little responsibility for his actions (particularly for someone calling himself a Daddy), and Zahair was far too forgiving too quickly for me to root for them as a couple.

I typically love this author's Daddy/boy books, particularly because of the depth and complexity of the characters, and I think maybe the shortness of this story was a hindrance to that strength. I received an advance reading e-copy of this book and have left this honest review voluntarily.

It was very sweet even though far from perfect:
- there’s not much description of Zahair so without the cover we wouldn’t know what he looks like
- Until we see the room there’s no mention of him being a Little so that felt out of the blue. Which also means it’s super weird that Brody prepared the room for him without even saying that he thought he might be a little…
- I’m so confused by the fact that Brody organised an office Christmas party on Christmas Day? They’re celebrating at home and he says something “oh I can’t believe I’m throwing an office party tonight” Well I can’t believe it either since it’s a public holiday and his employees should be home with their families 😂

As always with those short Christmas novels I wish they were a bit longer so we could have more time of the MC together as a couple

Overall it made for a nice morning read

CW: it includes some sexy time while Z is in his little headspace. I’m not a fan of those and I guess I’m not the only one so I thought a CW could help potential readers make up their mind

This book was a sweet romance and Zahair was adorable from start to finish. He was such a cute mix of sassy, sweet and mischievous - whether he was in little mode or not! Brody was a bit unpredictable for me at the start. I had a preconceived idea of how things might go based on the blurb (which I was 100% wrong about) but it took me a little while to understand the way he went about things when firing poor Zahair. I was a bit like Zahair, on tenterhooks waiting for the other shoe to drop and when it did I was left a bit puzzled about what his plan had actually been. However, Brody more than made up for his behaviour in the rest of the story by being so attentive and loving. The pair had great chemistry and there were some steamy moments throughout as well as romantic ones. I like the HEA too. Overall, a great short story with two well-matched characters. If you like this genre then I'd recommend trying this Christmas book.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Zahair had had a hard life growing up in a children's home. He's an adult now and works for Sterling Capital, in the copy room. His first intraduction to the big boss, Brody Gilchrist, was when his friend talked him into mooning for the copy machine and Mr. Gilchrist walked on him. Expecting to get fired, he was very surprised that he still was employed.
This is a story about about two men from opposite sides of the financial spectrum. Zahair is one paycheck away from being homeless and Brody rescued the family company from ruin. Zahair gets himself in all kinds of situations while having a crush on his boss. Brody is trying to figure out the attraction he has for Zahair. He knows relationships between coworkers is against company rules. Brody has a plan.
Can they navigate through all the problems and see their way to make things work? I'm not a fan of insta-love. This story was well written and just in time for Christmas.

Zahair was warned that his sexy and broody boss was a Scrooge and that he hated Christmas and so when he played some Christmas songs in the office he was fired. He finds himself standing outside with a fake tabletop Christmas tree and the prospect of being homeless. Then an accident brings them face-to-face two weeks later he is confused as his boss cares for him. The question is can he trust him after he was having to live on the streets due to his actions?

I liked this story with the miserable boss who hates Christmas, the cheerful Little who loved Christmas and how after a rocky start they ended up together. I loved the way that the secretary saw it coming and had called it before the boss had admitted it to himself. Easy to read and understand. There is mature MM content in this BSDM like DDLB type story. This novella is part of the A Little Christmas series where the stories are all stand-alone and can be read in any order.

This is a very sweet story, it's up there with the Hallmark movies, with their over the top plot and unbelievable coincidences. Just what most want for Christmas, sweet, easy and a little kinky fun.

Zahair is all Christmas cheer, caring deeply for the kids he live with, loving to brighten up someone's day and thinking the best of everyone. Even when he is angry he can't help but compliment while raging at them.

Brody is one of those stupid smart men. Being smart but doing stupid things, like firing someone to be able to date them. A lawsuit waiting to happen. Only it's Christmas and Zahair is a saint, letting his boss get no consequence for his action and all of the benefits.

There is heartfelt moments, well written steam and a bit of a laugh. It should have been a bit longer but it works for what it is.

From the beginning of Gianni's books, even the shorter ones, you are immersed in a cohesive story that puts you right there. Her books are not just words but contain real complete people. Zahair and Brody have lots of angst but intense feelings from the start as Brody catches Zahair doing a dare on company property. There is a lot packed into this novella, but I avidly read it without stopping, it is so good. I always wish the book were longer, want to keep reading, wish for another just because I love her books and enjoy them so much. As this is a Christmas novella, you have to suspend some reality to accept the speed of the actions, Daddy/Boy explanation and acceptance from both guys even though headings indicate time lapse. It is also hard to agree with Brody's thinking on how to handle his attraction to Zahair. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion. 4.5 Stars

Like another review pointed out, I think because this was novella-length that the pacing seemed a bit off for me. Everything moved on too fast, and some scenes or chapters felt like jumping around instead of flowing smoothly into the next.

I unfortunately also do not like Zahair's character. Personally, just the type of naive, innocent, eff-the-consequences type of character that I don't like reading about.

The smuts scenes were hot, and I wish there was more time spent exploring their well-matched-up kinks like suckling. That office scene at the end was hottttt, and if this ever gets expanded, I'd like there to be more scenes like that, WOW.

This is a cute, sweet, steamy, and funny story, all perfectly balanced out. It may be short but it does not feel incomplete or rushed. The characters are fully developed and packed with many emotions. I only wish it was longer cause I'm greedy and always want more of this author's stories, lol. They suck you in, sinking its claws, and never let go.
Zahair is so cute, sweet, and full of sunshine. Life may not have been nice to him but that doesn't stop him from having a loving and caring heart. Brody is reserved and rigid at the beginning but his personality begins to blossom as the story progresses, showing his vulnerable side. Brody and Zahair do hit some minor bumps (low angst) in the road their HEA but this loveable Daddy and sweet boy do get there.

A Little Christmas: Zahair was a true delight to read! Zahair "Zee" works for Brody and they're both secretly crushing on each other, but Brody is a strick no nonsense boss and for reasons he fires Zee. From there begins they're journey to their HEA. I loved them and their Little time, Brody and Zee were so sweet and sexy together. I could have read more of them for sure. They were such great characters, especially Zee, genuinely a good person. I really enjoyed this book, left me with a happy feeling on the inside and a smile on my face. It's a fun, fast, festive, perfect Holiday story, def recommend!

This was a very short Holiday novella in the Little Christmas series. If you don't like smexy times in your age play stories, or serious instalove, this isn't the story for you. Zahair is such a sweet, and well developed character, while I felt like we could have used more time to get to know Brody. How he treated Zee to keep his "honor" above board was a little drastic in my opinion. A simple conversation before acting out his plans would have saved quite a bit of heartache for both men. I really like this series, and this fit in. I would have loved a few more chapters for the relationship development before the epilogue, which was sugar sweet.

Daddy Grinch! 🎄🎁🎄🎅

This is a fast and very sweet age play read. Zahair is a little who works in a copy room. Brody is a daddy and owns the business Zahair works for. Zahair loves Christmas so much he wears festive clothing and even decorates his desk. Brody is a Grinch and hates Christmas so much that he doesn't allow decorations in his building. He sees Zahair and fires him but he doesn't really fire him because of Christmas he fires him because he can't date employees. He goes to Brody's after some insistence, becomes his boy and never leaves. A sweet epilogue wraps everything up.

A wonderful holiday story!

This book is amazing! Zahair and Brody get their happy ending after one bumpy ride! It starts off with Zahair working at Brody’s company and getting caught doing something he definitely shouldn’t have at work. After another mishap or two, Zahair finds himself jobless but not for the reasons he thinks. I love how their relationship develops and the joy they find together once they finally get the chance to do so. Brody’s secretary is a hoot and adds to this wonderful story that is a definite must read!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
