His skills and ruthlessness made him a legend.

The dark, dangerous former spy.

Now the operative turned billionaire known as Steel collides with fiery agent Hellfire when they discover they’re both on the kill list of a deadly assassin.

CIA agent Devyn “Hellfire” Hayden came from nothing and made herself into one of the CIA’s best deep-cover agents. She’s dedicated to her country. She’s always on the move. She’s a loner. Just the way she likes it. Letting people close is a weakness and she’ll never be weak again.

But when she finds herself under attack by an assassin targeting the world’s best intelligence agents, it sends her straight into the path of the only man who tempts her. The dark, lethal Killian “Steel” Hawke.

Killian Hawke rose through the ranks of the CIA, and knows his name is whispered in fear by his enemies. But when his sister needed him, he left and started Sentinel Security. He protects all those he considers his: his sister, his friends, his employees, and his clients.

But there is one stubborn redhead he also wants to claim.

As Devyn and Killian work together to unmask the assassin hunting them, they are forced to confront their white-hot attraction and their violent need to protect each other. Killian is tired of dancing around what he feels for her. Now that she’s in danger, he’ll do whatever it takes to make her safe, claim her heart, and possess her soul.

*** An action-packed standalone romantic suspense.

Another series from Anna Hackett shaping up to be one of her best, and certainly one of her most fun. This installment, the fourth, features the same team and found family vibes, with a badass main couple who like to get down and dirty after any action scene.

It’s formulaic and fun; it’s almost a comfort to know what to expect here, so you can just let go and enjoy the ride.

The sexual tension between the MCs was so palpable, it was no wonder they could barely keep their hands off each other, and for both, action and danger were serious aphrodisiacs. They were each badass on their own, but became a definite power couple together.

Not sure how medically accurate this is, but while the FMC was trapped under water the MMC kept diving down to give her air from his lungs while he found a way to rescue her. They had each other’s backs, and the story made it so effortlessly clear how well they work as a team, both romantically and professionally.

The ending of this book sets up the next main couple for next book with a trope I’m usually not 100% a fan of (secret baby from a ONS) so I’m really interested to see Anna Hackett’s take on it!

I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed there wasn't more tension between Killian and Devyn after getting the hints about them in previous books. And especially since in the beginning of their story there was a little bit of a push-pull type of thing going on between them but then it went away and it felt like their relationship got very easy after that.

I still really enjoyed getting to see them together and the added suspense was done well and had me captivated. So overall I did like this book and I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from the series.

Hoo-boy! The man who keeps all the other SS employees in line is on a hit list and I don't think he minds too much seeing as how the woman who keeps him guessing is also on it. I mean, I'm sure he doesn't love being on a hit list, but spending time with the lady who keeps up with him and is prepared for almost anything isn't a hardship.

Steel and Hellfire! Killian is in league with Vander with his scary focus and quick action. Devyn is big on relying only on herself and has a hard time leaning on others even when they're as scarily competent as the Sentinel team. But with Killian (and others) in the crosshairs, she steps up and joins forces with Killian. She also makes a friend with the (thus far) grumpiest team member at SS and I kind of like the idea of fiery Devyn and grumpy Bram being BFFs. Heh.

Given the scope of trying to track down who's put the hit out on them, they end up in SF with a few members of Norcross (and a meet-up with Killian's sister). I always dig seeing familiar faces pop up, so that was fun!

An explosion or two, a dynamic duo that takes out bad guys with ease, a harrowing encounter that cemented Devyn and Bram's BFF-ness, and a whole lot of steam between Steel and Hellfire. To be fair, these two have been dancing around one another for a while, so the steam levels were expected. *thumbs up*

Four and a half
Wow this is a fast paced, exciting ride that hardly pauses to let the reader breathe ! I love these sexy, scary guys that Ms Hackett gives us and when paired with a woman who can not only hold her own but even match their skills it’s always a wild trip. I think Killian was always destined to be a hot favourite amongst fans of this series but his own personal “Hellfire” certainly helped him light up the pages .
This time we get two strong, capable protagonists hunting the assassin who is determined to kill both of them ! It’s truly non stop and actually read as if I was watching a Mission Impossible movie with one notable exception and that is the this couple no Matt what find numerous occasions to tease and ahem please each other . My only niggle is that everyone seems to have a nickname which I understand often happens in law enforcement or the military but I just found it irritating that every character introduced had to include both actual and made up names. I think if you already enjoy this authors work then this latest steamy story will definitely have you joyfully turning the pages and ignoring the world around you !
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Quick(ish) Review

This was fine, fits the formula, but I thought I’d be sucked into the story more than I was. FMC and MMC are being hunted, both are who struggle to be vulnerable, good action with sexy times at potentially inappropriate times but who cares, still fun. Just wanted a little more but I’m still interested in the next one.

I was super excited to read Killians' book, I had the same anticipation as I did when I was looking forward to Vander Norcrosses' book, but unfortunately for me, this one missed the mark slightly.

Where as Vanders' book was everything I wanted, and more Killians book fell a little flat for me. There was less action than I come to expect from these books and a lot more focus on the sexual scenes, which I'll admit after a while got boring.

The characters and storyline are good, but I felt like it didn't do Killian or Devyn justice from who they are in previous books.
Also, the ending to marriage felt incredibly rushed to me.

All on all, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it as part of the series but wouldn't be in a rush to re-read it personally.

Lovers of the Sentinel Security series have been teased with the inevitability of this story from the very beginning of the series, every bit as much as Killian “Steel” Hawke and Devyn “Hellfire” Hayden have been teasing each other from the first time they met. Back in the day when they were both among the CIA’s best agents.

But when they first laid eyes on each other, Hellfire was an agent on the rise, and Steel was all too aware that he was on the edge of burnout and that his days with the agency were numbered. He didn’t need the temptation, and she couldn’t afford the distraction. Or the other way around. Or both.

Definitely both.

So he turned away and went on his way, out of the CIA and into building his own top-flight, high-end, security business, Sentinel Security. While she continued her rise through the ranks of the CIA to become the best of the best – just as he once was. And still very much is, just in a slightly different and frequently adjacent sphere.

Every time they’ve run into each other – occasionally just about literally – since the Sentinel Security series began, they’ve drawn the kind of sparks off of each other that were bound to lead to one hell of a fire.

If they can just get out of their own ways. As long as they can get themselves out of the sights of an assassin who only thinks he can claim to be the best by taking down the best.

He thinks he can prove he’s in their league. Hellfire and Steel are about to show him just how much he’s not.

Escape Rating A-: First and foremost, I adore this author and her work and am always thrilled to have a new story in whichever series she happens to be working on.

Second, I always love the romance that features the leader of whatever group that series happens to be featuring, so I’ve been waiting for Killian’s story since the series began. (I’m just grateful I didn’t have to bite my nails through quite as many stories as in some of her previous series.)

Third, while I was always intending to read Steel this week I had one book absolutely disappointingly fail, so I was both thrilled and grateful to pick up Steel and dive right in. I knew I would enjoy it, but it turned out to be the perfect book at the perfect time.

Just as Killian Hawke turned out to be, not the perfect man but the perfect man for Hayden. Someone she could trust to have her back in a firefight, who would pull her up when she needed it instead of beating her down when she was already there. Someone who loved her and appreciated her for the kickass woman she was instead of trying to make her be less than in any way, shape or form.

Because she’s perfect for him just as she is. If she was anything less or anything different, she wouldn’t be the woman, the person he needed at his side.

But it isn’t ever going to be easy – and neither is this operation. Someone has a list of the top agents for every spy agency around the world and is planning to assassinate the “Top Ten” on the list. A list that Hellfire and Steel are both on.

The assassin has already eliminated two of their colleagues, had a go at a third, and now they are next. Which means that they are following the trail of their would-be assassin while he’s trying to pull them into his trap. The stakes are the highest, the tension is off the charts and the pages are turning as fast as the reader can flip them.

It’s a race to the finish; either his – or theirs. But together they can conquer anything. Even each other’s doubts, fears and demons. It’s a wild ride from beginning to end. Yet another terrific action adventure romance from an equally terrific author.

As always, I’m already looking forward to her next book, Knightmaster, the first in the Oronis Knights series. I’m always up for good science fiction romance and I know that’s just what I’ll get in March. And Sentinel Security will be back in April, and I’m sure it will be another pulse-pounding romantic adventure!

Oh, this is good. Devyn and Killian have danced around each other a bit already, so I knew that they’d have quite the adventure finding their happiness together. There are a few surprises along the way, too. Some you’d almost expect. Others you really didn’t think possible. All of them just add to the story of Devyn, Killian, and how they get to forever.

We start with a bang. Literally. And it just doesn’t slow down from there. Someone wants to make a name and reputation for themselves, but who? Every clue leads to the next one up the chain and finding the who, the why, and the where the heck is this person frustrates everyone. Killian, Devyn, his team, even the Norcross guys are all involved this time. Along the way, Bram and Devyn become BFFs, Shade is nowhere to be found, and the danger is increasing. As long as Devyn and Killian make it through this alive, though, it’s clear to me that they can make it through anything together. Including a relationship that one keeps denying they want.

The unlikely friendships and humor at unexpected times help keep this from being too doom and gloom once in a while, and the teasing of a few potential stories ahead have me hoping to get more of this team soon!

'He's deadly, organised, precise and.....deadly'

Killian protects what's his and whether she knows it or not Devyn is his and he will stop at nothing to eliminate those that threaten her.
Sizzling hot! Hellfire and Steel are both deadly but together, together they are sexy, determined, dark, sneaky, under threat and...unbeatable. I love Killian and Devyn together, they are both protectors, loners and just a little bit broken, they understand each other in away nobody else can and it is beautiful. I love that we get a crossover with Norcross too - bonus!
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

4.5 Star Review Steel (Sentinel Security #4) by Anna Hackett
Anna Hackett is a relatively new author to me but what I have read I have enjoyed. From the first chapter I was hooked on the story that Ms. Hackett wove.
This is a fast paced story with romance. heat and suspense, which was well written. There were moments that I was on the edge of my seat whilst reading as I was drawn into CIA agent Devyn “Hellfire” Hayden and Killian “Steel” Hawke’s story.
There were a number of twists and turns throughout this story. As the danger increases it was entertaining to watch the push and pull dynamic of their relationship. The camaraderie between the team members added an additional layer to the story.

I absolutely love Devyn & Killian’s chemistry!! Both have targets painted on their back, can they figure out who is after them or will one or both of them be ended? I loved this book. I don’t read much paranormal anymore but I still love to and this book does not disappoint!

This entire series is gold. There isn’t a single complaint I have about any of the books, but this one was above all of… everything. It was intense and sexy, had humor and sadness, and Steel and Hellfire were AMAZING. Seriously. Just go read it.

I always feel terrible when I didn't like something by an author who has brought me a lot of joy in the past, but sadly Steel and Hellfire both felt flat for me, and there wasn't a compelling sub-plot or fun secondary characters to win me over as can often happen with Anna Hackett's books. Of course I will be reading Excalibur and counting down until Hex, but I hope both books will be a bit more enthralling than Steel.

Amazon / Paperback

Killian has always been drawn to Devyn "Hellfire" but spending all this time together in close proximity trying to find out who's after them, has fanned the sparks into a full on explosive fire. Now he's claiming her, in love with her even if they've chosen not to say the word to each other. They just have to make it out of this alive...

Devyn and Killian may have been in the CIA together, but he's since gotten out and has started his own elite security company, so there's no one else she'd rather have with her to take on this psycho coming after them. Sure, he's the only man to ever dig beneath her skin, but that's not what she should be thinking about right now, right?

I have been looking forward to Killian's story since his first mention. And damn did he not disappoint! He's alpha to the core, but when he finally falls, he allows Devyn to see his softer side, one he lets very few people see. Devyn is his equal in every way, just as badass, if not more, just as strong, and she falls just as hard as he. I love the way she becomes bffs with Bram, and the whole crew falls in love with her once she integrates herself into their team. The usual action is present, and the lead in to the next character's story. Now I'm very anxiously awaiting the next story. I know who I hope it's about!

STEEL is the fourth instalment in Anna Hackett’s contemporary, adult SENTINEL SECURITY erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Sentinel Security. This is Sentinel Security owner and operative Killian ‘Steel’ Hawke and CIA Agent Devyn ‘Hellfire’ Hayden’s story line.STEEL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s NORCROSS SECURITY series.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Devyn and Killian) STEEL follows the search for an assassin. Someone is targeting our story line heroine but research reveals a list of names targeted for death including Killian Hawke. With the help of the team at Sentinel Security, Devyn and Killian will follow a trail that leads back to someone they know but not before acting on the long simmering attraction towards one another. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Devyn and Killian, as our couple work together to take down a man bent on revenge.

The relationship between Devyn and Killian is one of mutual attraction but neither one was ready for something more permanent. Devyn’s work for the CIA sent our heroine all over the world, and she was in no position to set down roots or give up her job. Killian Hawke opened Sentinel Security in the wake of the abduction of his younger sister, in an effort to save those unable to save themselves. Working together brought our couple together, staying together means keeping each other alive. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including: Rhys Norcross, Brynn and Vander Norcross, Nick Garrick; former MI6 agent Hadley ‘Striker’ Lockwood; hacker Jet ‘Hex’ Adler; CIA analyst Gabbi Hansley, and former Interpol agent Matteo ‘Hades’ Mancini , and Bram ‘Excalibur’ O’Donovan, as well as Killian’s sister Saskia and Camden Morgan.

STEEL is a story of betrayal, obsession and vengeance, power and control, love and acceptance. The fast paced premise is intriguing, inviting and interesting; the romance is provocative and seductive; the characters are energetic, determined and dynamic.

Series: Sentinel Security #4
Rating: 5 stars - I loved it!

Well this book started with a lot of action and never slowed down! CIA agent Devyn “Hellfire” Hayden is one of the CIA’s best deep-cover agents. When she finds herself being attacked by an assassin who is targeting intelligence agents, it sends right to Killian “Steel” Hawke, the one man who tempts her.

I loved this book! I have been waiting for Killian to find love since he was introduced and I am so glad we didn’t have to wait until the end of this series to get it. Killian is a protector who takes care of everyone he considers his. With Devyn though he realizes that it's the first time someone protected his back. I loved getting to know Killian and seeing how much he cares about Devyn. He has been falling for her for years and this attack prompts him to finally act on it. The best part though was that while he didn’t love for her to be in danger, he knew how good she was and let her do her job. He never stops her from being herself and instead acts as backup.

“I feel like I’ve loved you forever, and if you let me, I’ll love you for the rest of our lives.”

Devyn was a kickass heroine. She is extremely skilled at her job and has no problem throwing herself into danger, especially if Killian is in trouble. I really love her. She had a terrible upbringing but it pushed her to be a better person. Killian is the one person who Devyn trusted enough to let her walls down around and fall in love with. Killian and Devyn’s relationship was intense, fast paced, and very romantic. They had a great partnership that worked perfectly on and off the field. I also really loved seeing the epilogue and the glimpse of how their life was after she left the CIA.

Overall, I loved this book and this couple. I can’t wait to read the next book which hopefully will be Bram’s because I am so ready to get to know that grumpy man.

Trigger warnings: References to abandonment by a parent, abusive and alcoholic parent, and death of a parent from overdose.

Killian “Steel” Hawke worked hard to make a name for himself and build a successful business like Stentinal Security. He is always the guy that puts others before himself, and we all love him for it, but really wanted him to have someone to take care of him and put him first.
Devyn “Hellfire” Hayden has always worked alone. She likes it that way, she doesn't like to rely on people because they always let her down. Devyn has shown us before that she has a big heart, and like to tell herself that she isn’t interested in having love of her own.
When danger comes looking for Killian and Devyn they try to work together to bring the enemy down. Well, work together as much as two stubborn, cagey, and fiercely independent former and current agents can! These two cracked me up. They had an instant connection and were drawn together at such a base level. Hackett did an amazing job showing readers how hard it was for Killian to be out of control of things, especially when Devyn was in the mix. This woman did things to him that no other woman has done before. The sexual tension between this pair was OFF THE CHARTS. And so amazing. This book was a perfect mix of Killian & Devyn but also focused on the mission. While the Sentinel team played an intrical part of the book, it really focused on Steel & Hellfire. If you love a security team that is spicy, heavy on the mission, and an epic team then this whole entire series is perfect for you! I adored Killian and Devyn…..and of course, Hackett left us wanting more and more of this amazing Sential team!

Killian “Steel” Hawke, the head of Sentinel Security and a former CIA operative, and Devyn “Hellfire” Hayden, current CIA operative, have been aware of each other for quite a while. They are both excellent at their jobs, and occasionally help each other out on jobs. In this story, someone is out to kill both of these protagonists. As the story begins, Killian witnesses a near shooting of Devyn, and they escape, only to be taken prisoner by mercenaries working for the person who wants them dead. After a bit of give and take, they end up working together to figure out who has it in for them. Naturally, they have a team of people working to help them figure it out…

This book doesn’t stop! The entire Sentinel Security team is working to figure this mystery out, and Killian gets some help from characters from prior books by this same author. This makes it fun, because it is like getting to visit with old friends! Anyway, there is a lot of action and the pace is pretty fast. Reading this book is like trying to decide if you want to race through it to figure out who is after them versus going slow to enjoy every moment. It is a real struggle! These protagonists are lethal and figure out how to get out of tough situations when needed. They aren’t afraid to get rid villains, and they have a lot of help figuring out who is causing all of the trouble. This book was just plain fun to read!

Killian and Devyn

This is the book I’ve been waiting for most in this series. Having read all the Norcross books, Killian was first introduced in that series and his journey to a happily ever after was perfect for him. Of course, there was no shortage of action and adventure and Devyn was no damsel in distress. I loved that both Devyn and Killian were able to save themselves and vowed to also save each other. They made a great team.

Killian and Devyn met years ago in the CIA. Killian was just getting out and Devyn was just getting started. Over the years they ran into each other carrying out their own ops, but when an assassin is after both of them, they finally get the chance to work together. I loved how determined they both were to keep each other safe and unharmed. I also loved that Killian recognized Devyn was just as capable as he was. Killian was determined to finally have a relationship with Devyn and made that clear while still considering her feelings and her checkered past.

One of the things I love most about Anna Hackett is they way her series crossover. I knew this would be one that had some crossover because of Killian’s sister’s relationship with one of the Norcross men. I always love getting a glimpse of Vander Norcross and Killian is definitely his equal.

This book was quite the adventure. There were so many cameos and nonstop action. A great read and never a dull moment.

For a man like Killian (Steel) Hawke, Devlyn (Hellfire) Hayden was undoubtedly his perfect match. I love how the author weaves these stories together with detailed descriptions and narrations that feel real, make me delve into the plot and feel different emotions. Despite having grown up in a hostile environment, lack of love or care, Devlyn knew how to survive and acquire the skills that made her excel at the CIA. When a common danger unites Devlyn and Killian, the spark that had always been present between them ignited and the fireworks did not wait. The attraction between them was intense and I liked that Killian didn't underestimate Devlyn, he showered her with affection and accepted her as his equal. What she had always longed for in her life. What a man! Almost perfect! But with an experienced and resourced enemy, the stakes were high and with Norcross Security backing up the Sentinel team, they were ready to neutralize the threat. There were many situations of great suspense and danger that kept me alert to the author's wittiness to deal with them. I found Bram's situation intriguing that left me guessing and ready for more action. Exciting and intense scenes, a lot of suspense, strong emotions, some humor, danger, romance and a lot of passion.

I LOVED THIS STORY! I LOVE KILLIAN AND HELLFIRE! Killian (Steel) Hawke is the biggest and badest good guy there is! He’s there for everyone but now Steel is going to finally get someone for himself. He’s had his eyes on Devyn (Hellfire) Hayden. She is a “super spy” CIA agent and a loner…until someone puts her on a hit list along with Steel and 8 others. Over the years Devyn has bumped into Killian, this great, sexy, nice guy, and when she finds he is also targeted for assassination she hooks up with him to track the assassin. These two are so alike in their skill set which makes them natural partners in the field. Finally, they get the chance to actually learn about each other, spend time with each other, and confirm that they have a combustible relationship. Killian proves he is not just a superman but he’s also a super lover.
This story is non-stop action with lots of bad guys but thankfully even more good guys. Sentinel Security teams up with the Norcross Security team and all my favorite good guys and gals “take out the bad guys”. GREAT ACTION! AWESOME CHARACTERS! I received a free advanced copy of this story and am thrilled to leave my opinion. Linda

It's finally time for Killian and Devyn's story!!!!!

Anna Hackett has me a bit obsessed with the Sentinel Security series. All of the books that she has released so far have been amazing. I have fallen for the characters and their stories. Not only that the suspense is amazing!

Now when I heard that this was the next book, I wasn't sure what to expect for the storyline. So when I found out that they were being targeted by an assassin my jaw dropped. I had to know what was going to happen next, and how the assassin would be found. There was so much action that happened in this book with regards to the assassin. Getting to see all that play out was interesting, and I was on the edge of my seat.

Steel and Hellfire are perfect together. I loved seeing snippets of them in previous books (getting to see that chemistry build), and now to have them together is amazing. These two will have each others backs in every situation.

I also really loved that we were able to visit with characters from Norcross.

It's sounding like Bram's story is next, and I am so ready to see what's going to happen there!

- Primary Trope: Agent, On the run, Woman in peril, Learning to Love, Forced Proximity, alpha
- Secondary Trope: Protector, Deadly heroine, Deadly hero, Virgin
- Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Spice Level: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Character Attributes
- Heroine - CIA agent Devyn “Hellfire” Hayden came from nothing and made herself into one of the CIA’s best deep-cover agents.
- Hero - The dark, lethal Killian “Steel” Hawke former spy urned billionaire known as Steel. His skills and ruthlessness made him a legend.

Devyn and Killian's relationship is full of adventure and surprises. The story begins with a bang and keeps the action going as they try to uncover the identity of someone who wants to make a name for themselves by kill the top ten agents from around the world. Along the way, new friendships are formed, old ones are tested and the danger increases. Despite the challenges, it's clear that Devyn and Killian can make it through anything together, including their growing relationship. The unexpected humor and teasing of future stories keep the story from getting too dark, and I am eager to read more about this team in the future.

I just really enjoyed this one. Killian “Steel” Hawke owns Sentinel Security, and he’s made a good living for himself. The only thing he needs is someone to be his equal partner, to have his back. Devyn “Hellfire” Hayden comes from a rough background, but she’s an infamous CIA agent and a loner. Though Killian and Devyn have known and knew of each other for years now, they don’t really cross paths often. They do in this book when they’re on the hunted list of an assassin, and Devyn comes back into Killian’s life to warn him.

I really like characters like Devyn, who’s a little introverted but have very strong beliefs and a solid moral compass. I like her dedication to her job, and find her loneliness very endearing. Underneath her insecurities and loneliness is someone who’s yearning to find a family of her own. I think Killian is a lone wolf just like Devyn is, and he really appreciates her independence and strength, but he sees that she wants a family just like he does too. They have much more in common than they realize, and I really enjoyed reading their story.

Also, I cannot wait for Bram’s book!

When a book starts off with the car bombing of a $6,000,000 car, a kidnapping, a narrow escape and the two main characters on a kill list, you gotta know that you are in for some stellar reading. Jonathan "Steel" Hawke and Devyn "Hellfire" Hayden are CIA operatives, one active and one retired. They are both something of a legend in the covert world. He's gone on to own an extremely successful and lucrative security business. She's still handling missions and loving her independent, solitary life. The sexual tension and the heat these two generate may set your device on fire ot at the very least fog up you glasses. Red, as Steel likes to call her and she hates it, has many secrets and he's determined to unlock every one no matter how long it takes. But first they have to figure out who's trying to take them out. Norcross Security comes in as backup to the Sentinel team once the assassin is identified. It's a takedown of epic proportions and will have you at the edge of your seat. Steel's takedown of the walls that Devyn has erected is stellar too. His committed 150% and she finally goes all in for the man who has done nothing but show her what it means to be loved.

Who is out to kill Steel and Hellfire? When Devyn literally explodes once more into Killian’s life to warn him of an assassin on their tails, he knows he’s not letting her go again.  Together with the help of the Sentinel Security team they work to find out who is responsible and become closer in the process.  Devyn has baggage following her from childhood that she hasn’t been able to overcome. We know Killian has some too, but he’s willing to get beyond it to keep Devyn in her life.

Ms. Hackett gave us an action-packed suspenseful ride and once I got on, I couldn’t put the book down until I finished. I loved the hard edge both characters had, but you know underneath they are sensitive and vulnerable.  As they got to know each other, I Killian and his confidence that he and Devyn belonged together. Great characters and witty dialogue between the team as well as the main characters.  This is a no cliffhanger, HEA, with a small tease for the next book with Bram. I’m looking forward to his story.  I received an arc of the book, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
