My Highland Bride

Rate this book
Twenty-first century southern sass versus ancient Highland heat. The winner?

With soulful eyes and curves that refuse to be ignored, Kenna Sinclair might seem like just another pretty Kentucky girl. But she can also read minds, erase memories, and jump through time—a skill set that comes in handy when her matchmaking granny sends her back to thirteenth-century Scotland on the pretext of visiting her older sister. When she encounters the clan’s womanizing man-at-arms, Kenna instantly knows the gorgeous Highlander has only one thing on his mind. She vows to steer clear of him, but after a single electrifying touch, she finds that playing hard to get won’t be quite so easy. . . .

Bewitched by the first lass who could ever resist him, Colum Garrison will do anything to prove his devotion, even ask for Kenna’s hand in marriage—and accept a dare to go celibate until their wedding night. It’s a burden for a man of his thunderous appetite, but the temptation is not his alone: Colum’s fetching bride-to-be is practically trembling with anticipation for a moment that can’t come soon enough. When she’s willing, Colum will be ready and waiting—with a love that lasts a lifetime.

If you love steamy, page-turner love stories about alpha Highlanders, fated mates, and lovers from different centuries, then this is the story for you! This is the second Sinclair sister's story about how a well laid plan to bring her warrior to his knees blows up in her face.

I do love me some historical romance and this was a time traveling one. The premise interested me and the read was pretty good. It gets a soft 4 stars from me because I found myself losing focus during the read which usually means it didn't hold me completely captive. I did like the supernatural element to the story and the hero and heroine combination was lovely. Keeping this simple and sweet so I liked it but I didn't like like it or love it.

I fell in love with Ms. Greyson's writing in My Highland Lover. She doesn't disappoint in this next installment!

Believable characters and superb descriptions of the settings drew me in and transported me to another era - exactly as a well-written story should do. Kenna is the perfect little spitfire for reformed womanizer Colum.

And the best part? Ms. Greyson nailed the big bad guy. He's shiver worthy, yet he put me under his spell and half-earned a cheer from me on more than one occasion. By the books end, I was THRILLED to hear that we could be seeing Mr. Sutherland again.

The perfect time-travel / paranormal romance for any day of the year!

My Highland Bride book is book two in the Highland Hearts series. This time matchmaker granny has picked a mate for the second born Sinclair granddaughter one Kenna Sinclair between her four Sinclair granddaughters. Though the eldest Trulie Sinclair MacKenna is already married and living in the 13th century from My Highland Lover.

USA-Kentucky-21st Century
Scotland-The Highlands-13th Century

My Highland Bride by Maeve Greyson is a superbly written Scottish historical time-travel romance tale of humor, adventure, suspense, sacrifice, betrayal, love, choice, and trust, bride-napping, emotional, and with unrequited love. As it will melt your heart and make you giggle and cry at the same time. The chemistry between Kenna and Colum is just sizzling. This is about 21st century Kenna from Kentucky who is less then thrilled when she gets a message from her Granny who is in the 13th century telling her it was time for her to jump the web of time back to the 13th century. Kenna who hates jumping as she gets major motion sickness at jumps and vomits her guts up. Also she is worried about her mature 18 year old twin sisters whom she lives with. Plus of course giving up all the modern conveniences like the Internet, pizza, being lazy even good old tampons and tooth paste, she just isn't ready. Yet no one can not refuse Granny who has sacrificed so much for them and when she is told she has only a week to prepare well let's say she is less then thrilled by this. Of course Granny takes care her of everything as she has a friend who will be watching the twins until it is their time to do the jump to the 13th century when they all can be together again. Of course Kenna will be happy to see her eldest sister Trulie who fell in love and married Laird Gray MacKenna who is expecting their baby at any moment.

The hero of this book the best friend and man of arms of her brother-in-law Laird Gray Mackenna the Mr. muscle himself one Colum Garrison. The Sinclair sisters all have the power of jumping to and from time, read minds and erase memories. It also has to be kept secret as only a few chose know especially in 13th century with witch burnings and people being accused of sorcery that have no gifts at all! It's was dangerous times for those with any special gifts of any kind!

Kenna's big problem is when she briefly looked into Colums mind it's was like watching the Highlander porn channel he has slept with every available woman is Scotland and virgin Kenna wants no part of that! She will not sleep with any man before marriage which is surprising for 21st century Lass from Kentucky. For Colun this is the first woman who can resist him yet the first woman who makes him feel things he never did before. Even Kenna knows there is this electricity between them as they both feel a tingle when they touch.

You will have to read this amazing page turner enchanting, sweep you off your feet story to see how it resolves as it is truly like having a piece heaven to see how thing are resolved or possibly not resolved? As there are plenty of twists and turns in this captivating page turning tale that will have you gasping for air! Yes it is that spectacular of a read as well as entertaining you won't be able to put this fabulous book down!

I can tell you this I absolutely loved this Scottish historical time-travel by the talented Maeve Greyson and she outdid herself in this one. Even the secondary characters like Granny, and a some critters one an owl and others were so endearing! What a joy to read can't wait for the next book in the Highland Hearts series which will steal your heart and a wee bit of your soul. As I know it did for me as I will be definitely putting this book My Highland Bride on my keeper shelf!

This was an ARC from netgalley.com given in exchange for an honest review.

If allowed I would give this book an entire universe worth of stars instead of five which is the maximum we are allowed to give as this book was so fabulous and I highly recommend!

I generally don't read Highland romances. I always assume that they take place in, like, the 1300's or something and I just can't deal with chamber pots. I like my modern conveniences and I like my heroes and heroines to have them too! This is a time travel Highland romance so this one was a first for me.

I liked Kenna. She's a modern woman in the now. I mean, like, in current time. Her family has the ability to time travel and her grandmother tells the women how and when and all that stuff. I liked Kenna's sense of humor. She didn't REALLY want to go back in time and was kind of dragging her feet a bit. It was so much easier to go through the 1300's with a modern woman's perspective. Her observations were spot on and I had found myself thinking the same thing while reading other books. It was a lot of fun.

Colum was definitely from the 1300's. But he was a lot of fun too. He was aware of Kenna's family's ability to time travel and he's aware that Kenna came from the future. I mean, the fact that he could assimilate that information just blew me away. I liked that he was what I generally think of when I think of a Highland warrior - strong, brave, sexy, muscular, etc. But he also made me mad. I get that he had the values of that time period. His delay in making things official with Kenna caused a lot of problems. It was also really irritating. LOL! But he was a true warrior and did his best to correct things.

The relationship between Kenna and Colum was okay. It was a little funny because in a way, they're opposites - different time periods, etc. And Kenna didn't have a problem giving him a hard time, which was fun. But it felt very slow. Kenna was holding on to her virginity until she was married. That's awesome and everything but I don't read romances to experience the fulfillment of old-timey morals, know what I mean?? There wasn't any Sexy Time until the end of the book, or around there. So it was a little on the boring side.

This was a pretty decent book. It was too tame for me but it had a little bit of humor. For me, humor can make up for a lot of sins. The weird thing is that I generally don't love time travel stories and I don't love Highland romances, but when they were combined, I actually enjoyed it. It was just too tame for my tastes. The writing was good, there was a good amount of humor and lots of action. Even though this was Book 2 in the Highland Hearts series, I feel like it would be okay to be read as a stand-alone.

I loved this book. The lead characters in the book, Colum and Kenna are so enjoyable and likable. Their story is one I will read several times. I found myself putting to book down to enjoy reminiscing the scene I just read and when I got closer to the end, I just didn't want to story to end.
The book was a tender love story that had some drama and suspense, and a short glimpse at the next book, which I cannot wait to read.

I have found a new author I am adding to my list if must reads! Maeve Greysen knows how to tell a terrific, engaging story. I wish I could give this book 6 stars. I'm heading off to purchase the first book in the series, My Highland Lover.

I highly recommend this book to family, friends, and those who enjoy historical romance stories.

Kenna is quite the little spitfire, "what the hell do you care?” Kenna’s voice came from the left. “What’s the matter, Colum? Are you tired of all the currently available pieces in this keep? What happened? Did you run out of new ones? Well, I’ve got news for you, buddy. This piece isn’t up for grabs by just anyone who comes along. The only man good enough to get between my legs is gonna be the man I decide to call husband." He doesn't like to think of other men vying for his woman's attention, "jealous rage transformed his words into a low-throated growl. “Kenna is my woman." I enjoyed this book not as much as the first one but I'm still looking forward to the next Ronan should be interesting.

A Scottish historical romance with a time traveling component, peppered with witty humor, and populated with sexy Highlanders

"Do you have any idea how rare a twenty-three-year-old virgin is where I come from?"

MY HIGHLAND BRIDE by Maeve Greyson is a Scottish romance with a time travel element. It is the second installment in the author's Highland Hearts series. You can find my review of MY HIGHLAND LOVER, the first book in the series, here: http://www.readingbetweenthewinesbook..., which featured the story of Trulie Sinclair and Highlander Chieftain Gray MacKenna. This time around, our matchmaking Granny Sinclair has picked a thirteenth century mate for her second born grand-daughter. MY HIGHLAND BRIDE is the story of Trulie's younger sister, Kenna Sinclair, and Colum Garrison, best friend to Gray. The story is set mostly in the Scottish Highlands in the thirteenth century, though some of it occurs in Kentucky in the twenty-first century.

This story was a bit slow for me at first. Then... just when it picked up the pace, and I was totally engrossed, something happened that I didn't care for. I put the book aside until I'd calmed down enough to finish it and finish it I did. It ended well, thank goodness. So, no worries about that. Overall, it was an enjoyable romance, but not one of my favorites. I really don't care for one of the characters and that character is going to be the hero in the next book. I sure hope Maeve can turn around my opinion of him.

I liked both the hero and the heroine, though I wanted to strangle muscle-man Colum too many times to count. I mean... how stupid can one man be? All of the serious angst in this story could have been avoided if he'd just stepped up to the plate - like he should have! I blame his stubbornness on the Viking ancestry he seems to have. I will also comment that I was amazed to see how fast Colum changed from being a womanizer to being totally captivated by Kenna once he met her.

Ms. firebrand Kenna is less than thrilled when she receives Granny's summons. But... when she takes one look at Colum, the chemistry clicks immediately for her, too. Now, if she could only get him to the altar...

Mother Sinclair, Trulie and Gray figure prominently in this story and it was great catching up with Trulie and her growing family. I love that their new addition has an owl as her totem! And my favorite canine character from the previous book, Karma, is totally enamored with the baby too! Eliza, a witch, figures in this story too. I hope we see more of her in future installments!

I admit that I do love my Highlanders! Overall, there were more parts of this story that I loved, than parts that turned me off. If you enjoy Scottish historical romances with an original time traveling component, peppered with witty humor, and populated with sexy Highlanders, you should check out her Highland Hearts series. I'll be picking up the next book in this series, MY TEMPTING HIGHLANDER, to see if she succeeds in changing my mind about that book's hero! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she does!

While this second installment on "Highland Hearts" series was better than previous book, it was not what I expected after reading the blurb.

On early pages, I liked that while Calum and Kenna bantered back and forth, their interactions not filled with over the top jokes like I found on #book1. I also applauded Calum's changes from womanizer into devoted pursuer (yes, it was kinda rushed, but I didn't take issue with it).

However, both MCs' stubbornness got too tedious for me after a while. Calum felt Kenna deserved more, he wanted to improve his standing in his clan before claiming his bride. But had he done something about it? Noo. Until a new character entered the scene. At this point, I felt the plot had run all over the place. It was no surprise that soon I liked the new gray character better; this person stood out with the aura of mystery around them. Of course, I had a hunch that this new person's appearance was also served as introduction to the next book in which they would be the leading characters. And I was RIGHT on money!

The way the problems resolved didn't impress me at all. In fact I was disappointed with the way our highlander hero acted. When the heroine finally decided to take matters into her hands, I was like "what took you so long!?"

So, as much as intrigued I am to know more on the next book pairing, I'm also wary if the story turned out as convoluted as this one. I guess we'll see.

I read My Highland Lover by Maeve Greyson and immediately waited excitedly for My Highland Bride. It didn't disappoint! While it is not necessary to read My Highland Lover before reading My Highland Bride, I believe it will bring even more to the story. Plus, it is another excellent novel.

Kenna Sinclair is part of a family of time travelers tasked with protecting history. When Kenna's grandmother calls her back to the 13th century to what is to be her destiny, like everyone else, she obeys her grandmother order.

Colum Graham quickly learns Kenna is the only woman for him. He has a terrible past, bedding lass after lass, but he wants to change to prove himself to Kenna. Their love grows, but he won't ask her to marry him until he can provide for her with a home and money. His wait puts a strain on their relationship and when someone arrives that gives him a challenge for her affections, Colum knows what he must do. But will it be too late?

Maeve Greyson has quickly become one of my favorite authors. She crafts a story that comes alive with history and emotions grabbing you from the beginning. This is a enchanting story of love with a family you will want to see more of. Bring on more stories!

I received this copy on NetGalley for an honest review. Honestly, you must purchase this as soon as it is available!

I love this series! I can not wait to read the next installment from Highland Hearts. Kenna Sinclair seems like just another pretty Kentucky girl. But she can also read minds, erase memories, and jump through time. But when her matchmaking granny sends her back to thirteenth-century Scotland on the pretext of visiting her older sister, she encounters the clan's womanizing man-at-arms. Colum Garrison will do anything to prove his devotion, even ask for Kenna's hand in marriage—and swear off his chosen form of recreation until their wedding night. But the sinful temptation is not his alone: Colum's fetching bride-to-be is practically trembling with anticipation for a moment that can't come soon enough. But when Kenna is kidnapped Colum may have waited to longto claim Kenna as his bride. Very good read! Loved it!!!

Wow!

I cannot believe I am saying this…I think book 2 may have been better than book 1 and I loved book 1. The story of Colum and Kenna is so good! Some action, romance, humor and a bit of steam kept me up way too late! Love the addition of the owl. I know these are some of Ms Greyson’s earlier books, however they are every bit as good as her recent books! If you like time travel, you will love these books!!!

Maeve Greyson does a good job at writing light-hearted fun fantastical stories that start in the 21st Century America and end in 13th Century Scotland. My Highland Bride is the second book in the Highland Hearts series. The first book, My Highland Lover, involved the eldest Sinclair sister (Trulie) and her fated husband (Grey) who was chieftan of Clan McKenna.

In this installment, its time for Kenna (the second Sinclair sister) to embrace her fate and travel from present-day Kentucky to the 13th Century Highlands. Of course this is all set into motion by the matriarch, Granny Sinclair. Kenna's fated husband is to Colum Garrision, the man-at-arms for Clan McKenna. And for this couple - its love at first sight... or should I say tingle at first touch!

Kenna is a likable heroine. Although she was resistant to the time travel at first, once she gets to Scotland, she goes all in and decides what she wants straight away. I admired that. Kenna had a hard time balancing her modern feminist type of ideals with the fragile ego and overarching pride of a Scottish warrior. When Colum is reluctant to move their relationship forward (because he is a numpty), Kenna struggles to maintain the status quo instead of taking matters into her own hands.

Colum was an empathetic hero. As soon as he met Kenna, he changed his womanizing ways and sets out to prove that she is the woman for him. But once Kenna is amenable, Colum suddenly feels like he is not quite good enough for her and must better himself before he can offer her marriage. I did not like the wallowing Colum was engaging in and wanted to shake him several times in this book. But other than that, I liked him as a hero and empathized with his plight of wanting to give Kenna the world.

Unfortunately Colum and Kenna's plans to get the other to acquiesce to their desires blows up right in their faces. A new character comes into the story as an antagonist, and foils everyone's best laid plans. I don't want to say too much about that part of the story because I don't want to spoil anything - but part of it was heartwrenching. And this new character, Laird Sutherland, promises to be an interesting character in the next book. I am very excited to see him matched with another Sinclair sister and see what fate has in store for them!

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. 4 stars / 2 flames.

My Highland Bride is the second book in the Highland Hearts series by Maeve Greyson. This romance is currently scheduled for release on August 25 2015. I have not read the first book in the series, and while it might have made the acclimation to the premise and cast of characters easier, I felt like I could fully enjoy the story despite the lack. Kenna Sinclair seems like just another pretty Kentucky girl. But she can also read minds, erase memories, and jump through time; a skill set that comes in handy when her matchmaking granny sends her back to thirteenth-century Scotland on the pretext of visiting her older sister. When she encounters the clan’s womanizing man-at-arms, a single electrifying touch makes Kenna see that playing hard to get will not be easy. Bewitched by the first lass who could ever resist him, Colum Garrison will do anything to prove his devotion, even ask for Kenna’s hand in marriage, and swear off his chosen form of recreation until their wedding night. The match might be perfect, but Colum's pride just might open the door to more trouble than either are prepared for.

My Highland Bride caught me interest quickly, but lost me for a bit in the middle. The love interest between Kenna and Colum was quick, and backed up by the Sinclair family's particular set of gifts. I enjoyed Colum's character, and development but after the initial introduction to Kenna (which I really liked and got my hopes up for a strong character) I found her to be less dynamic and interesting as the story went on. I did like that they did not go straight to a happy ending, and when the big conflict arose in the middle I was on board with it.I thought it was just the kick in the pants Colum needed to kick things into gear. However, In I think the conflict as a whole was more complicated and hard on Colum than it needed to be. If it had come together a little sooner, I would have felt a little more connection with the final resolution- but because of the additional problems I found myself impatient for the conclusion. I also found myself more interested in the characters I expect to star in the next book than with Kenna and Colum.

My Highland Bride was a decent story. There were parts that I really loved, but was disappointed in Kenna’s character over all and became impatient with the story. I will be reading the next book, because this one did make me very interested to see what happens with two of the secondary characters which I fully expect to be the main players in the near future.

Maeve Greyson has written a wonderful historical time-travel romance that is My Highland Bride. This is about Kenna from the Twenty-first century Kentucky family who has the uncanny ability to read minds, erase memories, and most of all time-travel! Kenna gets a letter from her Granny telling her she must jump to the 13th century where she is and her older sister who is about to give birth. Kenna is quite comfortable in this time and doesn't really want to go where there are no creature comforts like pizza and the internet! But Granny will not be refused. Duty calls! She is also worried about seeing her twin sisters there. Granny has assured her they will be away until it is time from them to jump back to the 13th century and all be together as a family once more. What she doesn't know, is that Granny has found her a mate, and they are waiting for her.

Colum is the hero here-all big, strong, and sexy beast of a man. Once she meets him, she is less than thrilled until she touches him and the electricity zaps up her body! She had the chance to delve into his mind and finds that's he's been with every lass in the clan! She surely doesn't want to end up as another notch on his belt! She feigns disinterest and that rankles Colum. She's the first to make him feel things he's not felt before. Even Kenna feels it.

I really was enchanted with My Highland Bride! It was full of adventure, humor, romance and a whole bunch of everything! The chemistry is hot with these two and it took everything to put it down! There's lots of twists and turns so you will see how hard it was to stop reading! The story is unique with the ability to time-travel back and forth, and when you add in the mind abilities, it's quite a ride! The only thing I would have loved was some more sexy time between these two! Gosh it would have been so spicy! All in all, I highly recommend this as it was fun and chock-full of action read!

(This review is based on ARC e-book received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion.)

Time travel romance is not my usual book genre. However, since historical Scottish romance is, I took a chance on Ms. Greyson’s “Highland Hearts” series and have been pleasantly surprised. In fact, after reading the first book, My Highland Lover, I have been hoping to come across more. The second book, My Highland Bride, did not disappoint. In fact, it was even better than the first. The writing style, likeable characters, and plot seemed to flow effortlessly and were engaging. I especially liked the grandmother’s direct, sharp wit, and take charge attitude. Kept picturing her role being played by the same actress that stars as Violet Crawley, the grandmother, in Downton Abbey. Fans of Kristen Ashley’s Fantasyland series will likely enjoy this one as it has strong, spirited heroines and possessively protective alpha male heroes. Hopefully Ronan will get his HEA in book #3. Fortunately each book is a stand-alone, but I suggest you read them in order to experience the full effect of the series.

I was so excited by the blurb. I thought, what a great premise to let the sparks and witty banter fly. We have the clan's manwhore butting heads and falling for a modern 21st century lady, here to visit her sister, who is gifted to read minds (including his oh-so-dirty one) and time travel.

But I was disappointed. The turnaround on our hero is just too sudden. Said manwhore meets Kenna our heroine, sees her in her scandalous 21st century clothing, have a few lines of conversation with her - and not deep conversations at that, and suddenly he is not only deeply ashame of his womanizing past but talking forever and marriage. I wanted a little more sparks and moreover I wanted it to be believable.

It wasn't horrible, but it definitely wasn't great. Just meh.

An enjoyable Time Travel/Scottish Romance. #2 in "Highland Hearts" series, but can be read as a stand alone. Although, I'd recommend reading book 1.
Well wwritten with engaging and interesting characters. The storyline is unique, enjoyable, interesting and intriguing. Of course, the setting was my favorite, Scotland, with Scottish Highlanders, myths and legends.
An enjoyable and satisfying read.
Can't wait for the next installment.

I usually don't usually go for the time travel romance as much as the old traditional historical romance. In addition this is my first read by this author. But it won't be the last! I really loved this book and the Hero who was the possessive / jealous type which I love. Kenna was a pretty strong women which was nice. This is a must read and another book that is hard to put down (which I love!!).

I loved this book. Fun from beginning to end. Lots of action, mystery, and stubborn highlander pride. lol I have not read this author before so I was treated to a great story line and a strong H/H. I now have to go back and get her first book in this series. If there is one. She makes you laugh and brings you into the story.

Believe me this is worth buying and reading. I think she will be added to my list of authors for auto buy.

This was a fun story. It has the beauty of the Highlands mixed with a little paranormal of time travel. This is the second book in the series. We meet up with Kenna, the second sister. It is now her time to come back in time. This story has so many exciting things going on. I loved the flow and the writing. It had perfect balance.

This is the second book in the series. We meet up with Kenna, the second sister. It is now her time to come back in time. This story has so many exciting things going on. I loved the flow and the writing. It had perfect balance.

Once again I unknowingly started a series with book two not realizing it was even part of a series.  There was enough background information that I didn't feel lost but I definitely will go back and read the first book, My Highland Lover , to fill in the gaps.  This was so not what I expected.  I thought it would be a typical book set in the Highlands of Scotland with clans fighting for dominance and women.  Boy, was I wrong since this book had so much more.  It was part romance with alpha males and part paranormal with time travel involving the thirteenth century in Scotland as well as present day Kentucky along with gifts and wolves.  This was an enjoyable read even though I'm not usually a fan of the paranormal genre.

There was so much emotion involved along with a lot of twists and turns to the story.  There was playfulness along with ruthlessness. The story flowed smoothly and we got to know the characters little by little since many of them had a depth to them that I wasn't expecting. There were family, friends, servants, clansmen, the keep, laughter, tears, anger, rage, defeat, injuries, fighting, secrets, stealth, weapons, horses, magic, loving and love.  There were feisty women in Trulie and Kenna along with their Granny Sinclair and even Coira, the maid had a fun-loving side to her .  Trulie and her husband, Gray, the chieftan, complemented each other as did Kenna and Colum but he didn't see it quite that way.  Their chemistry was strong but most of the story he was fighting it feeling that he was beneath her in stature.  Ronan muddied the waters when he was thrown into the mix and he had an odd presence and look about him and was a worthy opponent for Colum.  The descriptions of the land, the keep and the castle were vivid and I felt that I was there.  The language of the Scots was sometimes hard to understand but kept with the essence of the story and often times Kenna reverted to present day American words and slang which really confused those around her.  There was an unexpected happily ever after with a twist and enough loose ends that left me wanting more.  The epilogue hinted at things to come and was the icing on the cake. I can't wait until the third book in the series, My Tempting Highlander, is released in 2016.

Greyson is a new to me author and I look forward to reading more of her books especially if this is her caliber of writing!

My Highland Bride
Highland Hearts #2
Maeve Greyson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kenna Sinclair might seem like just another pretty Kentucky girl, but she's more than that. She can read minds, erase memories, and jump through time. So when her Granny sends her back through time to thirteenth century Scotland where her older sister and Granny are, she knows things will change, but she didn't expect these changes to be waiting for her in the manner that they were. The first person she encounters is the clan's womanizing man at arms, and she instinctively knows that the gorgeous Highlander has only one thing on his mind, so she decides to stear clear of him, but after a single electrifying touch, she finds that playing hard to get won't be quite so easy....

Colum Garrison has decided that Kenna must have bewitched him because all of a sudden, all he wants is her, and he will do anything to prove his devotion, even marry her, and go celibate until their wedding night. It's a tough thing for a man like him to do, but the temptation is not his alone as his fetching bride to be can't wait for that moment to come herself.

Oh my gosh, this book is amazing. Maeve Greyson is brilliant. I could not put this book down. The way this author tells a story makes it feel like you are there witnessing the past. At one point in the story, I felt like someone punched me in the stomach, and as all my breath wooshed out in shock, I could have sworn I heard an audible crack as my heart literally snapped in two for Kenna and Colum. You will know which part I'm speaking of when you read the story. And when you are that invested in the story, it is worth way more than five stars. I think this is one of the best books that I have ever read. When this author puts her pen to paper, you just know that there are going to be more twists, turns, and even bumps than you could ever imagine. Ms. Greyson, this story was so good it blew me away.

So as with the first book I will restate what to say.. I loved it.
If you like someone who is a witch and read's minds and can wipe them out the memory that is.. you will like this one as well.

Kenna Sinclair, has a mind of her own, and of course doesn't want to go to the past to Scotland, she loves her life just the way it is thank you very much.. But when granny puts her foot down nothing is going to stop her from convincing Kenna her fate belongs in good ol Scotland in te past. She has a mission that must be accomplished or all is lost, sorta speak.
Colum Garrison, he is in a heap of trouble, not only known for bedding the lasses, and making bets doing so; now he has one that can read his undaunted mind and she knows exactly what he is thinking. But after touching her he chances his mind about others and will do whatever it takes to win this lady. But alas he does not feel worthy of her affection, he needs to make something of himself first.

Rolling my eyes.

She's not convinced and to make him jealous finds another. But my oh my tables turn and things get a little vicarious.
Bargains will be made, vows kept, but who will be the victor in this???
Surprising twist. Who will win the prize?
Read it find out. Love the cover, and yes I do recommend this story.
This was an exciting books.

Not for me Possible Spoilers

I’ve tried the first two books in the series and they just don’t work for me. There were more holes in the plot of this storyline for me. I gave it 3 stars just because the author has a lot of ideas whirling around in her mind and she writes good but it’s not for me. I felt she jumped around with too many ideas and that is where it failed for me.

The extra suitor for Kenna was even more weird craziness. Jump to Book 3 and make one of the twins marry this creepy weirdo with magic. Sorry but I quit, I’m done reading more of these books with the way these are going. No one in their right mind would be attracted and want him as a husband. I can’t say exactly why because it would ruin it for those who want to read it.

The ending was rushed with the fast wedding for Kenna and next is Kenna and Granny talking and Kenna had just got married and nothing else happened with the bride and groom. The end. Sore that probably spoils it too.

received a free copy of this book from the author on Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. The lead characters in the book, Colum and Kenna are so enjoyable and likable. Their story is one I will read several times. I found myself putting the book down to enjoy reminiscing the scene I just read and when I got closer to the end, I just didn't want the story to end.

Stubborn and prideful man had his arse out of his head and finally married her!

But I am most uncomfortable with Kenna and Colum living in the keep with all the women Colum screwed. I know he's a changed man but I seemed can't get it stuck in my head. What's even worse, having sex with virgins, and I can't imagine that the virgins were willing and accepted it without one of them getting revenge. How many maids were there!? GrOsS!

I'm glad Ronan wasn't made out to be bad guy. I'm interested in reading about Ronan's story.
Can't wait. Oh and I hope Coria will have her little novel someday. She totally deserve it!
