I have to admit that I actually struggled through this one at first, and it's very likely that I might not have finished it except I promised a friend I'd read it. I'm glad I did because it got so much better and it's one of my favorite series now with some of my favorite characters! (Thank you, babe! <3)

My 16 year old and I enjoyed reading this series together this summer. We enjoyed the Whisper and Weapon series last summer and the Prison Healer series was just as good. Lynette Noni is the #1 YA author in Australia and I wish she was more well known in the US because her books are great. I love YA, especially when the love interest is not too strong/smutty and when the book is not all angsty.

Ok, I definitely did not see the reveal at the end of the book coming. But it makes sense and ties in why Kiva is in prison for so long and not guilty of anything. A really good read.
