I listened to this on Audible which is possibly what spoiled it for me, as I found the narrator painfully irritating at times. The general narration was fairly well suited to the female characters but excruciating when speaking the male characters’ parts!!!
The story for me seemed hard to believe, even though it was written by a historian. I think there was a LOT of speculation on her part, but who knows? Maybe there is some truth in it.
Overall ok, but I can’t see me reading the two next books in the series....more
