And did I love it? YES!! Seriously who needs to reinvent the wheel when these stories are so good as is!
Set in an alternate world where same gender relationships are normal . YAY for no homophobia or secretiveness but some good historical fiction vibes ~
Cador is an ass for most of the beginning, I didn't expect to like him as much as I did. His gruff demeanour melted away the more he let Jem in but god was it satisfying to see him grovelling on his knees for forgiveness. Jem was so precious the whole book, his pain and rejection really touched me. The writing for the emotional scenes was so good, I was in tears several times (like the whole book thing?! As a lover of books it hurt SO much).
The book ends without a HFN or HEA but #teamJem, I support his resolve to stand his ground. Excited for more grovelling and relationship development, can't wait for book 2!!
PS. Readers who read the book, I'm curious what you thought of this scene:(view spoiler)[ when they start humping each/hooking up while sitting on the horse, did anyone else think it was so weird? (hide spoiler)]...more
This is like a classic mm book that I've always been curious about, shoutout to Marci for giving me the push to finally read it.
My feelin3 - 3.5 stars

My feelings ended up being a bit conflicting (but I'm not surprised just based on the year this book was written). The majority of this book is spent with Logan, a bisexual player, actively trying to get in Tate's "straight" pants. While some of their banter was fun, Logan's aggressive pursuance made me a bit uncomfy! Like damn, this guy does not understand the meaning of no.... workplace harassment alert!!! So while that aspect wasn't really my cup of tea and pretty questionable, once Tate did give in to temptation, the book became A LOT more enjoyable. I ended up really liking them together.
The book was like 80% sex so I'm definitely curious to see how their relationship develops in the next book !!...more

Why yes, I am going to pretend that a billionaire doctor adopting 7 psychopaths' sons and raising them to be killers is definitely a thing that happens and what about it?!!
Embrace the OTT. Embrace the killer/part-time super model MC. It's the only way.
This was a fun read. I loved Adam and Noah together. It was insta-love but due to Adam's obsessive nature and Noah's vulnerability, it made sense in the story. I loved Adam, his lack of understanding of what is socially acceptable was so funny at times but also hot because it made him possessive AF. It was also so cute that he cared so much about Noah that when Noah was upset, he asked people around him what neurotypical people do to be empathetic and supportive.
I also liked that even though Noah was a victim and had a lot of trauma, he wasn't a damsel in distress. Noah was capable and cunning when needed, he was an active participant in the plot to get revenge on the pedophiles who abused him. Loved how he really becomes a member of the family by the end ❤️
I'm excited to see which brother is next !!!...more

Their dynamic was everything! I really liked Roman's character, despite being a violent Russian mafia guy, Roman was a good mix of domineering and loving towards Luke. Even though he had ingrained homophobia in the beginning, he pushed Luke to accept his true self. I also liked that he didn't really have a big-gay-freakout and just came to accept his attraction to Luke. I loved the Russian terms of endearment, SO cute. Also, his possessiveness?!!!!! *chef kiss*
This couple is probably in my top 3 favourite couples in the series.

!!! In order to enjoy yourself; real life morals and thoughts need to be left at the door!!! Raffaele's treatment of Nate is fucked up and this story would very much constitute the romanticization of workplace sexual harassment but after drinking the AH koolaid, I can temporarily pause on how would I react in the outside world and enjoy their mess of a love story. Like not me thinking it was CUTE how Raffaele was watching Nate at work through the security cameras and spoiling his chances of getting a new job bc he missed him?!
I really can't provide a real review with criticisms because I read this with no critical though in my brain and just enjoyed the OTT jealousy, possessiveness and hate sex.
Their progression to mushy love was so fast though, their dynamic really went 0-100 in the end, it gave me a bit of whiplash. MY ONE CRITICISM (for almost all AH books ...more
