i loved how Finn excepted he wasn’t as experienced as he thought he was in bed and asked for help. It was a refreshing display of a healthy male with a secure masculinity.
Chandler was honest about her experience with finn and tried to help him out in bed and those scenes were so much fun to read. Their banter and conversations were kept light throughout the book , at least till the point I read, and so it wasn’t hard to follow along.
But I have to say that I found the rest of it pretty boring. Especially the parts where they spoke about his life for the book. I know it’s a very important portion of the plot because it’s about his book and his life, but I kept zoning out. So I think I’m going to put this one off....more

This was a first for me in many ways and I cannot thank elena enough for bring this to my attention.
Also, I’ll whisper a joke to you, and you’ll laugh because of my comedic genius. Couples are always giggling.” He types once more. “Pretend like Jonah is funny.”
The author did a really impressive job in making the relationship a priority without it being the only focus in the book. We’re given equal importance to the characters lives and struggles and how they battle with it on their own instead of using their relationship or new found spouse as an excuse to make amends and it’s so refreshing <3 (obviously I’m not faulting or diminishing the previous books I’ve read on how they dealt with struggles, I’m just saying that this was a first )

I’d rather have her angry and I’m pretty good at making that happen. I’d also really like her to be happy with me more often than she’s annoyed. I’d . . . love it, actually. Happy Natalie is a mission I want to go on and never come back”
win win winnnnn.
I was initially a little hesitant to get into this because I couldn’t even get 2 pages into secretly yours but I just had to give it a try for the tropes.
August Gates fell first and he fell hard. His determination to make things work with Natalie made the entire book just light me up. It was one of those reads where everything just worked perfectly together, the banter, the fights, the communication ✨...more

Rakesh initially was intellectual and was a genius and I thought yay but we’re immediately introduced to his asshole and arrogant side from his inner monologues. It wasn’t an appealing arrogant either, it’s dialogues that make you roll your eyes.
Eagan was just a baby the entire book. Cute. Vulnerable and couldn’t function without Rake. I mean, some parts of the book were fun but others were barely tolerable. I say go into it for fun and don’t take much of it seriously...more

Some of the twists were good and the audiobook was a much better experience and helped me get through. Pip wasn’t my favourite character and her personality make me ik at times and it got a little a cliche.
So all in all? I just wanted to know what happened and who did it, it wasn’t the plot that had me going....more

I think Ana Huang’s book can be entertaining and fun and sexy but King of pride was poorly written with dull characters and lack lustre dialogues.
AH had me going in the beginning with the attraction between Kai and Isabella but then they had so much going on in their lives that their attraction and lust just took a back seat. Also, the whole Clarissa storyline? How she just manages to show up and bump into Isa at the right time to get their relationship going by adding jealousy to the mix? It wasn’t needed after a point. ...more

That’s exactly what this book was for me, it was fun and the friend group dynamics was entertaining without being too involved in the main couples love life.
