Although I don't read them frequently, I enjoy them. The Ritual initially gave me high hopes during the first third of the story. However, the characters' immaturity bothered me, even though I understand it is a college romance. Although it was not enough for me to abandon the book, the characters' lack of maturity was still present. The book had many fascinating ideas, but ultimately, I could not bring myself to care about any of the characters....more

It has fantastic dBride is Ali Hazelwood’s first paranormal romance, and it certainly has all of the charm I’ve come to know across all of her books. It has fantastic dialogue, interesting characters, and some parts made me laugh out loud!
One thing I love most about Ali Hazelwood is her characters, and she delivered! All of Misery’s dialogue is engaging, with her snarky banter, wit, and kind heart. I love Lowe and his quick wit, selflessness, and his devotion to Misery, Anna, and his pack. Misery and Lowe fit together so well, and their relationship is very believable and swoon-worthy.
Also, I loved Anna and Sparkles, the cat, and the whole pack, for that matter. Misery’s interactions with them, especially Anna, were entertaining and would sometimes make me laugh out loud. Misery and Owen’s sibling relationship, bickering back and forth but silently caring about each other deeply, was so realistic, as I have a twin sibling of my own. I love seeing girl/boy twin rep.
Overall, this was definitely an Ali Hazelwood experience, and I am BEGGING her to release another PNR romance. She will always remain one of my favorite romance authors for her one-of-a-kind writing style. It would be a crime not to rate this anything but 5 stars!...more

My shelf is filled to the brim with monster and alien romances to no surprise for people who know me. So, I absolutely had to read this book.
Overall, Ice Planet Barbarians was an engaging read that kept me hooked. I finished it in one night and the spicy scenes were great, but not anything crazy. I would rate this 4 stars out of 5. It was terrific, but a few books in the series are positively my favorite books....more
